Mobile web service fails today
Hi.
I can not send an SMS using the mobile web service today. I am getting an "OTN Authentication Failure". It was working yesterday. What is happening?
Regards,
Luis
You may be running into a limitation on the service - you are only allowed to send 10 messages per month. That is correct: 10. The reason it is so limited is we have had abuses of the service where people have been programmatically sending messages using the service. If you desparately need it for demo, one way is to have another account (perhaps a colleague) available.

Is the mobile web service (9iasmobile) down?
It was working in the early morning when I tested the mobile web servic. And then around 11 am it failed
with "Authentication Failure":
Version = 9.0.2.2.0
OTN Authentication Failure
Could this be that I was not allowed to use the mobile
web service anymore? I only tested somewhere like 8 or 9
times. The limit is 10 times a month due to folks abusing it. Unfortunatlely, 99.9% of people don't. But to isolate out the people that do a limit has been put on it. The trick around getting another 10, as ugly as it seems, is simply to create another valid OTN account to get your 10 per month.

apple mobile device service failing to start, and asking me if I have
sufficient privileges to start system service, help pleaseHi there Jbrashear,
It sounds like you want to know how to restart the Apple Mobile Device Service because of an alert that was displayed when you were trying to update or reinstall iTunes.
The article below will walk you through the process starting or stopping the Apple Mobile Device Service on your PC.
How to restart the Apple Mobile Device Service (AMDS) on Windows - Apple Support
Also, if you haven't already, take a look at this article which walk you through the process of completely removing iTunes and then reinstalling it.

Mid way through download of I-Tunes after clearing every Apple program from my computer I get "Apple Mobile Device Service" failed to start message. Eventually leading to Windows error 193 (error 7). How do I get Apple Mobile Device Service to start so I do not get error messages and failure of I-Tunes to install?
If you have a 64-bit machine, then try the "for older video cards" version...
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

Apple mobile device service failed to start
After months finally let itunes auto update its self. this didn't work due to the next error:
Service 'Apple Mobile Device Service' (Apple Mobile Device Service) failed to stat. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services.
Than i deleted all appele software from my windows 7 desktop and download the latest version form the appel site.
When installing this had the same message. after pressing ignore the installation continues and itunes tries to launch.
Now a message appears reading: Itunes was not installed correclty. Please reinstall. Apple error 7 and windows error 193
Last i tried to install the apple mobile device service separately but this also didn't helpFor general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.

Help! Following a standard upgrade I got the error message "iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows Error 193).
I am running Windows 7 and installing again brings the message "Apple Mobile Device Service failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services"
I have uninstalled everything Apple, deleted all related folders and run as administrator numerous times with no luck.
I had hoped that iTunes 12.1.2 would resolve the issue, unfortunately it failed to do so leaving me iTunes free which is driving me mad!
Can anyone advise what else I can do to resolve the error and bring back iTunes?
ThanksFor general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.

I have a dell 64 bit pc and had an older version of ITunes installed. When I tried to install the 12--- version, the install stopped with the message, "Apple Mobile Device Services failed to start, verify that you have sufficient privileges to start systems services". I have no clue what that means. can anyone help. ????
Hi doywks,
The Apple Mobile Device is a component of iTunes that communicates between your computer and your iPhone or iOS device. The error message you are seeing "verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services" has to do with the Windows operating system. It's possible that you are not logged in as the administrator for your Windows PC. Or, you may have antivirus software stopping the Apple Mobile Device from running.
If you are having issues updating iTunes on your PC, follow the steps in the article below.

I recently got an iPhone 5s and had to download the new itunes which I had been putting off for ages, otherwise it wouldn't sync. It wouldn't let me download and instead said 'service mobile device service' failed to start. I then tried to uninstall (as recommended by apple) and re install but the same error came up. If i click ignore, it finishes downloading but refuses to open, instead coming up with 'error 7 windows error 193'. Ive tried everything and this is really frustrating, help would be much appreciated
OK Dave, i just found one solution that worked for me. However, I find that solutions appearing on discussion threads often are very OS and machine specific, so I normally try a variety of suggestions. After awhile one suggestion normally works. So try this one, remembering I have a Dell PC with Win 7 x 64 which may not fit your situation.
Go to https://discussions.apple.com/message/24606166#24606166 where you will find a solution from touringtest2. The soulition requires an easy uninstall of Apple software items. I followed the steps outlined exactly and have successfully installed the most recent iTunes software. Hope this works for you and a few others too. Apple support sure doesn't make it easy for interested users which is why I appreciate support communities like this. Thank you touringtest2 wherever you are. Best - RonS42 -
HT1926 Installation fails because Apple Mobile Device Service failed to start?
When I attempted to update ITunes, it failed at the starting services point because "Apple Mobile Device Service failed to start". The ignore button would not work. Retry did not fix it. I have deleted all ITunes from my computer, restarted, and attempted a new install. Same problem. Help.
The frequently suggested repair steps listed in comments at http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 and http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1926 did not work for me yesterday when I attempted for an entire day to fix this commonly reported problem with the newest iTunes update. I now realize that I overlooked one step listed in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923.
My computer has a Windows 64 bit operating system. I should have paid attention to this instruction:
"If you have a 64-bit version of Windows, you'll need to confirm that the following folders have been removed:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Bonjour
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\
C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes\
C:\Program Files (x86)\iPod\ "
Tonight, I removed those previous version files from the Program Files (x86) directory and executed the rest of the steps listed. Success resulted. If you are struggling like I did to install the iTunes newest update on a Windows 64 bit operating system, you might benefit to recheck that you followed the instruction listed above. -
Installing itunes to my laptop I get an error message (Apple mobile device service fail to start verify that you have sufficient privileges to tart system services)
You seem to have installED iTunes and are trying to connect your iDevice, is that right?

I have recently been getting messages that ITunes was installed incorrectly. I've followed all the recommend procedures and it still does not work. I'm also getting a message that the Apple Mobile Device Service failed to start. Also, when I plug in my Iphone to the computer, it downloaded the correct device driver but failed to recognize the Iphone so that I cannot transfer my photos to the PC. Do you have any advice?
The error message I'm getting is #7, Windows #193. I have 64bit.

Adding paging to Azure Mobile Web Service Query
Hi all,
I need to add paging to my Mobile Web Service, and in referencing this page it has a link stating "For more information, see
Add paging to your queries."
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/azure/jj677199.aspx
However, the link takes me to "Windows Store Samples". Does anyone know or have the correct reference for adding paging?
Thanks,
K.

With a recent update of itunes, ( a couple weeks ago), when plugging in my iphone, itunes did not automatically launch...and when manually selecting itune to open I recieve the statement ...
"application itunes helper.exe - mobile me service failed to start becasue missing MSVCR80.dll" ?
I have gone to the itunes site and reloaded itunes....and did not fix the problem. ....helpClick here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

Weblogic invoking web service failed due to socket timeout
Hi,
I encountered an error when I invoke web service from OBIEE 11g. The web serivce resides on Websphere running on other machine.
An error says that "Invoking web service failed due to socket timeout." and it seems that it stopped in just 40 secs.
Is there any settings of WebLogic server to avoid this? This web service normally runs for more than 60 sec.
I have checked several parameters by WebLogic admin console and changed those values, but I still receive same errors.
Regards,
Fujio SoneharaHey Eason,
As I had previously mentioned, I have checked the FE server certs and have mentioned the signing algorithm it used to sign the certs, which was sha1DSA and not sha1RSA, I even checked my CA list of issued certs and have found all certs are signed the same.
Signature algorithm: sha1DSA
Signature Hash Algorithm: sha1
Public Key: RSA (1024 bit)
I could run request and reinstall all day long it will still get the same certs signed with the algo..
Doing some research I attempted to see if I could change the signing cert for a specific cert template that was being used to issue the Lync FE certs... however seems that from according to
this, that I'd have to completely rebuild my CA before I'd be able to request and issue a cert with the proper signing algorithm?!
This
says its possible but not supported, what do I do in this situation? Is my only option to rebuild teh entire CA and cert infrastructure?
I noticed my CSP is set to Microsoft Base DSS Cryptographic Provider, and under the CSP folder there is no "CNGHashAlgorithm" key so I'm using a "Next Gen CSP" apparently? Is this CSP good enough to support Lync...Straight up where is
the Lync documentation on the CA setup requirements??
This google link doesn't tell you how you should setup a CA for Lync, what settings need to set etc.. -
OTN Mobile Web Service and Cingular Wireless
Has anybody gotten the SMS message service to work with Cingular Wireless? It doesn't seem to work for me. Cingular's format is "[email protected]" and messages are received fine if I email to this address. Doesn't the OTN Web Service need to be updated on the server side, Oracle?
OTN Mobile web service is down due to some security concerns. It will be brought back later sometimes.
