  • Action Cam HDR-AS100VR can't record XAVC-S format, memory card incompatible?

Hello Sony, I've just purchased POV action cam HDR-AS100VR and I want to record XAVC-S format for a smooth and clear output. My initial micro sd card is class 10, 64GB scandisk ultra which I coud'nt useit  to record XAVC-S format because of low read/write speed. So I decide to buy a new memory card, I found a 64 GB Scandisk Extreme Plus with 80Mb/s read and 50Mb/s write. I thought that was enough speed for the cam to record XAVC-S format, but the cam flashes MEDIA when I set it to XAVC-S format. I also tried reformating the sd card to exFAT, but still no luck. Any idea why? is my new memory card(almost US$100) not fast enough for the cam? If you can give me a list of memory card that can actualy record XAVC-S format on this cam will be big help.

    Hi Naz,
This error happens when using a memory card that is not fast enough to record the data being saved by camera. An SDXC Memory Card of Class 10 or faster is required to record using the XAVC S format.
You just need to try other microSDXC card with a faster  write/read speed.

  • Sony Action Cam (HDR-AS10 or HDR-AS15)

The new Sony Action Cam(s) (models - HDR AS10 & HDR AS15) were just released a few days ago...Any idea when Best Buy will stock this product in their inventory? Both are available via Sony's website, Amazon, and even 3rd party vendors, but Best Buy has yet to have any info on it. I tried calling customer service, but they were unable to provide me with a date. Anyone? Thanks in advance.

    Hi m4siuda,
I did hear back on this, and all I can say is I wouldn't expect us to be carrying these in our stores in the near future. They might be available on BestBuy.com relatively soon, and the best I can suggest is to keep checking back.

  • I have a sony handy cam model HDR-HC1 and a mac pro running osx10.9.3, are they compatible? as far as downloading movies from my handy cam. thanks in advance

i have a sony handy cam model HDR-HC1 and a mac pro running osx10.9.3, are they compatible? as far as downloading movies from my handy cam. thanks in advance. If not, is there a different route i can take to get those recordings in to my mac pro?

See if the cam shows up under Devices in the Image Capture app.
Image Capture is located in your Applications folder.
Launch Image Capture then connect the camera.
The camera should show up under Devices top left side of the Image Capture window.
Now look at the bottom left side of the window. Click the: Connecting this (device) opens: pop up menu and select an application to import your photos.
You can also select a folder to import photos from the Import To: pop up menu.
Selet the photos you want to import then click Import or Import All on the right.

  • Sony hdr-as100v action camera

I have a sony hdr-as100v action camera that i want to download pictures and videos from.  Sony manual says to download "PlayMemories" software and use, but it will not load.  My MacBook Air system is OS 10.6.8.
I am not sure if IPhoto will recognize and serve as the application for the camera.
    Any suggestions or experiences?
    SG

Doubtful iPhoto will recognize the camera but there's a workaround. Use the Image Capture app in your Applications folder.
Launch Image Capture then connect the camera to your Mac.
The camera should show up under Devices top left side of the Image Capture window.
Now look at the bottom left side of the window. Click the: Connecting this (device) opens: pop up menu and select an application to import your photos.
Alternatively, you can also select iPhoto to import photos from the Import To: pop up menu.
Selet the photos you want to import then click Import or Import All on the right.
More help is available from the Image Capture menu bar. Click Help > Image Capture Help

  • I have a sony hdr td 20ve 3d video camera. Is it possible to import into iMovie 11, edit and export in 3D? I have an iMac 2008 model running Lion 10.7.4

Is it possible to import 3d from the Sony 3D videocamera, model HDR TD 20VE into iMovie 11, edit and export the files to iDVD and produce a disc that plays on a 3d compatible DVD player?

Yes, you can purchase Lion as well as iPhoto and iMovie from the App Store. But before you can do that you must update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 by installing the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 update. Then you can sign into the App Store with your Apple ID and password, locate the items you want, purchase them, and download them to your computer.

  • HT204368 I have a Contuor action camera, I can't import the software to my phone as it is not compatable with safari

I have a contour action camera but I can't download the software to my phone as it is not compatable with Safari. Has anyone got a way to solve this problem?

What model TC is this? How old and on what firmware?
Do a full factory reset of the TC.. they do not like a change of setup.
Remember changes to router require a power down of the modem for long periods.. maybe 30min maybe longer.

  • Charging a Sony Action Cam

OK to charge a Sony Action Cam (4K) by plugging the Micro USB cable (included with camera) into an apple adapter model A1385?

Hi there, MXB! I highly recommend that you charge your Sony Action Cam with the original charger that came with your unit, or an other genuine Sony charger that fits in your Sony Action Cam to charge it. Using chargers from other brands is not recommended, as they might cause damage to the battary pack and/or the Sony Action Cam. Best regards,

  • Action cam mount problems

Hi there, I ordered 2 x mounts (EEACTTIP ACTION CAM ADAPTER MOUNTS) from your web-sit, They arrived today. The problem is, they are the incorrect mounts, you are sending out the packaging mounts- the ones that hold the camera inside the packaging box when you receive it.I just spoke to your distributors (Kondor) and they confirmed someone else had phoned up with this issue earlier, and there product control guy had looked at the product and confirmed this issue.Last time i checked a few minutes ago, they were still available to buy- and Kondor confirmed to me that they do not have the correct product in stock. So there is going to be 100's of these coming back. This needs to be sorted. I purchased this camera on contract to go alongside my ee phone data plan, with the intention of taking it to mexico for diving in 3 weeks, i need these additional mounts. Are the correct mounts going to be available, or is this a huge manufacturing error? Kind regards, Jamie Wiles

    Hello bekti-bsd
The HP Action Cams all have a feature that can invert the picture orientation for using it as a dash cam.
HP does not have the specific manual available as you have noticed but the setting will be similar to the other models.
Look at this link for the ac200. It will give you an idea what to look for.
Scroll down the page about half way to the Settings Screen Display Information and look for the Up/Down arrows to set the orientation.

You camera menu may not be exactly like this, but you get the idea.
    Hope it helps.

  • Action Cam AZ1 out of focus

I recently bought the Action cam HDR AZ1 and im having this issues: Cant focus faraway objects, about 2meters (without case, out of water), only focus really close objects, about 10 cm. The video and photos are blurry. Any idea how to fix it?

    Hi,
I would like to ask for sample videos of the issue that you're seeing when shooting with your respective action cams. It would help us assist you better with this issue.

  • Corrupt Files on 4GEE Action Cam

Hi Friends I have this 4GEE Action which to fair is usually a fantastic bit of kit, except I keep running out of data from streams but thats another story. Recently Ive been usng it with a 64GB Samsung SD Card and have done since having it. For some reason all my recordings past a certain point are corrupted and wont playback on quicktime or VLC (I should point out im using a Macintosh) I have re-formatted the card and that seems OK, Reset the action cam and that seems OK as well. The camera does pick up the full 7hrs of recording time and the 16K+ of photographs so clearly the memory is readable on the card. Is anyone able to shed some light on this? I go on a diving holiday in 10 days so would love to work this out. Many thanks for any help you kind people push my way.

ive got the excact same problem

  • 4GEE Action Cam file splitting

Hi all,  I've just purchased one of the new 4GEE action cams and am using it out running or cycling. If i'm out for any length of time then the camera is splitting the video up into roughly 12 minute segments. Is there any way i can turn this off so that the entire video is recorded to one larger file as I have plenty of room on the memory card. EE said it was to do with protecting people's data allowances but I have my data turned off and I'm not streaming anyway. Thanks in advance

Hi   (and , ), I checked in with someone on our Action Cam team and found the information below. I hope it helps! Let me know.
The camera supports FAT32 which is basically how the camera more efficiently stores memory. We’ve designed the camera so it splits files every 2GB of data making it easier for customers to download each segment. The camera doesn’t stop recording but for example an 8GB card would have 4 split files making it easier to download and edit those files.
So - I'm afraid you can't switch it off, as it's not a setting that can be changed. Unfortunately not. It’s a software thing so not a setting that can be changed.
Will that work out ok for you in the end ? Your feedback using the Action Cam is really useful so if there's anything from your experience which I can pass back to the team - I'm all ears!

  • Oregon Scientific ATC5K action cam - does it work with iMovie / Leopard?

I'm looking at getting an ATC5K for a skiing trip but the specs say it is only compatible with OS X 10.4 (Leopard) and below. Can anyone confirm if it works ok with 10.5.x and iMovie?
    Thanks

I've just got my ATC5K and I can confirm that you can import the AVI file format from it into iMovie without converting into a DV stream. iMovie will not pick it up automatically, you have to use the import movie option, but it works fine. As an aside, iPhoto picks it up automatically and treats it as a camera movie which at then end of the day I guess it is.
For a cheap, entry level action cam it's pretty good and I can't wait to try it out in anger on slopes!
