MOD REQUEST: Editing or deleting a post i made

Hi,
I would like edit or delete a post i made.
Is this possible ?

If you could go to the actual post, and use the option to flag to a moderator, explaining the reason why you want the post deleted, they should be able to help.
Remember however, Google would have the original post in its cache, so it may persist on thi Internet for quite a while.
There are some useful help pages here, for BT Broadband customers only, on my personal website.

  • Editing or Deleting a Post

I sure could be mistaken (because I belong to several User Forums; not just this one), but I could've sworn there was a way for a registered user to edit or delete their own posting(s) after they'd been posted. But I can't seem to find anywhere - even on the Help page (which is really annoying) how to do it. Even got an Apple Tech on the phone and she couldn't find anything on editing or deleting a user's own posting either. Am I crazy? Didn't there used to be a way to do this?
    Thanks!

    You're Welcome Mike!
Topics were also systematically removed from the Forum, after a certain amount of time of inactivity.
But no longer. They are now usually here in perpetuity, unless removed for just cause by a Host.
Instead they are Archived, and Locked, so no additional replies, other than by the OP, are allowed.
What that means is, that if there are no additional responses in the Threads, the Topics will get continually pushed down on the Topics list. After a certain amount of time, maybe 2 to 6 months, the Threads will be locked, and archived. But the Threads will not disappear.
Threads in heavily trafficked Forums, may be archived more rapidly than those in areas, with less activity.
If someone were to do a Discussions Search, using these parameters:
Restrict by Category or Forum: All Categories
    Restrict by Date Range: All
Restrict by Username: A Member Alias
all of posts by by that member, created since about 11/13/05, would be found.
And Thank You, for extending the courtesy, of awarding in  Discussions, as this is not a requirement, nor mandatory, but is much appreciated!

  • Visitors Editing and Deleting their Posted Information

Visitors to my website will be able to post information and upload photos.  At the same time I would like for them to be able to delete or edit their information.  Does anyone know how I would do this?
    Thank you.

Sorry for being so vague.  My website is go to function very similar to Craigslist.  So I want visitors to be able to log in and edit or delete their postings.  I'm not sure where to start.  I would like for visitors to sign in and see their postings so that they can edit and/or delete them.  I'm not sure where to start.  Do I have to create an edit/delete page? I used a tutorial before that taught me how to create a delete page but it was for administrators. http://www.adobe.com/devnet-archive/archive/dreamweaver/cs4/first_dynamic_site_pt3_05.html Would I follow this to allow visitors to edit/delete their posts?  If so, how do I modify this so that they can edit/delete their posts only?

  • To Moderator or Admin - Please edit or delete my post!

    Dear Apple Moderator,
Foolishly, I included my domain name in a post I submitted and now I'm very concerned that, when people Google me professionally, that post will come up because my domain name is in it and Apple Discussions are indexed in Google so highly.
    PLEASE help.
Can you either remove my domain name from the post or delete the post entirely?
Here is the link to the post: http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=8157650#8157650.
(If you can also answer the question I posed in that post, I'd love that, but the more urgent need is for my domain name to be removed!)
Thank you so so much for your help!
For your reference, I've copied the text of that post below:

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't tell me this is the final word on the crashing of iWeb. I was working on my webpage *domain name is here - please remove it or delete post* in iWeb (and SAVING CONSTANTLY) when iWeb quit. When I opened it back up, the page I was working on (sadly, the most complicated and time-consuming page on the site) was completely blank... white... nothing. Still in the list of web-pages on the left, but BLANK. Blank. Nauseatingly blank. You know the feeling...
Help. Please someone tell me your magical way of excavating this page from wherever it must be (it must be somewhere right?).
Otherwise, I have to recreate it... of course. And that thought... ouch.
    Thank you!
p.s. WHY isn't saving the same as backing up? Saved is saved, no? In every other program I've ever worked in, at least if something crashes you can go back to the last saved copy. And sometimes it even "recovers" the file when it crashes. Help...

Hi Amanda. It looks like the Hosts have this taken care of for you.

    Hi there!
I am trying to delete a post - maybe an Apple Host could help me out.

This post contains personal email and information, when I google my name, that's the first choice (and I don't like that).
    Thank you so much.

Hi jeff. Do you think you can somehow delete my post. I felt I had a legitimate question but clearly others didn't think so. I don't want more people to harass me or email me nasty comments. I would be very thankful if it could me deleted.

  • Why is there no way to edit or delete a post?

I accidentally posted a discussion before I finished it, and I need to edit it.

Um, no, not sure how you got that meaning.
If you are using an Android, Windows, Blackberry, or Mac device you can edit your post within a 15 minute period.
If you are using an iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad and using the Safari browser you CANNOT edit.
How is that discrimination? Apple is discriminating against itself?

  • Delete a post

    Hi all
I know that this page has nothing to do with my question , but i need some of you to guide me please .
How can i delete a post i made in this forum .
    Thank you guys
    Bill David

    You can't.
Is there a good reason that it needs to be deleted, such as you posted some proprietary information?  If so, you can go to the options menu to the upper right of your message and pick Notify Moderator.  Give a good reason as to why it needs to be deleted.
I know you realize the LabVIEW forum was unrelated to your question. Feedback on NI Discussion Forums is the forum for questions and issues about the forums.

Using my iMac, I'm trying to log onto another PC at a remote location whilst in VNC mode. Control-Alt-Delete is the request, but this doesn't work. Any clues??

Thanks, great work... I think that's where I was headed!

  • Mods, could you delete duplicate posts?

    Hello Mods,
Could you please remove duplicate posts here:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=974752&tstart=0
There must have been some sort of error with the software and my post was repeated three times.
    thank-you,
    littleshoulders [:-)

I just encountered the same. First my reply said it had timed out. Next a message that I could not reply more than once in 30 seconds, then posted another reply. Still nothing in this thread but probably will be duplicated.

  • Edit or delete  material reservation

    Dear All,
regarding material reservation created using MB21 TCode.   some examples in which system creates reservation without date (for some items, not all items) When i am  try to edit or delete such reservations system gives us an error   "Posting date is initial" and does not allow us to edit or delete such reservations.
    1.  Why system creates material reservation without date and how to prevent it?
    2. How to delete such reservations?
    sunil

    Hi,
Regarding this issue, the reason why you got F5669 when accessing
reservation in MB22 is that the requirement date RESB-BDTER should be blank.
I don't know why the requirment date of the reservation became blank
    in your system..
Unfortunately, there is no standard report available to update the old
reservations with requirement date. This problem can be solved by updating the value via SE16 in deabugging mode
    1. run SE16, input the table name RESB and press ENTER
    2. input the reservation number and press Run button.
    3. In transaction code bar, input the '/h' and press ENTER to activate the debugging mode, then double click the item line.
    4. in debugging mode Select 'Switch to Classic Debugger'
    5. then press F7 and Double click code, then its value was shown below.
Currently the value is SHOW, please change it to EDIT, then click the Pencil button.
After clicking Pencil button, press F8.
Now you can see the field is editable. You can now change the required field's value and click the SAVE button
    ***CAUTION****
Please be careful and not wrongly input or typing value in other fields!
After you exit SE16, the edit mode is closed and return to normal display mode
I hope this can be of help

  • Trying to delete this post

Trying to delete this post. Anyone know how to delete a post? Actions just lets me edit this post.

Posts cannot be deleted by users.  If they are really terrible a level 2+ user can request they be removed and then the decision lies with the hosts for this service.

  • Hello, How can I edit or delete a custom label in the contacts list on iOS 7.0.3 on iPhone 4S ?

Hello, How can I edit or delete a custom label in the contacts list on iOS 7.0.3 on iPhone 4S ?
    i need it so muchhh!

Sort of depend on what you are trying to do precisely. In Edit mode, if you tap on any label, you will be given a list of options, plus an Add Custom Label option near the bottom of the list

I've been trying to find a way to do this since I updated to IOS 7, and I've just found the solution/explanation, even tho is a bit heavy to carry out.
IOS 6 creates custom labels and save them giving you the option to delete them.
IOS 7 creates custom labels but don't save them, so there is no need to have the option to delete them.
But here comes the problem, if you have some custom labes saved in you Iphone / Ipad with IOS 6 and you update it to IOS 7, the device will keep those labels saved, but you wont be able to delete them.
I realized this by going to contacts on Icloud. There those labels that I had on my devices weren't there. So simply restoring your device and configuring it as a new one to later sync your Icloud Contacts, will solve the problem.
I know this post is old, but I might just try this with iOS 8. I have outdated custom labels that annoy me, because I still seem them in the list as options. If I get desperate enough, I may try your solution.

  • Editing or deleting a marker

I am having trouble editing marker names, or deleting a marker. The play head is right exactly on the marker and yet, the option to edit or delete that marker is greyed out on the Mark pull down menu. As such, I can neither change the name of the marker or delete it.
Any ideas why this is or what I could be doing wrong?
    Thanks

Did you try trashing FCP's preferences?
Open a Finder window. Set the view mode to columns:
Click the house icon that has your name next to it.
Click the folder "Library" in the next column.
Find and click the folder "Preferences" in the next column.
Find and click the folder "Final Cut Pro User Data" in the next column.
Move the files "Final Cut Pro 6.0 Prefs", "Final Cut Pro Obj Cache" and "Final Cut Pro Prof Cache" to the Trash and empty it.
When you have a stable set of preference files, download [Preference Manager|http://www.digitalrebellion.com/pref_man.htm] to back them up. If you have further problems, the backup can be recalled and you can continue working.
