Mobile me gallery on iweb

How do I publish a mobileme gallery on my website?
I dragged the widget down and it says 'no movies or albums to display' though I have four albums in my mobile me photo gallery. Even weirder, one of the widgets worked with one album.
Any ideas??

Welcome to the discussions. Are the albums in your MobileMe Gallery password protected or "hidden"? ...If so, temporarily unset those preferences, restart iWeb and see if there's any difference.

Adding a mobile me gallery to iWeb tells me i have no photos in the gallery

5 minutes earlier, I added a mobile me widget to my iWeb, but when i tried again, it told me to upload photos to the gallery as if I have no photos there. I tried several times more, still no success.
Can someone help?

Now that you can find the photos lets go thru the fixes again.
First:
1 - go to the System/MobileMe preference pane and log out of MMe.
2 - login with a bogus username and password like "test" and "test". This clears the caches.
3 - login with your correct username and password.
4 - launch iWeb and try again.
Next:
1 - close iWeb.
2 - delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iWeb.plist, that resides in your Home/Library/Preferences folder.
3 - go to your Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder and delete the contents.
4 - reboot.
5 - launch iWeb and try again.
By the way how much free space do you have on your boot drive?

Increasing Mobile Me Gallery on iWeb Page

I am inserting a MobileMe Gallery into my Web Page. Unfortunately the size is to small 160 x 140.
I want to at least double the size.
I click on the outer edge and find the 6 small boxes that would normally allow increase/decrease
and no change of cursor when over the box.
I have looked in Inspector and the size cannot be altered.
Is there any way to increase the size.
Any assistance gratefully appreciated.

That size if fixed by iWeb. However, you can embed the gallery itself into an iWeb page, using any of the modes, mosaic, grid, etc. as in this demo page: MobileMe Galleries and Quicktime Movies. But changing the size of the widget is a user function. You can send a feature request to Apple via http://www.apple.com/feedback/iweb.html.

IWeb and Mobile Me gallery?

I am using iWeb to create my web site but publishing my photos from iPhoto to the mobile me gallery. In iWeb I am using the Black theme where it puts the main links to the different pages across the top. I would like to add a link there that goes to the gallery.me.com page. how do I do this??

iWeb: you don't need to save anything from the iDisk - iWeb does not open html files. Your iWeb sites are held in (user)/Library/Application Support/iWeb in a file called Domain. So even after MobileMe terminates you will still be able to open iWeb and see your sites, you just won't be able to publish them to MobileMe. You can publish them to any other webspace - please see this page:

Gallery: if your albums arre synced with iPhoto or Aperture then the pictures are on your Mac anyway. If not, and you don't have local copies (which is always a risky procedure) you will have to download each picture separately. Alternatively there is an online photo gallery service called ZangZing which provides an easy import facility from various other services including MobileMe's Gallery. It's free until June 2012 after which the first 2GB is free with escalating price levels starting at $5 per month or $50 a year.

Mobile me gallery in Safari

I added a mobile me gallery to a page in iweb 09 using the mm widget.
the gallery displays fine using a computer browser, but in safari on the iphone the pictures dont appear. I have to create a seperate link to the gallery to get them to appear.
any ideas?

obviously replace userid with your MobileMe login but the iPhone does challenge you for your ID properly and will let you view the gallery.

Lost Links to MobileMe Gallery on iWeb after updating to Snow Leopard

I recently updated my OS to Snow Leopard. I appear to have lost all of my past iWeb links to my MobileMe Galleries. It is so frustrating. This is a lot of work from the past. All of the pictures still appear on Mobile Me Gallery but the iWeb site does not recognize them. The place where the pictures used to be now has a white box with text "Upload album or movie to MobileMe and then select it from this widget's menu." Why! When I try to use the MobileMe Gallery widget like I did in the past, it sees none of my galleries! Does anyone have any idea what is wrong? Thanks.

Hi I just made one of my few visits to these forums because I had a problem kinda similar to yours. It was sending me nuts. Main indication of the problem was that when I went to add an album widgit it didn't show any of the albums I have in iphoto and no other fiddling back and forth republishing and the like fixed it. This was after working properly earlier in the day. I have just started to build a new website with iweb.
I then updated to the latest version of iweb, that is 3.0.1, and yes you guessed it, now its working fine. So just in case i thought i would mention what worked for me tho i see others with different fixes to the same problem. So this worked on my 2.4 MBP running 10.5.6 and iweb 3.0.1.

Size on Mobile Me Gallery

Does anyone know how to make a Mobile Me Gallery larger than 320x256 pixels? Dragging it doesn't work and the inspector won't let you change the numbers to anything larger. Is this a built in limitation? Thank you in advance or your help.

That seems to be the limit for MMe galleries added that way. Send Apple a feature request at http://www.apple.com/feedback/iweb.html.
However, you can embed an gallery in a web page. In this demo page I embedded the mosaic mode of an MME gallery rather than the top grid mode.
This demo page has other methods of linking to a MMe gallery. One is to use a photo from the gallery and link the photo to the gallery. You can make the photo as large as you'd like.

Perhaps this is more of an iWeb question than an Aperture question, but here it goes.
My question is: Can you integrate Aperture/Mobile Me galleries into iWeb? If so, do they maintain their formatting and features (eg, mosaic display, passwords for clients, etc)?

A gallery can be integrated into your website by linking to it.
If you want to have the gallery in the main navigation you will have to hide the standard one and build your own. The gallery link in this menu will be an external link and should be set to open in a new window so that viewers don't have to use their back button.

Getting photo from mobile me gallery to contact

can anyone tell me how to get a photo from the mobile me gallery onto a contact in the address book.?

You are extremely helpful!!! Thanks. I went into my Free Agent peripheral hard drive and searched for the domain files and, sure enough, they were there. I clicked on them and all of my old websites opened up in iWeb 08 (I also saved that entire program on this hard drive). The only problem I have now is when I click on the iWeb icon in my dock, iWeb 08 opens and iWeb 09 is no longer there with my newer sites! I'm sure I can open that by clicking on the newer backed up domain files and I assume it will automatically open up iWeb 09. Again, many thanks for your help. One of my sites I use for my business and it is quite a complex secure site with about 50 downloadable documents on it. If I had to rebuild that, it would have taken a long time!!!

Can not view mobile me gallery videos on IPHONE

Can any body tell me why i can not view my mobile me gallery videos on my Iphone? When i bring up my gallery on my phone it only shows some of my posted video not all of them and the time has 0:00. If you try and play it you get an error message.

When you send an email announcement for others to view a MM gallery, you can Bcc yourself with the message - to your MM address.
If you store all sent messages on the server, you can access the sent message in your MM account's Sent mailbox. This will provide you the link to your MM gallery, which you can bookmark for later use or create a web clip which will be placed on your iPhone's Home screen for faster access.

But he has small thumbnails... how do I get my thumbnails really small? I know he used a different theme then I did but when I uploaded to mobileme it said it was generating thumbnails, I'd like them way smaller.
If I get this figured out then I can put it in an iframe in my iWeb, correct ? First I need to figure out how to do the Aperture Gallery.

You can just make the gallery in iWeb, you don't need to make the web page in Aperture first.

How to post Adobe Bridge Gallery to iWeb???

You can embed the gallery into an iWeb page using iFrame code in an HTMl snippet. This is the code:

Correct. Go to the Go menu and select the iDisk ➙ My iDisk... menu option. When the iDisk is mounted on the Desktop go to the iDisk/Web/Sites folder and open it. Then drag the folder into the iDisk/Web/Sites folder.

You'll need to set the height and width, in pixels, so the gallery is fully visible.

Problem using email to upload image files to Mobile Me gallery

I will cross post this question to both Mail and Mobile Me discussion groups because I don't know where my problem lies.
I have published a gallery page from iPhoto to my Mobile Me gallery. There are two ways to upload additional photos. I am not having trouble adding image files with the Upload feature. I cannot get the email function to work. The emails I send to the email address for the gallery bounce back to my mail inbox.

One of the images I am trying to attach is a jpeg file of 61 kb.
I have tried to drag the image from my desktop to the body of the email. I have tried using the "attach" function and selecting the file name. I am not sending any text with these files.
When I built these albums, I checked and enabled all the options.
I am having this same issue when I try to upload via email to any of my Mobile Me gallery pages.
There is currently one photo displayed here:

If anyone wishes to try to upload to that gallery using email (Send to Album) that would be great and if successful, that might provide a clue to my problem.
As I say, I currently have one photo there. If you find a lot more, please do not add.

The images I am trying are newly created and old.
A weird hint perhaps...
I just copied an image from Apple's home page and pasted it into the email and tried again...
it worked.
So I tried again, dragging from iPhoto and it did not work... the email bounced back.
So I tried again, this time using copy and paste (like I did from Apple's page) from iPhoto... it did not work.

Web Gallery vs. iWeb?

I'm not sure I understand the difference between the Web Gallery and iWeb. You can add galleries on both?
How do you remove a gallery from the Web Gallery after you install it? I was trying to install multiple galleries by doing the shift click then figured out iPhoto was combining all the galleries into one. I aborted and it said it was deleting it off the WG. It did not. The pics it did upload are there and I can't figure out how to delete.

Web Galleries from iPhoto differ from iWeb photo galleries in that the iPhoto galleries are run from software on Apple's servers (you only upload four versions of each photo and the server side software does the rest. With an iWeb photo gallery you have design control over how that gallery will look, comments under the thumbnails and that gallery may be part of a greater site with other pages. Then the photos and other supporting files are uploaded to be combined into an HTML based web page. The iPhoto gallery is java driven I believe.
All iPhoto galleries are part of one gallery. To delete an iPhoto gallery you delete the web gallery in the iPhoto library. The photos will be deleted from the iDisk and no longer show in your gallery.
The iPhoto one is much easier and quicker to create but can only be the one style. With the iWeb variety you can change the background, add music to the site. The two slideshows are different also.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. Slideshows on Gallery and iWeb

Can I send a slideshow to either or both my .Mac Gallery or iweb site so others can view it?

Yes and no. You can send your slideshow to iWeb to be included into an iWeb page. But for a web gallery you have to start with an album of photos (they can be the same album that you used to start your slideshow) and then create a web gallery from it. In essence you can have the same pictures in both items but they will slightly different. The web gallery will not have any of the fancy stuff you can put in a slideshow. Also the slideshow will be larger and take longer to load for anyone viewing that iWeb site.
