Mobility Service Engine 7.4.100.0 ova WEB Services problem

Hello,
We have sucessfully installed MSE-VA-7-4-100-0.ova file in our Lab, and after installation we can't open https session with MSE.
When we type <https://mymseipaddress> we are getting these message:
Error 404 - Not Found.
No service matched or handled this  request.
Known services are:

We are able to import MSE to Cisco Prime Infrastructure 1.3 and we have communication with WLC. We have tried proposed solution explained in link below:
https://supportforums.cisco.com/message/3656441#3656441
but we are are unable to import server certificate  becouse our certificate vallidation is falling. We don't know how we should append private key to the signed certificate in order to get our MSE web services up and running.
Any help in solving this problem would be much appreciated.

Jelena

  • Azure Mobile Services and ASP Identity - Exception when using UserManager

    I've reviewed
this post in the AMS forum and it doesn't really answer the question. I already know how to integrate authentication, but Identity implements a lot of boilerplate user management code that I don't want to have to reproduce.  My question is: Is it possible
to use Asp Identity framework with Azure Mobile Services? Since AMS Back End has Microsoft ASP.NET Identity Core/Owin as dependencies, I would think that the answer is yes, that they are compatible?
I have been progressing as if it were possible, but yet, now when I go to try to use the Identity UserManager, I am getting the exception stated in
this asp.net identity bug. Are there references in Azure Mobile Services Back End to previous versions of Microsoft.AspNet.Identity that would result in mismatched assembly versions?
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Asp.Net Identity, even to the pre-release of 2.2.0, but I am still getting the exception that it couldn't load the CultureAwaiter. I have asked in that post if the bug has been fixed, but from the scant evidence of
the posts and lack of responses, I would think that the bug has been fixed.
    ibGib

The bug referenced in the original post shows that the required version is 2.1. I found that when I published to Azure, even though I had the correct (2.1) versions of the NuGet packages installed, the loaded dlls were not the correct versions. I do not
know if this is an Azure problem or an Azure Mobile Services problem.
I came to this conclusion by looking at the loaded Identity dlls in a new, up-to-date mvc app, and then looking at the same loaded dlls while debugging in Azure. The Azure dlls are older versions than the up-to-date MVC app versions. I figure that somewhere
along the lines, Azure Mobile Services is loading the incorrect version of the Identity dlls, even though I have the correct versions installed via NuGet. Maybe there is another explanation.
But regardless, I should be able to use the up-to-date versions of Identity in order to address bugs in the Identity framework. It would be nice if an AMS person would clarify about the dll versioning. I did come across
this SO comment by someone who seems to be an AMS guru, but it doesn't seem to make sense. It does, however, seem to corroborate my and BinLaw's observed behavior of the backend dlls.

  • Can cisco MSE(mobility service engine) configured to work with non-cisco access points?

I understand that access points can be configured to forwards all the probe requests to cisco wifi controller. cisco MSE(mobility service engine) gets the probes from wifi controller to find the location of the mobile devices.
My question, can cisco MSE(mobility service engine) be configured to work with non-cisco access points?

No and the reason why is the NMSP communication from the MSE to the WLC. Other vendors don't support this so there is no communication happening.

  • ISE ( Idendity Service Engine ) & MSE (Mobility Service Engine ) & Prime Infra

What is the difference between ISE ( Idendity Service Engine ) & MSE (Mobility Service Engine ) & Prime Infra .
How this will be used along with WLC & AP & wireless Users.

The Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) is an all-in-one enterprise policy control product that enables comprehensive secure wired, wireless, and VPN access, leading to more productive workers and lower operations costs. When operating in a network, ISE provides the following key features: 1.Rigorous identity enforcement 2. Extensive policy enforcement 3.
Security compliance 4. Automated onboarding whereas Cisco Mobility Services Engine supports RTLS and WIPS and Cisco Prime is centralize wireless and wired Monitoring and management solution. ISE and MSE both can be integrated with Cisco Prime. For more deatil over these products you can see the below links.

  • Mobility Service Enginer & WCS required or not?

    Hi,
I have Cisco Wireless Lan Controller 5508 with 35 (3600 Series Access Points.  Do i need to purchase Mobility Service Engine for this or no need?  Do i need WCS server for this or no need?
    Thanks,

The WCS/NCS/Prime and MSE are optional devices that you don't need to get your wireless up and running. So no, you don't need to purchase those devices unless you want the features those devices will provide you. These features are listed in the data sheet.

  • Need some help getting started with Mobility Services Engine

Someone has ordered several 3602 access points, a 5508 controller, and a MSE 3310 for one of our remote locations. The access points and controller are in place and are working fine (we use lightweight APs at many other locations), but I'm not sure how to approach the MSE. I've gone through the set up, and it's onsite, on the network, and I've added it to our WCS server. It's got a 2000 user context-aware services license. But I'm not sure where to go from here. It doesn't seem to actually be doing much of anything. Is there some quick start guide as to where to go from this point? The wireless users are mostly mini netbooks and iPads.

Well, I'm no expert, but I did spend the night...
Ok.  In the WCS on the Services tab, Mobility Services, your MSE is recognized and reachable with matching SW Versions.
So, on the home tab, ContextAware tab, you see your MSE and it is showing Zero's  for data in most if not all fields?
Back to the Services tab, Synchronize Services...  is this empty?
The MSE can only 'SEE' what you tell it to 'LOOK' at.  That is, buildings and floor areas.  I haven't tried just a building.
Check the left hand box for all the floor areas of interest.  Scroll to the bottom an slect 'Change MSE Assignment"
select which (of the many or the one) MSE you wish to have monitor the area.  Check the 'CAS' box and save.
Up on the upper levt is a Synchronization block..  push the Synchronize button and sit back..
All MSE data is presented only to the WCS (or Pi).
    Good Luck

  • Need to log into Mobility Sevices Engine

    Hi Everyone.
Sorry if anyone already addressed this issue before. I just can't find it.
The preious wireless technician left our company and didn't leave the password. Now we need to re-ip the WCS, WLC and MSE. The only problem left is with the MSE.
From the WCS, I can see the username for the MSE is admin, and the password shows asterisks.
Also from Security Index Detailed Report in the WCS, I can see the following description,
Device Security Issue: Mobility Service Engine  Mobility Services Engine user has default password configured.
Security Solution: Configure strong password for the users on the Mobility Services Engine
    I did a research and from this link (http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/mse/3350/6.0/CAS/configuration/guide/msecg_ch2_CAS.html), it's saying "
The default username and password are both admin. "
However when I tried to SSH to this MSE(model# 3310), MSE asked for username and password. I put admin/admin there and got an error mesage of "password authentication failed". I am thinking there is another default password for this MSE. Anybody can help? I don't want to go through the password recovery process. Another question is that if anybody can point me a link of how to change the IP address of the MSE.
Any input will be greatly appreciated.
    Robert

    Robert,
If you don't have the password, then you'll have to go through the recovery process.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/mse/3350/quick/guide/mse_qsgmain.html#wp1053115
To change the IP, you can go through the setup script once you can get in.
    /opt/bin/setup.sh

  • Cannot change GroupWise User Name in GW Mobility Service 2.0

    Hi,
In GW Mobility Service 2.0 I can no longer change the "GroupWise User Name" value, which I need for the the address book selection. I need to change it, because we use AD authentication. This sets the username value to CNAME, which is different from our logon names (sAMAccountName). I can only change the "Mobility User Name""now. In 1.2.5.299, I was able to change it.
As a result, I'm unable to add new users to the system. Anyone know how to fix this?

This has actually long been an issue, and I had failures even with 1.2.5. I
think you got lucky. This is a known problem with using LDAP groups for adding
    users.
Also, you say that you were using AD groups, and this is definitely not
supported. eDirectory is the only supported LDAP server for Mobility and that
    has always been the case.
So, I'm afraid that if this was working before, it was totally by accident.

    Hi,
I'm sorry to hear that. I've been using it with AD as an LDAP source for quite some time without any issues. I still use it for authentication to the web interface itself. It would still work if I could just modify the "GroupWise User Name", like I could in the previous version. It doesn't seem logical to allow changing the "Mobility User Name" and not the "GroupWise User Name".
I am adding users through the web interface now and abandoned adding them via the LDAP group option (still use AD auth on the devices). I don't want to use eDir as I'm trying to move away from it. Every system within our company authenticates using AD. I only have eDir for GroupWise and with the next version of GW coming up and fully supporting AD, I can finally go to a single Directory.
When I migrate to GW 2014, will I be able to select GroupWise for authentication in Mobility Service and have the POA use AD authentication? Effectively giving Mobility Service AD authentication through GW? If so, the only thing that would not work is adding users via a group (if eDir is not used anymore).

  • Microsoft Mobile Services Protocol

Hi, Im wondering if RIM removed the msnmsp from live accounts.
I was with BELL and was able to change the protocol for my hotmail account from a POP to an MSNMSP. I liked the Microsoft Mobile Services Protocol because messages were delivered to my device promptly, now I have to wait about 15 mins top get email all my other email like yahoo, AOL and even my GoDaddy email comes in promptly.
Now i am with Telus and they fricken refuse to properly transfer me to RIM and they even lie to me saying that they dont have tier 2 support which I know they have because I looked into it and also found out that they can.

Ok, Problem resolved, but not with out LOTS of time, work and aggravation.
I started on the phone with AT&T, and they gave up after 30 minutes (though they were extremely polite...).  AT&T then transferred me to RIM, and I ended up with a nice tech in Canada.  Tech #1 went through all kinds of tests and could not fix the issue. AND - I did have to give him my password so he could try to setup my email account himself.  He then transferred me to Tech#2, who was very knowledgeable, and fully understood my problem though he did not known how to fix it.  We managed to get my MSN email address working as POP, but I told him that before I switched to MMSP, my MSN account was not POP, in so much as email to that address did arrive in realtime.  He understood me, and we both keep trying and finally, he gave up, and said it would have to go to the main techs, who essentially work on the BB/RIM servers/backend.  He promised me it would be setup in 48 hrs.  So after nothing happened with in 48 hrs, I tried re-setting up my msn email myself, and it fully and completely works.
AND - as an added bonus, RIM must have slightly updated BIS, becuase now the Hotmail Contacts Sync actually works.  YES, on my BB 9780, I am 100% syncing my MSN (Hotmail) contacts wirelessly.
So, to make a long story short, DONT SELECT "Switch to Microsoft Mobile Services Protocol"!!! If you do, and you email no longer works, you are going to have to speak with RIM, although you will need to call your carrier first and have them transfer you to RIM, so that way RIM will have your BB's PIN and can see exactly whats going on with your phone.

  • "Microsoft Mobile Services Protocol" Problem

Hello everyone.  4 days ago, I checked my email accounts on my 9780 under Email Setup.  On my primary email address, a  "@msn.com"  address, I noticed a new feature I had never seen or heard of before, called "Switch to Microsoft Mobile Services Protocol".  I did a few minutes of research on what it was (it was suppose to convert my msn email from POP to IMAP, which would have been excellent...)  and I then activated in from my phone.  A few hours later and I realize that email address is not receiving new email, so I do the logical thing, and I delete the email address from Email Setup.  Then, I try to create a new email account using the same @msn.com email address, and the system wont let me.  Every time I do it from the phone, it gives me a error message saying "Update Failed".  I have also tried to create the new email address from BIS online, and it also will not allow me to create a new email account for that specific email address.
I have verified that I can create  new email accounts with other addresses, including other @msn.com addresses, but I just can not create one using my old (and most important) address that I had switched to Microsoft Mobile Services Protocol, and then deleted.
Does anyone know how I go about fixing this problem?
    Many Thanks.

  • Offline data with mobile service - How to limit data download

    Hi to all,
I have to manage offline data with mobile service.
I have a table with a lot of data but I would like to download data range by range,
let say 100 records for time.
Is it possible to do this with PullAsyn method?
I noticed that I'm not able to use skip function at the query parameter in the PullAsync method.
Infact if I try to use it in the query
    await mytable.PullAsync("mykey",mytable.Where(r => r.userid == iUserId).Skip(iSkip).Take(iTake));
    I receive this error:
Incremental pull query must not have skip or top specified
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks
    Daniele

Right now, the implementation of PullAsync() in the .NET SDK, will always try to continue paging until the end. So this will download the initial range, but then continue on with everything after as well (updating skip until no more records are found)
So you would be better off (probably) in letting the inc sync logic handle the paging for you.
To come up with an appropriate workaround, what issue are you running into letting inc sync fetch all the pages sequentially in the background?

  • Mobile Service API no longer working after making app public: 503 Service is unavailable

    Hi guys,
I've been running my Azure Mobile Service in a private beta for a few months now with about 5000 beta testers. My Mobile Service has been working perfectly until I decided to make the app public on the Windows Phone Store. A few minutes after that calls to
the service's API are no longer responding. I debugged my app to see if I could figure out what was wrong, and the mobile service client isn't throwing any exceptions, after the API call is made nothing at all happens.
Both my service and the app are written in .NET C# (the app is also a WinRT app). The mobile service code hasn't been modified in a month, and the code within my app that makes the API calls hasn't been changed since I first wrote it. Also, the service logs
in the dashboard are now blank since the app launched.
If you have any ideas, that'd be awesome. The app depends on the mobile service to function 100%.
    Thanks!
EDIT: After trying to load the service's URL in my browser (http://mytube.azure-mobile.net/) I eventually got an error message saying "HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable." The status of the
service on the dashboard says "Ready."
According to the dashboard I have not gotten anywhere near the quota for API calls, and I have even upgraded my account to receive more API calls. The service works locally running it in IIS, and I have tried re-deploying it from Visual Studio.

  • Benchmark Figures for Mobile Service Database

    Dear SDN Community
We want to implement CRM Mobile Service and are looking for benchmark figures for the database size to support the database vendor decision.
We intend to replicate business partners and contacts by postal code, all products, service orders, price conditions, service confirmations, and enable van stock mgmt.
I know this is only high level - but we are looking for benchmark figures how to calculate the to be expected database size on the Client.
Every rough estimate is highly appreciated! Benchmark figures would be perfect!
    Thanks very much
    Christian

    Hi,
we had the same request in an earlier MSV project but we couldn't get any (official) estimation tool from SAP product development which allows us to decide whether MSDB (resp. MSSQL Express Edition) is sufficient or not.
Anyway such a statement would be very risky because there are hundreds of parameters which could have an impact on the DB size. E.g. a single 5 MB attachment of a service order equates to thousands of BP or products (including conditions).
I would suggest to use the MSSQL 2005 Standard Edition in the Dev and QA environment and simulate the effective data volume with reasonable test data there.
Also you should try to minimize the data volume (and transfer) by using suitable filter criteria (especially for the product master incl. conditions). Service orders and confirmations can be revoked from the Mobile clients after they are closed by using according status filters. BP can be replicated by using an interlinkage order -> BP in order to optimize the BP amount on the laptops. The attachment maximum size can be defined in customizing.
Also note that running the Mobile sites in unicode mode could cost you up to 100 % more DB space.
Finally there are some important notes which refer to tools for DB administration (defragmentation, reorganization).
I suppose you will have a proper result concerning the needed DB size on the laptops after you have done these configuration steps and observations in the QA enviroment.

  • Integrating a PHP Web App with an Existing Azure Mobile Services and Mobile App

I've got an existing mobile app that is integrated with Azure's mobile services. The mobile services are currently connected to Azure Active Directory with MFA enabled. I'd like to build a separate PHP-based web application (Azure VM) that uses this existing
    mobile service and authentication.
I reviewed the Azure PHP SDK, but didn't see any tie-ins to the Mobile Service. Additionally, Azure has some great tutorials, but for mobile services they all seem to focus on iOS, Android, and Windows phone. Any insight into how to tie a PHP-app into this
    backend would be much appreciated!

Although there isn't any client library for PHP, you can still access Mobile Service using the
    Azure Mobile Service REST API.
