  • Push notifications are not working on current gen ipod touch

    Push notifications are not working on current gen ipod touch. I just got it a couple of weeks back. It is a refurbished model.
    It works fine on my iphone 4 flawlessly. I have compared the settings between the 2 and everything is similar. Not sure if there is anything specific that needs to be done for an ipod. Kindly advise.

    Yea...internet is working fine. tried everything. reset the network, turned off the notifications, rebooted and turned them on. Still not working.
    When I select auto settings, its asks for https url...what do i type in there?
    The most weird thing is that, it was working fine before the update :s

  • Push notifications WhatsApp not work.

    Push notifications WhatsApp not work. I only receive them when I open the app. I've checked the settings on iOs and Whatsapp and all is ok. I've also updated to the latest versions. Can you help me?

    I actually did, and here is the answer I received:
    "When you are sent a message in WhatsApp, but are not online to receive it, WhatsApp will automatically send your message to the Apple Push Notification Service (APNS). This allows an alert containing the message to be displayed, even when WhatsApp is closed or your phone's display is off. Most often, all that is needed to resolve notification issues is to ensure that all notification settings are enabled. Review these FAQ pages for troubleshooting steps:
    Notifications Troubleshooting
    Connection Troubleshooting
    Sending your message to APNS typically takes only a few milliseconds. Once your message is sent to APNS, any delays or failure to deliver the message as a push notification to your device are usually caused by issues with your phone or network connection. Currently, all of our systems are operating normally.
    If you are using iOS 7, and are confident that you have all push notification settings enabled in WhatsApp and the iPhone Notification Center, then there is likely an issue with your phone that WhatsApp cannot resolve for you. In this case, I recommend the following steps:
    Backup your entire phone to iCloud.
    After the backup is complete, Erase all content and settings.
    Continue setting up your phone as a new device (do not restore from the iCloud backup).
    Install WhatsApp and verify that push notifications are working correctly (have someone send you a few test messages while your phone's display is turned off).
    Erase all content and settings and restore from the iCloud backup. "
    I tried to delete everything from my iPhone and then restore my data with the backup on my computer but it did not change anything, I still can't receive any notification, unless I open the application... However, I restored immediatly my backup cause I was afraid it wouldn't work after, but I don't really think it would change something to first start as a new device and then erase all content again and restore it.

    We are testing an app at work and Push notifications are not getting delivered to certain devices (iphone 4S/ios7.0.4 and ios7.0.3 - Push never worked for these two devices for this app). Received OK responses from Apple PUSH services, but notifications not delivered to these tow devices.

    Sounds like you have a battry issue but don't want to believe it.
    If a car was running fine on one tank of gas, then you filled it up with another tank of gas and it began to run funny, one might suspect that tank of gas. But let's just say coincidence blew a valve-- would you think the new tank of gas was the culprit?
    BUT WAIT!! It just might have been! The gas could have been of higher octane and put more more strain on the valves; you know, like going from 87 octane (OS6) to 93 octane (OS7) and showing you the engine was on the edge of compromise.
    Sometimes you have to go with common sense. If everything else is ruled out, it must be the battery. And if it runs fine one moment in OS6 but immediately ***** in OS7, I'd believe my battery was suspect-- though comfy-- in OS6 but the OS7 showed its true power.
    Moreover, if you had the answer-- or didn't want to believe someone's more competent advice-- why did you even call?  You've already shown that you don't know much when you asked if you could go backwards after setting up the new OS as a new phone.
    Additonally, if you're such the know-it-all, but yourself the $29 battery and put it in yourself. It's a piece of cake.

    I'm running os 5.0.1 on a iPod Touch 4.  Push notifications are not working for email.
    The only way to check emails is to go into the email app and check for updates.
    I deleted my email accounts and reloaded them.
    I removed all active apps and restarted my iPod and still does not work.
    Fetch New Data is set to Push.
    I hear a lot of problems with this but is anything beiing done?
    Why would this all of a sudden stop working?

    Your welcome, nice it's working now

  • Air 3.4 iOS Push Notification is not fired when app is not running and is not in background

    Hello,
    I'm making an Air iOS application which uses the iOS Push Notification from Air 3.4.
    All is working perfectly except when I receive notifications when the app is not running and is not in background (The app is killed).
    I suppose the RemoteNotificationEvent.NOTIFICATION must be dispatched when I receive a notification even if my app is not currently running or in background ?
    Do you have already get the same issue ? Do you know what can prevent the notification to be handled ?
    Thanks,
    Loïc

    issue has been fixed in the build available at http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/air3-5.html.
    You would now have to attach listener to InvokeEvent. For cases, when application is killed, InvokeEventReason will be InvokeEventReason.NOTIFICATION. The notification payload can be accessed by the following code
    protected function onInvokeEvent(event:InvokeEvent):void
         trace("Invokehandler called .... \n");
         trace("reason: " + event.reason + "\n");
         if( event.reason == InvokeEventReason.NOTIFICATION)
                        var payload:Object = Object(event.arguments[0]);
              for (var i:String in payload)
                    trace("Key:value pair " + i + ":" + payload[i] + "\n");
              // TODO: DO THE NEEDFUL ON RECIEVING A NOTIFICATION HERE

  • ADF Mobile: Push Notifications error

    Hello All,
    JDeveloper: 11.1.2.4.0
    Build JDEVADF_11.1.2.4.0_GENERIC_130421.1600.6436.1
    I am attempting to run a simple ADF Mobile app that uses push notifications. I used the Project ID from the Google APIs dashboard as the return from LifeCycleListenerImpl.getSourceAuthorizationId(). Firstly, the JavaDoc at http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E37975_01/apirefs.111240/e27204/toc.htm doesn't list the PushNotificationConfig interface (or other push related classes).
    Testing this on an Android 4.2 device, I see an INVALID_SENDER error logged by the GCM service. Further down I also see the following:
    "06-12 16:16:02.425: D/CVM(8635): [SEVERE - oracle.adfmf.framework - GenericInvokeRequestHandler - invoke] Unresolved class / method: oracle.adfmf.framework.pushnotification.internal.NativePushNotificationEventInterceptor / receivedToken"
    Any ideas if I am doing something wrong here?
    Regards,
    Bijesh

    HI, the JavaDoc did not get into the release unfortunately.   It is being added to the next Patch release.  In the mean time, you can find a copy of the JavaDoc in the latest article on http://blogs.oracle.com/mobile, which covers Push Notification.
    Thanks,
    Joe Huang

  • Help desk mobile push notifications

    Hoping that someone may have an answer to my issue. We are in the process of testing out SW help desk. I have the SW app loaded on my phone and push notifications have worked for 3 weeks, but just quit on me. When i went to check under menu-setting-push notifications, all I get is a "loading message". I know those settings used to be there, I've tried uninstalling, using ssl, etc based off of other forums to no avail. I have a droid turbo that was recently updated to lollipop, but notifications worked after the update. I also have another user trying to install SW app on an iphone 5 and their push notification menu tells them to upgrade to v7.2. We are currently on v7.4.00070, not sure what's up there.
    Anyone else running into this? Thanks!

  • Azure Notification Hub for mobile push notification vs. others...

    Hi,
    I am trying to figure out the differences between Azure Notification Service and other options like Urban Airship, Xtify, etc. Amazon SNS looks very much similar to Azure, but how do they compare with other options? This link shows some of those alternate

  • Push notifications *still* not working right on iOS 8

    iOS 8 has been out for about a month. When would be a reasonable time for me to expect my push notifications to function properly? Specifically, apps like CNN, CBC, BBC, AP, MSNBC, Twitter, local news providers, generate a ton of push notifications when there is breaking news. Somehow, my local providers' apps are the only ones that work anymore. I have re-installed apps. I have reconfigured the notification settings. I have restored the iPad. Due to a completely separate issue, I even have a replacement device. Nothing. Apple tech support had the audacity to suggest that "there must not be any breaking news." Sure. Keep telling yourself that while you sit in your insulated, isolated little bubble. But there's a big world out there, and there's always something going on. So. How long should I be expected to wait for my push notifications to actually fracking work?

    Hi, I'm having a similar problem and would appreciate any help.
    Previously I would open VIDEO app, then clicked on SHARED, choose my library and it would load and I could choose what I wanted to watch on the iPAD. Now its starts loading and never completes it. The pie gets to about 1/3 and then stops.
    Please help.

  • Enabling push notifications has not worked

    I have downloaded Viber on Iphone 4 and reinstalled twice and push notifications are on, but I cant get past the window notifying me that 'push notifications need to be turned on'
    What can I do to make this work please

    Try the Apple troubleshooting tips here -> iOS: Understanding Notifications
    Troubleshooting notifications
    Push notifications require an active Wi-Fi or cellular connection. If you are not receiving notifications for a specific app, try these steps:
    Verify that the app supports notifications.
    After installing an app or restoring a backup to a different iOS device, open the app at least once to begin receiving notifications.
    If the app requires entering or logging in to an account, you will need to do this before receiving notifications.
    Check Settings > Notifications to ensure that the app is configured for notifications.
    If notifications do not appear only in the Notification Center, verify that the Notification Center setting for the app is enabled.
    If you are still unable to receive notifications and you are using a Wi-Fi connection, verify that the network or firewall is not blocking access to port 5223.
    If that doesn't do it, check out Vibers support article -> Push Notifications for iPhone - How to enable
    You can email them notifications test results.
