Mobile TV on 6230i

Hi,
Does anyone know if the Nokia 6230i is compatible with T-mobile's Mobile TV?
If not is there any software update etc that can be used to upgrade the phone?

No, it's too old and too basic to support it.
No software could change that.

  • Nokia 6230i and Nokia PC Suite

I have some problems with my Nokia 6230i, because it asks me, if I have to use it as a media (don't know if that is the word, because I'm using the Danish version).
Can I in anyways do, so my mobile phone (Nokia 6230i) automatically rejects the answer?
And can I deactive the showing of the synchronization on the mobile phone?

This is exactly the problem I've been having with PC Suite. I'm glad to find out it's the same with a cable connection before I go out and buy one in an attempt to get some connectivity.
It looks like the only option 6230i users have is a re-flash, which I understand is going to blank the data already stored in the phone. Nice.
This is irritating as hell, because the only reason I stayed with Nokia when it came to upgrading my phone was the 'ease' in moving data from one phone to another. I was offered a Motorola RAZR (which comes with a data cable...) but thought this would be easier.
I guess it shows that the free software supplied by Nokia is worth every penny. Buying a 3rd-party solution seems to be the best answer and will certainly give me better options for my next upgrade.

  • MMC 1Gb card {for mobiles}(problem)...6230i

i have a problem regarding my new 1gb mmc. i filled it up to just 400MB and when i put it in the mobile and go to access the gallery or the music player...the mobile like jams{in the loading bar}...can anyone please tell me what can i do cause i am confused... please help me...

I've a 2GB reduced size Dual voltage MMC in my 6230i. Its currently almost half full and the only problems I've had is that it tends to lock up the phone if it has to access files quite often that are stored on the MMC i.e. ringtones, wall paper and screensavers (store them to the phone instead). Also I've stored quite a lot of *.3gp files on the MMC and if you play a few in a row approx 6 files and try to play another if will not play. Just switch the phone off and then back on again and it will start playing *.3gp files again.

The latest version of Adobe FlashPlayer can be obtained from here:
    http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFl ash
You can check here:  http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/  to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS. Note that version 10,1,102,64 is the last version available to PPC Mac users*. The latest version, 10.2.152.25 or later, is for Intel Macs only, as Adobe no longer support the PPC platform. Note that the latest Flash Player update only works on YouTube with Safari in 32 bit mode - until YouTube correct this.
    * Unhelpfully, if you want the last version for PPC Macs, you need to go here:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html  and scroll down to 'Archived Versions/Older Archives'. The first one on the list, Flash Player 10.1 is the one you download. More information here:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/838/cpsid_83808.html
You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/865/cpsid_86551.html#prob1=uninst,os=m10.6,
and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.

  • Nokia 6230i with Logitech Mobile Freedom

I've bought a Logitech headset with Bluetooth 1.2, and I simply cannot get my 6230i to pair with the headset.
I've tried several search/start combinations without luck.
Is there a Bluetooth upgrade that I need to have or what?
    Kind regards

is the headset compatible with the phone?

  • 6230i bad jpeg filename suffix - spurious " charac...

I have received a MMS (picture) from a Nokia 6101 on Vodafone (my mother's), to my 6230i on Virgin. I can view the text and image in the MMS. If I view the details however the file is called Image001.jpg"
A spurious " character has been appended to the '.jpg' suffix of the image file.
Because of this I am unable to save the image as the 6230i auto-appends the existing file suffix which contains an illegal character - the phone shows an error message 'Cannot use /:\*,?;"|<>¥↲'
I am unable to view MMS in PC Suite - they do not show up. So I'm basically stuck. Not a serious problem just a little annoying. Is there anyway I can hack the phone memory directly to delete the " or rename the image ?
If I put a Virgin SIM in the 6101 & send to my 6230i (Virgin) this does not happen. So I don't think either phone is the culprit & I'm wondering about some issue with transmission from Vodafone to Virgin - MMS gateway - if such a thing exists ?
Any suggestions gratefully received beyond contact customer support for the networks - I'll do that when I get a chance.
    TIA,

Vodafone say its not their problem as MMS sends/receives ok on their network.
Virgin have tried to help but so far are at a loss. As the Virgin network is really T-Mobile, I don't know how much Virgin themselves can do.
Why I think its the phone is that even though the network may be the cause, the phone should deal with it.
If I forward the MMS with the extra " out of the phone to my web email it comes through fine. So it is able to parse/transmit the message just can't interpret the filename itself when trying to save the image.

  • 6230i - What's the maximum attachment size for EMa...

    Hi
I got my new 6230i (Firmware 3.40 on T-Mobile) yesterday and have just set up my email on it and discovered that you can attach files to emails. Only problem seems to be that it says my attachments exceed the limit. That's a bit unfortunate as I've tried to attach only one image (~350kB) which I took with the built in camera.
Anyone know what the maximum size allowed for an attachment is and is there a way around it?
    Thanks
    Thomas

We are talking about 6230i (and not 6630).
In 6230i case, the max. size is limited:
    Sending: 100kB
    Receiving: 50kB
This is limited by the phone (and not network or email provider).Message Edited by embedded_system on 19-May-2006

thanks for taking the time to read this note

    1) Go to www.nokia.com/pcsuite and download to desktop Nokia PC Suite 6.80
    2) Install the Pc Suite from desktop by double click the exe file. Follow instructions on how to get connected.
    3) Open PC Suite Transfer Music. Open File option - Scan Music - Locate Folder where you have the WMA Music.
    4) WMA music is now in "all music" view. Highlight the file you want to move to phone and drag it to my collection and it will convert the music to suitable format.
This was one simple way, you learn more once you try this first. Let us know did you succeed. Read Nokia Music Manager help also.

  • 6230i PAYG Bluetooth problems

I bought a 6230i O2 PAYG phone last week and I am a bit of a technophobe with regards to mobile phones (it is a replacement for my old 3210, no less!!??)
Anyway, to cut a long story short, I tried to pair phones with a work colleague to transfer a file via bluetooth, but whilst it found the phone to pair with, as soon as I selected 'pair', I kept getting the message 'unable to pair'.
Do I need to upload particular service settings (I haven't wap enabled it, for example) to the phone in order for bluetooth to work, or could I be having a hardware problem of some sort??
    Thanks in advance.

I think sending files should work without pairing.
    Just 'Send via Bluetooth'.

  • Where is the WAP Settings in Nokia 6230i

I need help finding WAP settings for my Nokia 6230i!!
PLEASE Someone help me. I really need them. It's urgent.

We need more info to be able to help:
    Country
    Network
There is no way we can even try to suggest which settings you should use without that info.
Have you tried your operators' website? Most have the settings easily accessible with the ability of having them sent to your mobile within minutes.

  • Transfering contents between 2 nokia mobiles

    hey guys....
does any one know how to transfere data between 2 nokia mobile phones ( 6680 and N70)?!!...I want to transfere all the text messages from onbe mobile to another.
    thanks

The N70 should be able to install the transfer app on the 6680 I would think - it did on my 6260. It should search for a phone, then install the program like any other.
Then it just dragged everything from the 6260 to the N70, apart from the messages, but as ricksvill suggested, you can use Lifeblog for that.Message Edited by richcowell on 17-Jun-2006

  • 6230i stops storing images through Bluetooth conne...

I have a 6230i and use a Bluetooth connection with Blue Soleil software to talk to a PC operating under XP Home.
Apart from periodic messages that the Blue soleil software had encountered a problem (which was reported 'automatically' to MS) the system worked fine up to 29th December 2006. In Jan 2007 I have twice taken photographs which have been stored in the mobile's memory (I can recall them in the Gallery and zoom in) but the Nokia PC suite refuses to transfer them to the computer.
When I try the transfer, I get the messages on the PC to indicate that a connection is established after I have accepted the connection on the mobile, but am then told after a pause that there are no new images to transfer. If I seek to interrogate the phone's memory I can get to a screen telling me that ~7Mb is stored in memory (correct) but the folder will not open (and the display sometimes jumps to the contacts 'folder'). I have downloaded and installed the latest version of the Nokia suite of software to the PC but have noticed no benefit, and sometimes get messages saying that the desired operation is not possible. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to what to try next?
    TIA
    Brian

Still no response, so I will revise my questions.
Since my last posting I have uninstalled PC Nokia Suite and Blue Soleil before rebooting. On booting up, I allowed the computer to find its own software for the Bluetooth dongle.
I then downloaded a new copy of Nokia PC Suite 6.82.22.0 and installed that using all defaults. The phone is now communicating with the 6230i as on the PC I can read the stored text messages (from the SIM) but I still cannot access or transfer images (or contacts).
When I use the file manager, I am told that that the phone memory is 24.62MB of which 11.28Mb are used, but the Gallery and Contacts folders are apparently empty with a default formation date of in 1980. Also, a properties/explore screen implies that they are read-only but the relevant boxes are 'greyed out'. Image store tells me that I transferred pictures in December 2006 without deleting them, but reports that there are no more recent ones to store (there are).
I assume that some setting has changed since December, but what should I be looking for please? Or should I be taking/sending the phone to a Nokia agent for diagnosis?
    TIA :-(

  • No music on my mobile.............

    hello.....
i have been trying to store & play music on my 6230i but with no sucess......i transfer the music from my PC to mobile with no trouble via a cable but when i go into the music file & try to play it i receive a message on screen saying FILE FORMAT NOT SUPPORTED.....if anyone could help me i would be most grateful
    many thanks.....

Your phone does not support Windows Media Audio (WMA) files.
Which audio file formats it supports, you can find on this page where the supported audio and video formats are listed:
    http://www.forum.nokia.com/video
E.g., MP3 or AAC should work.Message Edited by petrib on 19-Mar-2006
