Mobileme Address Panel

When I change an email address in contacts both the old and new address are pulled up when I address an email to this contact.  When I go to Mobileme, Window, Address Panel I can see both the old and new email address, but can not figure out how to delete the old contact.

The multiple addresses show up on the iPhone, iPad and laptop.  I was just thinking it might be easier to delete old on the laptop, mobileme control panel, but assume if there is a way to delete them on the iPhone, it will sync to all three devices.

  • Safari Setup won't provide MobileMe control Panel

When I did the safari setup it did not provide the MobileMe control panel. Thus while I must have gotten by bookmarks once upon a time, I now cannot update them because I don't have the mobileme control panel that provides the sync capability.
I have tried reloading safari but it still does not provide the control panel. Is there a way to get the control panel without reloading safari?
    thanks

    HI Shannon,
First, there is no Control Panel on a Mac. It's called the System Preferences pane. It's located in your Applications folder. If you have a MobileMe account, the MobileMe icon will be displayed there.
You can access your MobileMe account by typing in: www.me.com into the Safari Address Bar, press the Return key. You will be prompted for your username password. That should allow you access to your MobileMe account that way.
More information on a MobileMe account here. http://www.apple.com/support/mobileme/
If you need more help, just post back!
BTW, you posted in the Safari for Windows forum but your profile indicates you have a Mac.
Considering your referred to the Win Control Panel, are you using a PC or a Mac? Please click My Settings on the right side of this window and update your profile including which Windows or Mac operating system you are running. Thanks.

  • Address Panel

I have a question about the address panel in iCal. I believe it is supposed to take contacts from your address book and put them in the address panel within iCal, however whenever I open the address panel, it is completely blank and there is no where I see to add anything.
What's up with this? I'm trying to figure out how to send calendar invitations to people and I believe that could be the culprit. Even if it's not, I still would like to know what the heck it does or is supposed to do.
    Thanks!
BTW, I am using MobileMe to sync my contacts. Not sure if that has anything to do with it or not. Thanks in advance for the help!!

    Eric,
If you go into iCal, then Window > Address Panel or CommandOptionA brings it up.
There is always something I miss, or never noticed.
Maybe it's supposed to be blank. EIther way, I have no idea what the point of it is. Is yours blank?
No, mine displays my Address Book entries.
It should not be blank. When I drag one of the entries to iCal it creates an event named "Meeting with..." (Name of contact).
...I think that might be the reason I can't invite attendees.
Perhaps refreshing the iCal plist file may return the function. You will find the com.apple.iCal.plist file in your Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences Folder. Quit iCal, drag the com.apple.iCal.plist file to your Desktop, log out/in or restart.
And yes, to upgrade the new MobileMe you go into the calendar section on MobileMe =).
I am waiting to upgrade when IOS 4.2 is released for the iPad.
    ;~)

  • Is there a way to have the address panel open automatically when opening Mail in Mavericks?

Before upgrading to Mavericks, Mail panels such as the Address Panel would open if they were open last time quit the program. Now I can't see a way to have this happen. I have to manually open these.

You can add the Address Panel to the toolbar for easy access. Personally, I just start typying and let Autofill enter the email address I want.

  • Contacts not appearing in the Mail address panel

If I am in Mail on my MacBook the mail program knows nothing about any addresses in my contact list.
The Address Panel and Previous Contacts lists are empty.
If I open my contacts list - I see all my contacts properly.
They also sync properly between my phone and macbook.  I can add a contact to my pone and a second or two later it appears on my MB; and I can add a contact to my MB and seconds later it appears on my phone.
Here is when I believe the problem started.
I wanted all my mail and contacts to be in my 'documents' folder so I could sync that folder, and only that folder, between multiple places and machines and also backup everything in one fell swoop.
    a) I moved the mail and the application support/addressbook folders from my library to my docs folder.
    b) In the terminal created hard links in the original places pointing to the new.  I was careful to make hard links not soft.
From the finder and from the terminal the links are all working fine works fine.  And as I mentioned the sync function to my phone finds the moved files and works great.  Mail work fine. I can create new accounts etc so mail preferences work fine. I also did this with my messages and dropbox and they are working fine.
    If I  reveal   ' ~/Library/Application Support/AddressBook/MailRecents-v4.abcdmr'
It is in         '  /Users/MyUserFolder/Documents/$ AddressBook'
    If I  reveal   ' ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail'
    It is in         ' /Users/MyUserFolder/Library/Containers'
So everything looks good.  But obviously it isn't.  I am missing moving a file somewhere, or possibly a pref file needs edited.
Gosh, I sure hope Apple didn't hardcode a lowlevel address into the mail program somehow.  That would have been shortsighted and against unix principles that want everything to be accessible through the file system - but it wouldn't be the 1st time they changed something inside unix.
I found the discussion, Re: Why can't Mail access email addresses from Contacts? and looked at that.
I did not see anything that looked like it would help me since it seemed he could see the contacts in his address panel it just wouldn't auto search them. I thought about trying the two things Linc Davis mentioned but he cautioned against changing any of the contents of the sandbox.  The last time I was deep into the OS was before it had a sandbox so I am not familiar with it and am not sure what would or would not affect the sandbox; so I hesitate to try until I understand that.
    I am running 10.8.2 build 12C60 and Mail 6.2 (1499)  on a MB Pro 15" Early'08  2.5 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
So they is something about Mary Mail.  Anyone have any ideas for me?
Could Mail have a relative address or very low level address to the addressbook built into it?

    More Info:
    If I  reveal   ' ~/Library/Application Support/AddressBook/MailRecents-v4.abcdmr'
It is in         '  /Users/MyUserFolder/Documents/$ AddressBook'
    If I  reveal   ' ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail'
    It is in         ' /Users/MyUserFolder/Library/Containers'

  • How to work seperately with 2 MobileMe addresses in Mail?

    Hello!
I have several MobileMe addresses I'd like to add to Mail. I'm already working with one (private), but would like to add a second one (business). I don't want the mails to show up together, but keep both adresses seperate in Mail.
Can anyone tell me how to do this?
    Thanks!

Just create another MobileMe account in Mail. Go to Mail -> Preferences, click the Accounts icon and click the + button at the bottom left corner of the window. Enter the requested info.

  • Group name shows in the Address Panel, but when I click on it the addresses do not appear. It only happens with this group.

I send emails to a list that is divided into four groups.
Recently the fourth group has stopped working.
It has seventy addresses in it.
The others have between 70-100 and work fine.
When I type the name of the other groups into the address panel and click on it the addresses all appear.
When I do this with the fourth group only the name appears and not the addresses, so it does not send.
I now have to put each address into the panel individually which is time-consuming and annoying.
    Please help if possible. Thanks.

Assuming you are talking about Logic Pro X.... (You may want to update your Equipment list that shows below you post btw)
Go to Logic Pro X's preferences and turn on all the advanced features under the Advanced Tab...
Now LPX will be running under the full Logic Pro mode and not the cutdown 'Garageband Pro' mode and the missing features will be present.

  • Lost ability to add, delete and move email addy's in Address Panel

Not long ago I downloaded Snow Leopard 10.6.3 from disc and then upgraded to 10.6.8.  Perhaps a coincidence, but now I see I'm no longer able to use Address Panel as I previously had.  Specifically: I recall there had been + and - buttons to add and delete email addresses, but now I don't see these ~ perhaps I'm looking for the wrong thing?  Also, I can't drag and drop an addy from one group to another as I previously had.  I'm using Mail 4.6.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Other than the Snow Leopard download, I've no idea what may have caused this problem.  Or perhaps I simply don't know where to look ~
    Thank you!

    My bad ( : - 0 !  I figured this out:
It's Address Book ~ not Address Panel ~ that does the trick.
    Thanks!

  • Address Panel in iCal empty but typing in characters yields search results

I upgraded our 10.5 iCal Server to a Snow Leopard server about 6 weeks ago. At that time I also began upgrading users to 10.6 from 10.5. The address panel of iCal functioned properly with 10.5 clients before and after the server upgrade. However the 10.6 clients see nothing in the Address Panel of iCal until they begin entering a name, email address, etc.
If I use the iCal Server utility on my machine I can see resources and conference rooms (locations) that have been setup so I know the information is there and being served. Is this just the operation of 10.6 clients? I would imagine the address panel would populate automatically when opened rather than necessitating the entering of data to perform a lookup.
I feel like I am missing a switch or something simple. Anyone have any ideas?
Other than that issue it all works fine (iCal server with 50+ users scheduling).
    Thanks folks.
    Bill

Try deleting the index db: AddressBook-v22.abcddb. It is in your Library/Application Support/AddressBook/ folder.

  • Plus & minus keys not available in address panel

I just started using Mac mail and was able to add new addresses to the address panel, but lately the plus and minus signs are not available in the address panel window. How do I get them back? Thanks.

Hello, and welcome to the Discussions.
What address panel? In Mail you can add the address of a sender of and email via a command, but to otherwise add an address in the Addressbook, you must open the separate Addressbook application. The panel of AB reached from within Mail only support getting an address that is already in the AB.

  • Mail Address Panel

I have just installed OS X Yosemite and when in Mail, I can't find the Address Panel which I used to use with OS X Mavericks to select multiple addressees for an e-mail. As it stands now, I can only add addressees one at a time from contacts or Previous Recipients List, which is very time consuming. If I want to send out an email to say 20 recipients, how do I select them as I previously could by using Mail > Window > Address Panel and then select all the addressees that I wanted and then add them to my email with one click of the mouse?

Actually, I was being PC (Politically Correct). It's my wife who is having the problem. Sometimes, she cannot think of the names of the people she would like to send an e-mail (if it's one going to lots of people) so she always used the Address Panel as a way of kick-starting her brain as to who should receive the e-mail.
I guess she could always go through the alphabet from A to Z.
Just open contacts app next to the message window. You can even drag the contacts from the Contacts app into the Address line.

  • No contacts in Address Panel

Hi. Every now and again no contacts appear in my Address Panel. Nothing has changed as far as I know i.e. no iCal server changes and I'm not doing anything different on the iCal client. No pattern that I can see as to why this happens. Anyone got any ideas?

Do this, open your Address Book > Menu > choose Filters and UNcheck all filters.
    See your contacts now?

  • Direct download links for MobileMe Control Panel 1.1 and 1.2?

    Hi there everyone
Does anyone have the DIRECT download links for MobileMe Control Panel 1.1 (released September 2008), 1.2 (released November 2008) and 1.5.2 (released April 2010)?

Hi I saw a post from

Feb 8, 2014 5:58 PM (in response to AKAJEF)
on:  MobileMe is a discontinued service and the control panel should be removed if still present. Not doing so could cause Microsoft Outlook to freeze and/or issue error messages. See HT2992: MobileMe: Uninstalling the MobileMe Control Panel for Windowsfor details.
But I cannot fin out how to do this.  I have only iTunes installed on my PC and I keep getting bluescreens and errors messages about MobileMe.  I want to try to uninstall MobileMe, but cannot find out how to do so.  Can you please help me with some instructions?
    Thanks
    Vickifb

I tried that, and it did not work. When I went to Control Panel, selected MobileMe, and clicked remove, I got a loud error noise and the following error message: "The procedure entry point obj_exception_try_enter could not be located  in the dynamic link library objc.dll"
It then gives me an option to look for an answer online. I select that option, but nothing happens.
The link reference in the first post on this thread, HT2992: MobileMe: Uninstalling the MobileMe Control Panel for Windows, does not seem to exist. Clicking it just takes one to the main Apple support page.
This is causing me problems every time I use Outlook! There must be some way to fix this! Please help.
