I wonder if it's possible to have my left Fn key and Right Win key swapped with my new GE60 2OE

I have installed the x64 SQL Server 2008 R2 Express with default settings and run MBSA 2.3 (using default settings too). It shows three SQL Server instances: MSSQL10_50.SQLEXPRESS, SQLEXPRESS and SQLEXPRESS (32-bit). For the first, authentication

about such multiple instances was asked and the answer is that "MSSQL10.TEST_DB

I have two questions:
1) How can it be that SQL Server DB Engine instance has different authentication mode than corresponding SQL Server Instance?
2) Why 32-bit instance reported although I installed only 64-bit version?

Upd: Tried on clean Windows 8 installation and Windows 7 with the same result.

Because I DO NOT want the three people who will be having access to the production SQL Server to also have access to the primary host ProductionA. Since I have to allow them to RDC into the box to manage the SQL Server, I figure why not create
a separate VM for each one of them and they can RDC into those instead.
Does this make any sense?
Any tips are greatly appreciated. The main reason for doing this is because the three people who will be accessing the box, I need to isolate each one of them and at the same time keep them off of the primary ProductionA.

Since you dont want the 3 guys to have access to Production machine A.You can install SQL Server client .By client i mean SQL server management studio(SSMS) on there local desktop and then create login for them in SQL Server.Open port on which your SQL server
is running for three of the machines so that they can connct.Now with SSMS installed on each machine each can connect to SQL server from there own machine.
I would also like you to be cautious with giving Sysadmin privilege to all three of them ,first please note down what task they would do and then decide what rights to be provided.
Your option will also work but you need to create 3 VM for that .Which is more tedious task.

Newbie: swap fn and ctrl keys on T60

I bought a used T60. I am used to using HP Pavilions where the Fn and Ctrl keys are in the opposite positions as on the T60, and I am having trouble retriaining my fingers.
So i looked for info about how to swap them. I understand KeyTweak doesn't work on the Fn key, and then I ran across a message about getting to the BIOS.
I have never messed with BIOS stuff before, but I did interrupt booting, get to it, but do not see swapping the Fn and Ctrl keys listed among the keyboard options. So I am guessing this feature is maybe in a newer verison of the BIOS.
I don't want to trash my laptop, but I'd like to swap the functioning of these keys - is there an idiotproof way?
Also, I used the onetouch Pavilion keys a lot to invoke Firefox or thunderbird. Is there a way to make a key on the T60 keyboard do that? There are several keys I never use for anything, like PgUp, etc.

Not exactly true. You can't swap the keys with ORIGINAL BIOS - there are modded versions available that will let you do it.

Swapping Function and Control keys on a Lenovo Laptop

Lenovo laptops reverse the usual positions of the Function and Control keys (see this photo). It seems like a minor problem, but it is very frustrating.
How can I swap these keys? I have tried various xmodmap configurations (some based on the examples provided in the manual and some based on this eerily similar question), but nothing seems to work.

Want to swap FN and CONTROL keys: Hope of BIOS support?

I hate the Lenovo placement of the FN key where most systems have Control. I've experimented with operating system changes to remap keys, but these have failed. In the Ubuntu Linux email list, people contend the swap of the FN and Control must be made in the BIOS because of the way the FN key functions.
If you know of a software method to swap the FN and CONTROL keys, please tell me.
If you have any information about using the BIOS to do that, please tell me.

Although enabling this swap in BIOS has been a wish expressed by many new users coming to the ThinkPad world, no BIOS currently supports it.

Dashboard prompt for report which displays curent and previous FY

We have a dashboard with the prompt for the FY and one of the reports on the dashboard should show results for selected FY and previous FY. Report has filters Fiscal Year is greater than or equal to PREVIOUS_FSCL_YEAR AND Fiscal Year is less than or equal to CURRENT_FSCL_YEAR. However if filters are not protected report will display only results for FY selected in prompt but if they are protected it will then ignore prompt. Any idea how to resolve this issue? We need this solution if FY 2009 is selected in the prompt report will display results for FY2008 and FY2009 or if FY 2010 is selected report will display results for FY2009 and FY2010.

Hi,
You can do this by creating a dynamic variable in the RPD for the current year as:
SELECT (TO_CHAR(sysdate,'YYYY')) from dual. This will produce Current Year value.
In the Answers for the report which refers to the Year Column. Make a filter from the Year Column. While making filter Click on 'Advanced' in the Filter--> Convert this filter to SQL. And inside it write this forumla: Column_name_will come=VALUEOF(Dynamic_Variable_Name)
For Example-"Time Period Year"."Calendar Year" = VALUEOF("Current_Year_Var")
Make similar filter and write the SQL Filter as- "Time Period Year"."Calendar Year" = VALUEOF("Current_Year_Var")-1
(This will give you the last year value)
And important is make it as 'OR' condition between the two filters.

I have a tabular form containing a lot of number fileds shown as TextFileds, where Users may input large numbers.
Is there any way to let the numbers inside the TextFileds be shown right aligned.
And maybe using a number format, which the user isn't bound to follow (just for display)?

Hello Johann,
In the Column Attributes set the Element Attribute (in the Tabular Form Element) to style="text-align:right" for right alignment.
You can use the Number / Date Format (in the Column Formatting) to 999G999D99 (or whatever you like) to get a number format.

I have PS CS4 Extended. When I start it I get a message that I need to reinstall it. I search Adobes and found a download for Mac which I installed and when started entered myserial number. It was not accepted. Any tips?

The file downloaded is named NikCollection_1.2.8_0511-456.dmg. The installation went ok but when I start photoshop i am prompted for my serial number,
I have it on the back on my CD case (but my CD is not working any more) and it is the same number as it registered at my Adobe account.
Photoshop starts ok but after a while it prompts for my serial number. When I enter my serial number it is not accepted.

When you enter the serial number see that you get the serial number correct, in fact copy and paste from the one in your account.
You should see a green checkmark.
If all goes well you should be allowed to install and activate. If activation fails, contact Customer Care by phone or Chat.

HT201317 for photostream which is upload and which is download?

I have an ipad2 and am simply trying to transfer my pictures from my laptop that I previously had taken and transferred to it. Gosh it seems like it should be easy. I'm about to give up. I think it should be as easy as putting each folder into the icloud photstream folder and applying it to the upload, right?? It is late at night and I just want to make sure I am not screwing this up? Any insight?

Swap cmd and ctrl keys?

hello im a mac user but i have to open windows on bootcamp to do some work sadly.
im finding it realy annoying having to swap between "command" and "ctrl" all the time. is there a way to swap them?

You don't say which Windows you are using but there are many free applets for Windows that allow restructuring the keyboard. Just google for them.
I take it you don't use the terminal mode in Leopard much, because that's the same as Windows.
It always takes me a few minutes for my brain to "fix" my fingers for the OS in use - then it's OK.
But I am sure you will find something on the net that will do what you want.
