Mobileme still crashing with Aperture 2.1.3

Hello all,
I'm submitting this request for support with a problem iv been having with aperture for more than a month now.
I launched a new mobileme gallery through aperture and added some photos to the gallery, then aperture froze while its uploading the images to mobileme.
I restarted the program and it works fine until the aperture splash launch screen, after I hit continue it would take me to no where.
I can only view the apple (aperture) menu bar, i tried to view the windows but everything in the menu bars is gray.
i tried rebuilding my aperture library after that, still no go.
i tried deleting aperture and reinstalling it again. no luck either.
the only way i can see the aperture panel is if i clicked on File>Import, then from there it would freeze again.
thank you for you support

That Album in the Gallery is only a reference file: it links to images that are contained in the library. I would suggest the only safe way to remove these is to start Aperture and delete them in there. If you start going into the Finder and taking them out there, Aperture will have problems searching for files that no longer exist.
Did you also consider going into the Username>Library>Preferences folder and trashing the PLIST file? Don't empty the Trash initially in case that does not work.

Adobe Applications Manage rin Yosemite Kaput. Advisor directs me here. Another Adobe Run-around. CS5 Extended still crashing with Eyedropper when moved to desktop.

I'm sorry to report that I've not yet  figured out how to go about this 'Cleaning'. I've run the cleaner on the Applications Manager, then attempted to reinstall the downloaded Applications Manager and again I get the same message as above. I attempted to trash the Applications Folder and rerun the installer. That did not work. I then moved the downloaded Applications folder to the utilities folder and restarted CS5>Updates. It reports, again it can't find/or is damaged Applications Manager. I will now take the folder out of the trash and return it to the Utilities folder.
If I run the Recovery tool on Photoshop will I uninstall Photoshop or will it only 'clean' it. Does it mean I will lose any third party plugins?
I do thank you for your continued support. This is the first time a requested answer/suggestion to my troubles has been promptly be addressed by 'Adobe'. I am also pleased I can reply to an email to aid in resolving questions.
    Again, Thanks!

  • Finder is still crashing with Lightroom 1.3 and Mac OS X 10.5.1

The problem reported with Lightroom 1.2 and Mac OS X 10.5 (Finder crashes when trying to read a JPG whose metadata contain some Lightroom specific development settings) is still present with both updates... Any hope Adobe would provide us with a way to fix existing pictures/metadata?

The Lightroom XMP data for snapshots, which is totally valid XMP data makes Leopard barf because Apple's implementation of XMP in Leopard is not capable of parsing the snapshot XMP. This is most totally Apple's fault...and only Apple can fix it...
The Photoshop CS3 & Leopard issue with text entry in certain tools is another Apple Leopard fault that Apple will need to fix...
There is also an issue with Epson print drivers running under Leopard and Lightroom 1.3 where printing is not picking up the correct data and print come out light...the same drivers will work with CS3 because CS3 is using the older, none Leopard pipeline. Also note that CS3 will NOT be able to print out using the Leopard 16 bit pipeline while Lightroom 1.3 will be able to...as soon as Epson revs their drivers...
Look, Leopard has introduced MAJOR changes well above and beyond the marketing features Apple promotes....eveybody is scrambling...but to Adobe's credit, they HAVE responded well and quickly to those issues Adobe can fix. Those Adobe CAN'T fix will have to be fixed by the companies responsible....

  • Firefox 30: still crashes with or without addons enabled

I have tried everything mentioned in every other forum, i have created another profile, no fix, i have disabled all add ons no fix, it still crashes in safe mode, i have uninstalled and reinstalled fifefox 30: no fix, i have updated drivers , I have uppdated windows 7 ultimate, i have updated Flash all no fix, I have updated anti virus no fix, i have uninstalled and reinstalled firefox no fix, issues started about 4 days ago always crashes when trying to play embedded vidio and also when using face book, have returned windows to a restore point of 10 days ago no fix,
now totaslly and utterly flummuxed. One final point everything works fine in IE

I should have read more into your problem.
Your crashes are caused by (again) Flash. Flash is problematic and Mozilla is in the process of replacing that piece of crap with Shumway. It's present in the latest Nightly but not working yet. I hope it's done soon. :)
Try to disable Protected Mode in Flash 11.3 and above by adding the line ProtectedMode=0 to the Flash "mms.cfg" file located in one of these locations: [46]
    (Windows 32bit) C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash
    (Windows 64bit) C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash
For example, on a Windows 7 64-bit system, open the C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash folder, copy the file "mms.cfg" to the desktop, open it in Notepad, add a new line <code>ProtectedMode=0 </code> and then close Notepad, saving your changes. Next, go back to the C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash folder, rename the original file to "mms.cfgBAK" (to save it as a backup) and then drag and drop in the modified "mms.cfg" file from the desktop. [47] [48] [49]
Note: To re-enable Flash Protected Mode, either restore a backup of the original mms.cfg file, if you saved one, or else re-edit the mms.cfg file to remove the <code>ProtectedMode=0 l</code> line you added. Updating Flash Player or installing a newer version does not automatically re-enable Protected Mode
If that doesn't work, Try disabling Hardware Acceleration. <br>

  • 10.0.9 update still crashing with Snow Leopard.

I posted that it looked like my crashing problem with FCPX on Snow Leopard was fixed with the 10.0.9 update, but I was wrong, it's still crashing like before. Very disappointing.

    Sorry to hear that.
I run FCPX on 10.6. 10.7, and 10.8. Of those three systems, the application is the least stable on 10.6 – perhaps a half dozen crashes a week. Not so many, however,  that it's anything other than an annoyance. Trashing preferences nearly always fixes it. I have a lot more stuff on 10.6 than the other OS, so I'm inclined to blame a conflict rather than the OS.
Since the usual fixes don't seem to be working for you, try creating a new user and see whether it behaves. Or, for a longer term work-around, make a partition on your boot drive (or external), install 10.8. and dual boot.
    Good luck.

  • IPhone 3G STILL Crashes with iOS 4.0.x and 4.1 update

I'm still having performance issues. My iPhone 3G boot up time has increase but it still crashes every time I tried to use it,
regardless if I use it for gaming, being on the phone, or anything. The battery meters keeps on showing that my battery is low when I know I had it plugged and had it fully charged just 10 to 20 minutes ago and I had not used the phone yet it was just on standby mode. I'm very frustrated with my upgrade OS 4.0.1 and 4.1 makes me wants to go back to OS 3.
The updated iOS 4.1 had not fix my major issues. Very disappointed with Apple!

    Hey BuePod,
    What the guy meant my "...kick the iphone out of recovery mode..." please read below & I had included a link below to his comments;
"To kick the iPhone out of recovery mode following the downgrade you’ll also require Umbrella, handy little app which you can obtain from my site here (Umbrella-4.00.80.zip) or direct from the authors iPhone firmware site. I didn’t allow it access through my firewall (tries to save SHSH blobs, by design, on a remote server – not required to kick out of Recovery Mode). This simple app has the advantages of not requiring additional DLLs or other files installing, functions on x32 and x64 systems and not attempting to do anything untoward to your system."

  • Spooler still crashes with client 5.98

All of our systems are Windows 7 Enterprise 64bit.
We deployed over 100 systems with the 5.94 client.
First thing I tried, was deploying a bundle to those machines to run the silent installer for 5.98. This fixed the issue for maybe 30%.
We had several support calls for "printers disappearing", so I started directing clients to just run the install for 5.98 themselves from our print servers pcontrol.htm page. This fixed another 50%.
I still have about 20% of our systems where after both steps, the spooler keeps crashing when the workstation has been on for a bit and they try to print.
I noticed through software inventory that these systems still reported 5.94 in the Users\[username]\Appdata\Local\Temp\RarSFX0 folder, but registered 5.98 in the Windows folders.
I went as far as to remove all network printers, then uninstall the iPrint agent, and then delete the RarSFXO file, then reinstalling the 5.98 client and the network printers. It still did not fix these remaining systems.
Here is the ippErrs.txt from a system updated to 5.98. that is still losing the spooler.

  • Inetd service/program crashes with core dump in Solaris 8 zone/container

I have developed a service in C that is launched from inetd when something comes on a specific port.
When a connection is opened to the port a core dump is created in the same directory where the executable file is located.
If you run the same service program from the command line everything is working perfect.
This is running in a Solaris 8 zone/container on a Solaris 10 machine.
Everything is set correctly in /etc/inetd.conf and in /etc/services.
I have even stripped down the program to a hello world program that is just printing a string to the screen and it is still crashing with a core dump.
    # ldd test_srv
    /usr/lib/secure/s8_preload.so.1
    libc.so.1 => /usr/lib/libc.so.1
    libdl.so.1 => /usr/lib/libdl.so.1
    /usr/platform/SUNW,Sun-Fire-480R/lib/libc_psr.so.1
The same service is running on a Linux machine and on a Solaris 10 machine without zones/containers without any problems.
Can you please help me figure out what am I missing. Is there something specific with zones/containers that should be set / configured?
Do I have to set some specific env. variables to work in a Solaris 8 zone/container environment or is it something very simple that I'm missing?

Could you please examine the truss log and advice what the problem is and how to fix it?

  • Stickies crashes with Unrecoverable exception...

    Hello all,
For some unknown reason, my administrative account cannot start the Stickies application (ok, it doesn't keep me awake at night, but I'd like to fix it). When starting the application, it crashes instantly and I get the following message in my Console:
Stickies[338] Unrecoverable exception in _unarchiveStickies name:NSArchiverArchiveInconsistency reason:* class error for 'Documet': class not loaded
Yes, it says "Documet", not "Document". This may be part of the problem.
I've tried Stickies on another user and it works fine, some the problem has to do with something in my account...
How can I fix this? Can I reinstall Stickies?
    Thanks!

Unfortunately, this did not help. My application still crashes with this error message (same as before):
08-08-27 08:20:54 Stickies[765] Unrecoverable exception in _unarchiveStickies name:NSArchiverArchiveInconsistency reason:* class error for 'Documet': class not loaded
Are there any local classes for each user?
    Thanks.

  • I'm on Firefox 35 now and Shockwave Flash still crashes and freezes up my Firefox. Please fix this for any future version.

I wanted this fixed for Firefox 34, but nope. It still crashes with "Shockwave Flash may be busy" and I am getting sick of hitting Ctrl+Alt+Delete to go to the task manager and ending firefox.exe. It's not the 1990's anymore. It's 2015.

  • Does Anyone Else Have PC Crashing With Photoshop?

This is by far my most serious problem.  It started with CS5 and still crashes with CS6.
On intensive or involved Photoshopping, my system will frequently and suddenly bluescreen.  This happens ONLY when I'm working with Photoshop.  I'm not sure whether to blame Adobe or Topaz Labs, as I use Topaz filters extensively.  Upgrading my video driver yesterday didn't help.
    PC
    MSI 990FXA-GD80 Motherboard
AMD Phenom II X6 1100T CPU
    8 Gigs DDR3 RAM
    Asus nVidia GTX550 Video w. 1Gig RAM
OCZ Solid 3 60 Gig SATA III Solid State Drive
Western Digital 750 Gig SATA III Hard Drive
OCZ 750 Watt 80 Plus Power Supply
    Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit
Okay, it has nothing to do with the 64 bit software as CS5 was 32 bit and it would bluescreen occasionally.
There's no telling when or if my system will bluescreen.  A week or so ago, I got it to repeat a bluescreen while editing a Topaz generated graphic image.  However, I tried playing with that same graphic yesterday and it didn't bluescreen.
My next step is to spend an hour or so editing the heck out of an image and NOT using Topaz filters.
Anyhow, I just wondered if anyone has had similar problems or any comments on using Topaz filters.
    Gerry

Well now I have two replies which pretty much cancel each other out.  As I stated above, I spent a lot of time editing the heck out of a photo and not using any help from Topaz filers.  I couldn't get my edit to cause a bluescreen, however let me add my edit sure lends a new definition to the word abstraction.
I'm going to somehow go on a Topaz free sabbatical and see what happens.  In addition, I've asked Topaz what video cards they use in their development PC's.  Good luck getting an answer on that one.
<sigh>  It never ends does it?

  • Aperture 3.6 and iPhoto 9.6 crashes with nikon .nef files (raw format)

I've got a problem with raw files support for my Nikon D700 camera. Even though this camera is listed here: https://www.apple.com/pl/aperture/specs/raw.html both Aperture and iPhoto see .nef files as a white image. If I try to edit one, both apps crash.
How can I get a raw files support in these applications?
I have updated os, apps and even tried to remove and reinstall raw camera bundle as it was described here RAW files suddenly show up as "not supported" (Aperture 3.5.1, OS X 10.10). No luck.
My OSX is installed on SSD, while iPhoto library is on the secondary HDD drive.

Norbert, I cannot find the post you are referring to.
Have you had the problem with Aperture 3.6? This is surprising, since the Aperture 3.6 released is supposed to fix this bug, see the release Notes: Aperture 3.6 Release notes
    Aperture 3.6 Update
Adds compatibility with OS X Yosemite.
Fixes an issue that could cause Aperture performance to slow down while browsing through images with onscreen proofing enabled.
Fixes an issue where Aperture could become unresponsive in rare cases when adding to a shared photo stream.
Fixes an issue that could cause Aperture to unexpectedly quit when using the Write IPTC Metadata to Originals feature.
Aperture no longer displays the alert, “This library has been opened with a newer version of Aperture.” when using Library First Aid with libraries previously opened in iPhoto.
Do you remember, which of the presets in Library/Application Support actually is causing the problem, since deleting all of them is causing a lot of work to restore the custom settings? It would be great to know the specific file.

  • Aperture 3.1.2 Crashing with Lumix DMC-LX3 RW2 RAW Files

The subject pretty much sums it up: Aperture has recently starting crashing with certain files from my Lumix LX3- I am fairly sure the problem is limited to the RW2 RAW files from the Lumix, as I shoot as well with Canon 5D and 1D MkII and have not noticed any problems with these files. Also, I should not that Aperture handles the vast majority of the RW2 files with no problems (the RAW-engine update which supports these files is installed), but there are certain files that I can not open or view- Aperture will crash immediately if I click on them...
Any ideas? Is this something 'Repair Database' might help with or is there another problem.
    Thanks in advance,
    Jason

    Thanks for the quick response-
No, as far as I can tell there are no adjustments that are generally common. It seems to be completely random files, and some files which worked fine at one point no longer work. I have also tried 'Remove all Adjustments' and this doesn't seem to help. It's not a lot of files- I just find them as I work through the photos to edit, but for example out of one batch of 100 or so files there were 2 files which I can't open...
The files open fine in Adobe Camera RAW, so this seems to be an Aperture specific issue. Also Aperture has created previews for the effected files, and if I click 'Quick-View' I am able to view these previews, but Aperture can't load the RAW files.

  • HT5132 I've already dealt with my MobileMe Albums, and now Aperture 3.3.1 is stuck on moving them -- 28 hours and counting. How do I stop it?

I've already dealt with my MobileMe Albums, and now Aperture 3.3.1 is stuck on moving them -- 28 hours and counting. How do I stop it?

    Quit Aperture
Then disconnect from internet (WiFi, Ethernet, etc.)
    Launch Aperture again.
In the Aperture Preferences Web Tab remove MobileMe.
After that you can connect again to to the Internet.
Probably the "Quit" button does not work. Then try to quit using the Terminal to avoid "Force Quit":
Launch the Terminal (from Applications > Utilities) and enter
         killalll Aperture
If this does not work, use "Force Quit".
See here why to avoid force quitting:
If Aperture is unresponsive, how to avoid force quitting?

  • MobileMe Family Master still messing with iCloud accounts

Have been battling with this issue ever since iCloud came along, so I hope somebody has some answers for me:
Here's the situation: I had (well, I guess I still have) a MobileMe family plan with a "master" account and three member accounts (myself, wife, and daughter). The member accounts have all individually been migrated to iCloud and are working fine. However, my wife and daughter are seeing my calendar and address book data on the iDevices (iPads, iPhones, and iPod Touchs). In the other direction, I'm getting their address book and calendar data (note: calendar's not much of an issue, because my wife and I shre our calendars, anyway, and my daughter hardly uses hers).
My "theory" is that, since all three of us are using member accounts, the data is still flowing up to the master and being distributed from there. Would anybody concur?
Now, I assume that, once MobileMe is switched off (is this still planned for June this year?), the problem should solve itself ... or could it cause even further problems? Does anybody know of a way to disable the MobileMe master account? It's not needed, anymore.
    Many thanks!

    > My "theory" is that, since all three of us are using member accounts, the data is still flowing up to the master and being distributed from there. Would anybody concur?
That's impossible, because there was never any data sharing between master and family Mobileme accounts. Each account was independent. Plus the master and family accounts do not exist in iCloud. Every account is independent.
If the same data is appearing on different devices, they MUST be using the same AppleID.
