Mobile Hotspot - Speed is very slow

Hi all,
i configured my ipone 6 (iOS 8.1) for a personal hotspot and connected my laptop via wlan to it.
Problem now is that the speed is ultra slow..only get around 30kb/s. When i use my phone (3G / UMTS) without personal hotspot everything is fine.
Please help.
Thx in advance.
Regards
Ronario

Tried the personal hotspot via usb...same result. max of 45 kb/s.
2 Weeks ago i did the same with my old htc one android phone and it worked perfectly.

    Hi,
There is no Report of any Outage or Downtime with any of the Azure Services.
Can you please confirm if you are still facing slow Speeds, it could also be a local network issue.
Hopefully you are not facing the issue anymore, IF you are still facing issues, I would recommend you create a support ticket if its affecting you production.

  • Oracle 10g xe:  speed is very slow

    Hi
I ve just migrated my application to oracle 10g xe but i found this small server very slow even not only slow but it holds all the resources of the pc that is running oracle 10g xe server. My application is a product and can be run on single pc. Can any body tell me how can i tune 10g xe to get my pc faster and what is the minimum requirement for 10g xe server because it is very problem for me to ask every customer to have 2.0 GHz pc with 1GB ram. At the moment i am use 1.7 GHz pc with 256 MB ram but it is horribly slow on it.
    Regards
    Faheem

256 MB of RAM is the minimum that Oracle will even install in (512 MB if you're using Vista). Assuming that the installer defaults to reasonably minimal memory configurations in that sort of environment (which I've not tested but seems reasonable given the defaults I've seen it choose), are you running anything other than Oracle on this machine? Since you're so close to the lower limit on hardware resources, running other applications at the same time Oracle is running could well be forcing it to page RAM at a frantic clip. If you're seeing a log of swapping going on and you have to run the other applications that are consuming RAM, you may be able to decrease Oracle's RAM utilization by decreasing the cache size, though that may have its own set of negative performance implications.
It's been a while since I've seen a business that had machines with only 256 MB of RAM in regular use. Heck, my web browser regularly uses 50 or 60 MB of RAM. If you are targetting that older hardware, though, you may want to consider other databases. Oracle Lite, for example is designed for small footprint applications.

  • My upload speed is very slow

hello I have 15/5 fios internet. My upload speed is extremely slow and it is affecting even browsing. I have a pc desktop windows 7 ~1 year old via ethernet to the router that was just sent to me by tech support to attempt to solve the problem. The new router is installed and it didn't solve the upload speed problem. Phone tech support told me to update my geforce 560 drivers but that didn't help either. Below are the speed test stats. Any other ideas? I've reset the system and power cycled the router as well. Another note is that the upload speeds are fine on the laptop connected via wifi? Strange. So I presume it is a settings issue with my desktop?

I have run a trace route to your IP and one route indicates 67 RT (ms) and another indicates 78 RT (ms) from my location in Maryland, and from what I see you are in Tampa. Another good reason not to post your IP. It could be a security risk for you, even though your router acts as a firewall. The response times to you do not look bad, but perhaps after loading the new drivers, you may need to optimize your connection again.
Also try the faster speed test even if you only have 15/5, and see if it makes any difference.
Have you run the optimizer? You must open your Internet Explorer by right clicking on it and selecting run as administrator. Then copy and paste this url into the open browser.

  • Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility client software has VERY slow file transfers from system on the VPN, about 1/10 of non-VPN.

I'm running Win7, and with the Software only AnyConnect Security Mobility client Version 3.1.04072
I've found that copying a file from a system on the VPN runs at about 1/10 the speed of getting a file from a system that is NOT on the VPN.

    first poster -
"Downloads from random internet sites are 5-10 times faster than anything from a server on the VPN."
Your corporate network may just have too little bandwidth, your taking a poor internet route between carriers (ISP's are often maxed out believe it or not), there is a speed an duplex problem or you have a bad MTU. test all of them. your pc's MTU should be 1300. MAX on all interfaces. use the setmtu.exe tool.
Jcohen - if you disable the IPS on the ASA does the slow transfer problem go away?

  • Why App Store Speed is very slow on Macbook Pro w/ Retina Display?

    Hi,
I'm facing few problems on my Macbook Pro w/ Retina Display in terms of Net Speed.
I live in Delhi, India. I have 8 MBPS Broadband Plan. I have a Windows PC too at my home and Galaxy S2 Smart Phone. Both gives an awesome speed of around 7 to 8 MBPS Easily.
But my Macbook Pro never gives a speed in App Store. It takes lot's of time to download Apps or Updates.
    Additional Details:
I'm using Airtel DNS as my connection is Airtel.
    202.56.215.54
    202.56.215.55
    For example see this:

EVERYONE is downloading that update right now - whenever I received a Developer Seed notice, it would take hours for me to download the new beta release, becasue so many others were downloading at the same time. Usually that little 840MB combo update would start out at 5 hours or so and then successfully download in 2-3 hours. So you're just going to have to be patient on this one.
If the Mac App Store is slow on other files, however - say you're downloading EverNote for the first time - then I would contact the MAS support folks - http://www.apple.com/support/mac/app-store/.
The 10.8.3 download is just going to be slow, however, because people all over the world are downloading it and there are just so many Apple servers and just so many copies of those files on the server.
So, on this one, just take a big breath and relax!

  • LAN upload speed is very slow on Satellite C650D-108

    Hey guys,
I have a problem with my Toshiba C650D-108 Notebook.
First, my english is a little bad... sorry for this.
My Upload-Speed via Ethernet is very very slowly (20 kb/s) , but via WLAN i have 14MB per Second! The driver and windows are new and reinstalled. The Ethernet-Cable etc. are fine. The Download-Speed via Ethernet AND WLAN is perfect (16 MB per Second)
    But why? Please help me!
    Thanks in advance!
    Greets

    Hello
How do you check the upload speed where do you upload something? Have you tested different browsers and different webspaces where you can upload files?
Usually the upload speed is depending on your Internet connection and not type of connection (WLAN/LAN).
Anyway, maybe updating the LAN driver would help. Just check the Toshiba website and reinstall LAN driver.

  • Windows 7 internet speed is very slow.

    Hi,
I have a MacBook Pro Lion 10.7.4 and I recently installed Windows 7 by using my install disc and through Boot Camp. I have installed the lastest drivers for Windows through the Boot Camp. Everything was fine except the internet speed on the Windows. It took a long time to load webpages and all my messages on Skype were pending which probably points to the slow internet I am getting from my wireless device. On the other hand, the speed of my internet was fairly fast with a download speed of 500 - 700kb/s on the Mac OSX. My download speed is about 30-50 kb/s on Windows. Is there a problem with my Windows drivers or maybe my wireless just doesn't like Windows?
    Thanks,
    Chris

What level of speed and bandwidth does your ISP say you should get?
I would look at the modem, the age of the router, etc.
Are you on DSL? does not sound like cable.
Run a test, see what this shows and look at the ping in milliseconds.
    http://speedtest.net/
It use to be, and I think is still true actually, that Windows has had faster I/O but it depends on your equipment and whether it is 'current' or not. Make and brand. Even if there are firmware updates or supported any longer.
Can you test with a wired connection? you have a tower, therefore it has two ethernet ports on the back, not a laptop. Distance and interference.
Get your ISP - see if they have forum, phone support is often a joke but forums can really provide help, whether your equipment is rented or not.

  • My Macbook Pro's speed is very slow and frustrating.

My Macbook Pro is about 3 years old and has gotten incredibly slow. I have some movies, pictures, and a bunch of PDF files saved to it but it doesn't seem like that should slow the computer that much. What should I do to speed it up? Is a full Factory reset in order? And, if so, would that fix the issues I am having? Any suggestions are appreciated.

A factory restore erases all your personal data on the disk and hopefully you have backed up everything to an external source just in case.
Not enough free space on the disk can slow your Mac down.
Control click your MacintoshHD icon on your desktop then click Get Info.
    You'll see:  Available and Capacity
Make sure there's at least 15% free disk space.

  • Jetpack speed became very slow

I've been using a Jetpack 5510L for several months. While it only gets about a 35% signal it's been very adequate for me with between anywhere beteeen 5 and 20 Mbps download speeds. A few days ago it dropped to around .25Mbps or less even though the signal strength is the same.  Could there be a problem with the tower(s) I get the signal from?  There was some lightning storms for a few days.  Could the device itself have become faulty (how would I tell)?  I've tried resetting, removing the sim card for a bit and many power off/on cycles but the speed hasn't improved.

Not sure this is the exact GSA contract format we have, but it shares some of the exact same text that our folks have shared with me.  So for your amusement: http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=3&ved=0CC0QFjAC&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.troyal.gov%2FCouncil%2FClerk%27s%2520pages%2FRes.%25202012-66.pdf&ei=XxyXU8SCKNatyAS724DYAQ&usg=AFQjCNGji-KeomTrvhCp_sNEJtXoerotLQ&bvm=bv.68445247,d.aWw
Some of the interesting bits are the prohibited stuff on page 8:
Unlimited Data Plans and Features (such as NationalAccess, BroadbandAccess, Push to Talk, and certain VZEmail services) may ONLY be used with wireless devices for the following purposes: Intemet browsing; (ii) email; and (iii) intranet access (including access to corporate intranets, email, and individual productivity applications like customer relationship management, sales force, and field service automation). The Unlimited Data Plans and Features MAY NOT be used for any other purpose. Examples of prohibited uses include, without limitation, the following:
continuous uploading, downloading or streaming of audio or videc programming or games; (ii) server devices or host computer applications, including, but not limited to, Web camera posts or broadcasts, automatic data feeds, automated machine-to-machine connections or peer- to-peer (P2P) file sharing; or (iii) as a substitute or backup for private lines or dedicated data connections. This means, by way of example only, that checking email, surfing the Internet, downloading legally acquired songs, and/or visiting corporate intranets is permitted, but downloading movies using P2P file sharing services and/or redirecting television signals for viewing on laptops is prohibited.
I don't see any language specific to throttling speeds, but I'm told it is in ours (buried in the contract language) and they are just now enforcing it.  Guess I'll dump the device and plan.

  • Fast download speed but very slow web browsing

    Hi all,
Ive had BT fibre optic installed as i could never watch netflix and browse on the internet at the same time on regular broadband. So when i run a speed test its showing 78mbs download with abouth 19mbs upload. However every page a go on is taking about 30seconds to open even google.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks simon

    hi
can you run the speed test again and post the screen shots. please run using ethernet cable.
http://speedtest.btwholesale.com/  after the first test run further diagnostics by entering phone number in top box.
    also run this https://www.btwholesale.com/includes/adsl/main.html
i had similar problems when first installed due to contractor refusing to move my hub upstairs so i had to run on wifi.
even though at the time i was getting 30-40mbps it seemed slower than my previous 6mbps standard broadband.

  • Download speeds are very slow but speed test is fi...

Hi, I did a speed test which returned a result of 36mb down and 8mb up so didn't really expect a slow download. I started a download on the iplayer which normally downloads at 28-30mb per second but it didn't get above 4mb which is not good.
    Anyone experiencing slow download speeds?

Speeds have gone back up to 21mb on the iplayer. Much better but still slower than usual.
When you get used to the fast speeds of Infinity, anything slower is immediately frustrating. Like having to go back to using my Pentium 75Mhz with windows 95.......horror
