Modbus Logical Data Member Status Not Logging

I am using several Modbus objects and have setup aliases for all of the Native Members that are being used.  For each alias, I checked the "Log to historical database" box.  None of the members/aliases that have not been setup as Alarm Conditions (i.e. checking "Generate logical alarm" box) seem to be logging to the database.  When I print Alarms and Events ot Event only reports, none of the non alarm events, other than button presses and Edit Mode On/Off events are in the reports.  What am I doing wrong?

There are 2 databases. Alarms & Events are logged to Alarm/Event database.
The Modbus objects that you "Log to historical database" are logged as traces and saved in the citadel database. As logical members they will be logged as 1's or 0's. This data can be viewed with Measurement and Automation (MAX) or within Lookout using hypertrend objects.

  • Logical data corrupton in alert log

    Thanks for taking my question! I am hoping someone can help me because I am really in a bind. I had some issues restoring my database the other day. I thought I recovered everything but now I am seeing more errors in the alert log and I have no idea how what to do. Any help would be greatly appreciate!!!!!
    I listed alert log errors at the end and I am 11g windows 2008 .
    My first mistake was stop archive logging while a large job ran to save some time.
    After the job completed I restarted the archive logging and then backed up the database and took an scn.
    I then recovered back to the scn above and it appeared to go ok excetp I then noticed I had (2) v%database_block_corruptions.
    I then decided to recover back several days and restore an the prd schema via an export takien before 1st restor.
    I changed the incarniation back 1 and recovered and imported schema back.
    I checheck v$database_block_corruption and it as empty. I am thinking ai am good.
    I restart several batch jobs which finished ok.
    I backup and it is good.
    I now have the below logical errors in the alert log. They appeared inbetween the nightly rman backup and export.
    Help! What is causing this and how do I fix it?

    ALTER SYSTEM ARCHIVE LOG -this is the nightly backup.
    Edited by: user579885 on Jul 23, 2009 7:36 AM

    If the index is part of EM why wait? How many EM users can you have? It should just be the DBA's.
    Being the object is a PK there could be FK that references it. If there are FK to the PK I would try the alter index rebuild to see if that 1- works and 2- fixes the issue before I resorted to drop/create since the rebuild can be done without having to disable and re-enable the FK.
    Also note that under certain conditions such as if the index status is INVALID the alter index rebuild will read the table rather than just read the index for its data.

  • Purpose of Prefix and Suffix in Logical Data Member?

    Hi,
    What is the purpose of the prefix and suffix fieldin a logical member?
    For instance, I have the word "Off" entered in the On field and the word "On" entered in the Off field.
    The  "Invert Logical Signal" is unchecked.  So is this the same as having the "Invert Logical Signal" checked if you enter the words Off and On as above?
    Thx.

    Hi Zog626;
    The prefix and suffix tags perform NO functions on the data member. You could put in the words, "Yippy" and "Skippy" and nothing will happen.
    Personally I use them to help remind me what the engineering units is for that particular vartiable. For example, I will put in GPM if it is Gallons Per Minute,
    or °F if it is a farenheit temperature.

  • Update function in logical data source does not get called.

    I created a logicial datasource that contains two functions, one read and one update. The test runs and returns the expected values, however the update is not actually updating the database. Any reason this might occur? Thanks.

    A common problem with this issue is that the datagraph that the client is sending does not indicate an update. Search for : testing update in ALDSP edocs, somewhere around the third search result there will be a document describing how to test updates - including how to capture datagraphs generated by the Test View. (search is broken at this moment, otherwise I'd give you the link ) Then you can make changes in the Test View, click on "Submit" and you will see the corresponding datagraph to make that change.
    At the very least, the datagraph will need an 'old value' in the changeSummary. For instance, the datgraph to change a customers first name from John to Jonathan would look something like ...
    <datagraph>
    <changeSummary ... >
    <FIRST_NAME>John</FIRST_NAME>
    </changeSummary>
    <CUSTOMER>
    <LAST_NAME>Smith</LAST_NAME> <!-- all the new/current values -->
    <FIRST_NAME>Jonathan</FIRST_NAME> <!-- the one that was changed - there is an 'old value' for it -->
    </CUSTOMER>
    </datagraph>

  • Can not retrieve data source status

    I have 3 DPS (6.3) running fine with 3 (6.2) DS downstream, running fine as well, on RHAS 4 U4 .
    I don't understand why the DPS console always report it can not retrieve the data sources status. I checked the DS access logs, and I see each DPS
    default monitoring request (on the "" DN) every 30 seconds, which returns one entry, and no obvious error in any DPS or DS error log .
    Any idea ?

    Hi,
    it looks like a a known problem to me that may appear in the following situation:
    In somes cases, the proxy and the DSCC (console) uses different hostnames: For instance, the proxy may be registered to the admin framework as myhost.sun.com and the proxy itself may use only myhost. Operation status is exposed by the proxy as an LDAP entry with dn cn=myhost,.....,cn=monitor. When there is a naming mismatch, the console search for cn=myhost.sun.com,...., cn=monitor and can't find the entry, so the status is unknown.
    Don't know if you are in this situation but it might worth checking this.
    Hope this helps

  • Dataguard - logical standby - need help - not updating data at commit

    Hi
    Need help ?
    We have logical standby setup where data is not updated at standby when committed at Primary. It only updates when alter system swith logfile.
    On Primary:
    log_archive_dest_2='service=xxStandby LGWR ASYNC valid_for=(online_logfiles,primary_role) db_unique_name=xxStandby'
    On Standby:
    we have already created standby redo logs ( 1+ # redo logs)
    we used ALTER DATABASE START LOGICAL STANDBY APPLY IMMEDIATE NODELAY;
    The data only ships when we do the ALTER SYSTEM SWITCH LOGFILE whereas it should so when data is commited on the primary.
    Is there anything we are missing or need attention.
    Please help
    Thanks you so much

    Yes, I have standby redo logs = ( 1 + # redo logs on the primary) and are of same size.
    I also changed the log_archive_dest_2 setting for valid_for to ALL_LOGFILES, but the performance is still very slow... we are now overr 9 hrs behind the primary.
    log_archive_dest_2='service=xxStandby LGWR ASYNC valid_for=(ALL_LOGFILES,primary_role) db_unique_name=xxStandby'
    The Logical standby performance reallly not good at all. trying to increase sga/pga more ... hoping this will speed up some

  • Please help if you can, my user ID will not log on and it has all my data in it.

    The primary user ID (an admin ID with all the valuable info I need access to) will not log on from a restart or initial power up. I was able to go into another user admin ID once and change its password which got me in once but now no passcodes will work.
    The primary admin user will not log on at all. it doesn't give any error messages. It just flashs for a moment and then goes back to the user selection screen. I have the same apple ID on my iphone and can access all iCloud items associated with it. Just the user won't work. Another admin user and guest user work fine.
    Before the user crashed we had some internet issues where it wouldn't log onto our shared network at our complex which has about a dozen registered users associated. Some sources have suggested that we were hacked and that security problems have shut down that user. We were in the British Virhin Islands when it happened. We are in the US now and the other user IDs are still working gone and the new Internet source was picked up through wifi without any trouble.
    There is is so much info In that user ID that we need access to. I tried to use timemachine through the other admin but it will not reset through it. I have an external HD time machine backed up as of Feb 15 which would get us back most of the data, but I can't seem to reload that info either. Should I wipe out the whole system and start again? Maybe just erase that user? I'm not sure how to even do that...
    thanks for for any and all assistance!

    Ensuring a Successful RAID Pair Rebuild
    RAID pairs will rebuild on the next reboot after you use the restore factory-default command, replace or add a hard disk drive, delete disk partitions, or reinstall WAAS from the booted recovery CD-ROM.
    Caution You must ensure that all RAID pairs are done rebuilding before you reboot your WAE device. If you reboot while the device is rebuilding, you risk corrupting the file system.
    To view the status of the drives and check if the RAID pairs are in "NORMAL OPERATION" or in "REBUILDING" status, use the show disk details command in EXEC mode. When you see that RAID is rebuilding, you must let it complete that rebuild process. This rebuild process may take several hours. **

  • Use member on data form does not work

    Hello,
    "Use member on data" option does not work on composite Data Form. Business rule associated with composite form.
    Who is resolve this problem?
    Version hyperion: 11.1.2
    Thanks

    I don't have a solution for you but more steps to solve the problem
    You are ultimately on the right track in some ways but break it down into it's components.
    The problem could like in the business rule, the form connection, the variables, even the order of operations could all be in play.
    So I would strip this baby down to its bare bones then build it back up.
    1) Run the business rule. Each one separately and only after the previous ones is complete without variables and without touching the form
    Is it successful: go to 2
    If it isn't successful: trouble shoot the calc and or try running in EAS natively to see if that gives you ideas
    2) Run the calc outside the form but with variables included. Did it prompt you correctly.
    Is it successful: go to 3
    If it isn't. What is wrong with the variable
    3) Now attach it to the form but don't hide the prompts
    Still good go to 4
    4) hide the prompts and run on save
    And if it fails on step four then it's not picking up the right variables in the prompt. And you need to look at why it wouldn't grab the right item.
    This will isolate your problem for you and give you steps to fix it. Ultimately 99% of the time something did change in the structure for example that is impacting the calc. And when you isolate the problem this will reveal itself quite quickly.

    Help!!! In the Quantities/Dates tab of Purchase Requisition is not updating the Quantity Ordered field if a Scheduling Agreement was created, no matter if have a Delivery Schedule or Goods Receipt, and in the Status tab is not updating the Ordered field.

    Ok, but you can create a Scheduling agreement whit reference a PR and the PR show in the Status tab the number of Scheduling agreement created and the total quantity ordered to date, but is not showing the data, and in the Quantities/dates tab of PR __is not showing the Quantity Ordered too_, that is the problem, however that is not happened if you create a PO.

  • How to compare substitution variable name to static member names (not data)?

    Is there a way to write a BSO member formula that compares a substitution variable against the name of a static member (not the data value of the member)
    For example, I have a BSO database that has the sub variable &CurrMth (which is set the real current month), and I am trying to use it in the Q1/Q2/Q3/Q4 member formulas
    IF(&CurrMnth <> "Jan" AND &CurrMnth <> "Feb")
       "Mar";
    The intention of the above is: if &CurrMnth is neither Jan nor Feb, then the Mar value will be used. However, the system is actually comparing the values of &CurrMnth and Jan/Feb, rather than the names/text string of "Jan"/"Feb".
    I have been looking around the tech references, but I was unable to find any functions that will compare the text strings of member names as they all appear to compare against the data itself.
    Please let me know if there are any ways to compare the member names themselves in a member formula, not the data values.
    Thanks!

    Thanks Celvin, that looks like it works!
    However, I do need to do the same function in the equivalent quarter members in our ASO cube as well. Do happen know know if there's a similar MDX function I could use in the ASO cube to acheive the same result? I was using the following to achieve this in ASO (which obviously did not work):
    IIF([Time Periods].[Jan] <> &CurrMth AND [Time Periods].[Feb] <> &CurrMth,
       [Mar],
