Mobile number withheld recently

Hi,
I have a Samsung Tocco Lite using PAYG with Vodafone. Until recently there was no problem calling home to my BT landline, with my number being displayed OK. Now, when I call, the number is displayed as withheld.
I know that the number is being sent by the Tocco/Vodafone because when I call my husband's mobile he sees that it is me.
Even stranger is that my husband has the same Tocco Lite, only PAYG with Orange, and the number is not withheld when he calls home.
I am very confused and wonder if there can be some way of sending out a number that can be identified differently by landline and mobile phones. These don't seem to be any settings in the actual mobile to withhold numbers, rather a code is dialled before the desired number.
I really need to get this fixed because we block withheld calls and it's not much good if I can't even call home.
Cheers,
Joan

Is the number stored on your phone prefixed with 141? this would withold the number when you dial home.
There should be no difference calling a mobile to a landline as far as witholding a number.

    Hi there
I’d be happy to help with this messaging error! This will be due to the device storing the number incorrectly. Please do the following to resolve the issue:
Delete texts from both old number and new
Delete any call logs including these numbers
    Delete old number from contacts
    Delete new number from contacts
    Restart device
Send text to the new number directly (do not save as contact)
Once the text sends successfully, you can then save as a new contact
    I hope this helps!

    Hello,
I got an email saying "Thanks for contacting us. WE'RE HERE TO HELP. This email is to confirm your recent inquiry regarding a feature change on mobile number ending in XXXX."  The problem is, I don't remember inquiring about anything the last couple weeks.  Is there a way I can speak with somebody who can tell me what inquiry was made?
    Thanks in advance

This is odd if it's not something you requested or inquired on higherbudget. We can certainly clarify things. As Elector mentioned, you can call into Customer Service to get this information. Otherwise, I sent you a Direct Message as well.

  • How to remove OLD mobile number (I don't have access) from iMessage?

    Hello,
I have a problem which I could not find a solution for it yet, Please help me if you had an experience on this matter.
I can not remove the mobile number I DO NOT have now from iMessage.
I did try to disable/enable iMessage many times but had no luck on it. After activating the iMessage with new number,
I can still see the old mobile number in the list of [ YOU CAN BE REACHED BY IMESSAGE AT ] in the Setting>iMessage>Send&Receive.
I don't want to see my old phone number there. I don't have access to this number any more.
I noticed apple recently created a new tool to de-associate the iMessage from phone number, but this tool will send a text message
to the number to be able to de-associate it!!! [ Well I don't have that number to be able to get the text ]
Probably apple did not think about this situation yet and I have to wait for another 10 years for new tool.
Please help me in this regard.
    Many thanks,

If a mobile phone number is not used for iMessage for about 45-60 days, it should automatically be removed from association to the Apple ID used for iMessage.

  • Mobile number and telephone numbers not displying in lync contacts for other SIP domains.

    Hi everyone,
we recently migrated Lync 2010 to 2013, we have 2 SIP boc.bh and scys.gov.bh and local domain boc.local.
lync users for boc.bh not getting telephone numbers & mobile number on lync contact list, same happening for scys.gov.bh lync users they are not able to see any boc.bh lync user telephone number and mobile number on lync list.
but old with lync 2010 all users able to see all numbers in lync list.
recently we changed user UPN suffix for BOC.bh and scys.gov.bh to respective users.
there is no any error massage on lync servers.
    manish yadav

    Hi Manish!
On the Lync Server 2013 environment you can run the Lync PowerShell command: "Update-CsUserDatabase" after 5 minutes run the command: Update-CsAddressBook
Please after that run: "Invoke-CsManagementStoreReplication" wait for Lync replication with command: "Get-CsManagementStoreReplicationStatus" when Status for each server is appearing as True finally apply the following steps to test with
    2 accounts:
Log off of the Lync client and delete the profile from:
    %userprofile%\appdata\Local\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Lync
then execute the following command in the command prompt to add the registry that forces the Lync client to immediately download the address book:
    reg add HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Lync /v GalDownloadInitialDelay /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f
Sign-in to users again to lync client and test between each other.

  • Cannot send text message to one mobile number

Recently moved from iphone 4 to iphone 6 and changed the carrier from Tmobile to Verizon, post this change I am not able to send text message to one specific mobile number. The other person can send text to my number. The message sent to this specific phone number from iphone 6 appears green as sent but is not received by the other specific number. I can send messages to all the other friends but not to this specific number. The other person reached to his carrier (Tmobile) and they confirmed that it is not coming in their network after doing the testing from my end. This problem started when moved from Tmobile to verizon.

    Hi,
This was already checked with the Tmobile carrier and their technicians as test from verizon side. It is not that it is not being received on their network, the issue is it is not being sent out from Verizon network. I have checked in my online account of Verizon with my SMS usage and it shows that no SMS has been sent out to this T-mobile number. I have tried sending SMS 30 - 40 times and there is no record in my online account about the SMS sent out. This means that the SMS is not going out from verizon network to this specific user. I hope I have made myself clear here in terms of issue definition. I have tried all possible options of deleting message thread, deleting contacts at both the sides, resetting network, switching off imessage, Airplane mode on-off, sending SMS by adding 001 to the mobile number etc.
    Kindly help urgently.

  • IMessage on mac can't use my mobile number

I was using my phone number as my send and receive for my iMessage on my mac, suddenly without me changing anything i'm now using my appleid email for my imessage and i cant switch it back to my number so that my iPhone/ipad/mac sync on the same imessage which would be my mobile number. how do i fix this and bring it back like it was?

    Hi Fmaldon,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  This article has steps that may help if you are having trouble activating iMessage on your new iPhone 5s:
iOS: Troubleshooting FaceTime and iMessage activation
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts4268
If you see "Waiting for Activation" when trying to activate your phone number with iMessage or FaceTime on iPhone
    To resolve this issue:
Ensure that you have an active Internet connection. You can complete activation using Wi-Fi or a cellular data connection. If you need help connecting to Wi-Fi, follow these steps.
Update to the latest version of iOS.
Ensure that FaceTime hasn't been restricted: tap Settings > General > Restrictions > FaceTime.
Ensure that your iPhone is set to the correct time zone: tap Settings > General > Date & Time.
Note: If Set Automatically is on but the incorrect time zone appears, turn Set Automatically off and choose the correct time zone, date, and time.
Verify that you can send SMS messages. You need a valid SMS messaging plan to activate FaceTime and iMessage.
Contact your carrier to verify that there are no restrictions or blocks on text messages. Blocks on text messaging will prevent iMessage and FaceTime registration.
If "Waiting for Activation" still appears after you perform these steps, turn FaceTime and iMessage off and on inSettings > Messages and Settings > FaceTime. You may need to wait up to 24 hours to complete activation. Most attempts will take less than an hour, but some attempts may take up to 24 hours. If your issue isn't resolved after 24 hours, please contact Apple for assistance. If you've recently performed a remote wipe on your iPhone, wait 24 hours from the time you performed the remote wipe, and then turn iMessage off then back on.
    Cheers,
    - Ari

  • Imessage to foreign iphone mobile number

Not entirely sure how imessage works, however I incurred astronomical chanrges whilst overseas recently and am trying to come up with a solution as we visit quite often in Europe.  A couple of options with questions
Option A with my UK number (Travelling to Europe)
    1. If I turn data roaming off will I still receive imessages?
    2. If I turn 3G and data roaming off but connect to wifi will I still receive imessages?
Option B with local spanish number as we have a spare iphone and thought about buying a sim only contract locally
    1. If someone from UK sends an imessage to a foreign mobile number, do they pay extra or is it just part of their data allowance?
Any help/advice would be really helpful as I have been trying to get an answer to this for weeks now with no luck

iMessages use a data connection whether that be cellular or WiFi.  So if you turn data roaming off, you will not be able to send or receive any iMessages unless you connect to a WiFi network.

  • IMessage on MacBook Pro - how to use mobile number?

So I upgraded to 10.8.2 on ML and IOS 6 on other devices. I notice on the iPhone that my iMessages can be received by default only to the mobile number.
I previously turned iMessage off because frankly it was a complete PITA and more trouble than it was worth.  The mess created for recipients with messages coming from apple IDs when sent from the iPad and from a mobile number on the phone, then messages sent from one not showing on the other, replies not going from one device becase there was no internet available but the message had come to the apple ID and not the phone number etc etc.  The woes went on.  iMessage thus went off.
Now, the ability to use the phone number as the default across decvices did sound appealing and I THOUGHT that when I activated imessage on the Mac and iPad it would automatically show up with the option to use the mobile number on those devices.  Instead I just get the email option and can see phone number at all.
Am I correct in assuming that I need to add the Apple ID so messages can be sent there BUT configure it somehow so that iMessages going out from those devices are sent as coming from my mobile and not an email address?  last thing I want is the dog's breakfast that the last incarnation of iMessage brought and I would hope this time around that "It just works".  I'm gettng more and more used to having to probe around with Apple though, to find ways to make it work.

Finally got this to work, coincidence or not i'm not sure, maybe the system was just catching up.  On the iPhone I ONLY had the telephone number enabled.  I then added the Apple ID and all the test messages arrived, as did the mobile number verify message.  I then went and turned the Apple ID email off as a 'receive at' source.  After that the mobile number was verified on the Macbook and was available to add as an iPad 'email address'.
