MobileMe to iCloud, calendar problems

Having moved from MobileMe to iCloud, I now am unable to view events on my iPhone calendar, it also doesnt have the option to add events. Address book, email etc have transferred. In iCal>Preferences> iCloudcalDav>enable this account is checked.
How can I fix this, please?

All fixed!
Deleted iCloud from my iphone and when I reinstated it, both problems were resolved.

  • Transfer MobileMe to iCloud - email problem

I transferred from MobileMe to iCloud yesterday
I am using the same .mac address but have changed my AppleID to this as suggested
I now see an iCloud account on all my devices (iMac, iPhone and iPad2)
I receive emails but the inbox only holds one or two messages and then seems to shift them direct to Archive
I can't read archive file on the regular Mail programme - only by going to iCloud.com.
I have not instituted any rules on iCloud but it seems to be behaving as if I have?
    Any ideas??
    Happy New Year

Same bloody thing here.  I've gotten several different errors.  iCal invites won't sync from mail to my calendar.  My password hasn't changed, I've logged onto iCloud, no problem.  Why did't Apple just create a .cloud email addy?  On top of this, since Lion, I've seen more spinning coloured wheels and just frozen apps than I care to see.  I'm thinking all of this was shoved out the door before it was ready.  I regret the upgrade and am seriously thinking of a reinstall to SL.  Starting to think I am dealing with Windows.  Since the update to the ios, I've lost a chunk of my email.  I'm sick of these issues.  Please give me software that will allow my Mac Pro and super HS connection work for me.  Gawd.

  • ICloud Calendar problem on PC

I have an issue with the iCloud calendar on my PC. I have loads of events in my calendar and it's synced with my iPhone 4, running iOS 6.0.1. Yesterday I deleted some repeating events for my spring holiday, starting on 23rd March and as a result I got an intersting outcome: all the repeating events disappeared starting from today, but ONLY ON THE BROWSER edition of iCloud. I have everything working in the Calendar app of my phone, it syncs every time I open the app and all the events are in place until 23rd March after which there are none present (as I wanted).
So on my phone everything is fine, but the events seem completely removed from the browser calendar. I tried multiple browsers from both Linux and Windows and it is the same everywhere.
    Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

No problem [and only since you asked].
First of all, only the original poster (OP) can make the awards and these are limited to 1 x 'This solved my question' and 2 x 'This helped mes' Once you have used the 'This solved by question' you cannot withdraw it (as in your case) and allocate it to someone else. The best you can do to 'compensate' is to issue one (or the two) 'This helped me' provided they have not been used up.
    Regards.

  • MobileMe to iCloud Transition Problems Still

I have sent the following enquiry to Apple, but before I get my response anybody got any ideas?
I am having major problems with moving my mobileMe ID to iCloud.  I last tried it a few moments ago, 23:00 on the 16 October 2011.
Every time I try I get the error saying that the server is too busy and to try again later.
I, then, on the same iMac, signed into my Dad's MobileMe account ([email protected]) and managed to move that to iCloud immediately without any problem, so I do not believe that my problem is still that the servers are too busy. There must be a problem with my account on your system that is preventing me from transitioning to iCloud.
I have tried using both my [email protected] and [email protected] email addresses.
My iMac is running OS 10.7.2 and the latest version of iTunes and all my mobile devices iOS 5.

When I registered with iCoud, I did get an email saying I'd get an extra 20 Gb, but I was on the free trial when they stopped taking new users so I didn't figure I would.  But when I switched everything over from MobileMe to iCloud on Thursday, I did see that I had 25 Gb of storage.  I used the same Apple ID I registered MobileMe with.  By default, iOS 5 uses the ID you use with iTunes, which for me is different than MobileMe.  I had to delete the account they created with my old Apple ID that I've had since the beginning and re-enter my MobileMe ID.  But the 20 Gb did not show up until I made the switch in my MobileMe account.
Here's the text of the "Welcome to iCloud" email:
    "Dear Stephanie,
Congratulations on moving to iCloud. You can continue using [email protected] for email.
One of the great things about iCloud is that it comes with 5GB of free storage for Mail, Documents, and Backup. As a MobileMe member, you also get a complimentary storage upgrade until June 30, 2012. As a reminder, your purchased music, apps, TV shows, and books, as well as your Photo Stream do not count against your iCloud storage.
    Sincerely,
    Apple"

  • TS3999 iCloud Calendar Problems

Im having trouble syncing my Icloud calendar to my computer. It will appear on my iphone and ipad but not my IMAC nor my sisters PC. We are trying to link calendars with work

    Hi Elizablessed24,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
The article you've referenced is the correct one for troubleshooting the iCloud Calendar.  Did you try each of the steps in the "Troubleshooting on OS X" section?  I've highlighted a few of the key points below.  When you have iCloud working on your Mac, then proceed to the section of the article for Windows troubleshooting.
    iCloud: Troubleshooting iCloud Calendar
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3999?viewlocale=en_US
    Troubleshooting on OS X:
Confirm that you've turned on iCloud Calendar:
Choose System Preferences from the Apple menu (), then click iCloud.
If you're using OS X Mavericks v10.9 or later, make sure that the Calendars checkbox is selected.
If you're using OS X Mountain Lion or Lion, make sure that the Calendars & Reminders checkbox is selected.
Try each of these steps, testing after each to see if the issue is resolved:
Make sure that you are using OS X Lion v10.7.5 or later.
Make sure your computer is online. Attempt to view www.apple.com. If you can't connect to the Internet, your iCloud calendars and events will not update in Calendar or iCal. Learn how to troubleshoot your Internet connection.
Open a secure website to test if ports 80 and 443 are accessible. Calendar requires port 443 access to iCloud in order to push and fetch updates to and from the iCloud Calendar servers.
Choose Apple () menu > System Preferences, then click the icon for iCloud. Make sure that you're signed in to the same iCloud account that you're using on your other supported devices.
Make sure that you enter and update calendar information in the iCloud section of Calendar or iCal. Only calendars and events in the iCloud section of the Calendar or iCal Calendar list are updated in iCloud.
If recent changes don't appear, try forcing Calendar to refresh by selecting Refresh Calendars from the View menu. In iCal, select Refresh or Refresh All from the Calendar menu.
Make sure that your account was successfully created in Calendar (or iCal) on your Mac. After upgrading to iCloud Calendar, you may need to quit and reopen Calendar (or iCal). To confirm that your account is configured correctly in Calendar (or iCal):
    Open Calendar (or iCal).
    Open Calendar (or iCal) Preferences.
Click Accounts. You should see an account with your iCloud member name in the Apple ID field.
Turn iCloud Calendars off and back on:
    Quit Calendar (or iCal).
Choose Apple () menu > System Preferences, then select iCloud.
Deselect the checkbox next to Calendars (or Calendars & Reminders in Mountain Lion and Lion).
Close System Preferences and wait about a minute.
Open System Preferences and select iCloud.
Replace the checkmark next to Calendars (or Calendars & Reminders in Mountain Lion and Lion).
    Close System Preferences.
Open Calendar (or iCal) and test to see if the issue is resolved.
Restart your computer. This may sound simple, but it reinitializes your network and application settings and can frequently resolve issues.
    Cheers,
    - Judy

  • Transferred MobileMe to iCloud calendar, erased MobileMe calendar & lost iCloud! ***?

I transferred and there were 2 enteries for everything, so I got sick of double of everything, erased mobileme and now icloud is gone. Please help! If there is no way to fix this, I will never buy a mac again.
Is there any way to go back? I have every appointment there. This will ruin my life!

what do you mean, 'erased MobileMe'? When you migrated from MobileMe your calendars wwere transferred to iCloud and appear in the calendars list in iCal under 'iCloud'. MobileMe calendars appeared under your login name.
Unsubscribing from MobileMe calendars would not affect iCloud, so what else did you do?
Your calendars are probably still on iCloud - check at http://icloud.com and navigate to Calendar.
If so you can simply re-enable them in iCal - go to Sytem Preferences>iCloud anc check 'calendars' - if it's checked already, uncheck it then recheck it.

  • Sync iCal with iCloud Calendar

None of my appointments in iCal show up in my iCloud Calendar. In fact my iCloud Calendar has no appointments in it. I am sure I screwed something up in the coversion and trying to remove all the duplicate entries. In any event, how do I go about syncing forcing the appointments in iCal to show up in iCloud Calendar.

Problem resolved, and I can now see the other replies, strange.
Anyway, make sure you have a back up copy of your address book and iCal. Use the Export feature to make a back up.
This is what I did to finally resolve the problem.
Go into System Preferences and open "Mail, Contacts & Calendars". Remove all accounts, use the - box.
Go into System Preferences and open "iCloud". Make sure that you have the screen that asks you to sign up for an account. DO not do this yet.
Open Mac Mail and Preferences and remove any accouts that are still showing up so your Mail is completely empty.
Reboot your Mac. Check all the above to see if any accounts have been automatically reinstalled or set up. If they have remove them again.
Reboot again and do the same thing. Once no accounts are showing open you iCal and import the file you exported earlier. This will restore all your appointments in iCal on your Mac.
Reboot your Mac. Make sure that all the iCloud and email accounts are not there. I had to do this 3 times, for what ever reason my old MobileMe account continue to be added back to "Mail, Contacts & Calendars". Once everything is clean and you have all your appointments in iCal, reboot again.
Open Preferences and open "iCloud". Add your primary iCloud account and just wait for everything to finish installing. You should see 2 sets of appointments in iCal. Click on the Calendars button in the upper left and uncheck the box under the heading that does not say iCloud. This does not remove any of the appointments it just hides the ones that are on your Mac and then shows the ones that are on the iCloud Calendar.
One last thing. In iCal open Preferences form the iCal dromdown menue. Under the "Default Calendar" option make sure that you have the default calendar related to the iCloud Calendar checked. If you do not when ever you create a new appointment on your Mac you will be creating it in iCal and two things will happen. First all your iCal appointments on your Mac will show up again and secondl, that appointment will not show up in iCloud Calendars so it will not migrate to your other devices.
Apple should give some thought to having the iCal and iCloud Calendars merged so there are not seperate sets of appointments. I know there must be some reason for doing it the way they did but if someone is going to be using iCloud what would be the purpose of having a seperate set of appointments on your Mac that you have to hide and then worry about entering a new appointment that may not migrate to iCloud if you happend to se that appointment up in the iCal list instead of the iCloud list.

  • Problems with calendar sharing from mobileme to icloud

I have changed from mobileme to icloud, and can no longer synch calendars with my older work mac, which is not running on lion, or with my partner, who is still on mobileme and whose older mac is also not running on lion. Is there any way of syncing and sharing calendars across these platforms?

    maliundigel wrote:
Thanks I will look into it - although it is unfortunate that, having already paid for mobileme and following Apple's exhortations to switch to icloud, I have gone from a smooth to an unsatisfactory situation, and might need to turn to external software to resolve this.
Well, I know what you mean but .... I switched to BusyCal quite a while back for the extra functionality it offered over iCal, and even though I think iCal 'should' do what i want it doesn't, so I quit cutting off my own nose and paid for something that did what I wanted instead.

I'm trying to migrate from mobileMe to iCloud but I have Snow Leopard (the latest version). It looks like Lion is no longer available because Mountain Lion comes out next month (July). The problem is mobileMe ends on June 30th. How can I migrate?
My iphone and my ipad are compatible but when I try to go to icloud on my phone it says to do it on my computer.
I would like to have my calendar, contacts, etc.. all sync like they do now. Is there a way to upgrade before June 30th? If not, will the gap be an issue or will I just be able to buy mountain lion and sync everything?
    Any suggestions?
    Thank you!

You can buy Lion in the App Store now, but move to iCloud now. If you wait to Mountain Lion, you will only have Mail in Snow Leopard, so you will lose syncing unless you use Lion or Mountain Lion. It's up to you

  • Problems and questions re merging of MobileMe and iCloud

Please bear with me - this is all rather complicated!
At sometime in my early years with Mac, I signed up for an Apple ID - can't even remember what it was.  Many, many years ago at the beginning of the internet, I signed up for another Apple ID - it was <[email protected]>.   Later, I bought/signed up for .Mac which later became MobileMe.  When I first signed up, I had an Apple ID of <[email protected]>. At some time, I quit using the insightbb email and switched to Mail - my email address became <[email protected]>.  Then MobileMe came along and wanted my address to be <[email protected]> but it did allow me to keep the mac.com address.  I also had two aliases through MobileMe.  I still occasionally need to use the insightbb.com account so while I never sign up for anything using that address, there are a few VERY old accounts I have that use it as it was the address with which I originally signed up.  I don't remember which ones in order to change it, so I just keep it active and only rarely get email addressed to the insightbb acc't.
Today, I upgraded to Lion and then to iCloud.  I used the "migrate from MobileMe to iCloud" format, and low and behold, it told me that my Apple ID is now <[email protected]>.  This is going to cause me BIG problems as there is no way to merge Apple ID's!
My first question is how do I get back my correct AppleID for iCloud?
My second is I now have multiple accounts on my iPhone and iPad.  I have an insightbb.com account - must keep it.  But I also have my new iCloud account and I still have my MobileMe account.  Should I delete these accounts?  What has happened to my MobileMe aliases?  I have subscriptions using them, too!
Aggghhh!!!  I LOVED MobileME!  So far, I HATE iCloud!  I don't need these complications!  Any advice on how to reconcile these problems?

I just got off the phone after an hour with Apple Support.  The bottom line is that somehow iCloud has decided to use my .mac address as my Apple ID.  Yes, I can change it, but if I do, I lose everything - contacts, mail, bookmarks, calendar - everything.  For iTunes and this Community help forum, I will have to continue to use the insightbb Apple ID.  They could not figure out how this happened, as for MobileMe, I ALWAYS used the insightbb Apple ID.  Gremlins in moving from MobileMe to iCloud.
He did say that Apple is working very hard to figure out how to merge multiple Apple ID's as this is becoming more and more of a problem.  So, until they sort it all out, at least I know what to do.

  • I have an 8 year old G5 / OS X 10.4.11, what kind of problems will I have now switching from Mobileme to iCloud?

I have an 8 year old G5 / OS X 10.4.11, what kind of problems will I have now switching from Mobileme to iCloud?

You can migrate to iCloud, but the only thing you will be able to do is access email, and you will have toi set Mail up manually to do this:
Entering iCloud email settings manually in Tiger
This is worth doing to maintain your email address, but you won't be able to sync calendars, contacts or bookmarks. Your calendars and contacts will be removed from MobileMe (though not from your Mac) and won't appear on the iCloud website.

  • Calendar not appearing on iPad after MobileMe to iCloud upgrade

This is weird. I was having some calendar synch issues under MobileMe, but it just got a lot worse under iCloud. No events appear on my iPad, and now there don't seem to be any calendars at all on the device.
    1. My MacBookPro and iPad1 are set up with iCloud, following a migration from MobileMe.
    2. Contacts, bookmarks etc. synch just fine between MBP and iPad
    3. I have 7 calendars under my MobileMe/iCould e-mail address on the MBP
    4. The MBP calendars synch fine with icloud.com. I create an event on one and they appear on the other
    5. No events at all appear on the iPad.
    6. In fact, no calendars appear on the iPad! I can't click to add events!
    7. iPad > iCloud > Calendars = ON
    8. iPad > Mail, contacts & calendars > <mobile me account> > Calendars = ON
This is after lots of hiccups tryng to navigate having two Apple IDs and so on. What happened to "It just works"?
Any suggestions for lines of investigation would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Simon

News about the Calendar Syncing problem with iCloud!
First of all: Now it works! Yeah :-)
    What I did:
    1. Kill my iCloud account just on the iPhone. Not on the iMac, just on the iPhone. And I told the iPhone to kill all contacts etc. JUST on the iPhone.
    2. Activate iCloud on the iPhone with my Apple-ID.
    3. After about 3 Minutes all was back again! :-) Including all my calendars now! Yippieh...
That worked for me, I hope, it will help you.

  • Problems with iCloud Calendar OS 10.8

Problems with iCloud Calendar OS 10.8
I would like to warn users of a couple of problems I have encountered recently with Calendar. I have been in touch with Apple phone support about this and after 3-4 hours on the phone they have arranged to call back tomorrow. A colleague informed me yesterday he has experienced exactly the same problem as described in point 1. below. Looks like a software glitch – I hope it can be fixed quickly.
    1. Deletion of single entry in a repeated event results in loss of display of all related events in iCloud Calendar but not on devices
Deletion of a single entry from a repeating event (after correctly selecting to delete only the single event and not to delete all future events) results in failure to display all of the related events in iCloud but with retention of the related events on devices such as iPhone and iCal on a computer.
There have been occasions, very briefly, that the events so affected display correctly on iCloud, only to disappear from the screen within about a second of opening the page in Calendar.
Deletion of the relevant account in iCal (on the computer) and its subsequent reinstallation results in correct display of the calendar in iCal, but persisting failure to display the calendar entries correctly in iCloud. This appears to ONLY effect repeated entries in which one of the repeated entries has been subsequently deleted after the creation of the repeating event. Single entries, or repeated entries that have not been modified, do not appear to be affected.
This problem is consistently occurring regardless of whether the repeated entry is set to end “never”, “after number of times” or “on date”.
My conclusion is, there is a problem with the display of the repeated events in iCloud (?an HTML coding issue) but that the events are being correctly saved in the calendar database.
    2. Random dropout in “repeat” function for new events and/or “repeat” function in edit of existing event
In the course of investigating problem 1, I have discovered that the pop-up menu in iCloud Calendar that allows new events to be created or old events to be edited apparently randomly has the repeat event function missing in the pop up menu – making it impossible to create a repeating event from a new entry or to edit an existing event for the repeat function. All other functions appear to be preserved in the affected pop-up.
This problem is also apparent in iCal – i.e., it is not restricted to the web version of Calendar. I have not had the time or the energy to investigate this in detail. At first glance, it is a random error.
Solution: Apple needs to debug this software

    Thank you paulfromstpeters !
    I have the same problem!
I don't remember what I exactly did, but after some changes on a repeted event (I think I deleted some recurrens), it doesn't appear anymore on the iCloud and on the iPod (but correctly on the MacBook).
