Mod help with SN margin reset?

Hello.
Lost about half my download speed about ten days/two weeks ago, the weather me thinks caused a few glitches. Im sure its the noise margin not resetting. I have tried to power cycle the hub, alas to no avail.
It's an old white hub with phone.
Connection has been stable for past 10 days only my own turning off the hub twice in vain atempt to try and force a reset.
Hoping you guys can check my hub stats and point me to the mods if appropriate.

    As your notebook is a business class machine, security is more stringent - the password is stored in non-volatile memory and there are no 'backdoor' passwords.  Your best option would be to contact HP regarding this.

    What are Subscriber Services on iPad? and where would I find the 26 digit Authentication Key?

    Bt mods reset the noise margin yesterday. So far been stable with an extra 5mb of speed on the download. Very happy with the result. Thanks to all for thier help, i will post router stats again so a difference can be seen. The reason the connection time is so short is because the power went out this am and im not long up to turn it back on.

  • Need mod help with ip profile

    Hi all,
    Ive been having problems with the speed for the past week, i have consistently received speeds of around 1meg until now.
    I have a suspicion that my ip profile may be stuck, if a moderator could help that would be great.

  • Help with Bios Password Reset Service

    I am trying to use the Bios Password Reset Service for Power On password and Hard Drive Password. The current setting in the Bios is "Enabled, In Progress". The Bios sidebar help tells me that in order to complete registration for this function to open the Create Recovery Media application and "follow instructions". I am lost, there is nothing there about the Password Reset Service. I have already created the Recovery disks and even a Rescue Media disk.
    I have found that in the Client Security Solution application, under the advanced tab there is a "Setup Hardware Password Reset" function but it is greyed out!
    Since this function is available for selection in Bios shouldn't I be able to use it?
    I am using the Windows logon password recovery function in Client Security with no problems.
    Any ideas??

    UPDATE:
    In case anyone cares, I was finally able to figure out how to activate the Hardware Password Reset feature in my T61. Here is the solution, at least in my case:
    1)Found the file in Program Files->Lenovo->Client Security Solution->HwPwReset.exe
    2)Ran the file and followed the instructions
    3)A "Secure Environment" was created in the hardrive and the laptop restarted
    4)The laptop booted into the Secure Environment where I was asked to establish 3 security questions and answers.
    5)The laptop restarted and the status of the Pasword Reset function in BIOS changed to Registered.
    Now if I ever forget the Power-on or Hardrive passwords all I have to do is press F12 on boot-up, select Password Reset option, answer my security questions and voila, passwords are reset or removed. Very nice!
    BTW, I called Lenovo technical support twice and after talking to 3 "techs" and one supervisor they had no clue on how to do this. Go figure!

    I've tried to turn off/on my iPhone4S, but it's not responding.  When plugged into a power source the apple appears for about 10sec, then fades away to a black screen, then reappears after 3-5sec.  That's all I can get it to do....please help

    You probably have to put it in recovery mode now and restore it. Something went wrong when you updated the iPad. If you backed up before you updated the device, you will be able to restore the backup, sync with iTunes and you should be fine.
    Try a conventional restore first. This explains how to do it. Read all the way to the bottom and see the section unde Additional Information for the link to Recovery Mode.

  • Need help with deleting and resetting admin user

    I have a problem with the admin user on my computer. Here's the background: My computer started making popping noises. I found that the popping stopped when I switched to a different user account. I have repaired permissions and reset the PRAM, but this did not fix the problem.
    Can I fix this user problem by deleting some or all preference files, or by some other means?
    Or...how do I set up a new admin that has all my old settings and files from my original admin? I have never done this before and am very nervous. I have charged ahead to fix things before and then discovered that I erased important files! so I am going to be patient (sort of) this time.
    I have a backup of the drive that my user data is on, as well as a clone of it for booting.
    Any suggestions on ways to make this less painful are appreciated.

    Here is what I suggest:
    1. Create an admin account that will be strictly an admin account. i.e. you won't be using it for anything else but to administer your computer. Here's how:
    Go to the Apple Menu, System Preferences, and open up the Accounts panel. Click the to add an account, and check the box to let that user "Administer this computer." You are temporarily creating a second admin account. Be sure you give it a good password and that you remember it! Now, log out. Don't just do a fast user switch. Log out completely, then log into the new admin account you just created. Go back to System Preferences, Accounts, and find your original user. Uncheck the box for that account that allows it to administer the computer. You've now changed your regular account into a Standard account and you've created a new admin account that you'll hardly ever use. That's the point: only use the admin account when you absolutely need to.
    Log out of the new Admin Account and into your former Admin Account, now Standard account. Check your access to the folders in your account. If you get notes telling you that you do not have sufficient privileges that can be corrected.

  • Help with tabs, I reset but doesn't fix problem when started again

    When started the new tab is blank and doesn't show the 9 previous pages like before. I have gone to help the troubleshooting and then reset Firefox. This works until I shut down Firefox although when I start a new session the New Tabs are Blank again.

    Is the new tab page completely blank or is there a little 9-square icon on the right side? If that's there, can you check your history and make sure your history wasn't cleared?
    In the future, you shouldn't need to do a full reset to edit this preference. In fact, it would be helpful to take a look at what is there when this problem occurs. This involves using the about:config preferences editor:
    (1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
    (2) In the search box above the list, type or paste '''newtab''' and pause while the list is filtered
    (3) Double-click the '''browser.newtab.url''' preference and enter your preferred page:
    * ''Page thumbnails (default)'' => about:newtab
    * ''Blank tab'' => about:blank
    * ''Built-in Firefox home page'' => about:home
    * ''Any other page'' => full URL to the page
    Press Ctrl+t to open a new tab and verify that it worked. Fixed?
    If it's fixed temporarily, does it stick until you exit Firefox and restart it? Sometimes preferences will be changed at startup by a user.js file. This file isn't created by Firefox, but can be created by a user or third party software to override your regular settings.     I'm currently updating a site and don't know why this is doing what it is doing. I check the site in IE9, Opera, Firefox, Safari, and Chrome, and all looks good. It also looks good in IE 7. But in IE 8, there's no bottom margin at all. Any ideas on what is going on? Here's where the temporary site is...

    Thanks for any info.... It's just IE 8 that does this. Does the same in Browser Lab as well when IE 8 is selected for the browser.

    the Last advice I could offer is to remove margins and apply padding instead.
    Please note the following example which i created on jsfiddle.  http://jsfiddle.net/fezec/Zuf4f/
    you will see that if you use margin, there is white space at the top and the bottom margins are unaccounted for.
    yet if you remove margins and uncomment padding, you will see the desired effect you are seeking.
    HTML auto collapses margins in some cases, and not all browsers handle this similarly. and IE 7 or 8 especially.
    in your case margin-collapse would occur because your container houses ONLY block level descendants.if you had an inline at both the top and bottom you most likely would see the margin being applied.  Pretty stupid for sure, but unfortunately one of the stupid browser quirks. Actually its not really a quirk but rather done this way for our convenience. this way when we specify margins, we dont have to keep it straight in our heads the calculations of vertically adjacent margins.

    iChat (it would help to know which version) can accept Apple IDs as valid AIM Screen Names.
    However if you have iChat 5 or earlier you cannot use ones ending in @me.com or @icloud.com issued by iCloud. (they can be used in iChat 6 or Messages as these versions make a double login to AIM and Apple to allow the use of the password).
    In addition if you are using an Apple ID for an AIM Screen Name the password still needs to keep to the 16 character limit that AIM has.
    AN @mac.com name can be used on any version of iChat  (Until the 30th June 2014)
    As it does not need a double check with Apple you can use it to log in to the AIM Web pages
    Login here with an AIM Name registered at AIM or and @mac.com name and see if you get any suspended account messages.
    Sometimes account can be suspended. Usually because something has triggered the "Unusual Activity" item.
    About a year ago many @mac.com users that travelled out of their own country found themselves suspended when they got home.
    If the Name checks out of if an Apple ID the password in known to be 16 characters or Less then do this:-
    In Lion upwards open a Finder Window and use the Go Menu whilst holding down the ALT key.
    Select the Library that appears in the menu list.
    Navigate to Preferences.
    (If you have version earlier than Lion the just navigate to ~/Library/Preferences (that's the Library in you Home - Little House icon - folder)
    Fnd com.apple.ichat.aim.plist (even if you are using Messages)
    Drag the file to the Trash and Restart the app.
