  • Error creating iPad mobile reports

I have a question specifically on creating mobile reports.  I have searched as many places as I could find for this answer and have found nothing except ipad connection and mobile usage instructions.  I must confess upfront that I am new to working with this system.
    Background:
We have successfully connected to the iPad and I can see and download my reports.  Per the instructions, the reports are in the Mobile category and show up correctly in the iPad app.  I can open the reports, but that is where the issue starts.  The server setup is BusinessObjects XI 3.1 SP4 and BusinessObjects Mobile SP4.
My understanding is that these reports are basic Web Intelligence reports that are sized for the iPad's screen.  I am using InfoView to create these WebI reports through the browser-based Java GUI -- as the instructions suggest.  The instructions suggest many design best-practices and suggest that pie charts and bar charts are available.
    Problem
I have created the most basic report that contains only a table and a pie chart (I tried the bar chart too).  When viewing this on the iPad, the table shows up formatted nicely but the pie chart has an error message in its place that says "This content is not supported".
i have taken the "Features Sample" report called "Formatted Report for Drill" and copied into the mobile folder.  I appears on the iPad with tables shown nicely and all graphs replaced with the same "This content is not supported" error.
Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?
    Thanks.

After posting the question, I found this document:
Link: [SAP BusinessObjects Mobile Release Notes|http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/boexir31SP4/en/400_mobile_for_iPad_rn_en.pdf]
which describes many unsupported features and partially explains the issues I'm seeing.
On some reports I can switch to simpler graphs (basic 2D pie, etc) and the graph will work on the iPad.  But there are others where I cannot get any graph to work.  I'm still working on that...

  • Problems with changings within Design Studio Report published on BI Mobile App

    Hello BI Mobile Experts,
At the moment we are setting up a prototyp for BI Mobile reporting with SAP Business Objects Mobile and the BI Mobile App.
We created a report with Design Studio and published this report without problems within the Mobile Category. This Report was displayed correctly on iPads we are working with.
This week we made some changings within the report (new Crosstab, changings within css file). Unfortunatelly this changings were not displayed within the Mobile App. When we run the report local on the desktop within Design Studio everything works fine and is displayed correctly. It seems like the iPad is caching the report and doesn't get the new definitions, because after uninstalling the complete app from the iPad and installing it again, the report is displayed correctly.
Does anybody of you have same issues and is knowing how to solve that?
    Thank you and best regards,
    Gerardo

    Hi Emre
I recall when I installed DS on our BI 4.1 SP2 system, the Analysis Application Service is not added to the Adaptive Processing Server (APS) automatically, I had to manually include the service into the APS for it to work correctly.
To make the dashboards visible to the BI Mobile applications, you must assign the category "Mobile" to the dashboards.
    Regards

  • Mobile Server on BI Platform - IPAD Performance

    Hello,
i created a Report with BO Design Studio and assigned it to Mobile Category. The BO Server is 4.1 - SP01.
When opening the Report on an IPAD 2 (newest BI Mobile) it takes about 5-8 seconds longer than in Browser.
Even an empty Report (just the IPAD template from  BO Design Studio with no data source) takes 8-10 seconds to open.
Is that "Speed" normal or does this indicate, that i have Performance issues?
At the Moment i am the only user on the System.
    Regards Martin

    Hi Martin,
As per my Experience, Reports in browser will always open fast compare to Mobile Client
I have raised the same point 18 Months back, Ended with no solution.
One of the consultant explained like Mobile will be having less processing and bandwidth/Resource compare to the browsers in the PC.
I am in assumption that mobile reports will have slight delay in opening/executing.

  • SAP Business objects mobile on Android - No connections

    Dear All
I have downloaded the SAP Business objects mobile app on my Android smartphone. The smartphone has a VPN connection to our company network.
With the IPad I already managed to get a connection to our BO server and I am able to see our mobile reports (Webi+Dashboards).
But other than on the IPad I am not able to see on the Android a connection to our BO server. I neither see the option to create a new connection. All I see is the 'SAP Analytics Gallery'.
Is this the correct app or do I need any additional authorisations or any other downloads to be able to get a connection?
I hope you can help me.
    Best Regards
    Danya Liebig

    Hi
I think you've already logged into the Analytics gallery in your workflow.
you need to go to the 3 dots/lines > (icon top right hand corner) > settings > application settings > Connections > new connection

  • Viewing Mobile vs. Desktop visits.

I have recently launched both a mobile and desktop versions of a website.  How can I use the statistics feature of BC to view how many mobile visits I have had compared to desktop visits?  I know how to view differences in opperating systems and browsers.
    Regards,
    Jay

You can get some sort of a desktop vs mobile report by selecting Mobile -> Device Type.
"Other"  can be used for identifying "desktop" visits. Technically "Other" is the kitchen sink category for all visits that cannot be identify as Mobile Phone, Tablet, etc.

  • Microstrategy Mobile App crashing on iOS 8.1.2 and above in offline mode

    Hi,
Running iOS 8.2 on iPad Air, 2nd Gen
One of the functionalities of our Microstrategy mobile reports is to enable offline access for its users. As such, the whole data is pre-cached into the device when connected, and this cache is used to power the dashboards when there is no network access.
Until iOS 8, this functionality was working fine. Since the iOS 81.2 update, as soon as the user goes in offline mode and tries to navigate through the dashboards, the Microstrategy app crashes. We are using different models of iPad notably the iPad air.
I tried using a 3rd party tool to monitor the free RAM and observed that RAM falls below 20MB during such navigation on the dashboard in offline mode.
It would be really helpful if someone can suggest a solution.
    Thanks.

    Hi Rachit,
Please contact Microstrategy Support team. They could be solve the issue.

  • Generic Extractors & Mobile Engine

    Bonjour,
I have some doubts certain aspects of generic extractors and Mobile Reporting. Hope I can clarify them in SDN.
    1. Is Repair Request only suitable for certain Data Sources which is delta-enabled and has full update?
    2. Flat file upload allows assignment of more than 1 data sources. Is this multi-data source feature only for Datasources which only can support 1 update mode that is Full update?
    3. i-mode and wap can have ad-hoc analyses with standard web template. What does ad-hoc analyses mean? Is it ad-hoc query (web item ad-hoc query)?
    4. Is Mobile Engine used as technical basis when downloading precalculated web template by WebDav & Web folder or is it another alternative way to download the same?
Would greatly appreciate it if you could reply to all / some of the questions.
    best regards,
    Pascal Gabin

    Hi,
If a delta fails (status ’red’ in the monitor) or the overall status of the delta request has been set to red manually, the next data request will be performed in repeat mode. A repeat request extracts the incorrect or incompletely loaded data from the failed delta request, along with any new data since the original request. A repeat can only be requested in the dialog. If data from the failed delta request has already been updated to the data targets, delete the data from the data targets affected. If you cannot delete the data from the data targets, duplicate data records may be produced when the repeat request is performed.
    Check it once

    Priyanka

  • No files will open in PS in CS2 nor trial version CS5

Up to a month ago my PS CS2 was working great.  Then one day I found I could not open any files in the program. I tried reloading preferences with no change.  I then removed and reloaded the program (Creative Suite CS2), and PS worked great for two days, then went back to the same problem.
I recently downloaded a current verions of CS5 (with all updates) and it has the same problem.  I notice in File>Open Recent it shows a record of alll the files I tried to open.  I tried using various methods of opening the files, such as through bridge, and explorer.  I reloaded Preferences with no change.
I looked for conflicks with my virus program (Vipre) and made PS an approved program, no change.  I feel there must be some conflict in my system, but I cannot find what it is.  I want to note that I do run a number of video and 3d programs.  And all my other Adobe products work great.
I might mention that I did try Fireworks CS5 recently, and it worked great with photos, no problem.  The only program that seem affected is PS.
I am running a Dell Latitude (D520) with Windows XP, Professional, Service Pack 3, Intel (R) Core (TM)2 CPU, T5500 @1.66GHz, 1.99 GB of RAM, Physical Address Extension.
I have searched the web for answers, none worked.
    I would appreciate any help.

    Hunt:
    Thank you for your help.
Now, do you get any error messages? If so, what are they, as accurately, as you
can articulate them.  NO.  AS I MENTIONED BEFORE WHEN I RELOADED THE CS2 AGAIN A FEW WEEKS AGO, IT DID WORK FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS, THEN STOPPED.  BEFORE IT STOPPED THE FIRST TIME I USED THE PROGRAM FOR SEVERAL YEARS WITHOUT A PROBLEM.

i am getting different output on different printers as well. I have classes defined as Printeable that draw forms, each form has 75 questions and they are all done using graphics2D some printer prints all the pages perfectly some other with different margin and on a laser printer i get only one box.
If it helps someone, for testing, i printed to file (.prn) and read the ouput through Red Titan it's free
it showed me one box out of 76
    just the first one ????
possible solution that would help for margin

i used book and send printeable class and appended them into the book class
i am dying to solve this problem and wondering if there is better way for testing and how to make all pages
compatible for all printers. I want my program to send all forms to printer same format same size
is there any suggestion?? what am i doing wrong?
    by the way
    bk.append((Printable)componentsToBePrinted[i],pf);
componentsToBePrinted[] is an array of classes that implements Printeable and they all draw the forms correctly and sends to the printer. It is working mostly but i needed to work on alll printers no exceptions
I appreciate any help and i will issue all my duke starts im new to posting in the forum but i will give all my points for this tip
    PLEASE HELP

I want my program to send all forms to printer same format same size is there any suggestion??Produce a PDF... effectively delegating printing there-of to someone else. Problem solvered.

Please go through the following thread
    1. Read Datawarehousing books written by Kimbal or Inmon to familiarize yourself with the basic concepts.
    2. Follow the SAP training on BW Data Warehousing, BW Reporting and BW Modeling (there are SAP press books that can help with this)
    3. Business Information Warehouse Study Guide (Paperback)
    by Catherine M. Roze
4.There is also SAP BW Professional Training by Norbert Egger that is a good one.
. Try to grab a little bit of ABAP. Horst Keller book (ABAP Objects) can help.
    explore this -
    http://www.sap-press.com/product.cfm?account=&product=H1918
    and look for BW books.
