  • Can not see the contacts in E63 mobile phone

    Hi,
I amusing E63 mobile phone. I am not been able to view the contacts in the mobile, so not been able to use the same. But when an incoming call comes in I do get the name resolution of the person calling and his mobile no which is stored in the contacts.
I tried backing up the mobile and all the time the backup of contacts could not happened and besides Contacts rest all is backed up....
Pls do let me know how to resolve this issue..
    Thanks in advance...

    Hey  kartik_sh
Welcome to the forum, your contacts are on the sim card and they will need to be either copied to Contacts on your phone for easy access.
It is not clear from your description what could be causing this issue, so I will present a couple of possibilities. The first is that the contacts that you cannot see are stored on the SIM card and not in the phone memory, to remedy this you can follow these steps to copy your contacts into the phone memory:
    Menu>Communic.>Contacts>Options>SIM contacts>SIM directory>Options>Mark/Unmark>Mark all>Options>Copy to Contacts
If this is not the case, and if after selecting Contacts you see the options Go Online and ChatServiceBuddy, it means that the ”Ovi Contacts Chat” service is selected as the default view. This service has been discontinued and replaced by Nokia’s new Chat service powered by Yahoo. You can set your default Contacts view back to the contact information stored in your phone by following these steps:
    •Select Menu>Communic.>Contacts
•Press the left navigation key to select the central field at the top of the screen, then press the centre of the navigation key to open the menu, and finally select Phone
•You should now see the contacts stored in phone memory. To make this the default view, select Options>Settings>Default contact list>Phone
If you are interested in the new Chat application, you can switch the Contacts view back to the Ovi Contacts view, select Go Online and sign in with the same user identity and password that you use to log into this forum. Your phone would then remind you that Ovi Contacts Chat is discontinued and take you through the steps to download and install the new Chat application. We would recommend that you use a WLAN connection for this.
If the two suggestions above do not resolve your issue, we can investigate further.
Out of interest, when you say that creating a back-up did not successfully back-up contacts, do you mean that you created the back-up with Nokia Suite and the report displayed at the end of the process indicated an error? If there was no error during the back-up process, it is likely that the back-up was successful and we still need to work out whý the information is not appearing in your phone.
Let me know if it works
    Kind regards
    Carl

  • How Can I send SMS to a Mobile Phone within Oracle

How Can I send SMS to a Mobile Phone within Oracle

It depends on how you are planning to use this feature.
You can set up a mobile using special software in order to interface to it programatically - you can then, via this software interface, use this mobile to send SMS's.
Some service providers support an e-mail interface. Where you send the SMS as a the e-mail content and the mobile number as the recipient's address, or as the subject of the e-mail. However, many service providers have long since stopped providing this type of mail interface due to abuse. Remember that service providers are there to make money - not offer one a service via bulk SMS's can be send.
Some service providers have dial-up servers that works like the old style bulletin board systems (BBS's) of the 90's. You use a telnet like interface, dial into this BBS, and is prompted for mobile number, message to deliver, and even delivery confirmation. You can expect the cost of this phone call to this system, to also cover the cost of sending the SMS.
Some companies provide a software server to interface with one or more service providers - this allows you to fairly easily use this server gateway to send SMS's for you. Such a gateway server will typically support a telnet interface - allowing you to send SMS's via it from inside PL/SQL.
I've used all these options, and I've found the best one to be the last option. It is the easiest to use from a programming perspective. It comes with various management and reporting tools. So you need to do the very minimal in managing this whole SMS interface.

  • Infinity wifi mobile phone connecting

Hi, happily connected to my wifi with a number of devices. However, new Samsung mobile phone will not connect, despite connecting with other wifis(so not a phone problem) . Any ideas?

Please could you tell forum members which model the Samsung mobile is, as there are already a number of solutions posted on this board?

  • Best Mobile Phone Provider

Who do you think is the best mobile phone provider in the UK?
I have never been with anybody else than T-Mobile (or previoulsy one-to-one).
I value their free voice mail.
I am looking for a new contract and I do not really mind who the provider is. They just need to be good.
It happened to me quite often that I had bad reception in some building where other people always had reception. Does this only have to do with the network or also with the phone?
Which in your opinion has the best coverage AND free voice mail if possible? Or which provider shall I avoid?
    Thanks

Thanks very much for all the comments from everyone. Have you seen this though:

    2005/2006
    2006/2007
    2006/2007 Customer Service Rating Report
O2 customers suffer by getting wrong price information in four out of ten cases
Major mobile networks are giving customers wrong information on call costs leading to higher bills
49% of consumers unaware it costs them to receive calls abroad
An independent assessment of mobile phone companies’ customer service staff has shown many unable to answer basic questions meaning mobile users are incurring needless costs and increasing frustration. The annual mobile phone network customer service report by independent online comparison service OneCompare.com used a mystery shopping exercise to ask questions about peak / off peak rates and international roaming costs across the six major providers. Many staff were unable to give correct information meaning customers would incur unnecessary costs or were subject to bad phone manner.
The mobile company with the least knowledgeable staff were O2 (35%) followed by Vodafone (20%) and Orange (15.4%). O2 was particularly startling as it boasts about service standards in its exclusively British call centres, sliding further down the table from last year’s survey. In fact, O2 staff were unable to provide correct answers or solutions to over a third of the questions asked. O2 and Virgin scored particularly poorly on the international roaming rates question with O2 answering almost four in ten questions (39%) incorrectly and Virgin answering over three in ten(35%) incorrectly.
Anthony Ball, Director of OneCompare.com comments: “It is not surprising that O2 have performed so poorly this year – with the disloyal service they provided their existing customers. In June last year, with little warning, they withdrew up to 50,000 mobile phone models which were still being used by consumers telling them if they wanted to keep making and receiving calls they would have to purchase a newer model. Furthermore, they have not actively promoted cheaper international roaming deals such as My Europe. This is a package that customers have to opt-in to receive cheaper calls, but how can they if they are not being told about them.”
Ball continues; “17.5 million unhappy mobile phone users is a worrying number which needs be addressed. Customer acquisition continues to take priority but mobile companies, even the ones that have come out top in our report, have neglected the basics and dismissed the importance of good customer services. Customer service staff should be the ambassadors for their networks and should be fully equipped to help customers understand the basics such as the cost of a call at an off - peak time or the cost of overseas call charges. We will continue to strive for better service for the consumer and plans for the mobile industry to use this customer service rating as a benchmark will help to achieve this.”
“The report simply highlights the inadequacies of most mobile phone networks across all investigated areas. Hopefully the standard will only get better across the board which in turn will benefit the consumer. We welcome mobile phone providers who would like to work with us in obtaining a common ground in the customer service arena.”
Comprehensive details of the report are available by contacting Onecompare.com direct.

  • Ipad 2 is associating with mobile phone # instead of it's own #

Hi I recently update to iOS 6.1 on my iPad and when it was all finished with the update i was distracted when it asked me about my phone # for facetime and messaging and i just hit ok then later I realized it pulled my mobile phone # into it instead of it's own number and I can't get it out of there. I restored it back to factory settings and a back up before I turned on my data plan and added it's own number and I still can't get rid of my mobile phone number or change it back to it's own data plan # HELP!

That doesn't solve the problem. I have all those defaults. But in Firefox, it won't let me select for "Portable Document Format" to "Use Adobe Acrobat (in Firefox)" which it used to let me and which is what the Mozilla Firefox help stuff says to do. I can select Adobe Reader but then it downloads it and opens it in a separate reader window rather than using the plugin. If I select to let Firefox "Preview in Firefox", then the Firefox built-in PDF reader will display it. I have added an add-on "pdfViewerSwitcher" which then lets me display in the Adobe Reader plug-in but only after first displaying it in the Firefox preview. So that verifies that the Adobe Reader plug-in works. But I can't set it to always use the Adobe Reader plug-in.
I have some reasons for wanting to use the Adobe Reader plug-in. I use Nuance Power PDF Pro for editing and doing other things with pdfs.
This all used to work and stopped working at some point in the last couple months. And if you search the web, you will find I am not the only one with this complaint.
I don't know whether it is Adobe's fault or Mozilla's fault but at least one of them is broken. And I think it is Firefox since it won't even let me select it but does let me select it for Adobe Forms.

  • How do I use Active Sync to view SharePoint Lists (Contacts and Calendars) on a Mobile Phone?

We are attempting to use SharePoint 2010 in combination with Exchange 2010 to implement shared calendars and contact lists throughout our organization.  We are able to connect the lists to Outlook 2010, but have been unsuccessful in viewing
the calendars and contact lists from our mobile phones.  How do we use Active Sync to view SharePoint Lists (Contacts and Calendars) on a Mobile Phone?
In trying to answer this question, we have come across a few different possibilities, all of them falling just short of a long term solution for us.  After doing research, we found that Active Sync will only show the default folders of the account.  To
solve this, we downloaded an Add-In for Outlook (CodeTwo FolderSync) to synchronize folders and synchronized our SharePoint list with a new Contact list in the default folder.  The issue we came across with this method is that the Add-In we are using
is not capable of automatic synchronization.  There is a button and it must be clicked after every update is made, which is not ideal for our solution.  We then went to the company (CodeTwo) and found server side software (Exchange Sync) that they
offer which will automatically synchronize the folders.  After installing that on the Exchange Server, we now are running into the issue of not being able to locate the SharePoint lists on the Exchange Server.
Does anyone happen to know how we can get to the SharePoint lists from the Exchange Server?  Has anyone else been able to use shared contacts lists and calendars from SharePoint on their mobile phones using Active Sync?  If so, are we in the right
direction with what we have found so far?
    Thanks,
    Brad

You cannot use ActiveSync for that, but there are SharePoint clients for the iPhone. Windows Mobile 7 natively supports SharePoint with SharePoint Workspace Mobile, part of Microsoft Office Mobile. Android and BlackBerry might also have some apps.

  • Using HP ePrint with mobile phone internet connection

Hello, I have a peculiar problem.
I have an HP Officejet 4630 e-All-in-One series printer and I want to set up HP ePrint.
I have internet connection for my laptop computer, which is the computer I use. It too is a HP. To set up your HP ePrint account you need the printer's code number which can be printed from the printer's control panel. Once you have the printer code, you can then enter it in to your account to add your device. My problem is that my interent connection is the mobile phone which I use to connect my laptop to the internet. The printer is then connected to the computer using either the direct wireless feature or using the supplied USB cable. Because of this, I can't obtain the printer's code, from the printer's control panel. I do not use landline internet connection as the mobile phone is used as a modem.
    What do I do?????????
Can I just phone technical support and ask them to email my printer code??????
    This question was solved.

    Hi,
No, this is not going to work and WON'T work at all. Your printer MUST be connected to the internet to allow ePrint to work. No point to send an email to printer and it is NOT there.
    Regards.

  • My nano SIM works in my Nokia mobile phone but "No SIM" when in my iPad mini

I've been around the support loop a few times with varying levels of success, here is my story.
Basically I expect to only occasionally require mobile data services so would like to move my nano SIM from my Nokia mobile phone to the iPad mini as and when required. I have a 500Mb data allowance on my current contract with Vodafone UK which I never use but would like to access with my iPad mini.
The first time I tried it worked! I never tried to surf using it but it registered with Vodafone UK OK and had a good signal level. The second time “No SIM” or “SIM not installed” popup at bootup.
Now irrespective of contracts, tariffs, data plan etc I expect the iPad mini to recognise there as being a SIM present every time and never give “No SIM” except of course when there isn’t one physically in the thing.
Playing along to support and forum suggestions I’ve done a couple of device resets (software reinstalls) and various setting resets. But still “No SIM”.
I’ve also spoken with Vodafone UK and am investigating whether this is in fact some restriction where they’ve restricted the technology so SIM swapping is not allowed. My Nokia E51 is not locked as have had it years.
I just cannot get past the “No SIM” message though!

Do have the details as to why that is?
The single time it recognised the nano SIM and showed as being connected to Vodafone UK I tried to ring it to see what would happen, it just rang out until voicemail picked up but nothing happened on the iPad mini whatsoever.

  • How to connect PC to a mobile phone to make a call.

    Hi all,
I want my PC to control the mobile phone (its a CDMA phone). I want to connect the phone with my PC through some cable, then I want to control the phone using the program running on my PC.
Like, I want my program running on PC to make calls through the mobile phones.
Does anyone have any idea that how can I do it, what API should I use, any sample code or example.
    Thanks.

Except TextNow is another Voip service. Just like Skype, Viber, etc. It may be a good Voip product but it doesn't use the mobile cellular network which is what the OP was interested in.
    http://support.textnow.com/entries/20588531-What-is-the-Difference-between-A-Tex tNow-Phone-Number-and-TextNow-Address-
Many iPad models now have exactly the same hardware as iPhones and should be completely capable of making and receiving calls and texts using a cellular network. Yet they cannot, because Apple limits this functionality through the ios.

  • Satellite M40-237: How to connect the mobile phone with Bluetooth

I have a new Noki 62333 and I have a Satellite Toshiba M40- 237. I have a big problem with the conection between them. I don t know how to turn on bluetooth on my pc. Can you help me????

    Hello Iva
A friend of mine has Satellite M40 and I know that this unit is delivered without BT module. If the unit has BT module you will find BT label on the bottom side of your notebook.
To establish BT connection with his mobile phone he uses BT USB stick.
By the way: does Iva comes from Zagreb, Croatia?
    Bye
