This is the information about Error 29
These errors typically occur when security software interferes with the restore and update process. Follow Troubleshooting security software issues to resolve this issue. In rare cases, these errors may be a hardware issue. If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.
Also, check your hosts file to verify that it's not blocking iTunes from communicating with the update server. See iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting—follow steps under the heading Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > Mac OS X > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store. If you have software used to perform unauthorized modifications to the iOS device, uninstall this software prior to editing the hosts file to prevent that software from automatically modifying the hosts file again on restart.

  • Recovery of Reminder on iPhone 3GS

Hi. I had very important reminders on the Reminders/to do list on my iPhone 3GS. Is there any way I can recover them? This is urgent!!!

Only an iphone backup from the time before you switched to the second computer could help. And it would only contain the photos taken with your phone ( camera roll) not the ones from the albums.

  • Jabra CLIPPER multiuse problem. (iPad 2, iPhone 3GS)

I have a three devices Bluetooth receiver "Jabra CLIPPER", iPad 2(4.3.3) and iPhone 3GS(4.3.3).
    So..
Jabra CLIPPER has a "multiuse function". It is connect to between two devices at same time.
(ex) CLIPPER connect to iPad 2 A2DP and connect to iPhone 3GS HFP.)
But, I can't connect two devices at same time in any way.
Jabra supporter explained to me howto below.
    1. Remove clipper bluetooth pairing history on iPhone 3GS, iPad 2
    2. Power off clipper
    3. Power on & pairing mode clipper.
    4. iPad 2 founded "Jabra CLIPPER" and touch to pair & connected. (1st device.)
    5. Power off clipper again. (Disconnected from iPad 2)
    6. Power on & pairing mode clipper again.
    7. iPhone 3GS founded "Jabra CLIPPER" and touch to pair & connected.
    (2nd device.)
    8. Do not Power off clipper & go back to iPad 2 Bluetooth Preference, select again "Jabra CLIPPER".
    9. That's all. You can use two devices at same time.
But.. I saw a popup messsage "Connection Unsuccessful". iPad 2 (1st device) do not connect "Jabra CLIPPER" again.
Jabra supporter explained to me again.
"What may be happening is that the iPhone is taking over the A2DP bluetooth profile, along with the cellphone profiles. The Clipper should connect the A2DP or stereo profile to one device and the rest of bluetooth profiles to another. In this case, the iPhone seems to be taking over all profiles when the pairing is established. In order to connect the Clipper with two different devices one of them must handle the stereo or A2DP profile, and the other will use only the HSP and HFP (cellphone bluetooth profiles)."
    Plz help me..

    Hi tagnee:
    The solution for your problem:
In order for the Jabra Clipper to be able to pair with both the iPad and iPhone, one has to first pair each device separately with the Jabra Clipper while turning off Bluetooth on the other device. Once pairing on both devices is successful, all you need is to connect both to the Jabra Clipper, and this was when I noticed a few hiccups.
In order for the Jabra Clipper to be able to connect with both the iPad and the iPhone, one have to first connect the iPad with the Jabra Clipper while turning Bluetooth off on the iPhone. Once connected successfully with the iPad, turn on the Bluetooth on the iPhone and press connect. It doesn't work the other way around, i.e. connecting the iPhone first and then the iPad.
If one steps out of range of the Bluetooth range of either one of the devices, one has to reconnect both devices all over again.
I hope this information is helpful.

  • Old version of Spotify on iOS 6 in France (iPhone 3GS)

Since Spotify update on Apple Store, it is impossible to install Spotify on my iPhone 3GS as it has to stay on the iOS6 . Do you know a way to run Spotify on iPhone 3GS (iOS6) ?

    Yes, your are right.
You can install the iBooks 3.1.3 in your iPod 4G, using iOS 6.1.5, through the iPod. However, Apple did not all the necessary job: when you syncronize the iPod with iTunes, iTune insist in update the app. If you forget that fact, iBooks is updated to 3.2 version.
So, actually the question is: How to block the update of iBooks permanently.

  • IPhone 3GS stuck in recovery mode while updating to iOS 6.1

Hello there, I was updating my iPhone 3GS(New Bootrom) from iOS6.0 to iOS 6.1. While it was updating, iTunes suddenly ends up saying error and now my iPhone is stuck in recovery mode loop. I've tried DFU mode on my iPhone and try to kick it out by using TinyUmbrella but the computer doesn't reconize it. And when it was on recovery, iTunes doesn't reconize too, a window pops up and says i have to install 'Apple Mobile Device'. I've re-install and install iTunes a couple of times and nothing is working. Switching on and off the iPhone doesn't work too. Please, someone help me with this problem! I really do not know what to do! Please reply this As Soon As Possible!

Ok. I have spent the last 8 hours researching this problem and have the absolute 110% answer to everyone's problem with this issue.
Error 13 and 14 : Are checksum problems with the firmware image that is in the update package.
The update package is a .ipsw (IPod or IPhone SoftWare). This file is actually just a .zip renamed .ipsw.
The error is caused by a failure to download a crc-free version of the file. Not really sure why there are so many crc problems with the iphone updates, but Apple does not check the integrity of the update package before wiping your current version of IPhone software and that is why all IPhones that start an update with a bad update package end up in recovery mode. These errors are NOT related to the iTunes installation, antivirus software, or firewalls.
Recommendation : use a program like "Object Fix" (Freeware) to verify the integrity of the file prior to commencing with any new updates. You will have to keep trying to download it until you get a error free file. Once you have a CRC error free file this problem will go away. (I thought TCP/IP helped get rid of CRC errors.)
I had another problem and that was...
Error 1603 and 1604 : These are USB driver connectivity problems.
Recommendation : FULLY uninstall and re-install itunes software as stated in the Apple support documentation. Be sure to reboot between each step and these problems should clear themselves up. In addition, firewalls and anti-virus software may cause these errors as well.
Finally, shame on apple for not properly documenting their software so that end users do not have to decrypt their error messages with no true support to solve the issues. These are problems that enough people have had that there should be specific documentation on these problems.

  • IPhone 3gs stuck in recovery mode, firmware iO 5

My iPhone is stuck in recovery mode. I have a 3gs, firmware 5.0.
Before I tried to restore it, my iPhone would randomly shut off, turn back on, and display a notification that said "Activation Required." Now, sometimes my phone would shut off again and return to it's previous working state. However, this time it did not. I put the phone into recovery mode and tried restoring it on my Acer Aspire 1 with Windows 7. iTunes put the phone through the various stages of restoration; Extracting Software, Preparing iPhone for Restore, Restoring Software, Verifying Restore, Restoring Firmware. After all of this, a nice little error message pops up that reads, "The iPhone 'iPhone' could not be restored. An unknown error has occured (1)."
After this little mishap occured four more times, I decided to click "More Information," and was promptly brought to the help page set up here. I proceeded to troubleshoot by updating to the latest version of iTunes, updating my security, restarting my computer, and so forth until all the necessary precautions were performed. Now it was back to iTunes to try my luck at getting my life back.
To my delight, I found that this time the restoration process took upwards of forty minutes to complete. However, to my despair, a nice little error message popped up that read, "The iPhone 'iPhone' could not be restored. An unknown error has occured (-1)." Ah, a different error message! i thought, feeling as if there was hope in fixing my phone. I clicked "More Information" and skimmed through the specific error messages, looking for that lucky -1. Nothing.
I need help. I have attempted to restore my phone a dozen times since this occurence, and I'm growing tired of going through the same process over and over and getting the same result. My phone is stuck in recovery mode now. I've tried restoring the phone on 2 different computers, to find out if, in fact, the problem was my iPhone and not my computer.
Some important information you may need to know in order to help me solve my problem:
    iPhone 3gs
    Running iOS 5.0
    Using iTunes 10.5
On an Acer Aspire One Netbook
    Running Windows 7
All security updates installed as of November 7, 2011
Also iTunes 10.5 on Acer Aspire 57354774 laptop
    Running Windows 7
Reply ASAP with a solution please!

I I tried on 3 different computers but same error. I really don't know what to do next...

  • My iPhone 3Gs is stuck in Recovery Mode. My phone has never been jailbroken. What can I do to get it out of the Recovery Mode loop?

My iPhone 3Gs went into Recovery Mode yesterday when I got home. When I plug it into my computer iTunes opens and gives me this message "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes." I click the "Restore iPhone" button and wait while iTunes reinstalls the software on the iPhone. As soon as the install is done, I get the same message again "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes." I'm stuck in a Recovery Mode loop. How do I get out?
This iPhone has never been jailbroken. After a litte research on line I saw some people got stuck in Recovery Mode after a jailbreak, but this is not the case here. Please help.

i also looked on youtube, google, and apple support and stores. but theres nobody who had this problem.
im trying to wait till the battery runs out but that will take long.

  • My iphone 3gs is stuck in recovery mode. i have tried to restore using itunes but it ends with a message saying there was an error and couldnt be restored

hi  desperately need help. my iphone 3gs is stuck in recovery mode... when i try and do the restore via itunes it goes through the motions but when it gets to the end it tells me there was an error and it couldnt be restored...  originally it was an ex contract phone that i had opened to orange from vodafone.. it was fine until i tried to do the ios 6 update

There is a way to get it recovered from the so called DFU mode. Try to restart the phone while holding the home and power button at the same time. Then try to connect it to iTunes and do the same again. If you try that again till it works you should be able to use your iPhone as before.

  • HT201210 Why can't i get my iphone 3gs out of recovery mode when i try to restore it?

    Hello People,
My iPhone 3GS has gone into "Recovery Mode" and ive tried to restore it. When it reaches the firmware it stops and my iPhone restarts and i get an error message saying "The iPhone 'iPhone' could not be restored. An unknown error has occured(1)." Ive tried putting it into DFU mode but it doesn't seem to work (its like it is in a loop). Ive tried different firmwares such as 3.1.3 and 4.1 and it still stops at the firmware section. The iPhone was new out of the box about 4-5 days ago and i get this.
Any suggestions please post below this thread.
    Best Regards,
    Kieran

You've just exposed your email address to millions of people, some of whom are spammers or worse. That was not a good idea. Expect a massive increase in spam as a result, unless the mods see it and edit it out of your message. You can only restore a 3GS to iOS 5.1.1. If you are trying to install an earlier version you must hack or jailbreak your phone; error 1 is usually an indication that the phone is jailbroken. See: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694#error1
