MobileMe Drafts to Mail App

When I setup my mail account it doesn't import my drafts from my online mobileme email. How can I get the contents of that drafts folder into my Mail App Drafts folder?
Thanks!

If the account is setup as an IMAP connection, it should sync the drafts also... Make sure it is setup that way.
Another thing you can try is to save a draft in your computer (make sure the settings in the mailbox actions tab in the preferences / accounts menu have save "save drafts in remote server" checked), and then go online and see were these messages are saved. After that, put them all in "one basket", and see if they are synced to the Mail App.
Hope it helps!

  • Accidentally deleted MobileMe mailbox in Mail.app 4 and now need to recover

Here's what's up. Yesterday I accidentally deleted a mailbox on my MobileMe account. The one that has 30000+ messages in it form the past 3 years...
Realizing how stupid that was I immediately made a copy on a safe place of the local cache on my computer. So now I have a copy of that entire mailbox in .imapmbox format. Today I have tried to find a solution to figure out how to get that email back into Mail.app and I fail to find a way.
I have tried to make a bogus IMAP account and copy the mailbox to it but nothing happens, I have tried to import the email using the import tool in Mail.app but it can't recognize the filetype, I have tried to just copy the entire mailbox into the Mailboxes directory in my Library and then it actually appeared in the "On My Mac"-list as a mailbox but with no messages in it.
I have use emlxtombox converter and that gave me some result but the attachments were omitted.
    What to do?

Have you tried to import the mail box? You are trying to copy a back file into the mail app, it will not work as you found out. You should look into a way to backup your files.
    try the following:
    import mail box

    to restore

  • MobileMe keeps disabling: Mail App

Hi, I have a really bizarre problem. My MobileMe email account keeps switching off in the Mac Mail client. Every morning its disabled and I have to enter mail preferences / advanced and click on the "Enable this account" button.
Any ideas what's causing this? No mails are lost but its getting a little tedious...
    Thanks

    Hi,
Open System Preferences - MobileMe. Select the Sync tab.
Click the Advanced tab bottom right corner. Click: *Reset Sync Data* then click Done.
    See if that helps...

  • Redirect not working properly in mail.app

When I redirect email messages since converting to MobileMe and IMAP Mail.app inserts my email address as the sender, with the originator's name. This never happened before and I can't figure out if I need to change a setting or something, or if this is related somehow to recent software updates.

I just noticed this today on my mail program. When you select a message and then select Redirect from the Message window, the From is listed as being me. The emails have then have the original senders name, but YOUR email address with them.
This is REALLY frustrating for me. I use the Redirect command to forward emails to our bug tracking system so the original person gets the reply from the system so they can then follow the progress.
It also blows, because I can not redirect email to the appropriate person who can then hit "Reply" to respond to the person.
Arggh! Anyone find a way around this? Anyone know of a different email program I can use if this is not fixed?

  • HT4759 How to use mail.app in Leopard to access iCloud mail account

Mail.app stopped downloading new mail from my MobileMe account. I had transferred it all to iCloud as instructed, but since I had seen no instructions on changing anything in Mail.app (I'm running Leopard), I thought things should still just work.
I got the new IMAP server name (imap.mail.me.com) from this site, and pasted it into the account information for the MobileMe account in Mail.app, and saved it. The account still could not connect. I checked the settings and found that Mail.app had changed the server back to mail.mac.com. It has done this several times as I've tried to change the server.
Now what? I'm about ready to look for an XML file to edit.
    Thanks!

Delete the MobileMe account in Mail and follow these setup instructions:
Entering iCloud email settings manually in Snow Leopard or Leopard
These include the server settings linked to above but you may find the illustrations helpful: and you should start by deleting the old account, not trying to amend it. This won't affect the emails on the server.

  • Offline MobileMe account on Mail application

    Hi
I have been a MobileMe customer and mac user for several years. I use my Mail app for multiple email accounts. Yesterday my MobileMe account within Mail app went offline, and seems adamant that it will not return online.
I have tried deleting the MobileMe account in Mail app, restarting and re-creating ... but did not work ... error message appeared at first screen (with name, email, password).
I have a substantial number of folders/emails on the MobileMe server, and have lost access to these too.
My MobileMe account continues to be successfully accessed through me.com and also via my wife's laptop and my ipod touch. Therefore problem seems local to mail app on my imac rather than mobileme account or isp.
    Any guidance most welcomed.
    Ross
    Error message
"There may be a problem with the mail server or network. Verify the settings for account “[email protected]” or try again. The server returned the error: The server “mail.me.com” refused to allow a connection on port 993."

I don't think you can access Netscape via an email client, only through their web-based pages. Possible someone knows a plugin to bypass this, similar to the way Hotmail is accessed from Mail.

  • Disable drafts autosave in Mail.app

I use MobileMe with Mail.app on my MacBook Pro and when I write a new email and then send it I see the same email in my drafts folder (it appears in several minutes after I send it). it's very annoying bug. As I see it — Mail.app autosaves a copy of the email I'm writing to the drafts folder and syncs it to the MobileMe server. Then I send the email, but Mail.app is still in the process of syncing the draft with the server (usually when I email smth huge like photos or videos). That's why, the message (draft) is not deleted from the MobileMe server and when it syncs back I see the draft I sent on my mac again. And I have to delete it manually. Sometimes I get 2 or even 3 drafts of the same message.
The way out is to disable autosave draft function in Mail.app. And to make it work just like on iOS, so that it saves draft if I press "Save draft" or it asks me if I want to save draft when I close the email.
Don't offer to turn off "Save drafts on the server" option in settings, because sometimes I need to continue working on the email from my iPad or iPhone and I need drafts to be synced. But only when I press "Save draft".
    Any ideas?

  • Email's for MobileMe Account stuck in outbox for Mail.app

I upgraded to OS X Lion and have had the usual issues everyone else has had.  I've followed everyone's advice to fix them all, but now I've developed this new one.  I can't send emails anymore from my MobileMe account on my Mac.  The emails get stuck in the outbox and never send.  If I post them to the drafts in the Mail.app, and then go through Safari into the MobileMe Account, I can send the email out without a problem.  Just not from the Mail.app.  Can anyone shed some light on this one?  I'll post any data log you may need, I just don't know where to look for an answer.  Thanks.
    On a 2.4 GHz Intel Core i5 MBP 15", running 10.7, 4GB 1067 MHz DDR3 ram cache.

The new update 10.7.1 resolved the issue and I am now able to send and receive emails from my MBP at home.  Please disregard this entire post series. Problem solved.

  • How can I disable my MobileMe account as sender in the iOS Mail app?

Ever since I logged on to iCloud in OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.0, 10.8.1), I've noticed that in Gmail (using the Mail app for iOS), on my iPhone running iOS 5.1.1, the sender appears to be my MobileMe account (an account I had to use a while back when I first got started using iCloud, but haven't actually used).
Besides flooding my iCloud account mail information with sent mail and the fact that I don't want people associating my email address with the wrong address, it's very annoying that when I choose my regular Gmail address as the sender mail, the next time I send an email, the MobileMe address is the default address yet again.
The problem persists even though I have:
Disabled the iCloud email account (@me.com) in the Mail app in OS X Mountain Lion (the OS in which, by all accounts—no pun intended—it all started).
Disabled iCloud to use and sync Mail.
This is the settings for Gmail in Mountain Lion, in which disabling Mail and the MobileMe account for use, should be the only email address associated with my iCloud account (excepts it obviously isn't as MobileMe is tied to my AppleID for whatever purpose Apple saw fit back in the day):
I saw a thread here discussing the posibility of deleting the iCloud account on the iPhone, powering it off and then, when powered back on, simply signing in again with iCloud. I'm nor sure this is a "solution" as much as a way around something I cannot understand is happening in spite of the changed I have made already.
Surely, someone must be able to tell me what I can do to simply not have my @me.com email address set to the default From address in Mail in iOS. Other than that, I have no real problem with the @me email address being used, at all.
It's just so annyoing when trying to send a quick reply to a colleague or something.
    Please discuss below.

I feel funny replying to myself; I cannot remove this discussion and at any rate, I guess if someone else has this problem, they'll be pleased it has not been deleted.
So, I managed to fix this all on my own. Obviously the difficulty-level is about as low as it gets:
After updating to iOS 6 last night, I was playing around in the settings of my phone, when I came across this, the iCloud for Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calandars > Accounts > iCloud:
All I had to do was to turn Mail off. This leaves the Cc/Bcc, From field empty in my phone's Mail app--just the way I wanted it!

  • Draft emails not deleting after sending via Mail.app

When I compose an email a copy of that get auto saved in the Draft folder and should delete itself once I press send but that is not the case.  After I press send I can see a copy in my Sent folder AND in the Draft folder.  It only seems to happen with some emails that have attachments even with very small file sizes.
Has anyone else had this problem and is there a fix?
Email is my business and I can't have unpredictable behaviour like this.  When I see the same message in my Draft and Sent folders its impossible to tell if it has actually been sent.  I have to follow up with a phone call to verify receipt.  Ridiculous!
    Here are my relevant specs:
    IMAP email service
    OSX 10.6.8
    Mail.app
If you have a fix, thanks in advance.

  • Mail.app keeps multiple copies in Draft and does not delete after send

I have just recently noticed this problem and it seems to be getting worse. I am on Mountain Lion 10.8.1 and I'm using an exchange server (2010) email account.
I do not recall this problem being this bad in Lion.  When I save a draft go back into it, make changes, it saves a bunch of copies. I just deleted about 30 emails from one draft.
The 2nd issue is it does not leave the draft folder when I actually send, so it appears I never sent it, but I did. This is extremely frustrating and not efficient.  I use Mail for my business email and all my personal emails as well, but mainly business.
I don't like Outlook for Mac (too slow), and I really don't like Mail for Mac either since my contacts and calendar are all in different apps.
Does anyone have a solution for the DRAFTS folder issues and/or can you recommend another e-mail client that is better. Outlook 2011 for Mac is just too slow, the beach ball is always showing when I try to use Outlook.  And I really prefer not to have to go back to Windows Outlook through Parallels. I can manage with Mail.app if I could resolve this Drafts issue.  I save emails all day long so to double check each one to see if I actually sent it is too time consuming.
I'm running on a Macbook Pro, 2.2 Ghz Intel Core i7, 8 GB memory.
    Thanks in advance.

I am too having the same issue. While working on Snow Leopard Mail app was working fine, bue te moment I upgraded to Lion OS, I began to see some mail laying around my draft folder. I thought they never left, but make a few call I found everyone was receiving my email, but for some strage reason, a copy stayed in drafts. I submitted this bug to Apple, and they actually told me they were aware of this issue and they were working on that. A year went by and we received Mountalion OS, and my iMac with Lion OS still has this issue. They never solved that. Now I am with this new iMac at home and and I am fighting myself not to use Mail app because, as far as I can see, the problme persist on Mountain Lion. So now, at this very moment I will give a try to PostBox (http://www.postbox-inc.com/)
My bussiness mail is mounted on Google apps, so I hope this works

    Stuff like Software Update works.
