MOBILEME PROBLEM

HOW DO I GET RID OF MOBLEME AND START USING MY OUTLOOK WITHOUT A 2 MINUTE DELAY AND MULTIPLE "CLOSE PROGRAM CLICKS"?

Assuming you are not syncing calendar events direct with Outlook also via the iTunes sync process, confirm your calendar events are not listed multiple times with your MobileMe online calendar via webmail access using a browser on your computer. If correct there, on your iPhone go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Select your MobileMe account. Turn Calendars off for over the air syncing. A warning message will be provided indicating this will remove all calendar events from your iPhone being synced over the air with your MobileMe online calendar along with a prompt to save the events locally on your iPhone. Decline the prompt to save the events locally on your iPhone. This should remove all calendar events from your iPhone. Follow this by turning Calendars back on for over the air syncing.

  • IWeb, mobileme, problems

I tried to upload some photos to my iWeb site last night and a message comes up and says to sign in to Mobileme, however, when I try that another message says Mobileme has been disabled.  I have moved to iCloud, but I am not sure how to apply that to my iWeb account.
    suggestions?

Now that MobileMe has shut down you will need to find a 3rd party web host to upload your website to. Depending on the version of iWeb you are using you have a couple of publishing options:
iWeb '09 (3.0.4) you can publish to an FTP Server or a local folder
iWeb '08 you can publish your website to a local folder
I have been using IX Webhosting for several years with little to no problems "usually the problem was something I did" and they have been quick to solve any issue I have come across. The have plans that start at $3.95 a mo (USD) and their customer service is top notch.

  • IWeb Update - Publishing to MobileMe Problem

After running the 3.0.2 update I tested the app and all was well - or so I thought!
I don't use MobileMe much and decided to test the claim that it "resolves some issues related to publishing sites to MobileMe". Well, of course, publishing to MobileMe wouldn't work.
I resolved this by quitting, deleting the plist - Home Folder/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iWeb.plist. - relaunching and resetting the preferences. I also logged out and back in to MobileMe for good measure.
I never had any problem with uploading to MobileMe before this update. I wasn't even going to bother installing it because I never use the blog or podcast. I only installed it because I saw that another user had problems with iWeb not launching properly after running the update and thought I would see if I could replicate it.
Maybe one day we will get an iWeb update that actually works as advertised and contains something useful?

After I went through the steps mentioned above the published site had a few items missing in the header.
I published to a local folder to test it and this was OK. Then I re uploaded to MobileMe and this version worked.
I only use MobileMe for test sites so this glitch is not a disaster to me.
It would be worth while creating a small test site to troubleshoot this issue rather than using your main site.
I don't use the blog or podcast so I have no idea if there are any problems in that area.

  • MobileMe problems! "Error occurred while publishing file..."

Is anyone else getting an "error occurred while publishing file" message when they try to publish their iWeb sites to MobileMe? This happens all the time. As a result, all my red icons in the iWeb window remain red.
I have tried renaming one of the site folders in MobileMe to see if that would eliminate the problem -- the program would think it was putting a new site on the Internet, instead of updating an existing one. That didn't work.
If anyone has any advice, I'd be grateful.

Me too. I went to the Apple store today as I have tried everything. Everything was fine until I updated to iLife 09. The advice I was given was to delete the site from my iDisk and then republish the whole thing - so as to start from fresh - but guess what?- same problem.
    I got this error message.
    Publish Error
An error occurred while publishing file “/private/var/folders/ia/iabx77EFHCGu5JUdA-gS+++TI/TemporaryItems/com.apple.iWeb403_TEMP_255806071_2/sites/SukiHutchinson/Media/10 Left Bank Two - Theme From Vision On-1.mp3”. Try publishing again later.
Any help would be appreciated - the mp3 file was fine before and it is not a DRM.
    Thanks

  • Lion server - mobileme problem

this is a little bit confused.
since i installed the server and clicked on the push notifications from apple (i think) i can´t send mails from my imac (imac is the server) receiving is no problem.
i read all the problems with mobileme on the community and tested all out, nothing work. (delete account, delete prefs, set all the same like on my mba...)
when i sent a mail (mobilme) then for a second or so appears a notification from mail. i catched it with screen shot. it says:
mail tries to certificate my mail and it fails, and it should be a certificate and a key in the keychain.
wired is that the tlf certificate in the mobileme account is off. i tried also put it on and select each other, but nothing works.
    i don´t know about certificate...
    p.s. little snitch is ok

    Thanks, however when I tried
    sudo -s launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/ftp.plist
    it gives me
bind (): Address already in use
    com.apple.ftpd: Already loaded
but i still can't get ftp to work

So how i can stop mobileme gallery auto rotate my pics from ipodtouch

Tried a reset? (Press and hold home and sleep/wake buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slide to power off prompt.)
Else, try a Restore in iTunes.

    Google translation :
"I have a site that was associated with mobileme and made in iweb as I am now trying to publish via FTP (still via iweb), but even if it seems to work, it's still Apple's' mobileme ice closed'-bitter"
Go where you manage your domainname and delete the CNAME record or if you use URL forwarding, the setting that does so.
In general, remove all links that point to MMe.
In other words : remember what you did in the past to point to MobileMe. Now reverse that process.
    iWeb is not involved.

  • Syncing or Pushing iCal to and from MobileMe problem

I want all my iCal subscriptions to sync or push to my MobileMe so i can get them on my iPhone.
I want my MacBook iCal to match my iPhone Calendar, is there any way this is possible?

    Rob,
As far as I know subscribed calendars do not/are not syncing to MobileMe, and the procedure that I described is currently the only way that I know of to get around that limitation.
You obviously have subscribed calendars that are updated often, and in that case as I implied in my previous post, my suggestion would not be a satisfactory answer. Apple must make that necessary capability a reality. I too would be interested in that ultimate solution.
I can't remember exactly where I found the wings, but I did use Google to find a suitable image.
    Good luck.

  • Problems with iWeb publishing to MobileMe

    Hi,
Did you have some problems since about four days on publishing with iWeb to MobileMe? In my case, when I publish my site - and I made just little changes - iWeb publish ALL the pages.
I early had this same problem, this spring, and it was a MobileMe problem; Apple just made a little update to the server and it was ok.
    I'm using iWeb'09
    Thanks

With a lot of media content have you considered other ways of adding movies or audio tracks that only require you uploading those file manually once and then linking to them. For movies this demo page has one possible method: Opening Item in a New, Precisely Sized Window. This demo page has 7 movies added that way. They don't load until the play button is selected. PhotoPresenter Animated Slideshow Themes
For audio you can use flash players or a flash jutebox. Roddy's site, iWeb for Musicians, has examples and how-to's for both. See the following pages: Music Players and the following 3 pages after it. See the Next Page button at the bottom.
I've got a couple of flash players on my demo page: Music Players.
There are many alternatives to having to load all the media each time you republish.

  • Publish calendar to mobileme no longer works

I've been publishing a calendar in iCal to mobileme for several years. After upgrading to Snow Leopard, I noticed that the publishing was not working (the icon next to the calendar in iCal indicated an error). So I unpublished and republished. I was told it was successful and give me that window with a button to view the published calendar. When I do that, Safari goes to the site but prints a message, telling me "We're sorry but we cannot find the iCal you've requested. It's possible that it has been deleted or renamed."
I cut and paste the address into Safari - the URL that I was provided after a successful publish, and again got the same error. I've unpublished several times and republished, always successfully - so I was informed when the calendar was sent. But I always get the same error reported.
I've gone to my mobileme via browser to check my iDisk and other features - they all work. My iCal is even correct when viewed. It's just the published calendar that can't be accessed.
Anyone know what's going on or have a suggestion.
    Thanks.
Well, I tried another search and have found a thread where users indicate the same problem. This seems to be a mobileme problem that I guess I'll have to wait until it is fixed.

Yep, same problem. Won't show up via browser and the embedded calendar won't display in iWeb. I've changed the calendar name, exported and imported (removing unsafe alarms), shortened the calendar name as to exclude any numerical or punctuation including spaces and nada. Next step is to friggin create a new calendar from scratch and re-enter all the dates/info...but I'd still like to know what the heck is going on.
Anybody have any other success besides creating a new calendar?
PS - Confirmed that establishing a new calendar clears up the problem. The fun of data entry for all those appointments...

  • No MobileMe Calendars

Suddenly, regardless of which MobileMe account in Preferences/Mail,Contacts,Calendar I choose so sync to my iPod Touch the Calendars to do not appear. Addresses and Mail seem to work fine. I am using iCal beta, but found that my Exchange account calendar also disappeared, but that one returned when I tickled the account info. I've reset the device with the two-button 10-second hold, but have not tried Restore yet. Is this a general problem now?, a MobileMe problem?

    Hello Paul,
looks like we are experiencing the very same problem: I have an iPhone 3GS and an iPod touch (1st generation). MobileMe synching works fine with bookmarks, contacts and mail but no calendars appear on my iPod touch
Calendars show up on both, my iPhone and the MobileMe website, so there's obviously a problem getting the data from the me.com server to my iPod. By the way, things worked fine before I switched to the new MobileMe calendar, so I suspect there's a connection.
I already tried several times to deactivate and reactivate the calendars in my iPod's settings but that didn't make any difference. What I last tried was to do a total reset of the iPod touch - the sort that takes two hours and gets rid of everything. Then I set up MobileMe from scratch on the empty device and again everything syncs alright except for calendars.
This is rather annoying and I hope somebody - preferably Apple - comes up with a solution to this calendar sync bug.
PS: I also have a little problem with calendars on my iPhone. I got a birthday calendar of my own - that is, not the one automatically created by iCal / MobileMe - and it does sync to my phone but only a few entries show up on my iPhone calendar. All entries are present in the web-based calendar module though. Very strange! At least in this case I can switch to Apple's birthday calendar (unfortunately losing alarms as reminders are not supported in the that automatic calendar).

  • MobileMe Sharing Key Commands?

    Hi,
I have a Mac Pro and newly purchased 17" MBP which is my remote editing suite. I have some useful customized keyboard shortcuts which I told my Mac Pro's Logic Studio to backup/sync on Mobile Me.
After trying various ways of getting these key commands the new laptop (including what I thought would be the obvious "export key commands" option in Logic) I've yet to successfully copy my key commands over, and when I tried to sync my MBP's commands in the preferences (thinking I could "restore" from the backup I'd made on my MPro, Logic said it could only do this by taking ownership of the commands from the Mac Pro, which I said yes to, and it still didn't do it!!
Is this a "its supposed to work but doesn't due to issues with MobileMe" problem (As it seems a brilliantly simply idea) or am I missing some elephant-in-the-room trick here?
    Thanks!
    Ben

  • Changed host from Webhost4life to MobileMe = No website found now!

    Need help.
I pay for mobile me every year, so I wanted to save some $ and ditch my previous host "webhost4life" and so I went through the process of switching all the DNS Control stuff (via the tutorial on Lynda.com) on my godaddy domain site, and then set it all up via mobile me too. Everything is a "go" on the GoDaddy side, but now when I publish my site using iweb09, and type in my url, the browser says: "cannot find page" -> what the heck? This is happening wherever I try it: At work, home, iphone, etc...
So, I will call apple support tomorrow (closed now), but does anyone know if this is a mobileme problem? or an iweb09 problem? All my pages in iweb are blue, so I know I don't have the "red pages" issue.
Any help would be great. Thank you!

iWeb should overwrite old files with new so there's not much maintenance required. You would go to Finder/Go/iDisk/My iDisk/Web/Sites to delete a whole site if it was built on a separate domain file.
Your main reason for going to the Web/SItes folder would be to upload assets and files for flash movies, music, slideshows etc. and delete redundant ones if you were running out of space.
MobileMe is not nearly as versatile and efficient as commercial servers for website publishing but a lot of iWeb users don't seem to realize that they can store a lot of other stuff there.
MobileMe is relatively expensive so, to get value for money, you should take advantage of as many of its syncing and storage facilities as you can. Joe Kissell's book, "Take Control of MobileMe" covers all this stuff and is now available as an EBook for less than half price.....

  • MobileMe and iPhone conflict?

Since I got an iPhone, now Mobileme on my MacPro says pswd and ID are invalid...I set up phone first, but still no luck..and changed pswd and ID several times..and my account is current, so now I can't publish my websites. Any ideas how to fix this or do I need to upgrade OSX? Any advice appreciated.

Your iPhone has nothing to do with your MobileMe account, so I would suggest that it is a MobileMe problem.
iPhones can't use MMe anyway, so it should not affect it.
