MobileMe calenders and iphone

My MobileMe account has my correct calendars on it and my iphone is sent up to allow pushing but the calendars on my phone are not the same. Does anyone have any ideas how I 'fetch' the correct data?

I just, 30 minutes ago, learned, I think, the answer to that. I tried it and it worked for me. I had duplicate events and "sets" of calendars.
Delete the MobileMe account on the iPhone.
Restart the iPhone.
Add the MobileMe account back and turn on Calendar and Contact syncing.
You'll be asked if you want to merge the data. Tap yes.
This should, after a few minutes, set you up with only one set of calendars and contact groups.
Sync only over MobileMe and don't via iTunes.

I am having a problem with getting duplicate numbers within a single contact. (i.e. 2 home phone numbers when I've only entered one). I use MobileMe to sync to my outlook. On the mobileme site, the duplicate home numbers appear. But within outlook, it appears as only a single number. Any ideas on why? Another thing I noticed, is that in mobileme online the duplicate home numbers are always written in 2 different ways (i.e. 555/5552345 and (555) 555-2345). Thanks!

    Thats how mine is too.
When you put them in groups/folders in MS Outlook that is the only place they are.

  • ICal content disappeared but shows up on MobileMe and iPhone

    Hi!
I wanted to post a "question" and the "answer" because I've spent a couple of days on forums and testing and trying and restoring and ... well you get the picture. Here were my symptoms:
I have a MobileMe account. (ALL calendar data could be seen)
I have a personal iMac. (NO calendar data could be seen)
I have a work iMac. (NO calendar data could be seen)
I have an iPhone. (ALL calendar data could be seen)
I'm using MobileMe services and syncing all data between all four devices. (not to mention my wife's iphone)
    *THE PROBLEM:*
The problem was that for some unknown reason both of my iCal applications at work and at home suddenly disappeared. No data could be seen in either one. I figured something went wrong with a sync and I would just check my iPhone and MobileMe site to make sure all data was still there. YES all data was there - WHEW! Now, I would just manually sync my data and transfer all data from cloud replacing computer iCal data. No problem. I received no errors, clicked on iCal - nothing. Again-all data on iPhone remained nothing showed up on my work or personal iMacs. Confused, I decided to call up Apple's support for iPhones. I spoke (texted) with Michael M somewhere in Canada (very nice gentleman - did a wonderful job walking me through over an hours worth of ideas) but to no avail. We finally decided that I needed to use my Time Machine backup to get iCal to a "working" condition and upload all data to the cloud replacing everything from that scenario. This also did not work. Something got corrupted somewhere.
    *THE SOLUTION:*
I closed iCal and marched on over to Users/myuser/Library/Calendars/
and moved (didn't delete yet 'cause I was scared) EVERY folder into a "new folder" on my desktop. I then reopened iCal and WALLA - it began syncing immediately. Everything finally showed up. I sure hope this helps someone out there. If you would like a transcript of what me and the iPhone/iCal tech tried - I would be more than happy to forward that info on to you. My e-mail is jdunk(at)mac.com.

    Hey Timothy,
So there is two Contacts icons on the iPhone?
The iPhone 2.0 software adds a Contacts application to the iPhone.
    Try restoring the iPhone.

You can also try downloading the application in iTunes and then syncing it to the iPhone.

  • Help with Mobileme, iCloud, iPad, iPhone and MS Outlook 2010

    Hello,
    WHAT I HAVE NOW
I'm in a bit of mess and don't want to proceed until I can get some answers.  I have an iPad, iPhone and a PC (Windows 7).  I have a mobileme account also.  I also have iCloud Control Panel installed on my PC and recently bought MS Outlook 2010 to migrate from mobileme to iCloud and get this whole synching thing under control. Everything has been updated to the latest versions for iCloud.
I have an att.net email account (ran by Yahoo Pop3), live.com account, hotmail account, gmail account, mobileme account.  I have contacts in my most of these email accounts but there are many duplicates and info needs to be updated.  With iCloud and mobileme running, I have numerous calendars and can't get any of them synched.
    WHAT I WANT
I would like to migrate from mobileme to iCloud and use the iCloud Control Panel and MS Outlook 2010 to synch my mail, contacts and calendars from my PC, iPhone 4s and iPad (version).  I only want ONE calendar and ONE contact list.  Can there be a MASTER contact list within Outlook 2010 instead of all of these contacts from various email accounts? If so, would I create a master contact list within Outlook 2010 and then go to the various web email programs and delete their contacts? How to I get these calendars under control with one Home calendar?
WHAT I HAVE DONE SO FAR
I started to migrate from mobileme to iCloud but stopped to install MS Outlook 2010 first.  I installed MS Outlook 2010 and got all of my email accounts imported even having to manually move the att.net (Yahoo Pop3) messages because the folders and emails within would not transfer from Windows Live Email to Outlook.  Currently having problems trying to get the contacts unduplicated and corrected but when I save a newly corrected contact, it disappears.  Are these contacts synching as I insert them and then disappearing?  Should I go offline to create correct this contact list?  What will happen when I add iCloud to the mix? Will I have to go back and correct all duplicates again? Can someone provide the order of these steps to take the least amount of time?
I know this is a lot but it's fairly complicated to me and I also have another person in my house that has a PC, iPad and iPhone for whom I have to do the same thing.  Trying to not waste time and do this the right way first. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I backed up everything and finally took the leap to migrate from mobileme to iCloud.  With a few glitches all seems to be working except that iCloud did not grab the updated and current Contact list from MS Outlook 2010 and seems to have an outdated contact list with only half the number of contacts.
Can someone help me get iCloud to grab the correct contact list out of MS Outlook 2010 so that it can be distributed to my iPad and iPhone also? Thanks!

  • Syncing 2 iphones with Mobileme account and family pack account

I can't seem to get this answered.. I have a .mac (mobileme) account and I just upgraded the account to the family plan which give me 4 additional accounts. I am trying to sync the second email account up with my ical and contacts and I can't figure out how to accomplish this. The ical and contacts are under my email and not the family pack email. I would like to know how you share ical and contacts with multiple iphones..........

Probably, but that would result in much logging in and out as we both access the home computer many times in one day. Also, I find that Windows XP slows down a bit with multiple accounts. (Still haven't upgraded to Mac yet... It's coming!) I'll give it a shot when I get home and see if it works. Thank you.
Does anyone else have any experience with this setup?

  • Time in iCal are US (EST) but sync to MobileMe and iPhone as UK (GMT)

Time in iCal are US (EST) but sync to MobileMe and iPhone as UK (GMT). How can I correct this? I thought I had changed all my settings after I got back from the UK.
    Any help would be great.
    Thanks.

Sorry, I re-read this and realized that my explanation of the problem may not have been clear. (I need to get more sleep)
When I add a new event into iCal on my Mac it shows up at 1:45pm EST. When the event syncs via MobileMe it shows up as 6:45pm (18:45) on my iPhone and in MobileMe online. How can I get the events to shows up at the correct time (1:45pm) on my iPhone and online?
    Thanks

  • Hiding calenders on iPhone

    Hi there,
I am using MobileMe to sync my data between Mac and iPhone. I have some calenders on my Mac that I don't want to be synced to my iPhone or at least I want to hide them on the iPhone.
Is there a possibility to do this? Hiding a calender on the Mac is unfortunately not synced to the iPhone.
    Thanks for any hint,
    KM

    Hello K-M,
First of all, "hiding" calendars on the iPhone is not a built-in function, so unless there's a third party app from the App Store that can do it (and there are none that I'm aware of), this is not possible.
You can selectively sync calendars from your Mac to the iPhone by turning off Calendar syncing within the iPhone's Mobile Me account settings in Mail, Contacts and Calendars on the iPhone. After you turn off calendar syncing on the iPhone, the next time you connect to iTunes via USB, you will notice that the option to sync calendars is available under the Info tab for your iPhone. You can then selectively sync specific calendars to the iPhone via iTunes.
Keep in mind, that when you turn off MobileMe calendar syncing on the iPhone, the calendars will be removed from the iPhone until you sync them onto the iPhone via iTunes. Either enabling or disabling calendar syncing on the iPhone will remove them until the data is once again synced either over-the-air or via USB.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1960
Also, if you disable calendar syncing for the Mobile Me account on the iPhone, the calendars on the iPhone will only update when synced with iTunes via USB.
    Hope that helps,
    Charles H.

  • HELP!!MacBook Pro and iPhone 5 won't sync via iCloud!

I've just purchased and set up my first Mac. I have a MacBook Pro, and use and iPhone 5. I've set up iCloud on both in the settings / system preferences to sync contacts, calenders, notes etc... but for the love of trying and following any support I can find online I just can not get any of it onto my MacBook!
    nc
I've checked, rechecked and double checked the settings on both the iPhone and MacBook re. iCloud and they are set up correctly. I've tried backing up from the iPhone which is does (within 1 min) but still can't see any contacts on my MacBook. I've checked for and installed all software updates, and am now at the point of pulling my hair out!
Any sugestions or help will be massively appreciated!
    Driving myself insane.

Is the contact and calendar data from your iPhone visible at http://www.icloud.com/ when you log in using the same AppleID used for iCloud on your phone?
Backing up to iCloud is not the same as syncing. For contacts and calendars to actually sync (not just backup) the relevant ON/OFF toggle switches need to be turned on in Settings > iCloud on your phone.
Are you logged into iCloud in the System Preferences pane on your MacBook using the same AppleID as you are logged into iCloud on your iPhone? The same ON/OFF settings also need to be turned on in there too.
What version of OS X is running on your MacBook?
Once you've check the basics (which I'm sure you already have) try these tips from Apple: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3998

    Please can any one advise?
    I have a Macbook Pro 15" mid 2012, I also have a iPhone 4S which I sync with iTunes.
Now, my wife has a iPad and a iPhone 4S.
I would like to sync her iPad and iPhone together (Contacts, Calenders etc)
and I sync my Macbook with my iPhone 4S together
But never the twin shall meet. I do not want her contacts and calender on my devices and she does not want my contacts and dates on her devices.
We both have seperate apple id's
All I can think of is set up a guest account for her, install iTunes on that account and put her on that. However it no longer os a guest account but hers.
Thank you for reading this, all advice gratefully received

go to itunes preferences, store, uncheck automatic downloads. also when your phone is connected you can click  on apps and only check the ones you want on your phone, go down to the bottom right and click apply.

  • HT201317 I have a MobileMe account and have shared many MobileMe Galleries.  MobileMe Galleries are going away in June.  How can I share a photo album with others using iCloud?

I have a MobileMe account and have shared many MobileMe Galleries.  MobileMe Galleries are going away in June.  How can I share a photo album with others using iCloud?

The new ios version of iPhoto allows sharing.  Here's a blurb from Apple's web site:
There’s the old way of creating photo galleries, then there’s the iPhoto way. Select a group of photos and iPhoto automatically flows them into a beautiful journal that’s fun to personalize and share online. Touch a photo to make it bigger or smaller. Or drag it to a different spot on the screen. iPhoto adjusts the page around whatever you’re doing, so your journal always looks great. You can even add captions, maps, dates, and weather — giving family and friends the big picture at a glance.
    More things you can do:
With iPhoto, there’s more than one way to share a photo. Post pictures directly to Facebook, Flickr, or Twitter. Play an impromptu slideshow on your iPad or iPhone. Or stream photos to your HDTV to give your big moments room to shine.
I have not used ios version of iPhoto to share "journals" and I'm not sure this is part of iCloud or not.  You'll have to do a google search on "ios iphoto" and read up of this journal thing.  As far as I know, this is the only way of sharing photos.  I'm not sure whether other friends use a browser to view these journals or whether they need something special.  Any way - search around to find answers.

  • Events showing up many times in iCal on Mac and iPhone

Certain events are showing up many times within my iCal and iPhone. These are clearly duplicate events and can show up as much as 50 times or more on the same day at the same time. Some additional background:
    1. I use mobileme and have my iCal syched through Mobile Me
    2. I have a gmail calendar that is synching (these events do not appear to be duplicating)
    3. I synch my iPhone calendar with my work PC through a USB chord. My work PC uses MS Outlook. Some of these events are duplicated. Especially annual events such as birthdays.
    4. I have set my wife's calendar to publish and I have subscribed to her calendar. She has a far more extensive issue of events duplicating and these duplications show up on my iPhone since I subscribe to her calendar.
Any help would be much appreciated.

    Hi Martin,
Are you using MobileMe? Are you syncing the events to the iPhone through iTunes or pushing them over the air with MobileMe?
If you are using MobileMe you can set the Time Zone online at http://www.me.com/calendar/ click the Gear> Preferences> Advanced.
Try turning off Time Zone Support on the iPhone, tap Settings> Mail, Contacts, Calendars> Time Zone Support, off.
Did that change the time on the events?
If you are not using MobileMe or that does not resolve the issue, try the tips below.
If the Time Zone Support is on in iCal, try disabling it. Go to iCal>Preferences> Advanced> uncheck Turn on time zone support. You can change Time Zones of events in iCal as described in the iCal help article: "Changing the time zone for an event"
If the issue persists try resetting the sync history as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TA23030 and then syncing the calendar events to the iPhone again.

I just upgraded to the new mobile me calendar and now all my calendar entries on iCal have been erased. As I type this the calendar entries are still on the mobile me and iphone calendars. How do I restore the calendar entries to iCal?

Please always post your System details when you have a query. The upgrade to the new MobileMe calendar produces different results, and different problems, with different versions of OSX.
Snow Leopard: during the upgrade process your iCal calendars should be moved to MobileMe (this can take some time and you have to wait for it to happen). Once done, your iCal reads the calendars from MobileMe so any changes made in either place will be visible immediately. If this has not happened then this Apple Tech Note provides instructions:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3397
Leopard: when the upgrade is completed iCal on Leopard will not be able to see the MobileMe calendars until an additional process is carried out, detailed in this Apple Tech Note:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4330
Tiger: iCal on Tiger cannot read the MobileMe calendars, period. The only workaround is to upgrade to Leopard, or Snow Leopard if possible (Intel Mac required).

  • ICal / MobileMe To Dos & iPhone syncing over mobile networks: Solution!!!

I have been after a solution to use the to do list in iCal on my Mac @ home and the MobileMe Calendar web page while at work & away from home AND have it sync OTA with my iPhone. There hasn't been a solution that I have found for this until now! I have tried Things and OmniFocus, but in my opionion they are both too bloated for my needs. I want a simple todo list with due dates, notes, priorities and URLs, that I can use on desktops as well as mobile. The iCal / MobileMe to do list is perfect for this, but until now there hasn't been a way to keep the same todo list on my iPhone and keep it in sync everywhere.
I now have a solution. Appigo recently launched a beta of their iCal Sync app for OSX. I downloaded & installed this to my Mac at home, and downloaded their iPhone Todo app. Great syncing between iCal and iPhone over my home Wifi network. Then, I thought, what is to stop me using this over the internet when I'm not at home? So I setup a domain with no-ip.org, which allows you to point a domain name at your home DSL router IP address and have it forward traffic to your home computer. Using a DNS solution in this way means you can dynamically update the domain name to change when your router public IP address changes (unless you have a static IP assigned with your ISP). So, anyway, I set this up to point at my router's public IP address, then configured my home router to forward a specific TCP port to my Mac. So when traffic arrives at the router from the internet destined for this specific port, the router forwards it to the Mac. I configured the Appigo iCal sync app to listen on a static port (the same one I configured on the router) and ensured both my Mac and router firewalls were set to permit this traffic.
So now, with MobileMe set to sync automatically, I can add/edit/delete a todo on my iPhone when I'm away from my home wifi network and it instantly syncs with iCal on my Mac at home, then that gets propogated almost instantly to MobileMe. Also it means a change to the todo list on my Mac or on the MobileMe Calendar web page will also almost instantly get propgated to my iPhone (next timne the Todo app syncs).
Brilliant! The perfect solution for me, and only costing the price of the Appigo todo iPhone app!
If anyone would like more detail on how this was all done, let me know and I can go into more detail.
Just need to find something similar for note syncing now, and I'll be sorted.

Thanks for the excellent information on Appigo ToDo and Sync. This is great way to fulfill the unexplainable absence of this feature from Apple's own application suite (MobileMe, iCal, To Do items).
I downloaded Sync and the iPhone app. Configuration was a snap. I'm still working from a trial membership of MobileMe...with this feature working I'm just about ready to pony up and get a full membership.

  • Mobileme, iTunes and backing up...

My brother who is dubious of the mac ecosystem but was impressed enough with his orginal iPhone to buy a 13 macbook pro the other day.
And MobileMe in the process in large part for the iPhone backup options.
He has been calling me confused about setting it up. I suggested he call AppleCare, which he did and they asked if he wanted to set up his iPhone to sync with MobileMe or iTune, via chat since he was told to use that and NOT AppleCare, what a bad set up honestly imho. And his connection was dropped. Angry he stopped trying and went to bed.
I am well versed in Apple products but I don't have an iPhone so I wasn't helpful but it seems to be it shouldn't be an either/or option or is it?
I would think that if you have an iPhone you are using your computer for the backup and access the App store etc. and that the benefit of the MobileMe is that it being out there in in the cloud its there for safety incase your computer is lost, stolen or otherwise ruined.
So are you NOT able to use both iTunes for your physical on the spot backup and syncing and the MobileMe in the event your iTunes or computer no longer wants to play nice?
Any help or insight would be great. I am hoping to give him some info by the morning.
    Thanks.

    You're welcome.
Apps and pics on an iPhone are not backed up to the cloud with a MobileMe account. When accessing a MobileMe account with the iPhone's Mail application, you can sync Contacts, Calendars, and Safari Bookmarks over the air with the same being kept synchronized between a Mac or Windows PC and the iPhone, or between a Mac and a Windows PC and the iPhone, or between more than one Mac and the iPhone, or between more than one PC and the iPhone.
And there is the MobileMe "Find My iPhone" feature in the event your iPhone is lost or stolen.
Apple provides a free Gallery app for viewing your MobileMe photo galleries which also allows for adding MobileMe photo galleries for other MobileMe users, and Apple provides a free iDisk app for accessing your MobileMe iDisk.
And it seems MobileMe and iTunes don't work together since you can end up duplicating the info by using both?
Completely separate functions, and there is no reason to do both. iTunes provides a notice/warning under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes that you are syncing contacts and calendar events over the air with your MobileMe account on your iPhone.
Prior to firmware version 3.0, you could sync contacts and calendar events over the air with a MobileMe account and/or with an Exchange account, or you could sync contacts and calendar events direct with a supported application on your computer via the iTunes sync process. You could do one or the other, not both at the same time.
The ability to do both at the same time was added beginning with firmware version 3.0 primarily for those accessing a business Exchange account on their iPhone that also wanted to sync personal contacts and calendar events direct with a supported application via the iTunes sync process on a personal computer at home. This way someone accessing a company Exchange account can access and sync their business Exchange contacts and calendar events over the air with their iPhone and access and sync their personal contacts and calendar events. When doing so, you can view business and personal contacts and calendar events combined or separately on the iPhone with business and personal contacts and calendar events kept completely separate and synced separately.
When doing both with a MobileMe account, this does nothing but duplicate the MobileMe contacts and calendar events on the iPhone.
I presumed apple being ad smart as it is would be making MobileMe to work in concert with iTunes but it doesn't really seem to be the case is it?
Yes it is the case with a notice/warning provided under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes when syncing contacts and calendar events over the air with a MobileMe account on your iPhone. You must manually select sync contacts and calendar events under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes and I'm not sure why anyone would want to do both with a MobileMe account when their contacts and calendar events are already being kept synced over the air with their MobileMe account on their iPhone.
With apps, Sync Apps should be selected under the Apps tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes. With this selected, after downloading an app with your iPhone, the app will be copied to your iTunes library on your computer the first time you sync your iPhone with iTunes after doing so. And you can re-download an app with iTunes on your computer or with your iPhone and you won't be charged again for a purchased app as long as you use the same iTunes account to re-download the app that was used to purchase the app originally, so there is no reason for apps on your iPhone to be synced with the "cloud" since there would be no benefit when doing so.
Photos in your iPhone's Camera Roll should be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera. There is a Sent to MobileMe option for photos on your iPhone to send a selected photo or photos to one of your available MobileMe photo galleries.

  • ICloud with os lion 10.5.8 and IPhone 3Gs

What a pain in the A**.  Is there anyone out there that can assist me? I would soooooo appreciate the feedback.  Not sure if its fully functional with this combination. (ICloud, Lion 10.5.8, IPhone 3Gs)  I dont want MobileMe.  I have an Mac email. I have the Iphone 3Gs with all of the updates. I just downloaded ICloud to my MAC itunes to get some of my music off the hard drive and free up space. When I synced my IPhone through ITunes, I am not able to look at my photos, emails etc (gmail etc).  Its says I need to sign in with correct password? Ive put in the correct passwords?  I used the password that I use on my mac (which works fine) but doesn't work on IPhone?  Crazy.  I authorized my Itunes, with no luck of finding the area to adding the IPhone either?  Does anyone know if its compatible? I do have an upgrade to Snow Lepoard, (that I have not upgraded to yet) but was reading in the forum, thats its not compatible with ICloud and IPhone 3Gs?
Any one that can help would be so greatly appreciated!

Mac OSX 10.5 is Tiger, not Lion. iCloud is not supported on Tiger AFAIK unless you login to iCloud.com. I still run Snow Leopard (which you should probably upgrade to), and iCloud is basically useless for me. The whole reason we have iPhones is so we DON'T have to stay connected to Wi-fi 99% of the time to enjoy iOS services right? lol
If your passwords don't work, you may just want to reset them, so then both your iPhone and Mac will recognize them.
