Mode changing broken constan
Anyone else getting this? It often happens when I use the Audio Creation mode (usually with Propellerhead Reason) and when I try changing back to Entertainment mode, it only resets back to Audio Creation. I can then change to Game Mode but again, Entertainment mode will not function. If I reboot I get Entertainment mode but then usually either Audio Creation or Game Mode won't switch on.
The only solution I've found is to reset the mode settings back to defaults and this is obviously a pain in the ass since I have to set all settings again.
Another problem I have is that Audio Creation mode has messed my presets and now they're just RMAA 644 or some other number and I can't delete them (clicking delete just shows an empty box). Any ideas for that? Where are the presets stored?
The user interface on these drivers is pretty horrible anyway: slow and awkward..why can't we just get some simply right click menu for changing speaker setups and modes?
Bump, any ideas?

Gnu readline with vi mode change visualization
After a lot of searching how to get some kind of vi mode indicator working with GNU readline I've decided to hack readline myself. It's working fine for me and because I'm happy archlinux user I've decided to share my findings here, so maybe somebody will find it useful too.
there is a patch to readline needed - I've created AUR package readline-vi-mode-changed-hook
additional logic / configuration to provide your visualization
To not double post what I've already wrote in more detailed way, here is the link to my personal blog where I've documented the whole thing.
There are however few things still bugging me and maybe somebody will be able to help me with that. The particular thing which I would like to solve is to get escape sequence for changing cursor color working inside screen and tmux. I've found trick for screen but what is expectable is that when switching windows the cursor color is not reset by screen to last color set in particular window. Because cursor color sequence is not really a standard nor part of termcap / terminfo I feel it will not be so easy / possible ?
Last edited by mirci (2010-10-11 19:26:06)Sara wrote:Am using this with GNU screen, and it works great (no change in cursor color, of course, but I think I actually prefer that, as it isn't inconvenient to look at the window title in DWM). Thanks for sharing the patch--I don't know how I ever lived without it
Well I started with the window title as I use Xmonad, then I realized that looking up or down on screen isn't very convenient for me (mainly because of a big screen I have) but it's still fine, so I was thinking about visualization which would be closest to the prompt location, cursor color was natural choice however it is not very reliable in terminal multiplexers and in general. The latest and my favorite now is the change of prompt itself (eg. bold version).
Anyway thanks for feedback, firstly when published this I thought nobody is using VI mode with readline judging based on almost no feedback at all. It's cool that at least somebody found this patch useful .

Would you be interested in porting this to NetBSD editline (libedit)?
Open/FreeBSD also use it, just in case that qualifies as incentive.
I don't use any application which uses editline. I know it just in the meaning that it is implementing similar functionality as readline do. I guess then some applications usually can be compiled with readline or editline (if author thinks it can be useful based on different licenses and so on) ... does the *BSD systems do it that way ? Anyway I have editline in my mind if I would maybe implement some application where I would need readline functionality. Readline is fine but to be honest I found the source code of it not very nice. So to your question ... as I'm not user of the editline so far I am not planing to port this patch there anytime soon.
Just out of my curiosity which let's say well known applications can be compiled against readline and editline, is it out of box provided by upstream or usually patches are done for it. How it works in *BSD then ? In my archlinux box I frequently use mainly 2 readline applications (bash, i/python). -

How to control item between Form mode change
Hi Experts
I am using B1DE to do something like some item's enable status will be changed following the Form mode change.
For instance, add a new matrix into system form, if changing the Form mode to Find, I want to disable this matrix, if changing to Add mode, the matrix should be enable.
Do you how how to do this?
Thanks
TimHi,
You need to capture Menu Event in your code and can make matrix either editable or non editable.
Sub MenuEvent(ByRef pVal As SAPbouiCOM.MenuEvent, ByRef BubbleEvent As Boolean)
Try
Dim oForm As SAPbouiCOM.Form = objMain.objApplication.Forms.ActiveForm
If pVal.BeforeAction = False Then
If pVal.MenuUID = "1281" Then // For Find Mode
//make matrix editable or non editable
End If
End If
Catch ex As Exception
objMain.objApplication.StatusBar.SetText(ex.Message)
End Try
End Sub

History Panel Option to ignore Layer Blend Mode Changes
Using shift+plus and minus keys to see various layer blend modes eats up my History. Not quite sure why it even records... you can't use the History Brush to "blend" previous blend modes. And it is not difficult to go back to a previous blend mode. I'd like to see a History Option to ignore Layer Blend Mode Changes, like you have for Layer Visibility Changes.
OK. Changes in the Blending Dialog don't record in History until committed. Thanks!
But I don't see a way to quickly go through the various Blend Modes like you can with Shift+ plus/minus keys. I really like that keyboard method to rapidly view and compare various Blend Modes. -
Question about X-Fi mode changes and relay clicks
Hello,
I've been having a heck of a time getting my new x-fi elite pro to work nicely in my computer (I have an MSI K8N neo4 platinum -- nforce4 chipset -- I'm aware of the issues). I kept having issues with the mode changer not working right about 50% of the time. Either it would stop recognizing my x-fi, or the SPI process would crash. In either case I could no longer change modes and the external box would stop working until a reboot. I tried many, many PCI slot swaps and driver reinstalls. Currently, things seem to be working ok (at least as far as mode switching goes...ASIO is another story) in that I can change modes without crashes...at least for the last half hour or so.
The only thing bothering me is that now, when I change modes, I almost never hear the relay click. Maybe out of 20 mode changes I get the click. Before, when the mode would successfully change, I'd always hear the click. Now, that's not the case. I'm wondering if the mode changing is really working correctly even though I'm not getting any crashes. So, my question to others is, when you change modes, do you always hear the relay click? I'm trying to get this all figured out before I decide to send it back. ASIO drivers work in creation mode, my cmss settings show up right in entertainment mode, etc...so maybe it's working right. I'm just not sure.
Thanks in advance.Nevermind.... I rebooted for the heck of it. The relays clicked every time until I went into audio creation mode and actually used the ASIO drivers. Then, I tried to switch back to entertainment mode and SPI crashed on me again. I think it's about time to send this thing back, I've wasted about 2 hours trying to get this thing to work right.
Thanks anyway. -
Mode Change 32 bit to 16 bit seems to be a bug.
When changing from 32 bit to 16 bit, CS5 opens an HDR sscreen and doesn't allow the change.Thank you!

Subject: Mode Change 32 bit to 16 bit
That's normal as 32bit contains way more colors than 16/8 bit so it opens up the HDR Toning dialog so that you can tell Photoshop how you want it to handle all those colors. The change to 16bit happens after you click on OK in that dialog. -

I have just installed a CEF720 8 port 10GE with DFC WS-X6708-10GE card in an existing 6509E Chassis and it shuts down due to inadequate cooling.
I have another 6509E Chassis with exactly the same setup and it works ok with that. Both are brand new.
The one transfers to High power mode and the other fails when trying to swap to restricted mode.

About the Fan Tray Mode: This high power mode may change to restricted power mode depending upon the environment temperature, the fan may be working at High or Restricted mode depending on the cooling needed at the moment.
Restricted Power mode: This is a default mode for a fan-tray operation. This mode ensures that there is an adequate amount of cooling provided to the chassis to keep its temperature in control.
High Power mode: This is another mode which is used for future line cards if there an increase in temperature due to addition of modules. In our case, this mode only gets in use when there is WS-X6708-10GE module inserted. Logs are getting displayed as new module is causing rise in chassis temperature and fan-tray has to accommodate more cooling thereby changing its operating mode.
The WS-X6708-10GE requires 84 cfm. Installing a second fan module in the chassis should bring the chassis cooling capacity up to 84 cfm per line card. WS-X6708-10GE is supported in non-E Series chassis at operating temperature up to 40 C only.
Hope this helps. -
"No Sound" on Cold Boots with X-Fi (warm boots or mode changes fix
I recently built a system with the following specs and the computer is ?Cold Booting? with ?no sound? in Entertainment Mode or ?Noise? for sound if the X-Fi is cold booted from Game Mode. A warm boot or Mode change usually fixes it but the problem comes back upon cold booting. The computer Specs are: Windows XP Pro. (SP2)AMD X2 4800+ASUS A8N5X nForce4 Motherboard (latest BIOS)Corsair TWINX2048-3500LLeVGA 7900GTX (latest Drivers)OCZ 600W GameXstream PSSound Blaster X-Fi Platinum (latest Drivers, etc.)
I have no IRQ Conflicts and the onboard sound is ?disabled?. The problem seemed to appear after a week or so working with the system. Everything else is perfect on the system and it'ss very frustrating to have this issue. I am not convinced that the sound card is bad, I think it'ss a Creative driver/software issue. Does anyone else have this problem and or is there a fix ?
!!! PLEASE HELP !!!EXACTLY THE SAME PROBLEM HERE!
I havent got another motherboard to test my x-fi xtreme music on, but it's a very frustrating problem, if i boot up from cold the soundcard is either not recognised or is recognised but there's no sound output.
My motherboard is ASUS P5E3 Pro,
Memory: 8GB OCZ DDR3 600
Cpu: x9650 extreme @ stock 3.0GHz
Psu: Coolermaster 850w modular
Gfx: HD 5770 (will be changing this to a HD4890 soon as it's rubbish)
Ive tried all sorts of combinations to try and get this soundcard working properly, stick of ram, etc... NOTHING WORKS AND IM ANNOYED!
Ive played about with just about every bios setting i can find (theres a lot on this board) and still no luck, i've got the latest bios flashed and everything is upto date, as a musician this problem is very irritating, having to reboot the computer about 3 times to get the sound working! even then theres problems with sound drop-outs.
Makes no difference if i use windowsXP or windows7 the problem still remains, i might ask asus to make a bios update for this problem because im not sure if creative have the answers. -

Hi,
Is there any way to capture form's mode change? (eg: from OK to UPDATE...)
ThanksAs far as I've tested (I'm developing it by now) you must coordinate some pieces:
1) First, your form must set AutoManaged="1" attribute
2) Second, every item which you decide changes your form status must set AffectsFormMode="1" attribute (for example, set to "1" for edittext, but "0" to folders because if you click a folder item it doesn't affect your data)
3) capture the itemevent and menuevent of this form, and check then form's mode property
I hope it helps, greetings

After dealing with the crackling and popping noises on my X-Fi for months, I decided to uninstall the Creative drivers and give a fresh install a shot. After installing the drivers for the X-Fi, my sound works perfectly, by my Mode Changer has disappeared. Is there some extra file I need to install to get it back that I haven't found? Please help.
Did you install all software from the installation CD or did you only install the driver from the website? If you had installed all the software and the Volume Panel isn't loading, try entering this command in Startup.
"C:\Program Files\Creative\Sound Blaster X-Fi\Volume Panel\VolPanel.exe" /r

In Portal Anonymous mode - Change password option not coming- login fails
Hi Experts,
We are having some application which requires login in anonymous mode. When we click the application and give the user id password, it loggs in properly, there is no problem in that.
But if the password is reset by administrator, then when entering the reset password given by admin it should ask to change the password. This is happening in normal scenario(/irj/portal), but when try the same in anonymous mode(irj/portal/anonymous) where the prompt is from the login required application, then it says login failed instead of giving the change password and confirm password screen.
Appreciate your help in solving this issue. I hope many would have faced similar situation.
Thanks
YusufHi Yusuf.
Do you use a standard or custom login module for your application?
More likely the used login module does not have a logic that handles such scenario as a change of user's password.
In this case you need to implement a custom module with a required functionality.

Saving Safe Mode changes.
Hello. I recently putchased a Samsung hdtv, and changed the screen resolution from 1920x1020 to 1024 x 758 within OSX once I did this the Mac would no longer display anything on the monitor. I rebooted to safe mode at 1920x1080 resolution with no problem. Since my resoltion in safe mode is 1920x1080 once again, shouldnt my monitor once again be displaying? Any help appreciated.
Just to be clear, I think that the "normal" mode of OSX is still in 800x600 mode. I thought that since the Safe mode is in 1920x1080 that the next time I boot in normal mode, that would as well boot in 1920x1080 fixing my no display problem.
