I just bought one of those new do-everything cell phones and I'm trying to get the phone and the computer to talk to each other. When I ran the bluetooth setting on my laptop, it found and downloaded the driver from Toshiba driver site, asked me to connect the device then froze. It keeps asking me to plug in the device over and over.
I've made sure bluetooth is enabled on the phone but not sure how to check the PC.
Any help, direction or advice offered would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
The M305-S4910 does not have Bluetooth hardware, so that's why the laptop is 'freezing'.  Toshiba sells a USB adapter:

  • Let Macbook Pro share the Mobile Phone connection

    Hi there,
try using macbook and mobile phone bluetooth to let my macbook pro share the internet connection from my mobile phone network.
you know most of the time when i carry my laptop, there is no wifi connection to use internet, but mobile phone should be a good option. but how to share via bluetooth.
try to find some articles here but really get more confused.
    anyone ever make this happen?
    Thanks,

This is called Tethering which the iPhone supports, but your cell phone carrier must support this to begin with and most charge an additional monthly fee for a tethering data plan in addition to the carrier's data plan for the iPhone alone.
Page 24/25 of the iPhone User Guide.
    http://manuals.info.apple.com/enUS/iPhone_iOS4_UserGuide.pdf
You can use iPhone as a modem to connect, or tether, your computer to the Internet. You can connect iPhone to your computer using the Dock Connector to USB Cable, or via Bluetooth. Note: Tethering may not be available in all countries or regions. Additional fees may apply. Contact your carrier for more information.

  • Bluetooth file transfer from Sharp GX29 mobile phone to iBook

    hello all,
got a new sharp gx29 mobile phone.
    problem:
cannot send files via bluetooth to my ibook.
but can send from ibook to Sharp.
when trying to send from phone, a dialog window opens on mac os x, asking whether accept or cancel the transfer.
no matter how many times i click on accept, nothing happens, sometimes it hits it, and goes further to a transfer dialog window with the transfer progress bar, but it starts to transfer and stops at about 5-10%, and nothing happens.
Any one has Sharp GX series and problems like me?
I know that Sharp is not supported by isync, but that's not what I am trying to do (isync), just a normal file transfer.
    Thnx
    Tom

I myself have missed the obvious many times so I'm going to ask.
In System Preferences/Bluetooth/Sharing. Do you have: Bluetooth File Transfer and File Exchange checked???? Then make sure your settings in the pop up menus on the right are correct.
If you have everything set properly in Bluetooth preferences on your iBook then you might try the Sharp web site for troubleshooting since you can't send files via Bluetooth to your iBook, not the other way around. Sounds like maybe your Sharp possibly has something blocked somewhere...

    Hello Iva
A friend of mine has Satellite M40 and I know that this unit is delivered without BT module. If the unit has BT module you will find BT label on the bottom side of your notebook.

  • Address Book and Bluetooth Mobile Phone

    Hi,
I have been trying to use my bluetooth enabled mobile phone with the address book to dial numbers and send sms. I am using the Nokia 9500 and the Motorola Razr V3 BLK. But when I pair the phone with address book and click on the tab of the contact, address book loses the bluetooth connection and the Send SMS and dial number options are not highlighted.
I have tried looking around for help, but haven't found anything. I would appreciate it if anyone could help me with this.
    Best Regards,
    Aditya

This facility is usually dependent on your network
I am in uk on Vodafone and it doesnt work here
I use a small program called BluePhoneElite with the v3 and it handles sms and the calls very well
They pop up on the powerbook screen and also the sms save to the powerbook
thats the address you can get a free trial
I paid the small amount and have been very happy with it
Now I wish there was a program to handle landline calls
I am just a happy customer nothing to do with the company before anyone asks!

    Hi,
I have a brand new iMac 21.5", 3.33 GHz here and I use a Motorola KRZR K1 mobile phone and the emitSMS widget, to send SMS messages.
But this widget can't detect the Bluetooth connection to the mobile phone.
I delete the bluetooth preferences, but this does't help.
On my MacBook with MacOS X 10.6.2 is no problem.
Anybody an idea, what's the problem?

    Hi again,
Can it be, that's a problem with the last Airport Client Update?

  • Connect Bluetooth with Samsung mobile phone headset?

I'm making a movie in Garageband and using the iMac internal speaker for recording my voice. I have a Samsung Bluetooth device I use with my mobile phone and I thought the sound would be better. I can't seem to get it to connect with my Mac. I have bluetooth sharing on, but when I go to the bluetooth set-up window, it doesn't recognize it. Am I doing something wrong, or is it incompatible?
Thanks for any help, I'm trying to avoid buying a new mic.

Have you tried pairing using the Bluetooth icon in the system tray?

  • Connecting up a mobile phone to a computer (via bluetooth?)

    Hi,
I'm looking for the best way to connect up a mobile phone to a nearby computer (wirelessly) so that they are able to communicate with each other.
Would bluetooth be the best way?
Would it be as simple as buying a bluetooth dongle for the computer, and writing a java application on the computer which accepts connections, and then writing a j2me application for the phone which connects to the computer? How would you find out what address the mobile phone needed to connect to?
Also, is there a better way of doing this without the need for a j2me application on the phone, such as a phones built in web browser? If I did this how would the computer be able to send information over to the phone telling it what to display? Would it be a case of creating an index.html on the computer and the phone would be able to display that?
    Thanks for the help

{color:#000080}Bluetooth looks good for your purpose. At the phone end, you would need a MIDlet to access an inbuilt bluetooth serial port using the btspp: protocol. At the PC end, your software will connect to the serial port corresponding to your bluetooth dongle. The two can communicate using a client-server relationship.
That is, of course, the bare-bones outline of quite a lot of stuff. Device pairing has to be done manually, since there is no method to do this in j2me. On many handsets, BT has to be launched before running a MIDlet that requires its services. All bluetooth dongles are not created equal, neither are all bluetooth managers. So you will have to deal with a number of specifics as you progress. I am not sure on this, but I think there are a few phone models that do have bluetooth but no serial port profile, so that's another point to check out.
AFAIK, the browser on a mobile phone cannot open local files nor access content via bluetooth -- html pages can only be viewed via the internet.
    You will need to use the javax.bluetooth and, possibly, javax.obex packages.{color}

  • Mobile Phone to PC via Bluetooth

I am investigating the posibility for a certain function for an application on a mobile phone. An Single Sign-On (SSO) application. This application is going to transmit its authentication data to the PC and cause the Web browser to open and log in to the site with the authentication data from the mobile phone.
I was thinking if it is possible to send this authentication data and open the web browser without a companion application already running on the PC. As most SSO applications do have.
Scenario 1: Is it possible to transfer a little program to the PC which executes the necesary commands to open the web browser with minimal or no user interaction on the receiving PC when sending over this file/program?
Scenario 2: Maybe it is possible to simulate a keyboard on the mobile phone which sends the authentication data over to the web browser like a keyboard input(only automatic)? Can I open the default web browser with a keyboard key combination(Is this possible to do with Java)?
I have never programmed J2ME with Bluetooth before so I have no idea if this is possible with either J2ME or Bluetooth.
I would appreciate any answers/clues/ideas to this problem as I need to figure this out soon concerning my upcoming MSc thesis on Single Sign-On.

    Hi!all..
I am doing the same thing...in my project actually i want to transfer data from pc to mbile back and forth..using bluetooth
I m using atinave aveLink BT library...
In that i am able to transfer data from mobile to pdesktop pc successfully..
in my application desktop pc is server and mobile j2me application is client....
Now i am able to connect both mobile and pc and as i have told u already i am to send data from mobile to pc and pc receives them and prints them but when i am trying reverse thing my mobile receives data randomly i.e. it may happen that mobile doesn't receive data at all or mobile receives all the data...and in that ratio of not receiving data in mobile at alll is more than receiving successfully....
I have also tried to communicate between two mobiles in which one is server and other mobile is client using same code to receive and send data....they both communicate well successfully back and forth...
but problem is only between pc and mobile....
Another thing i have also tried to make my mobile server and pc as client but in that case when in service search completed method when pc client tries to connect to mobile server which is already successfully in waiting mode the pc throws an exception "java.io.exception : Connection failed"
So i mnot getting the reason why it is happening....
pc server can receive data from mobile client successfully and can slao send data successfully but mobile client doesn't receives or some times receives....
mobile server and mobile client both successfully communicate with each other successfully.......
And mobile server and pc client case mobile server goes into waiting mode but client is not able to connect with server throws and io exception: "Connectionfailed"
So is there any one who has same problem as mine???????
or is there any one who can tell me the reason why it is not receiving data or why connection failed exception is coming?????????
Or is there any one who has done successful communication between pc server and mobile client???????????
if some one is there then plz help me because in my project to transfer data back and forth between mobile and pc is necessary....in any case...
Help from any one would be appreciated greatly..............

  • Can't sync bluetooth mobile phone with wireless keyboard or mouse

    Hi,
I can't sync my mobile phone (K750) when I am working with my wireless keyboard and my wireless mighty mouse.
When I start the sync progress I loose contact to my mouse & keyboard....the sync progress starts with the mobile phone, but after transferring some data it also looses contact to the phone, so the sync interrupts. After some seconds I get back in contact to my mouse & keyboard.
When I turn off my wireless mouse & keyboard and I am using a wired keyboard & mouse instead everything is working fine!
    Any ideas????

  • Connecting Flash with Java inside a mobile phone

    Hello,
I'm working on a TBOT project that is running on Java on
mobile phones, and we have been pondering the possibilities of
making the UI with Flash Lite 2.0. Currently we are thinking of
using XML / textfiles to get the data to FL from the java, but
sending data back to the Java client inside the mobile phone is
something I have no experience of, and was wondering if it is
    possible even?
Basically can a FL application connect with / contact other
applications / services in the same mobile phone? EG. Sending data
to somewhere in a mobile phone? Or can the Java somehow intercept
stuff Flash lite sends out for example?
Thank you for all your help.

I think you will be happier if you go about it through Bluetooth. I had a dongle for my Ibook 1.2 and now my Ibook 1.33 is bluetooth enabled.
I use Verizon and have a Motorola V710 (bluetooth) . The connection works perfect everytime! I am disappointed that this new model Verizon phone does not support Isync. To sync data from the computer to the phone. I did find that Verizon was not very helpful as they don't seem to know much about Macs. I had to find out on how to connect via Google. Good luck! Geof

Does anyone know how to connect this phone to the mac. I have and emac (no bluetooth) ibook g4 with bluetooth but no bluetooth on phone. Any help or ideas before I go back to the seller and demand a compatible phone!

BitPim supports many LG phones but not the Chocolate.
Given the poor support for Macs in Mobile Phones you really need to buy a phone on the iSync list if you intend to use it as such.

  • Using HP ePrint with mobile phone internet connection

Hello, I have a peculiar problem.
I have an HP Officejet 4630 e-All-in-One series printer and I want to set up HP ePrint.
I have internet connection for my laptop computer, which is the computer I use. It too is a HP. To set up your HP ePrint account you need the printer's code number which can be printed from the printer's control panel. Once you have the printer code, you can then enter it in to your account to add your device. My problem is that my interent connection is the mobile phone which I use to connect my laptop to the internet. The printer is then connected to the computer using either the direct wireless feature or using the supplied USB cable. Because of this, I can't obtain the printer's code, from the printer's control panel. I do not use landline internet connection as the mobile phone is used as a modem.
    What do I do?????????
Can I just phone technical support and ask them to email my printer code??????

    Hi,
No, this is not going to work and WON'T work at all. Your printer MUST be connected to the internet to allow ePrint to work. No point to send an email to printer and it is NOT there.
