Mobile dictionary limited to 3 languages

I just got my first Nokia mobile phone, a 6730 classic, which I'm very happy with. However, there are some things I find strange. One example is the dictionary in Office -> Dictionary.
The application itself is nice, but I wonder why it's limited to 3 languages. Is it possible to unlock this somehow, e.g. by buying a full version?
Also, Spanish (and English, of course) came pre-installed, and I can't find a way to remove it. This means that I can only choose one additional language to install. Is it possible to remove Spanish? It's not listed in the remove language list.

I found the Spanish dictionary in system/data/dictionary and deleted it, so now I can have 2 user-defined dictionaries. However, I still wonder why it's limited to 2.

5530 Mobile Dictionary Language Package Install Pr...

My girlfriend is going to work in Brussels for several months, and you know, the official language in Brussels is Dutch. For the convenience of her daily life in Brussels, yesterday I tried to install the Dutch language package for the Mobile Dictionary in her Nokia 5530. Unfortunately, I failed.
I tried step by step as following:
1. Download the Dutch language package (Nokia_Mobile_Dictionary_nl.SIS) to my laptop from the official website of Nokia

2. Copy the install file to memory card by usb cable.
3. Start install in 5530, where the problem occured
"Unable to open. File type not supported"
I repeated the procedure above in my 5800, everything is OK.
So now I am confused with this problem.

It could be an issue with the file itself - try installing any other language to check if you still get a problem. If that works OK you'd have to contact Nokia and tell them of the issue.
I'm not sure why a fault with the phone would cause particular error message, there have been issues with s60 5th edition phones in the past, but they didn't give the same error. Nonetheless, it might be worth backing up the phone content with PC Suite, reformatting with *#7370# then trying to install the language again before restoring the backup.
For your information, Dutch isn't THE official language of Brussels, it's ONE OF the official languages of Brussels, the other being French. French is actually the most commonly spoken language in Brussels, and due to the large community of foreigners here to work in institutions like the EU, there are more people doing their day-to-day communications in English in Brussels than in Dutch. Nonetheless, some knowledge of one of the official languages is wise.

not sure that they do mate. That product harks back to the olden days where S60 3rd edition was around, so it has done well to even be still available on the Nokia website, as support for Symbian versions is no longer active.

hi mate, Nokia mobile dictionary is an old product now and support for Symbian and its constituents has officially ended now so there is nothing that can be done about this.

5800XM abc Mobile dictionary cannot show Japanese ...

My 5800XM is a Hong Kong version with firmware v21.0.101. I have downloaded the Chinese (Traditional, Hong Kong)
and Japanese language pack for the new abc Mobile dictionary.
The problem is that, after choosing a word in the first page, Japanese characters cannot be displayed in the second page. However, I can input Japanese characters in the first page and the words can be displayed correctly.
But there's no such problem when displaying Chinese characters.
Any ideas? Many thanks.

That's why I forced up the capacity storage on my iPhone 4S (16 GB) because there is not enough available storage to download when I received message "Cannot download" while updating those apps... I just hitting "Update" button too many times to retry update again, instead "Download" button too many times to retry again... FORCE UP TO INCREASE MORE CAPACITY STORAGE!!! Get earn up a free capacity storage from 16 GB to 256 or 512 GB if I want...

E 71 Mobile Dictionary Vanished

After a few weeks' usage I found out today that the mobile dictionary application in my E 71 has vanished, and just when I needed it.
I am sure it was there, preinstalled, and used it a few times.
I searched for it, found various language packs, but nowhere to redownload the actual application.
Could anyone help?

This s60 platform can sometimes be confusing.
I managed to get the dictionary on the active desktop where I can access it.

E66 and Mobile Dictionary

I have the Mobile Dictionary in the Office folder. Something like a year ago I managed to load it with three languages: English, Finnish and French. Now I tried to change French to Spanish, but this time I didn't succeed.
If I try to remove French by selecting 'languages' and 'remove language', the program ends without doing anything. (French stays as a language alternative.)
If I connect to Nokia's web page

and download and install Spanish, everything seems to go OK. After the installation Mobile Dictionary immediately goes to a state where it asks 'Remove language' and gives Spanish as the only alternative. If I answer yes, it removes Spanish. If I answer no, then Mobile Dictionary ends immediately. When restarting Mobile Dictionary again goes to the same 'Remove language' state.
I know I have succeeded changing languages before, but the software version has changed once or twice after that.
Is there some trick I should try?

PS The icon of Mobile Dictionary has the letters ABC but I notice that the icon on my phone is slightly different from that on the Nokia web page.

Mobile dictionary can't install on E90

Hello all, I've been attempting to install mobile dictionary to my E90 from NSU's software download.
But for unknown reasons refuse to install, is there anyone who have experienced the same?
Does it has anything to do with region?

BIP Report in Siebel mobile is not working in languages other than English

We have upgraded our Siebel from 7.8 to Siebel 8.1 and in that we have moved from Actuate to BIP Reports. We have created a customized report in which we have put in the Filters on '.rtf' file to show a particular set of data. This report is deployed for 3 languages : English (ENU), Portuguese (PTB) and Spanish (ESN).After deploying this report, on Web application, it is working fine for all the languages but we are facing an issue on mobile client, the report is only working fine in ENU but for other languages(PTB & ESN) it is failing (means the filter which we put on '.rtf' is not working on other languages).
Is anybody face this issue and what will be the solution for this?

I think you need to first translate the smartform into other languages. Before translation, it wont work.
Steps for translation:
1. goto Transaction SE63
2. in R3 Enterprise select form menu
Translation - ABAP Objects - Other long texts
3. select FS - SSF-Smart Form
4. Object Name: choose your smart form
5. select target language
6. press edit

Has FM 9 or 10 a better working dictionary for non-english languages?

I am using FM 7 (latest update) on Windows Vista.
As it is now, there's a limit of how many characters a word can have for it to be entered into the dictionary. We here in Sweden have 3 letters that are not present in the English language, å, ä and ö. In the dictionary these letters are replaced with 4 (!) characters each:
å is replaced by \x8c
ä is replaced by \x8a
ö is replaced by \x9a
If I have a long word containing a couple of those letters, it wont be added into the dictionary. That means that it doesn't alert me of misspellings and it hyphenates totally crazy. The only way to get around the crazy hyphenation is to add the - manually, and that is just not good at all. If I then add or remove words before there's a 100 % chance that I will miss removing the -.
We are thinking about upgrading to version 9 or 10. Is there a solution for this there? Is there still a limit? Don't they understand that other dictionaries are used and that some languages have longer words than the English language?

The workaround is a bit ugly because you don’t get any useful feedback in the marker dialog, but it works. The following images (made with FrameMaker 7.2) show the marker dialog before and after clicking "Edit Marker"
and the appearance in a List Of Markers document with visible special characters in a wide and in a narrow column.
In the wide column you can see the special symbol which is the placeholder for the discretionary hyphen. If this does not appear, try to reenter \x04 in the dialog.

Firefox spell-check dictionary switches to incorrect language when starting compose mail in Gmail

I have Firefox 11.0 with dictionaries for Lithuanian and Russian languages installed. It seems that no matter what dictionary language is selected, after I start composing mail in Gmail, it switches the dictionary language to Russian (it changes the spellchecker.dictionary property).
Steps to recreate:
1. Say, the dictionary language is set to Lithuanian in some way (the spellchecker.dictionary property is "lt")
2. Restart Firefox
3. Open Gmail page (spellchecker.dictionary is still "lt")
4. Start composing new mail - this is when the spellchecker.dictionary property gets changed to "ru"
(there are other, more complicated scenarios, when this happens, sometimes it is even enough to reload the Gmail tab)
Firefox general.useragent.locale property is "lt-LT", Gmail display language is "English-US". I don't know what other settings I should check. Of course, I could uninstall Russian altogether, but I do need it sometimes, so it would be nice to have, but not as a default language every time I open my mail.

Nokia Dictionary - switching between 2 languages

Hi,
I often use Nokia Dictionary and I think it's a nice, simple tool. But there is one, very annoying problem with it.
When I try to switch between languages (let's say I use Danish-Polish dictionary) and I want to reverse languages - Polish to Danish - each time I need to do it by choosing source and target language in menu. It tooks a lot of time and it's inconvenient.
I would like to do it faster. Is there any chance to add new position in menu or aditional button called "Reverse languages" or something similiar?
I hope you understand my suggestion. I use Nokia N8 (Symb. Anna)

WAAS Mobile Cluster limitation

Hi,
i want to design a wass mobile cluster solution.
currently i have a single cluster (Single site) comprised of two servers (primary and backup) in my main data center which is working.
i want to increase my backup by installing additional single server in each of the 3 backups data centers.
meaning, at the end i need single cluster comprising of 5 server which only one server acting as the primary. servers are not on the same LAN - need cluster over L3 WAN.
each data center gives me the same applications and data so no worry on that thing.
the question is can i do it ?, what is the cluster limitations ?

Yes you can configure redundant servers within a farm and redundant server farms in different data centers. A farm may contain a single server or multiple servers.

E66 Mobile dictionary

I tried to install Vietnamese language but the system told me it was already installed, and even if I replace it, I cannot see it in the list of available languages ???
If I try to remove it I cannot see it in the installed language ?
Did somebody already faced this problem ?

Simply change the phone's system date back to some day in 2012 or even earlier, run the installer to install the dictionary.
Don't forget to change the date back to today once done.

How can i set up the widget language translator on my imac since it is limited to certain languages?

as i click on f4 to use the translate widget i realized i am only able to use this translation to certain laguages , like i can not translate english to persian or arabic or other way around , i do remember i was able to use this widget , translating in many languges , but now there are only 12 languages in the list and mind(persian) is missing there. is there anyway to change or add more languages to this widget???
