MobileMe iDisk App: Icon Bug

The MobileMe iDisk application appears to work as advertised but the icon on my iPhone is the one for an app called ShoppingList. I have reset my iPhone twice and deleted and re-installed the app twice, as well as deleting it from my iMac and downloading it again from iTunes (Store UK) but the icon still changes on the iPhone. On my iMac, the icon is as should be.
So I now have two different apps with the same icon on my iPhone. Anyone else experiencing this bug? This hasn't happened to any other app I've purchased on either of my iPhones.
This is on my iPhone 3G S.

iTunes Store Support got back to me today and this is what the kind folks suggested:
+I see that your in app purchase is not working as expected. I understand how frustrating this must be. I can certainly appreciate how eager you must be to resolve this issue. The developer of this application, Apple Inc, is the best resource for assistance with this issue. To contact them, please visit:+

+The article below may also be helpful; I found it for you on the Apple website:+
+Troubleshooting applications purchased from the App Store+

I appreciate their help, but do they appreciate the irony of directing me to Apple Inc.?
Anyway, I've already tried the troubleshooting suggestions but to no avail.
I'll wait for the bug to be fixed with an update.

  • What file versions are supported by Idisk App for downloading to my iPad.

When trying to view my iDisk file on my iPad, I keep getting the message that they are unsupported or an error occurred in downloading. What's up with that?

  • IDisk icon on my iPad, is there an iCloud app/icon?

iDisk icon on my iPad, is there an iCloud app/icon? How do I copy files from iDisk to iCloud?

iCloud cannot be used to store my files?
It can store files, but only from within iCloud compatible apps currently. When Mac OS X Mountain Lion comes along this summer, you'll be able to save documents directly to your iCloud space from with Mac applications, which will then be available on other devices.
Why is Apple trying to sell me more storage space on iCloud if I can't store files there?
They're not trying to sell you more storage. It is there as an option only if you want it.
Is iCloud just an information exchange service between devices?
That's its main purpose at the moment, yes.
As I already mentioned above, iCloud also backs up your iOS devices (which each one can potentially be a few gigabytes in size), you can create Photo Journals in iPhoto for iOS, it also stores your @me.com email (which again can be hundreds of megabytes), and as time goes by, more and more third-party and Apple developed apps will use it as cloud-based storage for a huge variety of purposes.

  • Mail & Exchange Server - app icon says there's unread mail, but there isn't

    Hi folks,
I upgraded to Snow Leopard a while ago and dragged along my hosted Exchange account (myhostedsolution.com) which I used to access via my iPhone & Entourage. With 10.6 I naturally switched over to Mail.app.
Now sometimes I get this odd bug: The Mail.App icon in the docks says there's one unread message (indicated by a red circle and the number one in it) however there is no new email in any of my folders. I checked everything Spam, Trash...
    - I have no rules or smart folders set up
    - my iPhone correctly states that there's no new mail on that account
My life may not depend on it but it's just one huge annoyance..
    Help anyone?
    S.

I can corroborate this. Fully updated snow leopard, with an Exchange 2007 account. Office and home machines configured alike. After a day at work, receiving, reading, deleting mail, and leaving no unread messages in the inbox, the home machine shows unread messages next to the Exchange inbox, and on its dock icon, but there are no unread messages in the inbox. Quitting and relaunching mail causes it to show no unread messages.
As the previous poster noted, this is a real annoyance.

  • Gnome-shell not showing app icons

I own a Sony Vaio Z laptop equipped with a common intel video card and an external Radeon HD 7000 graphics card (literally external, connected through thunderbolt/lightpeak).
The problem is that whenever I connect the external video card (which by the way works just fine using the opensource ati driver), gnome-shell fails to paint most of my app icons and other possibly related problems appear:
        (1) as I said, no icons for some of the apps (see this screenshot); if i restart gnome-shell (using Alt+F2, r) the icons show up but just for the next couple of minutes. Only the icons that are painted by gnome-shell seem to be problematic (these include the dash, the apps list and sometimes the status menu icons). No useful output messages are printed by gnome-shell if running from a terminal. No extensions are enabled at all. This also happens with the default icon set.
        (2) gnome-screenshot timeouts after ~20 seconds saying "** Message: Unable to use GNOME Shell's builtin screenshot interface, resorting to fallback X11". ltrace says that a call to g_dbus_connection_call_sync blocks the process.
        (3) scrolling in chromium using the mouse is sometimes laggy, but this may be due to issues in the radeon driver.
None of these problems appear when the external card is not connected. I know this may be an upstream bug but I'd like to see first if the Arch community has any idea about this. I am really willing to debug this issue and spend as much time as needed on it, but I don't know where to start from.

It appears that all the 10 threads of the GTask thread pool are fully occupied most of the time. Therefore all the glib async requests are blocked for a while until the active tasks somehow finish (or timeout). I have no idea though how to find out what are those 10 threads occupied with.

  • The problem that app icons have a low resolution in Launchpad Screen

    Here is a screenshot.
In Macbook pro with retina display, app icon often have a low resolution in Launchpad screen.
If the app install again after restarting the mac, the app icon in launchpad screen has normal resolution.
Do anyone know how to resove this problem?

Had this problem from time to time, at random, with Lion. After Mountain Lion it is a lot worse... many icons, non only personalized but also system icons, look blurry and pixelated...
I have done EVERYTHING I read on the many threads about this issue here at apple, as well as on other sites, but nothing helped... (removed thumbnails.data, delete caches, deleter .DS_store files, finder preferences, etc. etc. etc.).
This happens on both my macs, an iMac 2011 and a MacBookPro 2010...
How is it possible to have this BUG since the last 3 version of the OS, with Apple not solving the problem but rather getting worse?

  • Grey App Icon Appears.  Reboot and apps appear on different screens

I've noticed a strange thing happening on my home screen.  Sometimes, and it seems when apps are automatically being updated, a gray app icon with a circle and an 'x' appears on my home screen.  It will not go away and you cannot select it.
My home screen consists of 14 app icons, the rest of the screen is empty.  I do this to declutter my home screen.
When I reboot my phone, the grey icon is gone, but it fills up my home screen with other app icons from a different page.  When I move them back over to the second page so that only 14 apps appear again and the rest is empty space, I reboot my phone again, and it fills up the home page with more apps (different ones).
Is anybody else experiencing this issue?  I tried to take a screen print of the grey icon to post here on my iphone, but when I looked at the photo, it wasn't there (very strange).
What does this grey app icon represent?
Is this a bug in the software?

  • App Store bug?

Some app icons in my App Store are appearing with a black background/border instead of transparency. My OS X version is 10.9.4. I tried to restart, used CleanMyMac 2, but the bugs are still there. I checked some of my friend's macs, they are using 10.9.4 version too and aren't having this trouble. Is there something I can do?

Are your friends using CleanMyMac?  The problems you are seeing are most likely from that software...it is very bad and should be removed.

Close all open apps by double-tapping the home button, then swiping up and off the screen with the app window (not the smaller icon).
Reset your device: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss)

  • Updated to IOS 5 and app icons are missing

I upgraded last night and now some of my app icons are missing. If I do a spotlight search and find the app I can then launch the app from there but I would like to have the icon back to use rather than a workaround.

After the IOIS 5.0 update my apps weren't showing on my device until I tabbed thru several screens on the phone. The only other issue was when I did a "restore" to new , not from backup because I was issues with the update (Bugs) Did a update and my apps didn't show until I did a " File" ................Transfer Purchases from Iphone.....with the device connected to ITunes...........then  Sync................ • App Builder error with app icons

    never seen this error before…
all the icon names are unique, I've always named then 29x29.png 512x512.png etc
I'm also only building this for iPad, so also confused about the iPhone ref. Anyone seen this error before??
    Cheers

Custom slot labels are the optional navigation buttons (such as "Store," "FAQ," etc.) that enterprise publishers can add to their apps. It's not related to the standard app icons.
Are you building an app using an Enterprise account? If not, there's a bug we'll need to look at. If so, check the Customized XML Strings (?) option in the advanced settings of the App Details pane. Delete or re-create the XML file.

  • Large app icon submission not working

I've been trying to update my app with recent code that fixed a bunch of bugs, but I'm currently stuck on this large app icon submission. I'm honestly using the same picture (1024x1024) as I used in my first submission of my app and now it just refuses to upload my picture. I tried using png, jpeg, jpg, tif, etc., and none of them work! Can anyone help me out here? I'm really trying to get this code pushed for the update. Cheers!

  • Mission Control Only Showing App Icons, NOT Windows

I just purchased a new MacBook Pro Retina and am noticing a bug with Mission Control.  When I go to Mission Control to see all of the different windows I have open, it's showing just the app icons, NOT the actual app windows.  This occurs sporadically; sometimes it works properly, and sometimes it doesn't.  I actually realzied the same issue on my MacBook Pro (2009) after upgrading to Mountain Lion a few weeks ago, therefore it seems to be an OS issue and not a HW issue.
Here is a screen shot of what I see when Mission Control is not working properly:
Instead of those icons, it should be showing the actually windows within those apps that I have open.
    Any ideas?

I have this problem too and would love a solution...when it happens to me it only seems to be on one of my spaces, if I use gestures to get to another space Mission Control" works fine on a different space, but if I go back to the original space it stops working..I have found a fix, which is just move the active window slightly, yep, that actually works, and then Mission Control starts working again...it's weird...would still love to know what causes it, even though the fix is an easy one...
Just on the safari comments above, I have noticed this happens when one of the tab has "reader" activated...turning of 'reader' seems to fix the issue with safari...

  • Strange app icon appearance in library

    Hey there,
I noticed a strange difference between the appearance of the app icons in my library (1st screenshot) and on the iTunes store (2nd screenshot). Can somebody else duplicate this issue. Any ideas to solve this?
    Thanks a lot in advance!

Yes, this is a glitch in which some of my friends have been having lately With the iOS 8 update. I believe there is no solution to this at them time, but I am sure that Apple will release an update soon with millions of bug fixes.
Does the Application still function correctly though?
