Mobile Me CONTACTS not coming down to iOS4 and lost visual voicemail

I updated my 3GS to iOS4 and everything seems to be working, howver my contacts haen't repopulated the phone form Mobile Me. they are all still there on Mobile Me, but when I go to contacts on the iPhone, there are none and unlike previously, opening contacts on the phone does not force a sync (no spinning clock-wheel)...
I have tried turning off the Mobile Me setting on the iphone and then restarting it, but still no contacts...
I also lost my visual voicemail.... when I go to voicemail, it wants me to physically dial up voicemail...
Any ideas here?

Huh? A "bug" would affect all devices using the OS. I have no idea what you are talking about as push worked just fine here after allowing a little time for my phone to be re-provisioned by the network. That took longer than normal due, I'm sure, to the large number of folks trying to do the same thing I was. And we've all hear AT&T whine that we evil iPhone users are breaking their network.

Have you tried to reset it? Hold down the sleep and home keys for about 20 seconds and see if you can get it to reboot.

Yes, and, I try to restore. I have the T-Mobile sim card in it just to clarify. It will not let me get passed that, it does not accept the t-mobile sim card. i tried restoring it using wifi, cellular, and i cant get i tunes. I am scared that if i take the tmobile sim card out and put the at&t one in just to complete the restoration process that the iphone will lock again and not read the tmobile sim card, then all my hard work has gone for nothing. ( this whole process was caused by me trying wanting to empty my pictures onto my computer because i did not have any storage space left). <--- that may not be as important, but i included it just because.

I'm sorry if I misunderstood you. But it looks like there's some confusion here.
Confusions and mistakes are usually caused by false assumptions.
CUPC gets LDAP attributes from LDAP directly. CUPC does not retrieve those attributes from CUPS.
If you're troubleshooting double-click on CUPC, the CUPS presence viewer doesn't help at all.
When you double-click a contact in CUPC, CUPC dials the number in "BusinessPhoneNumber". By default "BusinessPhoneNumber" is mapped to "telephoneNumber" in Active Directory.
If you cannot double-click a contact to dial, that's because "BusinessPhoneNumber" was blank.

Contacts not coming up on new iphone?

So i had to warranty my iphone 5 today, got a brand new one, rather than restoring from back up i want to just set it up as new and get my contacts on here, even when logged into icloud nothing is coming up, theyre all stored in icloud i can see them in icloud.com

Guess i just needed to give it time, all the ones from icloud.com are there. a bunch i dont want too haha oh well guess i need to edit them.

Good Mobile Messaging Contacts not fully integrate...

I have recently switched from a Treo 650 to a Nokia E61 with Goodlink software. Everything works perfectly apart from the Goodlink software is not in sync with incoming calls. I have found the following FAQ on the goodlink website http://www.good.com/faq/17803.html I am unable to find the option "Copy to Nokia contacts” feature within Good’s menu item to copy a Good contact to the native Nokia contacts database.." as suggested in FAQ 17803. Does anyone know how to do this please. If so could you be so kind to provide me with a step by step instructions on how i do this please. Thanks in advance John

If you want to check that you have the latest ROM (at the time of writing this is only available to unbranded Nokia devices AFAIK) type *#0000# whilst in the standby screen. Mine appears as: "3.0633.09.04 20-11-06 RM-89 Nokia E61"
The latest Good Client is v4.9.2.30. You can check this by hitting 'G' in any Good application to go to the launcher screen, then hit 'H' to go to preferences, then Click 'About...', version info will be at the top. If you don't have this then speak to your Good Administrator and get them to push it out to you).
Some of the improvements you should see if you have the latest Good Mobile Messaging client and latest ROM are:
CLI - Incoming calls are identified by contact if that contact is present in the Good Contacts database
SMS - Incoming SMS/MMS messages identified by contact, Outgoing SMS/MMS can use contact name in 'to:' field and lookup will run against the Good Contacts database
'Add to Contacts' adds to Good Contacts
Selecting 'New Message'/'Create Message' in 'Messaging' give 'Good Messaging' as an option
Home Screen - Native calendar is no longer displayed on the standby screen (this removes the erroneous 'No upcoming appointments' message)
Local 'PC Suite' sync - This is disabled (just sync, not backup etc.) so as to avoid conflicts, duplicate contacts, etc. in Outlook
As a side note, if you wish to display an inbox such as your SMS inbox on the active stanby screen you can do this by going to:
(Nokia applications) Settings-->Phone-->Standby Mode-->Active Standby Mailbox. Choosing 'Inbox' sets the device to display your SMS messages on the Standby screen

Web Part Zone "ID" not coming down to HTML

I have added web part zones to a page layout using sharepoint designer.. I used snippets to get a web part zone and paste it into my html page layout file. I gave my web part zone a custom id for tabs that I am trying to set up. When I render my page the
zone is there but it does not get the ID that I am registering in the code, it doesn't get any id.

Why won't my Web Part Zone's ID register down to the HTML that is rendered?
I've tried adding the ID on the data-name: Web part zone div but that also does not work.
Any suggestions?
I've seen several references online where people have custom ID's like mine on their Web Part Zones... what am I doing wrong :/

Group Policy not coming down on some machines

Client 4.83SP1
Windows 2k SP4
Netware 5.1
eDir 8.7.3
Zen 3.2
Symptom:
After several agonizing days of going through the TIDs and turning on
debugging and checking all file dates on the workstation in question, a
working laptop and the public folders on the servers I've come up with the
following but I don't know the cause:
The workstation in question (and there are sporadic workstations with the
same problem) finds and uses the Container Policy (ZEN3 version) then reads
the User Package but will not execute the binding orders of the Group
Policy. As a matter of fact, I turned on Group Policy logging (TID
10058023) and a file is never created. Also, the Group Policies subkey in
the "HKLM/Software/Novell/Workstation Manager". I turned on ZenPOL32
logging and compared my laptop which is working to the workstation in
question. First, they are not applying the policies in the same order (DLU
is always first, but after that, the order is hap-hazard). But, I also see
some sections that make me wonder why the workstation is giving up. These
files are huges so I'd rather not post in this, but I'll put the pieces that
are raising my eyebrows:

If anyone has ideas I would love it. Uninstalling the 4.83sp1 client and
reisntalling did not help. I've DSREPAIR'd the tree several times with
Rebuild Operational Schema. WHen I uninstalled 4.83sp1 I checked the
registry and the Novell subkey was cleared out.
I'm burnt out on this one. If you want both log files, please post your
email address without the @ symbol and I'll fire them off to you.

Here's the skinny on our situation.
1) We do not let the users update MS patches in our district. We do them
manually (still).
2) We are running the 4.83sp1 client on Win2k (have not got around to
upgrading to 4.90sp2). Our A/V had broke on 4.90 and we had to back it down
last year. So, XP machines are at 4.90sp2.
Win2k machine last had MS patches applied on 7/11/05 - this is a critical
point.
First, I discovered that the Policy Object in the tree was "corrupt" for
some of the 4.83sp1 clients. I'm betting all of them. Because the
zenpol32.dll was "seeing" the group policy objects but it was looking for a
zenpackage = effective in the log file. It was never initiating the
wmgrppol.dll to bring down and implement the group policies. Recreated the
policy object in the tree (not the Group Policies - reused the same folder)
and now the zenpol32.dll was operating properly but, still not getting the
NAL as the desktop. But, now the windows desktop was locking down but late,
very late. I would get the desktop and click on START and see the entire
start menu. Wait 10 seconds and secedit kicked in and now I had a
locked-down START menu.
Second, secedit appeared to be very delayed or wmgrppol.dll was having
trouble. I noticed this machine required 7 critical patches (one is the
genuine tool so really six patches). The last time patches were applied was
on 7/11/05. I noticed also that when I wanted to turn on secedit logging
(gpextensions registry keys) that even after a reboot there was no log file.
Apply the critical patches and now the NAL immediately works as the desktop
shell.
I worked on this problem for and entire work week plus some after hours
work.
Side note: Our XP machines with the 4.90sp2 client did not have a problem
seeing the Group Policy package in the tree. Only the 4.83sp1 client. So,
recreating the policy in the tree only helped the 4.83sp1 clients. Also, I
don't believe MS broke secedit in XP because they changed it to gpupdate.exe
so I'm betting it's a different configuration and the patches that broke
Win2k did not get applied to XP.
There is nothing on MS site that I could find about this nor does Novell
seem aware (or even care since it's 4.83sp1 and Zen3.2sp1). Maybe this post
will save somebody a lot of headache. If they keep MS patches up to date
they probably will never notice this problem unless they hit it over the
summer after MS released the secedit patch that broke it.

All contacts not syncing with curve 8900 and desktop 7

I've been trying this for a year and I've had no success. This 8900 is my 4th Blackberry. While I've done backups with the others this is the first time I've tried to sync the info. When I first synced I thought everything was OK, but then I noticed a lot of the contacts didnt sync. A lot of iportant ones. I've tried everything and hit a wall. I've gone thru all the 395 contacts, deleted a bunch, fixed a bunch and made everything ready. I've talked to Microsoft, AT&T and the BB folks and still nothing. When I synced it to my PC, 179 of 395 synced and the Outlook folder size is 297kb. I just synced to my laptop and only 124 synced and the folder size is 120kb. I checked the options on the 8900 contact list and it shows my gmail address as the name of my Contact list. I've NEVER loaded my gmail info on this or any other BB. I checked my gmail and there are NO contacts listed. Never have been. I followed the instructions, went to Default Services and there is no Contacts option, only Calendar and Messaging which have my primary email ([email protected]) as the services. I have loaded info for the Netzero email, Roadrunner email and Blackberry email. Did load the Yahoo account name but never connected it. Just checked the service books and there is no gmail info. There'sno option to rename the contact list and I can't see if there are any subfolders under it. I HAVE TO GET ALL THIS INFO TO A PLACE WHERE I CAN ACCESS IT TO TRANSFER TO A NEW NON-BLACKBERRY PHONE. I've literally spent hours researching, talking on the phone and it is still not working. I lost 3 days on it this we3ek that I was supposed to be on the other coast of Florida visiting a High School beauty thats down for a week, a cousin that's fighting cancer and a musician friend. I worked on the highest problem parts of the Space Shuttle Boosters and worked thru some seemingly impossible problems. As a result I had a mental breakdown and now have to depend on othersm whicdh I never did before. Seems like everybody that could help or might have info isn't sharing. I CAN'T BE THE FIRST PERSON THAT'S HAD THIS PROBLEM. PLEASE HELP ME!!!

Spry Menu not dropping down in Firefox and Chrome

Hi -
I am not a professional and having difficulty. I have inserted a spry menu bar in CS5 and it looks fine in IE, but doesn't drop down (can see a little bit) in firefox and chrome.
I read a bunch and tried a fix to make the overflow visible, that fixed the problem but my formatting of locations of other areas went wild.

Why aren't my contacts not syncing between my iPhone and iPad ?

I normally add contacts onto my iPhone and I noticed that the new ones are not appearing on my iPad contacts so I end up having to share them via messages or email. Anyone know why this is happening? Thanks.

First things to check is to make sure iCloud is on on both devices and you are signed I n to the same account on each device. Also check to make sure Contacts syncing is on on both devices.

When texting someone and they reply their replies are not coming through to me and they are being told they are texting the wrong Ipod number....help!

I tried to text my moms phone yesterday and she said she replied but I never got it....a couple hours later someone texted her and said she was texting the wrong number. I had to have my iTunes re-enabled because my account was compromised, could they have given my old number to someone else if so how do I get a new nukmber for my ipod for texting?

You don't need to login to these workstations at all
for the registry to take effect. All you need to do is let the workstations sit in the OU and "soak" the new policy , then restart the stations remotely/manually once or twice. I have about 60 OUs that work this way.
the only other 2 things left are: 1) check if policy replicates to all DCs 2) format reinstall that client or use 2-3 different clients and 2-3 regular PC workstations to test the settings. the 2nd option will confirm if the DevotIT locked the registry settings
down or not.
I am using two computers to check this and one uses Windows Vista, the computer configuration settings are being applied, but when I do a gpresult /h c:\report.html and have a look there are no registry entries in there. When I
do the same thing on the thin client, the registry entries show up in the report.html file. Why would that be? Is there an issue with Windows Vista?
Also, how can I troubleshoot the replication without creating folders on sysvol. I don't want to mess with sysvol folder.
Do you know what the Error message means? I am trying to search for it but haven't really found much. Is there maybe a listing of errors with GPOs?

They are supposed to be the same numbers correct?

I created a new OU and new policy from scratch. No modifications at all and all new names. There should be no conflicts at all. Still getting that error. No matter how many times I reboot and
no matter what domain server comes up, I still get the same thing. Both my vista computer and thin client have been moved over to the new OU.
I might create a new thread to put more attention on this issue.

HT201210 my ipod will not shut down both itunes and ipod have frozen. I have restarted but no change

While trying to update the ipod both the itunes and ipod have frozen and I am unable to fix it \. I have restarted the both and let run for 8 hours with no results.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
