Mobile Device Center and Windows 8.1 (Enterprise) not working

After a HD crash i've got a new HD. Had to setup all development tools and so on. And because of a new setup why not over to Windows 8.1?
Now the problem is that Window 8.1 will not activate WMDC !? I keep saying "a  component is missing"  but no more information.
Does any body has any idea how to make a connection to my Windows Mobile 6.5 device? (Psion/Symbol Workabout Pro G4)
thanks

  • Flashbuilder 4.7 and Windows 8.1 - Debugger not working

I have recently upgraded to Windows 8.1 and am having problems getting both the debugger and the run to work for an AIR Mobile application in Flashbuilder 8.1.
In Flashbuilder the error message is 'Process Terminated unexpectedly' with the adl.ex launch command below it.
If I run the adl from the command prompt, the error message states 'Adobe AIR could not be found'.
However, if I replace the -runtime with an AIR download i.e. 3.9 that does not include the Flashbuilder Flex components, then the AIR app fires up correctly. I don't think it is a port problem as I tried with the firewall turned off and got the same results.
Is this a known problem with Windows 8.1? Has anyone else seen this issue?
    Thanks

So, since Adobe is MIA and are giving even more arguments to the late Steve Job about the sory state of their player, here is what I found so far.
I was able to uninstall/remove the current player. Keep in mine that I am still trying to install the debug version. Also, I am not sure if all the steps are required as many attempts, trial and errors have been made. This is on Windows 8.1 - 64bit
    Downloaded the uninstaller
    http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html
    Exit all browsers
    Run the uninstaller
Take ownership of the folder and all sub-folders and files from...
    C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash
Right-click Flash folder, select properties, Security tab, Advanced button
Next to owner, select Change link
Type you user name and select Ok
Make sure to select the check box for "Replace all children..."
Give yourself full access to the same folder and files
Right-click Flash folder, select properties, select Security tab
    Select Edit button
    Select Add button
Type you user name and select Ok
    Select full control check box
    Select Ok
Now you should be able to rename the folder to "FlashOld".
    Restart the computer
    Test the player
    With IE, go to...
    http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html
This should confirm that the player is gone.
    Reinstall
I tried to install the Windows 8.1 x64 debugger from
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=325411 but I keep getting the same message saying that MS IE will take care of the updates (Great, tx!!...not).
    I tried
    http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/updaters/11/flashplayer_11_ax_debug.exe
and it appears to install without issues.
It created a Flash folder right next to the old one.
I restarted the computer but going to the test page shows that it does not work.
    Still stuck...chime in anytime Adobe!!

  • D6160 and Windows 7 RC "Does not Work"

Hello everyone, my printer is the HP D6160 Photosmart
I connected the printer with my usb cable to my computer, Windows 7 automatically found the HP Printer and installed drivers, but everytime I tried to print something it didn't start. I installed other drivers (6160 exactly) and tried again but I got exactly the same problem again. I also tried to install the drivers in compatibly mode (Vista e.g.) and it also didn't work.Sorry for my english, I am a german dude, but I would gladly thank everyone who could help me, Thanks in advance!

have the same problem. In the device manager from Windows 7 there appears an entry "Other Devices - HP Device"with a question mark. That might be the problem but how can we resolve this?

  • Silverlight and Windows 8.1 is not working

    Hi,
I'm trying to get horizon.tv (by UPC) in The Netherlands working, and on Windows 7 it works, but on Windows 8.1 it simply doesn't work! Very strange, because Silverlight and Windows 8 are both from Microsoft!
I've tried starting Firefox, Chrome and IE from the desktop, but it all fails.
I have downloaded the latest Silverlight; it installed automatic, and further all is up to date.
    What is going wrong?
    Maarten van Loon
    The Netherlands

    Hi,
Sorry to hear about the issue you are experiencing.
Pease try change the Compatibility view Settings as below steps.
    1. open Desktop IE >go to "horizon.tv"
    2. select Tools > compatibility view > add site in box
    3. checked on"Display intranet sites in Compatibility View" and "Use Microsoft Compatibility Lists"
    4. restart IE
If that doesn't help, please try installing this update
KB2901549 which may resolve the issue, if all these no help, please try to use the
    MS "Fix-It"
to uninstalled and reinstalled Silverlight again.

  • Creative Entertainment Center in windows 7.the remote not working

how i can activate the remote from x-fi fatality champion series.after i change my system form vista to 7 my remote not working.can i install the software from vista?

B? You have Creative Console Launcher, I believe and that is the program you can use to change between audio creation, entertainment and gaming mode. Each mode highlights the card's specialities in that area. You have a vitural multi-track mixer in audio creation mode. You have Dolby and DTS encoder/decoder options in entertainment mode, and you have a generic access to the cards other features in gaming mode.

  • Windows XP and Windows 7 home sharing not working at all

Had a really old laptop with XP that I used basically only for iTunes. Now want to use homesharing to get all my music/apps from the old XP to a new, Windows 7 laptop. Both laptops are authorised to use my Apple ID and I've authorised and de-authorised it several times. I have activated and deactivated homesharing on both computers several times. I have also removed Firewalls from both computers, and I have made sure the "Bonjour" service is activated on both computers. Nothing is working, as soon as I click "done" after activating homesharing it disappears from the lefthand side column of the iTunes window on both computers. Please help I'm going to Uni in 6 days and don't wanna transfer this all manually!

I was able to resolve my issue. Here's how:
Did a lot of research on this. I have a Linksys WRT120N router where the only device not on Wifi was my Windows 7 PC (it was plugged in with an Ethernet cable while everything else was on Wifi). Having fiddled with the router settings to no avail, I went out and bought a Wireless USB adapter to put the Windows 7 PC on Wifi.
When I set that up, I could now see my Windows 7 library on the Apple TVs. However, when I went into the library, it was stuck on "Loading Library" in perpetuity.
I looked in my list of Windows services running (Start -> Control Panel -> Search for "Services") and noticed that, even though I disabled the Windows Firewall in the System and Security settings, the Windows Firewall service was still running. I disabled the service (right click -> properties) and restarted the computer. Voila, it works now.
It is possible that the problem was the Windows Firewall service (not the Wireless), but I've read countless posts where people had issues with the devices being on wired and Wifi and not seeing each other. As such, I haven't (and don't plan to) tested it back with just the Ethernet cable. If you're having my issue, you can try that first.
I should also note that when this wasn't working, I was also unable to use my iPhone to pair as a remote with iTunes. It would pair but the iPhone would be stuck in "Looking for" when I tried to control the library. This is now also fixed after doing the above.
Hope this helps anyone else frustrated out there.

  • Satellite C55-A-1N1 and Windows 8 - i5 is not working

I recently bought a Toshiba Satellite laptop and it was working completely fine for the first two months. I used to shut it down using the power down option and everything was fine. Then, three days ago, it was taking extra long to power down. Normally it took about 2 minutes; this time it had gone 1 hour and it was still in the process of shutting down.
I was frustrated and held the power button down until the screen went dark and the laptop went off. The next day, I turned it on and it loaded up fine, however once it reaches the Windows 8 page, the screen turns blue and as if it refreshes itself and returns back the homepage. This happens every three seconds making it impossible to open any applications. I have checked if any buttons are pressed down and there aren't any that are and the laptop is fully charged. I have assignments due in very soon and getting work down is near impossible at the moment.
Any help will be appreciated greatly.
    Thanks.

I don't know what is wrong there but what you can try is to reinstall original recovery image using HDD recovery option.
Instructions about repair and recovery you can find on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB2A03ES0000R01.htm
Have you may be created recovery media (DVD or USB)?

I have a customer that has some Motorola Windows Mobile 6.5 devices.   They were trying to get their devices connected to their PCs with Windows Mobile Device Center and were running into problems.  They contacted Microsoft Tech support and were

  • Windows Mobile Device Center fails to open on Windows Vista and Windows 7 machines

    Hello,
Our domain based machines cannot open Windows Mobile Device Center (Windows 7 and Windows Vista). You click the application and nothing happens. There are no errors in the Event Viewer that relate. In Task Manager I do NOt see any processes that look related
to Windows Mobile Device Center. Our Group Policy Objects are very lean and limited, and we do not have any policies that specify how Windows Mobile Device Center should behave. The only GPO that I could think would interfere with this is to prevent malware
and viruses, we have disabled Autoplay on removable devices.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

  • Not Connecting To Windows Mobile Device Center

I want to be able to connect with a Windows Mobile Device through Windows Mobile Device Center, within a Virtual Machine.  When connecting through the Hyper-V Manager and through Remote Desktop, under "Other supported RemoteFX USB devices",
I can see the Symbol USB Sync Cradle.  In the VM, in Device Manager, I don't see a USB connection.  In the VM, I don't see any meaningful errors in the Event Viewer.
Host:  Windows 8.1 Enterprise Hyper-V on a Domain.  Upgraded from Windows 8.1 Pro.  When this computer was originally installed with Windows 8 Pro, Hyper-V was enabled.  I removed Hyper-V, and installed VMWare Player, because I wanted
USB Pass-through.  I then uninstalled VMWare and installed VirtualBox.  Recently, I uninstalled VirtualBox, upgraded to Windows 8.1 Enterprise, and enabled Hyper-V.
Virtual Machine OS: Windows Server 2012 R2 on a Workgroup.  Started out with being a VMWare VM, using VMWare Player.  Moved to VirtualBox.  USB Pass-through was working in both those virtual environments.  Used Disk2VHD to convert the
    VM to a VHDX file.
    On the Host:
Windows Mobile Device Center is connected to a Motorola Windows Mobile Device (MC959X) sitting in a Symbol USB Cradle.  The OS on the scanner is Windows Embedded Handheld 6.5 Classic CE OS 5.2.29217 (Build 29217.5.3.12.26).  Advanced Networking

    Enabled RemoteFX.
In the RDP file, and in the Registry, added the GUID's for:

Thank you for your efforts. I have followed those instructions, but I am still not all the way there yet.

  • 700w not recognized by Vista with windows mobile device center

    please help:
i have a treo 700w that doesn't want to consistently connect to machine I am working on. when it works (rarely), it works fine, when it doesn't there is no explanation. I have restarted both computer and phone, and I can't seem to get a connection made.
Further I tried to uninstall/reinstall the windows mobile device center, i have removed the sync profiles on both my computer and phone, but nothing is seeming to work. I find it interesting that vista recognized my Smartphone USB device (it shows in the device manager), but that windows mobile device center doesn't show that anything is connected.
I am connecting via USB, but would be happy to connect via bluetooth, but when i try that approach, it only offers headset/wireless stereo (i'm looking for calendar/contacts/etc).
any direction would be wonderful - i have searched in google and subsequent pages for an hour already, and I'm thinking someone must have a better way.
    Thanks,
    -cb
PS - for those who are forum administrators, the registration process sucks: the password limitations are oddly strong for a simple forum like this, and when you don't put in a proper password from the get-go, it clears your prior selection of device/os/agreement registration, so when you fix the red flags (the password) and submit, it (and only then) tells you that you've forgotten to answer the questions below (that you had already answered before you were thwarted by the password reqs). sigh.
Post relates to: Treo 700w (Verizon)

    Hi AlanG,
I have tried multiple USB connections, and do not have another sync cable. No luck.
Though, your post gave me an idea and that was to use a safety pin to scrape the contacts at the bottom of the phone. I keep the phone in my pocket most of the time, so there was some visible grime, though i would have guessed that the connection could have been made (it wasn't that grimy, just not shiny).
The other thing that was interesting is that when it was plugged in previous to the cleaning it shows the device connected to be a " smartphone usb sync ". Post cleaning, it now shows as a " PocketPC ". I'm not sure what the difference is, nor if I should be hoping that it reads "treo 700w", but hey, can't look a gift horse in the mouth, right?
So, that, in addition with removing all partnerships on both the machine and the treo (and after restarting my phone) it finally connected.
Wow. What a remarkable pain.  Let's hope it keeps working.

  • How to run windows mobile device center via remote desktop

I am developing mobile application in Microsoft Visual Studio 2008. I connect to my computer via remote desktop and my operating system is Windows Server 2012 R2. In order to test the application, I use mobile device emulator. I can run device emulator but
