Mobile Portal

Is there someway to render portal content on to a Mobile device ?
If yes how much of redevelopment would be necessary to get an already configured Portal application to be Mobilized.
thanks,
BT.

Hello BT,
if you Application was developed with WebDynpro it is available for mobile devices with little limitations. Look at the TechEd hands on session for Blackberry.

  • ISE 1.2 AUP Mobile Portal

    Hi all,
I have a problem with the new mobile portal which was introduced with ISE version 1.2.
I've configured our aup and the normal guest portal displays it correctly.
But the mobile portal shows a floating text without any seperate paragraphs. This is pretty much unreadable.
Does anyone know if it is possible to format the text somehow?
The editor does not allow any tags so that's not possible.

The Guest, Sponsor, My Devices, and Client Provisioning portals are localized into all supported languages and locales. This includes text, labels, messages, field names, and button labels. If the client browser requests a locale that is not mapped to a template in Cisco ISE, the portals display content using the English template. Using the Admin portal, you can modify the fields used for the Guest, Sponsor, and My Devices portals for each language individually, and you can add additional languages. Currently, you cannot customize these fields for the Client Provisioning portal. You can further customize the Guest portal by uploading HTML pages to Cisco ISE. When you upload customized pages, you are responsible for the appropriate localization support for your deployment. Cisco ISE provides a localization support example with sample HTML pages, which you can use as a guide. Cisco ISE provides the ability to upload, store, and render custom internationalized HTML pages.
    Note :
NAC and MAC agent installers and WebAgent pages are not localized.

  • Mobile Portal and Design Studio

Is it correct to assume that a Design Studio application could be presented on a mobile device using only the Mobile EP and the BW, without the need for the BO  BI 4 platform?

Portal is a broader term which is a container of all the assets and pages and is a web portal.
Sitestudio is a tool provided by WC Content which is used to create Content Presenter Templates. These templates consists of region and element definitions which are used as a template to have data in them.

I am trying to develop a portal (client) for web services on mobile devices that supports CLDC and MIDP, like the Yahoo! Go.
I was just wondering what technologies I need to learn and tools I have to use to develop the portal application. I have been developing game applications using J2ME for quite sometime now, and this portal application is new to me that is why I am asking for 'guidance' in what steps I have to take.
Any help is greatly appreciated. :)

  • ISE 1.2 customizing guest portal

I am having some issues trying to customize colours on the default guest portal in ISE 1.2.
Is there really no way to change the entire page background colour, except going through creating a complete set of html files ?
It seems if i upload a transparent background image for both the banner and the logo, and then change the all the gackground coulour settings, the colour only affects the area where the cisco splash logo is, and not the entire page.
I attached my settings, and how the page looks with those, what i am after is the entire page black, and then white text.

    Hello Jan
You can customize the look-and-feel of the end-user portals by uploading your company's logos, background images, or color schemes. These changes apply to the My Devices, Sponsor, and Guest portals, but you can assign different images and colors to the mobile Guest portal.
These settings allow you to change the appearance of the portals without having to upload customized HTML files to the Cisco ISE server. However, if you want to create themes unique to specific Guest portals, you must upload your custom HTML files instead.
Step 1 Choose Administration > Web Portal Management > Settings > General > Portal Theme.
Step 2 Upload the graphics and change the color settings in the Style Settings section to customize the standard portals.
Step 3 Upload the graphics and change the color settings in the Mobile Device Style Settings to customize the Guest mobile portal.
    Step 4 Click Save.

  • What is difference between Portal on NW 7.3 and Portal on NW 7.0 Ehp 2?

I am checking out the features of NW 7.3 (Java server related) and NW 7.0 Ehp 2 (ABAP server / Business Suite related).
If I think about NW 7.3 I am think NWDS, Web Dynpro Java, Visual Composer, Composition Environment, PI, Mobile, Portal etc. so basically everthing that's Java related.
If I think about NW 7.02 I am think Business Suite applications, classic Dynpro,Web Dynpro ABAP, BSP etc. so basically everthing that's ABAP related.
Now that I am reading the features I see Portal in both areas: featurs in NW 7.02 but alos features in NW 7.3?
Are we talking about 2 different kinds of Enterprise Portals? Is there a difference between Enterprise Portal installed in Java environment (so basically the CE Portal) and an Enterprise Portal installed on top of e.g. SAP CRM or ERP?
So when are Portal features NW 7.3 applicable and when are features NW 7.0 EhP x applicable? Or are both applicable and does a Portal have an ABAP based piece and a Java based Piece???
    kind regards,
    Angelique Heutinck

    Hi,
to be honest - this is nothing a forum should clarify about. You are asking for the universe. Obviously the architecture is completely unknown by you so take a look at help.sap.com and start with architectural things. This also explains where the portal is located and if there is java and abap or not.
Regarding release cycle: for the portal it works like for all other netweaver components. In 7.02 you have a 7.02 portal while in 7.3 you have a 7.3 portal. Its the same application just a new release with new features.
By the way: features and so on are also described at help.sap.com including the new ones for every release and stack.
Be aware of the fact that there is also a huge difference in CE and non-CE installation (I'm sure you already know - see help.sap.com).
I close this thread for now. If there is some detailed question - feel free to ask.

  • ISE 1.2 Guest Portal - This device has not been registered.

I have setup and SSID on my WLC. I got the redirecting to my ISE guestportal working.
However when I sign in I get a Device regitration Page
"This device has not been registered"
Unable to obtain the user information needed for network access.
The device ID is grayed out and blank.
Any assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks Johnston,
P.S for those who needs the path ISE 1.2 Administration -> Web Portal Management -> Settings -> Multi-Portal Configurations -> DefaultGuestPortal -> Operations.
    On another note
When I login - I get my acceptable usage policy.
    Accept
Then get a Device registration Portal where I can add the MAC address.
    Now I have two quistions.
When I add my test mac address the url redirects to myservername:8443/guestportal/AfterDevReg.action - unable to connect <- that's the one issue.
The other is - Can't I by pass the MAC? ie once the user is signed on to get access.
Curretly I have the following settings enabled.
    Enable Mobile Portal
Allow guest users to change password
Guest users should be allowed to do device registration <- if I disable that after signon the page just flash back to the guest portal.

  • Can we render EP on mobile devices?

We are planning to build a Mobile Portal (EP6) for hand-held devices. Can the Enterprise Portal be configured to be viewable on mobile devices? Currently it displays a message that 'iView is not compatible'.
Are there some specific documents that can guide us in the area?
Thanks in advance for any response.

  • FIori Application on Portal, does we need gateway server?

    Hi All

    So
    My question
    1) it is possible to implement SAP FIORi apps on portal? (might be yes)
    So
    2) Does we need gateway server for this?
    How it will work..

    i gone through
How to integrate SAP Fiori apps into your Mobile Portal
    seems need gateway server.
    but quite confusing...
if SAP provide ESS MSS (sca) packages for Portal.
Why not sca file for SAP FIORI apps. so not need gateway server.
    might be for security resion.

  • Cisco ISE 1.2 - Problem with Device Onboarding of internal users using AD Credentials

    Dear experts,
We have implemented ISE 1.2 with WLC 7.5 in our organization. We are using Device Onboarding by letting the users enter their AD Username and Passowrd on Guest portal which then redirects them to device registration portal where they simply register their device and they get internet access.
The problem is that some users are unable to authenticate using this portal while some can successfully authenticate and register their devices. All users are of the same group in AD. Also, we have enabled this check on two places. One is when users connects to the SSID where the security WPA2-Enterprise uses 802.1x and asks for AD username password. The other is on the portal.
All users are able to connect to the SSID using their AD credentials. However, 30% of the users are not being authenticated when they are redirected to the Guest portal for device registration. Also, it gives no error or event on either ISE or on the mobille device. When the users enters their credentials, the same guest portal page comes back blank with no errors or logs anywhere.
Can someone guide me if there is some configuration mistake that I may have done or have someone faced this same issue and were/weren't able to resolve it.
    Thanks in advance.
    Jay

Our problem got solved. It was related to a few user accounts in AD. Usually any authentication on AD User Account is carried out using the User ID. However, during Web Authentication, Login ID/Name is also checked by ISE and should be same as User ID.
The problem you are facing might also related be to AD since we had the similar issue. try to check this on a laptop as the mobile portal gives no error if the user is unknown or invalid. Also, you can enable logs for web authentication which are off by default. It will give you a pretty good idea where the problem lies. And yeah, do not keep the web authentications log on for long, it can hang your ISE.
Anyways, thanks for all the support.

  • Can't send audio messages from Nokia E63 to email ...

I used to send audio messages from my mobile to my friend's email, and it worked fine.
But some days ago it stopped working. I keep on seeing this whenever I try to send audio message.
"In order to send/download MM messages, the current active connection may be closed (this may affect other applications in use). Do you want to continue ?"
When I disconnected connection, it fails to send again. I saw this message:
"Multimedia message cannot be sent. Packet data connection not available"
It is impossible for me to send the audio message if I close the connection because I'm not having internet in my phone.
I have been using packet data connection to send all the messages to email all the time and it went OK. I got that problem just a few days ago and I cannot send any audio messages now.
I can still send normal emails (non-audio message) from my phone through packet data connection though.
The problem is only when sending the audio message.
I'm using Nokia E63 and I'm in the UAE.
    My mobile provider is "Du".
I use packet data connection from "MyWorld"
I don't have any other packet data connections. I had many but now, MyWorld is the only one in my phone.
Please help me how can I do it.

    Automatic configuration.
Your mobile will be automatically configured to access the MyWorld mobile portal when you first join du.
You will receive an SMS message, which you should accept and save.
You can also request for these settings by sending the following SMS message “du” to 333 or by calling Customer Care on 155.
Availability of the MyWorld mobile portal and of the relevant settings is dependent on your handset type.
For more information on MyWorld, call 155 from your mobile or visit us at www.du.ae
    This might do the trick.

  • IOS app - Your request is in progress after clicking 'Install'

    Hi,
We have 150+ licences on Office 365 and are looking to roll out InTune in our organisation. Part of the roll out is to manage approx 70 iOS devices (iphones/iPads) and publish our in-house iOS apps for download. I have configured the trial, uploaded
a couple of apps (.ipa file and .plist file) and everything looks good. You go to the mobile portal on your iOS device to install the app, find the app, click 'Install' and it says 'Your request is in progress' ... and nothing happens. We have a valid
    Apple enterprise licence.
Any help would be appreciated as this is one of the main factors for us investing in InTune.
    Thanks in advance!!

I've just tried the config utility and the console doesnt really respond when clicking install. I opened the company portal link, logged in, went to the app and hit install ...
