Mobile Me has lost ALL of my info including contacts...
The last sync to my laptop does not contain any of the info that is SUPPOSED to be stored on MobileMe's server. No photos, contacts, emails, etc...
The Genius Bar people said this is common and simply gave me a new phone. Is there not a MobileMe server that actually has this information backed up as all of their materials state. Is there not a back up for the back up in case the server goes down?

How many others have had this problem as well? Were you able to get your info back?
Photos captured by your iPhone and photos transferred from your computer to your iPhone via the iTunes sync process are not stored on MobileMe servers - with the exception of a MobileMe gallery created with iPhoto, but you can't select a MobileMe gallery under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes - you can select iPhoto albums or events stored locally on your computer's hard drive only.
If you are syncing contact info and calendar events over the air with your MM account on your iPhone, this is not included with the iTunes sync process. The Address Book and iCal on your Mac are kept synchronized with the MobileMe server if you have automatic syncing enabled with your MM account on your Mac, or you can manually sync the Address Book and iCal on your Mac with your MM online address book and calendar.
Email account mailboxes and messages are not included with the iTunes sync process either. If you created your MM account with the iPhone's mail client using the MobileMe account preset, the email account was created as an IMAP account with the iPhone's mail client. All server stored mailboxes with the account are kept synchronized with the server automatically with the iPhone's mail client.
Is your contact info and calendar events available with your MM online address book and calendar when logged into your MM account using a browser on your computer? Does the contact info in the Address Book on your Mac and your calendar events in iCal match your MM online address book and calendar?
If so, do you have over the air syncing enabled for contacts and calendars with your MM account on your iPhone?

Thank you for your response, I went throught each and every step without any luck, even got the recovery programme, and painstakingly tried to sift through all that mumbojumbo to find what i needed. finally found the bookmark bit, but it had been fully overwritten :(, so on reading about previous ff versions, found the sqlite thingys, and they were relatively unscathed(partly written over, but saveable apparently TG), saved them to adiff drive, amongst other possibly good folders. Then looked up how to install them, and it said to close FF, and install to profile folder.
So i tried to close FF, and the original problem from a few days ago, where it asked me if 'i was sure i wanted to close this window as it has X tabs open', popped up again. This is where 'open blank page' selection was set, over 'open previous tabs'. Wanting to save that info on how to sort out these friggin files, I reset the Option to 'open previous tabs', and closed FF. After unsucessfully searching for the profile folder on my laptop, i opened FF intending to search online for where i could find said folder.
AND BANG, surprise surprise, the FF I had just closed with only tabs open about finding out what the heck to do, had disappeared, and instead my original saved tabs were up, and my bookmarks are there..... I am gobsmacked! what the heck just happened there???
I have made 3 back up in different folders now, of those friggin bookmarks. I am weary now tho of shutting it all down.... what if its back to the other pages I had with no bookmarks, tomorrow :( -

it's just as good as lost, if there is no way to load the info in that folder into a new reader.
i followed that path, ~/Library/Mail/V2/RSS, and I have almost 40 rss feeds. that means
there are nearly 40 folders that I would have to go into, one by one, and extract the pertinent
information, and import, one by one, into a new reader.
this is a problem that Apple created. I would have never used the mail.app as a reader
if I knew Apple was going to do this to us. And it makes you wonder what else Apple is
going to do to screw us loyal customers over. (why would they discontinue a feature, knowing
that it would mean lost data and a headache to their customers?)
does anyone have an automated solution to importing these files into a new reader? -
My iphone has lost all data when trying to sync with my computor.
I have an pad with most info on, but not keen to sync with that incase that data gets lost!

ICal has lost all events after upgrade to 10.8.3.
iCal has lost all events and calendars except for birthdays after upgrade to 10.8.3. If I sync to my iPhone, will it wipe them from the phone, or will it get the events from the phone?
I have Time Machine working, but am unsure how to restore calendars from it.
PLEASE HELP.Not sure why you think having to re-authorize would indicate an incompatibility or problem with their software unless you meant you have to keep re-authorizing the plugin?
Some plugins need re-authorization when you change a certain file or files in your system.. or if the file structure itself changes.. or the drive is renamed for example.. It could simply be that IK used a different form of authorization routine to their other plugins or versions of their plugins, with Amplitude 2.... Nothing to do with an incompatibility...or problems.
Anyhow I am happy you got the matter resolved and yes, random bursts of white noise is a classic sign of a plugin running in demo mode and needing authorization or re-authorisation as I suspected in your case. -

My Contacts File in Applications has lost all name and addresses - how can I retrieve them?
Out of the blue my Contacts File in Applications has lost all my names and addresses. Is there any way I can retrieve them? On my back-up systems they don't appear either. Panic!

Alothogh I could not find help on any of the Communities (that I could acyually understand) - I haven't a clue what I have just done but ALL my addresses have now shown up in Contacts. Wish I knew what I had 'clicked" to achieve this - but as I have been "clicking" just about everything in sight - I am not sure what did the magic trick.
Maybe, although I have answered my own query, someone could perhaps tell me what may have happened? I THINK it was something to do with iCloud --- which is something I don't understand AT ALL!

I run my iTunes via a external hard drive, however it has lost all it's contents and I haven't backed up! What can I do?
My iPad contents probably 75% of my iTunes library, but I'm scared to sync just in case in wipes the entire contents. I know I should of backed up but it was one of them jobs I never got round too (will def do now if my problem is solved)
Can anyone help with a solution?

Cobwebs73If all of your media is from iTunes, don't worry about it. You can either transfer everything on your iPad from your iPad to your commputer; and/or you can redownload from iTunes all music and apps, and most of everything else.
If any of your media is from other sources, that's not so easily recoverable. If it's on your iPad, you can transfer it to your computer via a third-party application such as Senuti. (There are many alternatives to Senuti, some work just as well and are free.) Anything from non-iTunes sources and not on your iPad is completely gone, unless you have CDs or other physical media from which you obtained it stored somewhere.
At least now you know how important it is to have a backup. -
I am so unhappy, I bought my daughter a mac for her birthday and it is completely broken, she took it to the store in London, they told her it is corrupt, it won't turn on and she has lost all her business records and photos. I am her mum and not technical. It cost me so much for her birthday what on earth do I do now. They said she has to fix it herself!!!!!
And does she have current backups of all her important files?
Operating a business with a computer and not keeping current backups is a very dangerous thing to do. Hard drives can fail at any time. Experienced IT people will tell you there are two kinds of hard drives - those that have failed and those that are going to fail. The only question is when.

One event in iPhoto version 9.6 has lost all the original photo information, and views the photos as very small.

Blackberry Playbook has lost all its Wi-Fi connections
My 2011 Playbook has lost all it's Wi-Fi connections. I have tried reconnecting at home and at work and no luck. I was advised to do a reset/security wipe which I did and now I can't even get past trying to set up a Wi-Fi connection. Any solutions or is it the bin for the Playbook?
I'm hoping that you don't have a hardware issue with the wifi card in the tablet.

You have to connect to a wifi network in order to get setup. I don't think you can skip it.
