MobileMe e-mail, iCloud, and AppleID issues.

When I migrated my MobileMe account to iCloud, it turned into it's own AppleID for some reason.  As a result of this I cannot associate my MobileMe e-mail address with my current AppleID for iCloud e-mail to work.  I know I could use two iCloud accounts on my iPhone but this is not ideal in the slightest.  When I attempt to setup iCloud mail on my phone under the iCloud options it will not allow me to add my existing MobileMe e-mail address, the only option is the create a new one and I'd be much happier using my old one.
I hope someone from the community has the answer to this.  I intend to purchase an iPhone 4S in a few days which will come with 90 day complimentary support so I may indeed have to end up on the phone with Apple, although I hope this is not the case.
Many thanks,
Alex

Any chance you can point me in the right direction as I can't seem to find it on Apples website. Do I need the support package for this? If so I guess I'll have to wait until I buy the iPhone4s.

  • I changed my e-mail address and AppleID and now having problems!

I changed my e-mail address and AppleID the other night but the Apple website didn't recognise either account as an appleID.  I called the helpdesk and they can't see them on their system either.  I'm thinking that I may have spelt my new address wrongly.   I've now created a new appleID with my new e-mail address but I want to get my old iTune purchases back!  The guy on the helpdesk told me to e-mail iTunes support but I can't find that option on the website.  Can anyone give me an e-mail address or suggest a solution?!  PLEASE?! Thanks in advance for your help!

All items that you download from the store will be tied to the account that you downloaded them with, so you will need to get access to you old account to be able to re-access that account's downloaded - they can't be transferred to a different account. How did you update your account id e.g. via http://appleid.apple.com or on your computer's iTunes ? If on your computer's iTunes then does the new id show in the Store > View Account menu option, or if you select one of the downloaded items in your iTunes library and do 'get-info' (control-I) does the new id show on the item's Summary tab ?
If not then you could try this page to see if you can get access to it : http://iforgot.apple.com
Or you can try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

  • ICloud and Calendar issue

I recently turned on my iCloud and now my calendar no longer contains events past the last month. How can I view those events again?

Go into Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars and scroll down to Calendars. Tap Sync and select the desired sync duration.
Be aware that syncing a large number of events may cause performance issues.

  • Mail.app and Exchange issue

Hello. I have 7 exchange accounts (45,000 letters in them) in my mail.app and every day i have a problem that mail.app delete all messages and start downloading it form server. Can any one help me with this problem.
p.s. on the other macbook i have 1 exchage account with 18.000 messages and it works fine.
Is this problem because to many exchange accounts or to many messages or because i use VPN for take mail from this accounts? Help me please.

I can't even get the Exchange Mailbox to appear in Mail.app. The same account works for Calendar and Reminders (Tasks). Configuring as an "Other" type account also does not work. Instead I end up with an IMAP style account that can't be deleted from mail.app.

  • Mail quota and server issue

I keep getting one of two messages all of a sudden.
    Connection Failed
There maybe a problem with the mail server or network. Check the settings for account "*%[email protected]" or try again.
The server error encountered was: The connection to the server "mail.mac.com" on port 993 timed out.
Or I get a message saying that I am at 99% of mail quota. What do either of these mean?

I was aware that you have a .Mac account based on the information you provided in your original post.
My question was/is, how are you accessing your .Mac account with the Mail application on your Mac - the account type - .Mac, IMAP or POP?
The default account type for a .Mac account with the Mail application is a .Mac type account which is really an IMAP account and behaves in the same way.
You can access a .Mac account as a .Mac type, IMAP or POP account with the Mail application and as an IMAP or POP account with another email client such as the Mail application on your Mac or on a Windows PC.
Very few (no others that I'm aware of) email account providers include/support such a choice of account types. The majority support a single account type - IMAP or POP with POP being the most common.
With a POP account, you have the option to remove messages from the server when downloaded by an email client such as the Mail application. There is no such option when accessing an IMAP account with an email client such as Mail. A .Mac type account or IMAP account received messages remain on the server until deleted from the account's Inbox mailbox or moved from the account's Inbox mailbox to a mailbox stored locally on your hard drive. Transferring a message from a server stored mailbox to a user created "On My Mac" location mailbox with Mail (which is stored locally on your hard drive) saves the transferred message locally on your hard drive and removes the message from the server at the same time.
The same doesn't apply to a POP account which is the reason for my question regarding the account type.
Go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts and under the Account Information tab for your .Mac account preferences will show the account type at the top.
You can raise the amount of server storage space allocated for email messages or remove messages from the server to get rid if the error message and back under your server storage limit.

  • Mail, iCloud and me - Help!!

    Okay - I am having a nightmare.
    Here's the situation:
    1. I have a MacBook Air, & macBook Pro which have now been updated to IOS5.
    2. iCloud also activated and a transition from my me.com accounts has been attempted
    3. I have 2 me.com email addresses (both account types: iCloud IMPAP), 1 gmail account (type: Google IMAP) and 1 other work email account (type POP).
    4. I use Apple Mail.  I therefore have 4 accounts set up in Mail - me1 account, me2 account, gmail and work.
    Here's the problem.
    1. Since the upgrade and activation of iCloud I could no longer get emails from any of my email accounts through Mail.
    2. However I can login to iCloud via the web using my macId (which is none of the above emails), and send emails successfully to and from this portal.
    3. But in Mail, I cannot receive emails from me1, me2 or work accounts but i can receive from my Google account but NOT send them...
    4. The macBook Pro works okay however, it is the macBook Air which does not but the settings seem identical...
    the settings:
    1. work email settings are as they should and are a POP account (authentication password, ssl port 993)
    2. me emails are registered as iCloub IMAP (authentication Apple Token. ssl port 993)
    3. gmail account which works is (Google IMAP authentication password, ssl port 993)
    4. my appleId is a [email protected] address one...
Any help would be much appreciated as i don't know what the issue is
    thanks
    Tom

    Hi
I tried that but no joy...
    still not working!
i'm at a loss as to what to do

  • Mac, Me, iCloud and AppleIDs (i.e., total mess)

I have an old Mac.com email address. I upgraded to MobileMe but consistently used Mac.com (because I liked it better) and let it automatically switch to me.com in the background. I use that Mac email as my AppleID for everything (iTunes, iCloud, etc.), as well as my primary email address. I'm getting married and changing my name in a month. I would LOVE to keep my Mac.com (or at the least a me.com) email with an updated name as my AppleID instead of using my updated Gmail address. Since I already have iCloud set up with my old Mac.com email, I cannot see how to create a new me.com address with my new name (which I believe is now my only option if I want to change it). Is there any way to do this?
Long story short, am I wasting my time even trying a circuitous route? Would creating and applying a new me.com address as my AppleID foul up my iTunes account? Is it more hassle than it's worth? Should I keep the original Mac.com and simply create an alias?
It's so frustrating that Apple has not made this easy. I never thought this would be the hardest part of the name-change process.

Join the club! Same problem here.
There are a bunch of other threads on this in the icloud.com forum. The common theme seems to be everyone has an Apple ID that ends in @mac.com.

  • Default mail app and gmail issues

Hi, I recently got fed up with Google denying us the possibility to switch off the dreaded conversation view.  So - I switched to using the default Sony email app connected to my gmail account.  Two issues:
When I delete a mail after reading it will often (not always) reappear in the inbox later.  Gmail has two options for what will happen when deleting messages, both produce the same error.  Didn't happen with the gmail app.
Scrolling when reading a mail is horribly slow.
    Anyone have any tips?

The Gmail app is a direct link to Gmail so deleting from the Gmail app will delete said email however from the default email app that is simply put a forwarding address so the email will not be deleted - It may be deleted or made exempt from future sync'ing but you often find that if the email hasn't fully loaded then it will be seen as unread and will reappear

  • Ios 8 mail app and music issues

AFter installing ios8 my mail app has practically stopped working. The mails are just not opening.  I have to go to safari to hotmail instead. Then i uploaded a lot of music last night and realised this morning not all songs synced. And i tried to add them today but it wont let me!! Really annoyed. Updated to ios 8.0.2 this morning and nothing has changed or improved. So annoyed now . Apple when will these issues be sorted??

Oh, I had the same problem with the music. I had told it to sync all of my music, but it didn't.
To solve this, I went to the "Music" tabs, unticked "Sync Music", then apply it (yes, this will delete the music off the iPhone). Then (even though it looks like the music is still there),  Then tick the "Sync Music" and apply that, and it should sync the music

  • Belatedly upgraded to iTunes 11; iCloud and syncing issues with iPod

There are now a bunch of tracks in my library listed as iCloud tracks; confusingly, some are duplicates of other tracks, and some are not. Also, with no other change than the iTunes upgrade, it's telling me that I'm way over the limit and can't sync my library to my iPod. I'm sure this is simple but I can't figure it out. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

    diesel vdub, i use 11.1.1
solved the issue today. first sync with itunes, so all the stiff you bought on the mobile will be backuped.
    1. uncheck sync music in itunes and sync. all the music will be erased from mobile device
    2. check music player on the mobile device. just the unwanted songs will still be there
    3. go on the iphone to settings, general, usage, music player. there is just a few mb from the remaining unwanted songs. swipeleft and erase the content. switch iphone off and on again
    4. repeat step 2. there will be no data. otherwise repeat step 3
    5. check sync music in itunes and sync. all the music will be back again but not the unwanted songs.

  • ICloud and Syncing Issues (Couldn't find in other threads)

I have been reading through a ton of threads asking similar questions, but have not found one exactly like mine so I am hoping for some insight here. First off we have an iMac, 2 macbooks, two iPhones, an iPod Touch, and several other iPods too. We have switched to iCloud.
In my family we have a joint account and two individual accounts.  I use my individual account for everything (iTunes, Cals, Contacts,...) and my husband has a .yahoo.com account he uses for iTunes and then he uses his individual account for everything else (Cals, Contacts,...).  Several things we want to accomplish and have been trying to without total luck:
1: Enjoy the same music, apps, tv shows... on ONE iTunes account, BUT be able to sync our iPhones & iPods to our own tastes
    2. We want to share an address book over all of our accounts. How can we make them all the same? I don't think I can sync different things to different accounts like contacts using joint email and then email using individual account IDs and iTunes with yet another? So CONFUSING!
    3. I also use a PC (blah) at work and use Outlook for email, calendar and contacts. I would like to import a "work" contact list into the address book that my husand doesn't have to look at since it ill mean nothing to him.
    4. I use google calendar and would like to have it sync to iCal and Outlook without creating a million duplicate events.
We have different IDs, which I have learned that we will not be able to merge IDs due to big music companies, but we want some fluidity between our accounts which is good for them, but bad for families.
Anyway I know this is a lot of questons, but I am hoping for some insight.
Also I thought iTunes matches was supposed to release at the end of October????

Hi, here is how to remove it by yourself...
    http://goo.gl/J7R6A
Script that I create which, will help you remove it ..... (Let me know using the contact at that site.)
    http://goo.gl/rGV62
    What is does.
Depending on the version it just creates a bunch of random fake notification and claims your infected. If you keep getting it then most likely you have Allow popups and "Open Safe files" in safari on. The only damage is if you give the criminals that created it your Credit Card.
It is changing so it depend on the version but these two links should help.

  • Mail Receiver and Attachment Issue - how to get an attachment into the body

I have an abap proxy that sends a simple message to XI with a pdf attachment. XI maps the xml message to the Mail Adapters Mail Package format.
To have the email sent with the PDF attachment I must click the "keep attachments" option. However this also has the side-effect of making the message payload an attachment as well (seems silly?). Therefore I get an email with two attachments: one is the PDF and the other is the plain text that should be in the email body.
The question is: How do I get that plain text attachment back into the Message Body ? I have tried all combinations of the MessageTranformBean and the PayloadSwapBean with no luck.
I can easily change the names of the attachments with the MessageTransformBean but if I set the text attachment to Transform.ContentDisposition inline, it still just comes out as an attachment. And, if I use the payloadswapbean the adapter log says it corectly swapped the right payload however the email still comes out with the text as an attachment!!
Any ideas on how I can do this? Is it a bug in the module beans?
(I'm using MS Outlook as the email client.)
Maybe I need to write my own module bean to do this... If I set keep attachments to OFF, can I still set the PDF attachment with my own modules (the reason I ask this is that with keep-attachment OFF, the message body correctly has the text in it...

  • Mail 3 and gmail issues, notes/todo's in Mail

    Hello,
I use Mail 3 with my google mail account using IMAP.
I'd like to use the new notes/todo function provided by Mail. When I create a new note, it will be reset to the default values after a minute or two.
And it doesn't appear in my iCal calender(s) at any time.
I've tried both provided ways to store the notes: as mail on the server and as a local one. The problem is always the same.
When I delete the "notes mail" from my gmail account using the web interface, Mail 3 hangs when I terminate it. Removing the note using Mail 3 solved this.
But has anyone here an idea how I can use the notes feature with my gmail account (IMAP)? And is it possible to see my reminders in the calender?
    Thank's for every good idea,
    Felix

  • 24.5.0 - deleted mail account and have issues with a spurious New Folder

    Hi
I have been messing around with my Thunderbird data, so this problem is of my own making I think.
I deleted an email account using my provider setup area. This was an email account I had set up at the start when joining this provider and contained only test messages etc. and so was of no further use.
I had set up this email address in Thunderbird and after deleting the account with my provider I then removed the account in Thunderbird. All seemed to be OK.
Now, to confuse matters. I had previously set up a list of folders under Local Folders for filtered email in Thunderbird - I now moved them up into my main account by click/drag/drop onto the account name. Although this took a very long time (and unexpectedly used an enormous amount of bandwidth), the operation finally seemed to finish (although that was really hard to determine until I finally found the Activity Monitor).
Now, for the point of this posting:
After all of the above, I discovered that a spurious folder had been created under the INBOX of my main account, called 'New%20Folder=0' which I read as New Folder-0. I don't know at what point in the above that this folder appeared, but I *think* I must have dragged/dropped one of my folder moves on the INBOX instead of the account name field.
Now, dear readers, if you have got thus far, the crux of my problem. I can not delete this folder, when I try, I get the message
The current operation on 'New%20folder-0' did not succeed. The mail server for account ******* responded folder does not exist.
I have tried a whole bunch of things, altering settings in its Properties etc but nothing lets me delete it.
Question is: how can I delete it?

    I would:
    a) check on the email provider's website to check if it had copied there, and deal with it. Your mention of bandwidth implies this is an IMAP-connected account.
    b) close Thunderbird, open its [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-tb?esab=a&s=profiles&r=1&as=s profile] and delete the offending folder there. You need to browse your profile for a while to understand its structure before doing anything rash.
On the whole, I discourage users from dragging folders about as you have done. By all means drag the ''contents'' (better yet, use multi-select, then right-click and "copy to" or "move to") but moving ''folders'' is IMHO an undefined operation with unpredictable outcomes. I've heard of users moving a folder from one account to another and finding that it still associates with (i.e. "belongs to") the original account.

  • Icloud and id issues

My son uses my id on his ipad and mac book air and I want to take him off my icloud but don't know how as he is getting all of my messages from my iphone 5c.  His email also comes up on my user info when a message is sent rather my id.  Any tips on how I separate them?  Thanks

Well the best way to change Apple ID  is give support  a call  and answer the secure questions over the phone. It seems doing it on line sometimes  just doesn't work out. Your new Apple ID should work for everything this forum,  iTunes, App Store etc. If it isn't you have more then one working Apple ID most likely. I've been there. Support can't straight it out if you tried everything on line. Do you want more then one Apple ID. I am not sure by your question. Sometimes we make more then one account and that is the source of the problem. Support can trace everything and straighten it out.
