Mod Wheel controls fader, not modulation???

When using the mod wheel on a M-Audio keystation 61es through a Roland SI-24 on Logic Pro7.1, the mod wheel doesn't affect any plug-in parameters (cut-off, etc). Insted it changes the fader on Audio Track 2 and Audio Instrument 6. Any help?

DrumKit Designer uses Articulation ID's to control the HiHat Open/Closed amount. Switching to GM+ does indeed work the Open/Closed amount here on F#1, G#1 and A#1 notes with the Mod Wheel. It works regardless of MIDI transmission channel and regardless of the Instrument track MIDI Channel.
You may note that playing say an F#1 with the Mod Wheel on Max will give you an open Hat sound, but moving the ModWheel back to zero will not give you a "pedal closing" hat sound. You have to play the note again.
If the controller device is correctly sending MIDI CC1, the OP may want to switch DKD for the EXS24 after loading the desired kit and setting the GM+ in DKD. You could then open up the EXS Editor Groups pane and watch check that they are being selected as you play a note repeatedly whilst moving the Mod Whl.

  • MOD wheel only goes up to MIDI value 86

    Hi all,
My MOD Wheel, controlling modulation data in Logic pro X, only gives MIDI values from 0-86.
Even when the wheel is at the top, the data never goes above 86.
Would anyone know how to get it to output values from 0-127?
    Thanks

  • Mod Wheel not changing Articulation ID

I'm using the Samson Carbon 61 keyboard controller to program drums with Drum Kit Designer. The decice is working correctly. But when using the GM + Mod Wheel for Hi Hat control, the Mod Wheel doesn't make any changes in the Articulation ID parameter. I already checked and the Mod Wheel is sending the corresponding CC#1 (Modulation) messages to the software correctly. Does anyone know how to solve this?

  • Mod wheel won't stop moving selected fader?

Anyone else seen this problem?  Moving my mod wheel moves whichever fader is currently selected in the mixer.  I can't make it stop.  Automation Quick Access is turned OFF.  Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Michael

How is it that no one has responded to this question?  Is anyone out there?  I have had exactly the same problem.  The music on my iPad is a complete mess -- some albums are missing, others are missing half of their music and have those little red bulls eyes (the ones that show downloading progress) next to them.  It's utterly useless.
When I plug it into my Mac Book Pro, sometimes it just hangs on "preparing to sync" but other times it goes through "downloading purchases from ipad" and then thinks it's all done.  I also tried to turn off sync music, and to put it on "sync all music" but iTunes continuously puts it back on "sync selected."  It has been doing this for months on end now.
I have looked all over these forums and on the web, and all I see is frustation.  My only recourse I guess is to move on from Apple, or use some other program that Apple hates, like MediaMonkey. Apple really has become a bottom of the barrel provider -- your updates only introduce new problems that no one can seem to help with.
And please don't suggest I jump through hoops with iCloud -- I have. I have deleted the account, I've turned everything off, and I've turned off and on the "find my ipad" feature, I've turned off an on the "sync over wifi" -- all suggestions from others, and the same thing happens in iTunes no matter what settings are on or off, or what combination of settings are on or off.  It simply will not sync the music library, making my ipad just a piece of wasted space and money.
I really don't know what else to do.  I know no one will respond to me any more than they did to the original poster, but I had to vent my complete frustration -- it was either type, or take a sledge hammer to all my apple products.
    Samsung, here I come.

  • Control center not working on iPhone 6 plus when in landscape mode

I has a iphone 5 before it , and there's no problem with the control center, now with this expensive iPhone 6 plus , the control is not working when the phone is in landscape mode , when the screen tapped repeatedly, I can only see the little tab of the control center but I can't able to bring it up.
    Anyone has this problem?

    Hello torontonightowl,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For some initial troubleshooting on this issue where you're unable to open the control center on your iPhone, please first restart your iPhone, and if the issue persists then reset the iPhone.

  • Using Logic X-Mod Wheel not being received.

Im having an issue with the mod wheel info on passing to Logic X. Its not m¥ controller because it works in Pro Tools.
Odd ly if I assign another controller with the same CC number , Mod. info can be recorded ( but not from the Mod wheel )

Not sure exactly how this happened but there was one command called Jog Wheel. I removed that and the Mod Wheel started working. Thanks ErikSimon as this was found in the Controller Assignment window.

  • .xlsm Can't exit design mode because Control 'Command Button 3' can not be created

I have several Windows 7 Enterprise machines that cannot open one .xlsm file properly. When it opens, it is opening in Design mode rather than as a spreadsheet with macros. My users are getting the error "Can't exit design mode because Control
'Command Button 3' can not be created". All our machines have Office 2010 ProPlus, but this file will only open on the XP PC's that have yet to be upgraded. Any ideas?

    Hi,
How do you create the button in Excel 2010? Just insert the control manually or insert it using a macro?  This issue may be caused by the controls aren't instantiated before you can exit design mode.
    Please try the method:
Code can only run after all controls are instantiated and properly connected. Make sure every file needed for the control is available before trying again.

  • Midi controlled filters, aka use mod wheel to change cut off frequency

Does garageband have any filters that you can control in real time via midi? Such as dynamically changing the cut off frequency of a low pass filter.
I'd love to do a classic filter sweep using the mod wheel.
Are there any midi controlled AU plugins that can do this?

Any automation in GB is done via the automation curves.

  • Korg kontrol - MOD WHEEL and DAMPER

    okay.
has anyone figured out how to get the mod wheel to work in logic pro 7? also, how do i get the damper pedal not to 'start and stop' (yeah, that's really useful.. not) but to actually sustain my synth plug-ins...
    i read this post: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=771418&#771418
and it really helped... especially the link to this:
    http://manuals.info.apple.com/en/LogicPro_Control_SurfacesSupport.pdf
(hey apple, maybe next time you should include that little piece of info w/ your product!)
ideally, i'd like record synth parameters (mod wheel and sustain pedal) and have automation control over logic.
IS THERE ANYWAY TO DO THIS?!?!?!?!?
am i alone here? is anybody out there?
so far, i've had to delete the controller icon, record the synthesis stuff, then rescan to enter native korg mode and then do the logic track fader stuff...
there's got to be a more elegant solution than this...
    g.

    Greetings,
I am curious as to whether you ever were able to get Logic to learn the new assignment for the damper pedal (to sustain notes) while in Native motive.
I cannot get it to work and am using the same specs (Korg Kontrol49, iMac Intel 20, etc). I am able to have Logic learn the new sustain assignment but it still doesn't work (the notes are not really sustained).
Any help would be much appreciated if you were able to figure it out...

    INCLUDE ZDR_PGM_TMP_USER_COMMAND_01I01.
    thank in advance
    Dharma

    Hi,
When a table control is added onto the Screen Painter, it is mandatory that the fields that you have added on from the dictionary be present in your program and is used within a loop...endloop.
    PROCESS BEFORE OUTPUT.
    MODULE STATUS_0100.
LOOP AT T_ITAB INTO WA_ITAB WITH CONTROL TABCONTROL1.
         MODULE PURCHASEITEM_DETAILS.
       ENDLOOP.
    PROCESS AFTER INPUT.
    LOOP AT T_ITAB.
         MODULE USER_COMMAND_0100.
    ENDLOOP.
The internal table that you declare will have the same structure as that your table control. So it always loops with respect to the table control.

  • How can I add a mod wheel?

I've got a Yamaha P-120 keyboard which I use as a controller for Logic. It's a really nice keyboard that I love playing on, but it doesn't have a mod wheel on it, and I'd really like to be able to send modulation data into Logic to take advantage of sophisticated sample libraries. Is there some way to add just that functionality?
One thing I thought of is getting an expression pedal, which the P-120 supports, enabling it to send expression data into Logic. Does Logic have some way to remap the incoming expression data to modulation data? Any other ideas? Thanks.

Never having used a pedal, I can only guess, but here goes:
First make sure your your pedal is plugged into your keyboard and your key board into your computer.
Then create a physical in object in the environment if there isn't already one there.
Next, attach a monitor object to the sum output of the physical in object and try using your pedal. You should see the monitor respond accordingly, displaying series of 3 numbers. Pay close attention to those numbers.
Now hook up the output of your monitor to a tranformer object and set the transformer's mode of operation to 'apply operation and let non corresponding values through'. Then set the transformer condition section to Control and the first 2 numbers to those your monitor outputs, leaving the 3rd field as thru.
Set the operation section to Control, fix 1, fix 1, again leaving the third field blank, and hook the object up to the instrument you want to control, or better still to the seq input.
    That should be just yummy!

  • Evolution MK449C Mod Wheel problem with Logic Pro/VSL Performance Tool

I'm using the latest version of Logic Pro on a new Intel Mac Pro. My controller keyboard is the Evolution MK449C, connected via a USB cable.
When using a Logic Audio Instrument assigned to the ESX Sampler Plug-in (running various samples, mostly from the Vienna Symphonic Library,) Logic's Transport Window doesn't register any modulation information generated from my keyboard.
As the VSL Performance Tool relies heavily on the Mod Wheel info to effect the sounds, I'm at a bit of a loss to spot the solution. When I assign a different conroller to the Mod Wheel, i.e. volume, pan, pitch bend, etc., I can see the info in the Transport Window with no problem, so I know the wheel itself is working okay.
Has either Logic or the ESX got some kind of controller filter, - maybe I've accidently turned something on that cuts out any incoming modulation. Can anyone help?
    Thanks
Mac Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

It's good to know someone else is having a similar problem (if one can call that good!)
I've been poking around and I've also noticed this: If I create a cello part in Garageband, articulation works everytime I open it. If I take that Garageband song and open it in Logic, articulation still works everytime I open it. The Logic file in this instance is saved as a "Logic Song." I don't know how to tell, but I'm assuming the Logic song is drawing it's sound files from the Garageband song (I don't know how to check that).
However, if I save the newly created Logic song as a project - with all sound files being copied to folders within a master project folder - articulation does not work when I reopen the file.
    Strange. And frustrating.

  • Mod Wheel Only Goes Down To 45

This is a very recent problem. My modulation wheel now only wants to go down to around 45. It will go all the way up to 127, and hit it around 3/4 of the way to the top. I have checked all the keyboard settings I know to check. It shows it only going form 45 to 127 in both Logic and on the keyboard display. It is a Kurzweil PC1X. I am sure that this is keyboard related, but I can't find a good Kurzweil place to ask questions, and thought you guys might be able to help me. Also, I thought there might be a way to define the mod wheel parameters in Logic. The mod wheel is very important to me, because I normaly use it to control velocity for Vienna Instruments.
Oh, and as a side question. How do I find out what the different midi controllers are called on my kepboard? If, for example, I were to use a seperete controller to control velocity, and wanted to redraw some things after performance in the Matrix editor, how would I find out which midi controller it is from the list of options? Thanks very much.
    Colin Thomson

I can't help with the Kurzweil because I don't know it.
About controllers, usually in good keyboards, like yours, you can customize them choosing which MIDI message they send; they are described in the keyboard manual together with a MIDI implementation table.
If you want to see in Logic what happens when you use a controller open the Event List (under the Window menu).
    cheers

  • Controlling fades with Omnisphere??

I've got multi-timbral 8 tracks set up with Omnisphere. Is there a way I can control fades on individual instruments? Like, be able to set the automation for individual instruments?
If I try to do it in Logic, then any one instrument I adjust seems to affect all the other 8 instruments.
I remember doing this before somehow ... and have, in the interim, futzed some preference maybe?

    Hi
In Logic, multi-timbral instruments are not handled so well, and what you are observing is the normal behaviour: the 'channel strips for each part are actually all controlling the same thing'.
There are (at least) 3 ways you could do this:
    1
Open Omni in Multi-output mode, create additional Aux channels in the mixer. In Omni, route the parts to different outputs (A-H). Add these Aux channels to the Arrange (select in the mixer and choose Options:Create Arrange tracks....).
    Automate the Aux channels.
2 Use the MIDI Learn function within Omni (see the Omni manual for info)
    3
In Omni, choose 'Enable Host Automation", and then use Track Auto in Logic as normally.(see the Omni manual for info).
There are also handy videos on the Spectrasonics site that may help.
