Model for WH scanning process.

Hi there All!
We're planning a scanning process for one of our customer, and would be beneficial to get some of your experiences regarding to scanning processes in WH operations. The idea is to utilize the scanning in inbound, outbound as well "in WH" operations. The emphasis is especially in managing the products serial numbers.
Have an excellent Summer everyone!

Hi Vijay!
Thanks for the interest on my issue!
We're looking into a barcode scanning utilizing. The idea is to follow the serial numbers of the customers products if possible through out the whole wh -processing. The problems are e.g. in what phase to read the barcodes into the system to optimize the workflow and avoid excess movements of the products.
Cheers,

  • Provide un-editable predefined action in Adobe Acrobat X for secure scan process?

    Hi Adobe Community,
we have a project where we want to use Adobe Acrobat X as Scan-Software for secure content. With the help of a predefined action, the scan gets directly encrypted.
This approach is only valid, if the predefined action (that defines the encryption settings including an encryption password) cannot be changed afterwards by the enduser, after the central IT has provided the action configuration to special workstations in a secure area. Is there a way to do this?
Since the password for the encryption is to be changed regularily, is there a way to rollout the the action configuration to the client PCs automatically (i.e. put the config file in a special directory on the client PC via network distribution, Acrobat automatically uses/detects this newly provided configuration). Is it possible?
    Thanks & Best Regards
    Kristian

There's no way to hide the password stored inside an Action (a .sequ file), it's just a series of XML commands. The storage format for security policies (.acrodata) does hash the password but there's no system for import/export of those policies unless you use a rights management server.
If you want to push a "read-only" Action to a deployed install of Acrobat, copy the .sequ file into the Program Files/Adobe/Acrobat XX.0/Acrobat/Sequences/ABC folder (where ABC is your language install, for example ENU). It will be read as a system level Action so the Edit/Rename/Remove buttons will be disabled, but they can still make a copy and edit that.

  • What's the best authentication model for a PRO*C process?

We presently have a system where 5 or so PRO*C-based processes on remote nodes (HP OpenVMS) connect to a database (RH Linux) using Oracle Client and insert data. The current authentication method is for the C based program to read a connection string from a file and use that string to connect via an embedded sqlplus call.
This works fine, however having the string contained in a file isn't all that great an idea, even with the protection we give it. It would be easy for a programmer to recompile & debug the process and read the string, so it's not really all that secure. It also just doesn't seem the best way to do this....
I know this isn't much information to go on, but can anyone suggest a better model for this scenario that avoids putting connection strings and passwords in a file?
    Thanks in advance

    thanks for your helpfull evaluation.
On the security question is it possible for you to use the Oracle Wallet ?

  • Error HRPAY99PM271 in Process Model for Offcycle (6.0 Upgrade Issue)

We have a process model for offcycle payments and need to change RPCIPE00 to RPCIPE00_OLD.  The first problem we had with this was solved by OSS note 1070580.  Now we are getting error HRPAY99PM271 (Parameter PNPPERID was not found in the selection parameters).  PNPPERID was not used in the 5.0 version of the process model, so I do not know why we are getting this error.  Thanks for any advice/ideas!

The process model was activated.  Thanks.

  • High level process model for a Pulp & Paper Industry

    Hi:
Someone can help me?, i'm looking for a organizational reference model for a pulp & paper company, under the alignment for best practices in to SAP R/3
I need know what is the best model for this kind company (chain value, macro process, business process, sub process...)
    Thanks in advance
    Omar Perea

    hi,
    thanks for yor points.
at that time it was opened.for me also it was warning  the same, any way iam providing some more info on it. pls have a look on it.
Pulp and paper industry facing IT modernisation needs
Today most pulp and paper industry companies face serious financial challenges to increase return on investment and improve capital utilisation.
Companies are working to improve the efficiency of their supply chains and thereby reduce working capital, increase transaction velocity and improve inventory turnover. Mergers, acquisitions and alliances are reshaping the pulp and paper industry. Although the pulp and paper industry has invested heavily in IT systems, a large variety of old systems is often complex, inflexible in regard to integration and difficult to operate. As they reflect past organisations and business models, the streamlining of business processes is difficult.
Mega trends in the pulp and paper industry IT.
The pulp and paper industry is stepping into a new phase of business evolution driven by consolidation of industry, globalisation and ever-increasing competition. These market drivers are forcing the pulp and paper industry to put a greater focus on cost efficiency. These focuses are creating totally new challenges for the organisation, specifically in the IT area.
IT is increasingly becoming a commodity. This is a result of product standardisation and the popularity of off-the-shelf-products that facilitate the economies of scale. This phenomenon is also supported by increasing utilisation of competence resources in low-cost countries.
Managing change becomes more and more difficult. Very often companies face the need for new changes before they have seen the benefits of the previous ones. The cycle of change is short and the transformation environment becomes very complicated. On the other hand, IT becomes the tool in forcing business changes to happen. Often the only practical way to roll out new processes and practices is through the modernisation of information systems.
Like many other industries, the pulp and paper industry is concentrating on providing digitalised self-services as part of their business development.
    Industry background
Since the consolidation and globalisation of the pulp and paper industry, there has been increasing pressure to continuously improve both its internal and external efficiency. In the large pulp and paper mills, production management systems typically consist of several different systems, which might also be from different suppliers. Systems are often isolated islands, which are successful in managing information of their own area but they lack the comprehensive information exploiting and sharing. This has resulted in a complex and inflexible architecture of legacy systems. These legacy systems are expensive to manage and difficult to develop to meet business requirements.
This pressure has led to massive IT investments and a continuous rebuild of the IT environments in order to meet efficiency challenges. Although many pulp and paper mills have invested a lot in building up their business supporting IT, especially Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, the return on investment is often difficult to measure. There is a lot of potential to improve usability of systems by harmonising business processes and integrating the systems more efficiently in order to better support actual business needs.
Most pulp and paper industry companies have thus come to a point where a more radical rebuild and renewal of the entire IT and network environment is required. Fortunately, the conditions for this have improved over the last few years, due largely to an increasing range of commercially available application platforms adopted for the pulp and paper industry, the acceptance of common industry standards, and the evolution of refined integration and migration methods.
Renewing and harmonising the company’s operations and IT systems is still, however, a demanding undertaking. Securing continuous operations, while at the same time replacing the core systems and processes, requires a high level of expertise in pulp and paper industry processes and information technology. To complement the in-house competence, the pulp and paper industry will need to establish partnerships with outside solution providers and system integrators. To minimise risks and keep control of business-critical technology, new delivery models will be a necessity.

  • Business Process Modeling for Online Mobile Solutions

    Hi,
I like to know what are the options available for business process modeling for online mobile applications? I feel Guided Procedure can be used for that but one issue is the standard GP Runtime view may  not be suitable for Mobile displays and needs to be modified. Is there any other option available specifically for mobile solutions? Also I read in one article in SCN about a product call Mobile Fast Track (MFT) which is supposed to be delivered on Visual Composer. Is it already available? If yes which release and how to get that?
Any pointers on these will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Dipankar

Hi Alvaro Hernán Rojas R ,
The product line is the hierarchy of the finished goods.
It is pertinent that the finished goods has emerged due to some process(es) carried on the raw material.
Thus logically you should map in solution manager based on the process only.
The macro process while depicts the processes at the highest level. The Business scenarios, Business Process gives a good idea about how you should go about configuring. The Steps/activities helps you to map in to SAP thro' T/Codes.
From the point of view of all of the below three, namely,
    Easy configuration activities
Easy design of Unit and integration test
Easy activities of Process enhancement and optimization,
the option   Map the process as ISO Standards
    - Several projects : For each product line, will be most ideal.
It is the processes that drives the activities. The control activities like internal control etc are all process based.Given these, divorcing the business process from the configuration -as in -is certainly not a good practice.
    Hope this helps.

  • Create adaptive web service model for a web dynpro project

I have been trying to create a new new adaptive web service model for a web dynpro project.I am using the URL of the wsdl file to create the model. I have copied the url link of the wsdl from the overview tab of the web services navigator. The web service works fine when tested through the Netweaver Navigator. This web service has also been used successfully through the Visual Composer. But when I try to create a model for this web service URL, when I click the Next button after entering the URL in the model creation wizard  step 4 , I get "Error loading wsdl file. Check error log for details" Given below is the exception recorded in the error log: (Infact, I get this for all wsdl URLs)

  • Sequential Instantiation of BPEL instances for a BPEL process

    Hi,
We are using Oracle SOA 10.1.3.4 & AIA2.5. We have a situation where the instances of a particular bpel process have to be executed in sequence. Also, the new instance should NOT be instantiated unless the previous instance is completed.
For example.. Lets say a SyncBPELReqABCS is invoking SyncBPELProvABCS via ESB. SyncBPELReqABCS is looping and spawning multiple instances of SyncBPELProvABCS in a certain sequential order in Asynchronous Fire-and-Forget model. Lets say bpel-instance#1, bpel-instance#2 and bpel-instance#3 are instances of SyncBPELProvABCS process. Even though SyncBPELReqABCS invokes (spawns) SyncBPELProvABCS in a fire and forget model, the bpel-instance#2 should not begin unless bpel-instance#1 is completed and bpel-instance#3 shuld not begin unless bpel-instance#2 is completed. This is because there is a dependancy between instacnes of SyncBPELProvABCS process.
Can this be achieved in Oracle SOA?? Can we restrict the instacnes of SyncBPELProvABCS to be created in this manner?
This is similar to "incompatability" of concurrent programs in ORACLE EBusiness Suite where one concurrent program waits till another concurrent program completes.
Please let me know if I am not clear. Appreciate an immediate help!
    Thanks,

    Hello,
Now that I look back at this tread, I can see that the questions I was asking and those of the original poster were somewhat different.
But they both fall under the heading of "Sequential Instantiation of BPEL instances for a BPEL process", and so I thought I would post some findings we've come across regarding that topic here.
There were a couple steps that helped us achieve the behavior we were looking for, and the were...
    1) Change the BPEL oneWayDeliveryPolicy from "async.persist" to "sync"
This can be done in a couple locations. The first is within the EM application that comes bundled with SOA 11g, and the place to go is:EM > [farm name] > SOA > soa-infra (right click) > SOA Administration > BPEL Properties > More BPEL Configuration Properties > OneWayDeliveryPolicyOnce that value has been changed to "sync" (without the quotes), you'll need to stop and start the managed servers that run your SOA instance(s).
As you might expect, making a change at the "server level" like this impacts the default behavior of all composites deployed within your SOA instance. The second place to make this change - within the deployment descriptors for your BPEL process - impacts only the BPEL process that is being modified. To make the change at this level, you would edit your project's composite.xml file and, for each BPEL component, specify:  <component name="BPELProcess1" version="2.0">
        <implementation.bpel src="BPELProcess1.bpel"/>
        <property name="bpel.config.oneWayDeliveryPolicy">sync</property>
        <property name="bpel.config.transaction">required</property>
</component>What does this change do? Well, I don't claim to have a complete understanding, but in theory it prevents a thread handoff from taking place between the service that is initiates your BPEL process (like a receive) and the actual BPEL engine thread that processes the request.
In our case, where calls between (and within) composites were all of the synchronous "fire and forget" variety, this change also caused the entire processing of a message (across three different composites) to happen in a single thread (each message handoff was one-way, and with the oneWayDeliveryPolicy set to "sync", each was handled in a synchronous manner).
This also seemed to have the effect of serializing our message processing. For example, in a test case where a BPEL process reads from a JMS queue and 250 messages are enqueued, with the oneWayDeliveryPolicy set to "async.persist", I'd typically go in to EM and, on each refresh, find 5-8 instances of the composite that processes those messages to be in a "Running" state. Once the change to "sync" was made, I'd only see at most only 2 (where one had actually already finished; the audit system just hadn't yet caught up to that fact yet).
This also means that, with a "sync" delivery policy, messages (at least in our environment) are processed more slowly, but that was ok with us as we were more concerned with the behavior than the speed.
For details on this and other BPEL deployment descriptor properties, see:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17904_01/integration.1111/e10224/bp_app_deploydesc.htm
Also, it's important to note that making the above change will alter the boundaries of your transactions as well as how faults are propagated. For more details, see:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17904_01/integration.1111/e10224/soa_transactions.htm
    2) Front BPEL process with a Mediator object and enable message resequencing
While we're using the above change as a standard practice in our environment, this second change has only been nominally tested - but it could be of interest and so I'll mention it here.
Once you've updated your composite to include a mediator object in front of your BPEL process (if there isn't one there already), edit the .mplan for your mediator and change the "Resequence Level" from the default value of "operations" to "component". Then change the "Resequence Mode" from "off" to "FIFO" and specify an X-Path expression by which the mediator will be able to group your messages. This will help ensure that the messages are being processed in the order you expect.
More information about resequencing within the mediator component can be found:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/integration.1111/e10224/med_resequencer.htm
Hopefully the above information is useful - if not for the original poster, then for someone who comes along later with similar questions.

  • In what situation i can go for the BPM process?

    hai pals,
i wld like know in what kind of situation we will go for an BPM process for message transfer.
    with regards,
    rajesh.

    Hi Rajesh,
BPM process is a very useful tool as the name suggest ccBPM when ever you want to model your soultion hitting different systems, Also helps in controling and  monitoring complex integration solution process.
As it uses SAP workflow engine behind it is very effective in building complex soultion.
        some simple scenarios could be
Wait for more than one input and start your integration process..
Raising alerts, exceptions and so on...
    cheers,

  • Training a ABC Data Mining (DM) model for a Web Template.

    Hello All,
I need to create a Web Template that uses the ABC web item. This Web Item needs a "trained" ABC Analysis DM model. The only tool that I know of that can "train" a DM model is the APD. However the APD does not support the ABC DM as a data target. Is there any other way to "train" a ABC DM model ? Or are there gaps in my knowledge ?
    Dorothy

    Hi,
Being new to mining you have really set off on a ambitious mining project :)
    Couple of technical pointers:
*1) Version of Data Miner being Used*
You are using the original Data Miner release.
I would download the latest SQL Dev release that contains the current Data Miner client and repository installation.
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/sql-developer/downloads/index.html
SQL Developer 3.2.2 RTM Version 3.2.20.09 Build MAIN-09.87
Drop the old repository and start with this latest one, assuming you are just getting started and have no significant mining worklows created.
You can always export the workflows to disk if you want to import them to the repository.
Alternatively you can migrate the older repository, but I would avoid unless you really need to, as it requires Data Miner to hold on to some older repository definitions.
    *2) Handling of text*
It seems your primary source of data for the clustering process will be the cs_uri_query.
You might find better results processing it as text data rather than as categorical data.
You can use the Build Text node to transform cs_uri_query into a nested column that contains text tokens.
    *3) Methodology definition*
This is probably your biggest challenge really.
What is the overall methodology to produce the desired result.
You stated your objective is: develop an intelligent recommend model based on queries recorded in the web log
Once you create clusters from this data, what are your next steps?
What type of recommendation do you want to generate?
    Thanks, Mark

  • Any RunningApplications-like function for non-windowed processes?

Am I missing any RunningApplications-like function for non-windowed processes like Unix executables? To start with I'd settle for processes in user-space but would ultimately like to list processes like Activity Monitor does. Even comparing RunningApplications results to user space Activity Monitor results will show the difference.
As far as I can tell you need to go all the way down to kauth and kernel space to watch for non-windowed processes being launched. Is there somethig in-between I'm missing? A notification device about launching apps would be perfect if it cover all processes.
    Thanks,
    =Tod

I think kqueue may be able to do what you want. Look at the EVFILT_PROC filter. You may have to watch a number of processes - perhaps all of them. But that would tell you any time you get a fork and whenever a process is reaped.
I looked at kqueue at it does what I want but you need to register it on a by process/file basis which is great for a very specific set of things but not for overall system watching. (I also looked at fsevents but it is designed as a post-event notification system.) While NSWorkspace has the usual Cocoa model notifcation willlaunchApp, didlaunchApp, etc it seems that you need to get the kernel to watch the launch lifecycle of non-windowed functions.
I actually did manage to get a comprehensive list of running apps out of parsing sysctl output with much less trouble than I expected. So far I have managed to get the pid, uid and abbreviated processname and the list seems to match the Activity Monitor list - at least at this testing printf stage. Getting the username from uid should be trivial and the full file name is doable it just requires some struct length and offset math. I'd like the launch path information but I can live without it for monitoring purposes if I can't figure out how to get it.
This means that the monitoring part of the running system seems relatively straight forward - wrapping the call in an NSTimer and watching for changes in the returned results. But the watching of the actual starting and stopping of all processes remains some deeper work.
    Thanks for all the suggestions,
    =Tod

  • Use of Aris models for Guided Procedures or VC possible

    Hi,
I know that Aris can export BPEL for importing to XI.
What are the capabilities of using Aris for NetWeaver to model for more UI-oriented processes.  Is it possible to use ARIS models for GP or Visual Composer?
    Thanks.
    Dick

    Hi David,
The answer to your 1st question is NO. Till NW 7.1, there is no clue on this.
To your 2nd question, there is no noticable enhancement on the GP side in NW 7.1. You can refer to the Developers Guide -> Developing and Composing Applications -> Designing Composite Processes with Guided Procedures section in  <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce10/helpdata/en/44/D958673EF05F4DE10000000A11466F/frameset.htm">SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment Library</a> for further reference.
    Hope this helps.
Finally I fully agree with you regarding XI and GP.
    Regards
    Nilay
