Mobile E-mail Expired?

I recently got on the fairly new $35 prepaid plan, and I got the Samsung Intensity III.  I noticed the mobile e-mail application, and I decided to use it.  I found it much more convenient than using the mobile web e-mail, and then I noticed that it expired while I was at a conference today. 
Now I am faced with the choice of buying the application, which is $6.99.  I have no problem with a one-time purchase, but I noticed that it is only good for a month.  In addition, there is a warning about a $5 data fee.  Could anyone confirm or deny this information?  Thank you in advance.

BobbyS_VZWSupport is not correct about a few things.  He (or she) is also filling you with patronizing **.  Thanks, BobbyS, for making us feel like children!  If you go to most email websites via MiniOpera (the default browser for the Intensity III) then the email page will only partially show and is glitchy.  When I DID have the mobile email during the "we'll let you try it to get you hooked" introductory phase the app was even glitchy.  I would delete messages and when I logged on hours later via an actual computer some messages would still be in my inbox and unopened. 
When I received the message saying that I needed to pay $6.99 for a MONTH'S worth of a glitchy app I almost through my cheap pre-paid phone through the nearest Verizon storefront window.  Do these scammers really expect people to pay nearly seven dollars a month for a barely usable app when a premium Apple app only costs $1.99 or nothing at all!?!?!  When I asked a manager about this here in Lincoln, Nebraska he just stared at me with a blank face. 
I know I signed up for a cheap pre-paid plan and I can accept the fact that I don't have the capability to see my email on said phone/plan, but please, Verizon, don't expect people to be ****** about your schemes!  Maybe we should all switch to a cheaper provider like Cricket for a $55 premium unlimited everything plan...

    I have no idea what type of response to expect here.  It is pretty clear that Verizon has no regard for my needs as a 13+ year loyal customer.  My loyalty has remained because Verizon provides the services that I want and need at a fair price.  However with the retirement of the mobile e-mail app on my basic phone I no longer have the service that I have come to expect.  Mobile e-mail was presented as a feature when I signed a contract, and I pay an extra data fee each month to access the e-mail.  The application provided a good experience of e-mail and worked the way I expected an e-mail service to work.  I pay a web host for a private e-mail account - I do not use a common "cloud" provider like hotmail or Gmail.  These services use your private data for their own commercial purposes and I do not support them.  I do not wish to have a smart phone.  I have no desire to have the internet on 24/7 or everywhere I go.  I do have an ipad on wifi and every time I type something it pauses to look it up on the cloud to "enhance" my experience.  I assume the iphone does the same thing and I do not want it monitoring my every move.  Smart phones are too smart for me.  I simply want a device to send and receive e-mails the same way they have always been sent - from my device to my server.  Verizon's workaround of using the web browser is unacceptable to me.  Even if I save a shortcut, I still have to approve two dialog (opera https workaround and server certificate error), and then log in.  After I do that, the web e-mail client does not render on my phone.  Besides, it is stupid do download the entire UI onto the browser every time.  With the old application only the e-mail data was sent back and forth, then shown on the application.  Responses were quick and easy, like using a text message.  How would you like it if you had to open a web browser and login just to receive and respond to a text message?  That is what I am facing.
    If Verizon wants me to upgrade to a "More Everything" plan there are more legitimate ways to get me to change than retiring the most basic service on my phone.  The text message and phone calls I received were needless pandering to my "needs".  No real solutions were offered and I do not feel my concerns were taken into consideration.  I am extremely disappointed and will be seeking an alternative service provider.

    Thanks for the answer, but the external POP accounts I had in my MobileMe are working in my iCloud! I receive all the e-mails that are directed to those POP accounts, in my iCloud e-mail, since I migrated from Mobileme to iCloud. So, iCloud accepts external accounts, but i doesn't allow us to edit new configurations or to send e-mails using Pop Accounts through it. Very weird. Does anybody have a solution?

    I have a basic phone and the 9.95 data plan. I want to use mobile e-mail. When I try to use it, it says my trial subscription has ended. It then wants me to 'buy' it. I thought it was free since I have a data plan. Am I missing something here??

    I went to the online chat and they told me to just select the 'buy' option and that I would not be charged the $5.00 monthly charge since I already have a data plan.

    -> Clear Cookies & Cache

    -> Clear the Network Cache
    -> Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache.
    • Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
    • Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
    • Press "Cmd + Shift + R" (MAC)
    Check and tell if its working. Hope that helps.

  • Multiple Mobil.me mail accounts - synch issue

    Have a home/work mac pro with 10.5.6. Have mobil.me family pak with 5 e-mail accounts. Three for me. I had synched my main Mobil.me mail account on my iphone....all well and dandy, working fine for months.
    I added and synched two additional mobil.me mail accounts to my iphone, but on my iphone I don't get the apple mail "Notes" (under REMINDERS) for those accounts - like I do with my main (original and already synching very well) mobil.me account.
    Not sure if (or where) I've missed a setting, or whatnot, but I believed all those items under reminders for my new accounts should be showing up on my iphone under those individual accounts.
    Any thoughts, suggestions, or insights would be appreciated !

    Setup the second Exchange account in one profile would always keep prompting usernam/password. This is limitation of Outlook profile.

  • Mobile E-Mail - $9.99 Data Plan vs. $5.00 Monthly Charge

    My wife is due for her phone refresh, and I am looking at phones with good text capabilities primarily, but also with the ability to check e-mail from time to time.  I am having trouble gauging whether it would be a better deal to get the $9.99 data package, which includes Mobile E-Mail, or forego the data package and pay the $5/month for Mobile E-Mail only.  
    I do not have a perspective for how fast the MB's allowed under the data package would get eaten up by e-mail.  For Mobile E-Mail without data, does the time just take away from the monthly minutes of voice?

    When my mobile.me migrated to iCloud, most things seem to work except my me.com email. It's gone and, of course, I cannot log into mobile me and the mobile me mail account no longer appears on my devices. When, in iCloud on either Mac or iPad, I try to add my mobile me address, it tells me it's already taken and to please invent another. Don't want to: want the old one, because people have been using it. How did we manage, apple and i, to "lose" the connection to the mobile me mail account?  Color me baffled.

    If you go to http://me.com and log in, do you see any of your data there that should have been migrated?
    Did you migrate by going to http://me.com/move and logging in with your MobileMe email address?
    When you go to http://icloud.com in a browser you should see a login page. What happens when you log in with your MobileMe email address?
    Please make sure that this is what your are logging in with: you may have a different ID for iTunes and you should not be logging in with that.

    I'm having a problem creating a mobile me mail account.  I was signed up for find my iPhone on mobile me and nothing else.  Now I'm trying to do the mail part of iCloud and it's asking me to create a mail address.  When I try to create one with my user name, it says that user name is already taken, but it's taken by me!  How can I use my mobile me address on iCloud?  Can anyone help me?

    I'm connected to the Internet via wifi in a hotel. I can surf and use other Internet based apps, but my Apple mail ( I.e. Mail from my mobile me account) has stopped working. I have tried both push ( my default method) and manual fetch, but when I go to my Mail In box, the 'wait' wheel spins forever. The iPad doesn't let me view my mobile me mail in any other way, such as via Safari. What can I do?

    I just had an idea - maybe this hotel system doesn't support IMAP. As far as I know, this is the only way one can get MobileMe mails on an iPad. I have another account with a French ISP, and their IMAP service doesn't work here either, but I can get to them via webmail on Safari. Unfortunately Safari blocks this method on the iPad when it comes to MobileMe accounts. Can anyone suggest anything?

    You probably know that mobilme goes away in June this year. There are two ways to access your mail account on iCloud, either through Lion or via the web. Web access won't get you to all the benefits of iCloud but will allow you to get to Mail, Contacts, Calendar, and Find My iPhone.  See this FAQ: http://www.apple.com/mobileme/transition.html
    If you decide to go with Lion, the maximum memory you can install is 4GB, however the system will only use 3GB, which is enough to run Lion.     To begin with, I would like to try to explain Apple's confusing nomenclature in regard to iCloud.
    Apple have called the whole cloud thing iCloud, there are a number of features under the iCloud umbrella, some of which require their own login. iTunes is one of these, another is what Apple have unfortunately also called iCloud too.
    You can use the same Apple ID (account) to login to both iCloud and iTunes, but you don't need to and often users will login to each service using a different ID.
    The part that you need to remember is that the services available when you log into iCloud are completely different and unrelated to those when you log in to iTunes. Your iCloud login enables mail, contacts, calendars, find my phone, Back to My Mac, Documents & Data sharing and photostream, it does not affect any of your iTunes services.
    To avoid confusion when discussing your problem, when I mention iCloud, I am referring to the services under the iCloud login, Whereas I will refer to the whole cloud thing as The Cloud.
    You should create new iCloud accounts for the rest of the family so that you can keep your personal data separate, but you must continue to use the account you are using for iTunes in use by all of you, otherwise you will lose access to any content already purchased under that account.

    So i'm subscribed to the full adobe cc program but i'm unable to use lightroom mobile because its telling me my trial expired, i checked my licence its creative cloud, not a perpetual license, so thats supposed to be good.

    Looking on slim.nl site I see a CC-for 132,00 price and the only reference to Mobile I see is this (translated to English using Google):
    "In addition, you also have the right to different mobile apps such as Photoshop Mix"
    It is not clear the LR Mobile is included in this set of apps or not.  It is possible that LR Mobile uses more CC storage than some of the other apps and is not included, but this is just speculation.  You might ask the slim.nl people if LR Mobile is explicitly included or not.
    FYI, when I log into adobe.com and click Mobile on the menu there are quite a few apps listed, LR Mobile and Photoshop Mix being two of them:

    It may be that you need to talk to Adobe Customer Service and see if your AdobeID is linked with a product suite that include LR Mobile or not--if that is something they can tell from there side.  Users on the forums have no access to that type of information.  I'd suggest using the Chat for Adobe CS if you have it available in your location.
