Asamd1st, it appears that this is a memory error. I suggest removing the memory and reinstalling them one at a time. Then, boot to see if the computer runs properly. Do this with each stick.

FredSince that indicates a memory problem, it would seem that would be where to start. First try to re-seat the memory modules (with the computer turned off). If that does not help, make the Ultimate Boot CD (with another computer) and then boot to it. Run the memory testing routines. MemTest will tell you which module is failing, if you read the results properly as it runs the testing routine.

Notebook with blue screen of death and HP Ceement errors
Hello, I am using:
Product name: HP Pavilion g7 Notebook PC
Product number: QE310UA#ABA
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Service Pack 1
I have been having a few message/errors lately and suspect they are related
1) The "blue screen of death" has shut down operations a few times now, that I have seen. When it reboots, all my passwords are gone, all new log ins are required. I know it's been happening more than I see because my passwords will dissapear while I am away from my laptop and I had not seen it.
2) Error message "HP CEEment has stopped working, windows is looking for a solution to solve this problem", comes up a lot. Daily, usually twice at a time. I googled this and a few "answers" said to look at your firewall and to "allow" HP Ceement. I called Norton and they showed me that it is allowed, so they are not the issue and to contact HP, hence why I am here.
3) Not sure if this last one is part of the issue, but it has come up more than once lately. Error "Your current settings do not allow file to be downloaded". I ssupect when the computer reboots after the blue screen the security is automatically heightened and that is why I got this, as well as loose passwords and a couple other "secruity level" type problems.

Excerpted:
CEEment stands for Customer Experience Enhancement. CEEment (HPCEE.exe) is the reporting tool that HP uses to collect and study anonymous data. You can activate CEEment when you set up your computer. Or, you can activate using HP Advisor or HP Support Assistant at any time.
Commentary
It might be that the CEEment program is not the direct cause of the problem, that is, the issue might be symptomatic of the underlying problems -- it may be part of the train wreck, so-to-speak.
In any case, while the system is up and running you can try the following to fix the issue or to at least try to eliminate the CEEment program from the mix.
Download Install a new copy of the latest version of the HP Support Assistant on your system:
HP Support Assistant
If you have ‘Admin’ control, you may highlight the package and “double-click” to install it, else Right-Click, Select run as Administrator and install.
Reboot the system
If you like, you can switch OFF the CEEment program and the other checks that HP Support Assistant performs on your system.

You may want to create an extra / new account with administrator privileges on the computer in case the issue is related in some way to your account.
You do want to make sure you have your personal data backed up -- make an extra effort to make sure your critical data is backed up somewhere other than on the computer. Make a copy of those files to a USB drive or to the Cloud. Make sure you include your bookmarks.

Blue Screen of Death & disk0s2: I/O error
Hi
My Mac just slowed down suddenly yesterday, then when I tried to reboot, it went to grey screen Apple logo & spinning ball for ages, then stalled on blue screen.
I tried the following:
1. Ran Applejack 3 times on auto - said "errors repaired" or "no errors"
2. Restarted with Leopard Install disk & repaired disk with Disk Utilty - said "no errors"
3. Reset the SMC
4. Tried to reset PRAM, but Mac just booted to blue screen
5. Deleted Preference Panes in Library like Application Enhancer.
6. Booted in verbose mode to check for error messages
7. Tried to re-install Leopard with "Install & archive" but install quit after 30 minutes, saying hard drive may have errors.
8. Tried to re-boot from install disk, but wouldn't reboot.
In verbose mode, I noted some of the messages:

During the last Applejack, I got this message:
Incorrect block count for file kdc.log (It should be 50 instead of 26)
Some of the other forum threads I've read suggest that the hard drive is bust, but I was able to search for programs & go anywhere in the directories in single user mode. I was even able to delete Application Enhancer prefPane. Surely, I wouldnt be able to do that if the hard disk was bust?
Any advice?cannot run on Snow Leopard.
If you are running Snow Leopard, you need to correct your system information as it currently shows you are running Leopard.
Apple's Hardware Test is not found on install discs. Just the discs that came with your computer - system discs.
I can't tell if you are experiencing hardware or software issues or possibly both.
Part of your original post indicates possible directory issues. DiskWarrior will clear that right up.
If you live near an Apple Store, they can run a few diagnostic tests to let you know what the problem is for free.
For a small handling fee, you can get system discs directly from Apple. You'll need to have the model and/or serial number of your Mac available.
Since you live in the UK, you may need to go through the regional Apple Store that serves your location to find the contact number -

Blue Screen of Death - Smax4pnp.exe app error
When I boot my T61 I get the "Smax4pnp.exe app error" and then later get the BSOD with Invalid_work_Queue_Item or no character string like the previous.
I ran MS Security Essentials and it found two or three Trojans & removed them.
Any idea what is causing this? Is my sound card dead?A couple of things to try:
Run some other malware detector. Malwarebytes (frree) has done a good job for me. There are others.
Go to device manager and uninstall your sound "card". Reboot and let the driver reinstall. If it doesn't (or if the problem persists) download and install the latest driver and sound app.

Recently I rebuilt my PC to handle after effects a little better. I am running CS3 on windows XP 64 bit, however once I start working on a project for less than 30 minutes my system locks up and brings up the blue screen of death. It gives me a "Page_Fault_in_Nonpaged_Area" error. I ran several memory tests (all passed) and even messed with the page filing with no luck.
The strange part is that when I switch over to my dual boot (windows vista 32bit), after effects works fine. Just not as fast. I reformatted twice with no prevail. I am really out of options here. If anyone can please offer some help i would really appreciate it. THANKS

Motherboard: Gigabyte S-series Ep45-Ds3RWell, not sure, what actually the error is. If it's a "Could not allocate memory for textures", you could try to increase the RAM usage for OpenGL in AE's preferences (Advanced button on the OpenGL page). However, AE is pretty stubborn in recognizing this, so it may not do anything. For most other errors, you will have to deal with the graphics card driver's settings on a manual basis, meaning you will have to create a custom setup. That is however beyond what this forum can provide, as it would require to know the exact current setup and driver options... What you definitely can do is check the overall video RAM allocation, meaning how much of it is already used in the initial config. This will give you a clue about how much is left for applications. I'd also completely turn off antialiasing. As I remember it, most ATI cards have the bad habit of having it enabled by default. This might also free up resources. The rest is in the dark. There certainly are ways to toy around with the front and back buffers and drawing delays, but as I said - without actually seeing what's going on, this is not going anywhere. And don't worry about your RAM and page file swelling - this is normal behavior and should not touch upon your other issues. Remember: Each and every frame you render, if only for previewing, will be stored in your RAM as long as this is possible. Windows in turn will park more memory pages in the swap file to compensate, hence the simultanous growth of both graphs.

Today, when I was running Adobe Photoshop, my computer suddenly froze and some colors on the screen became "corrupted" (some yellow dots, lines and patches appeared throughout the screen). After the computer did not respond after 5 minutes, I then held down the power button to force a restart. When I tried to start it again, the HP logo appeared as usual, then came the black screen with the flashing in upper left corner (a little longer than usual I noted). Then came a screen where I was allowed to choose between, run startup recovery or normal mode. I chose startup recovery. A windowed showed which displayed "Windows is Loading Files" and a bar began filling up. Then the screen turned blue and I saw command prompt flash several times in upper left corner for fractions of a second. Then, without even the recovery window showing, a blue screen of death appeared with the code bearing "0x00000050" PAGE FAULT IN NON-PAGE AREA. This screen hung until I pressed the power button and the computer obeyed. I then began to use several other options that I hoped would fix it, Safe Mode, Last Known Safe Configuration, System Restore, though they all went back to the same "Windows is Loading Files" page. I noted that went I tried to launch from "Normal Mode", the BIOS screen would appear, then after the computer would display another Blue Screen of Death with the more famous code "0x0000007B" INACESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE. Could someone please help me? I do not have that many important documents on this computer and I am willing to reboot it though I do not have any disks. Is there another way I can reinstall WIndows Vista? If there is a way that I can recover my files, that would be better. Thanks.Update: I went into BIOS Setup Utility and performed a Primary Hard disk Self Test. Although the test didn't finish, it stopped with this message "#10009- Replace Hard Disk". I do not really want to order another hard drive, does anyone have a solution?

Forgotten Restrictions Passcode Help
You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.

Blue screen of death on Toshiba P755-S5375 with ADOBE ENCORE CS6
I recently purchased a new laptop and installed Adobe Master Collection CS6. I purchased the laptop for video capture and editing, as well as for blu-ray authoring.
Unfortunately, although the computer and software works fine for video capture and editing, I am unable to author a blu-ray. For authoring, I am using Adobe’s Encore CS6. After checking and previewing my creation, I attempt to build to disc using Encore. About 2 seconds after clicking the build disc in Encore, I get the “blue screen of death” (BSOD). This happens every time I try to build to blu-ray (only blu-ray has this issue; I am able to build to a DVD). I am using an external blu-ray drive on USB 3.0.
I am using Encore version 6.0.0.492

You can prevent the rapid disappearance of the blue screen during a normal boot by choosing this at the F8 Startup menu.

Blue Screen of Death -- Datebook gone, Addressbook in danger
Having some major addressbook/datebook issues with HotSync. I am using a Handspring Visor (the original, old model), Palm Desktop 4.0.1, Windows XP Home. I have not updated any of the hardware/software lately.
A couple days ago, when I synced my Handspring Visor, I got the dreaded "blue screen of death." I rebooted my computer, and then found that the Palm Desktop program wouldn't load. It gave me an error saying the addressbook database could not be opened. The sync log also gave me a series of messages like this:
"Some handheld records were not copied to your PC. Your computer may be full or you may have reached the maximum allowed records on the desktop. To correct this situation, delete some records and perform a HotSync operation again." (Below, I've pasted in the full log from the last couple days so you can see exactly what I mean.)
This morning, I synced the device again, thinking that perhaps the addressbook file had become corrupted and that a sync would clear things up. The answer was ... anything but!
I was able to get the Palm Desktop software to reopen by renaming "addresss.dat" to "address.dba." However, two major problems:
1) The addressbook on my computer is totally blank. There are three files in the "Address" folder with these extensions: .aba, .dat, and .bak. All of them are only 1 or 2 KB in size. However, this isn't a total loss because my addresses seem to be intact on my handheld.
2) My datebook has lost ALL data I've entered since roughly January 2008. All my previous years of calendar entries seem to be unaffected. This is the scary part because my handheld AND my desktop both have this problem. I tried the solution of renaming the datebook.bak file to datebook.dba (and giving the current file a .old suffix), but that did not fix the problem. Both files are 355 KB in size. I've also tried setting up a new users and copying over both these files one at a time, but that didn't fix the problem either.
Sadly, I was a fool and didn't backup my Palm files after the blue screen of death the other day; I didn't do it until AFTER that second sync this morning where my datebook data got lost.
Basically, I'm pretty sure I'm screwed about the datebook files. However, I would like to make sure my addressbook doesn't get erased from my handheld. Before my next sync, I feel like I should set the HotSync conduit prefs for addressbook to "Handheld Overwrites Desktop," but I thought I'd get some feedback from y'all before I did that. I am also really curious why I'd lose SOME of my calendar data but not ALL of it? That's the weirdest part to me.

Post relates to: Visor NeoWhen you sync the device to Palm desktop a file is created on the first sync with the extension .dat. When you sync the second time the data in the .dat file is copied to the .bak file. The process is cycled in that order. Each time you sync, the files are overwritten. If you sync once and notice the data is gone, don't sync again because the .bak file should have the recoverable data.
When you rename the files to recover your data you need to rename the files in the following order.
Close Palm Desktop, rename the .dat to .old. Next rename the .bak file to .dat. Reopen palm desktop and see if the data is there.
Try this and see if you can recover the data.
Here is a method for saving your data in a seperate location in case you lose data again.
The best way to preserve your data is to export the data in each category in Palm Desktop to a seperate folder on your PC.
Create a new folder on your PC somewhere that is convenient. Name it something like Palm Desktop Data. CLick on the link below and follow the instructions on that page for the export procedure.

With the data saved in the folder you created, make a copy of that folder and save to a flash drive, cd-rw or external hard drive. Anytime you make a change in Palm Desktop, export the data that was changed to that folder and save again to the external media.
With this process you can always import the data back into Palm Desktop anytime you have a problem with the data in Palm Desktop or if your computer/hard drive/device crashes.

Blue screen of death when building blu-ray in Encore CS6
I recently purchased a new laptop and installed Adobe Master Collection CS6. I purchased the laptop for video capture and editing, as well as for blu-ray authoring.
Unfortunately, although the computer and software works fine for video capture and editing, I am unable to author a blu-ray. For authoring, I am using Adobe’s Encore CS6. After checking and previewing my creation, I attempt to build to disc using Encore. About 2 seconds after clicking the build disc in Encore, I get the “blue screen of death” (BSOD). This happens every time I try to build to blu-ray (only blu-ray has this issue; I am able to build to a DVD). I am using an external blu-ray drive on USB 3.0.
I am using Encore version 6.0.0.492

Followup: MachineOwnerCreate an ISO (Encore) or folder on your hard drive (Encore or Premiere Elements) and then use the FREE http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download to write files or folders or ISO to disc for DVD or BluRay (send the author a PayPal donation if you like his program)
Imgburn will read the ACTUAL disc brand from the disc, which is not always the same as the box label (Memorex is notorious for buying "anything" and putting it inside a Memorex box)
When you write to disc with Imgburn, use the SLOWEST possible speed setting, so your burner has the best chance to create "good, well formed" laser burn holes... since no player is required to read a burned disc, having a "good" one from a high quality blank will help -
WiFi Wireless Setup Wizard produces Blue Screen of Death on Officejet Pro 8600 Plus
The wireless setup wizard on my Officejet Pro 8600 Plus is failing immediately after "scanning for networks". I get a blue screen of death with error message B8494B00, followed by "turn printer on and off" with flashing screen.
I bought the printer about one month ago and it has worked perfectly so far. My Apple Time Capsule failed yesterday, so I bought a new one (latest model) and had to set up the wireless network again. When I tried to do so on the printer, I got the error for the first time. Nothing else had changed. Other devices are working with no problems on the new network. The computer is an Apple iMac running OS Mountain Lion.
I have tried turning the printer on and off, disconnecting the power and reconnecting, then turning it on again, but no result. I have restored the wireless to factory settings, but no difference.
Please help.Right off I have to tell you I do not "speak Mac".
I assume the "Apple Time Capsule" is a name for a network router? A syncing device?
Unless I am mistaken:
You do not need the Wizard to set up the network -- it is pretty software for an HP PC; when it works, it can make things easier. The setup Wizard is not necessary for the process. I should think this is true for the Mac.

If you cannot get someone from the Printing group to answer your specific concern,
you may have succes with the following:
The User Guide has pretty good detail on how to set up the networking necessary to get the printer connected to either a PC or Mac environment. Assuming you can get the printer to "Reset network settings" (User Guide, page 222), then you can re-enter the information you require manually. It is a bit tedious, but is may work better than fighting the Wizard.

You may be able to circumvent sone or all of this by reinstalling the Full Feature Software for your printer -- that assumes you are first able to "reset network settings", at least, and get a printout test page to verify that the reset actually worked.

Hardware Acceleration Causes Blue Screen of Death - Resolution?
My computer running Windows 7 64 bit started crashing with Blue Screen of Death when Viewing YouTube videos or other videos like The Daily Show. The "solution" was to turn off hardware acceleration.
The crashing appears to have stopped, but now the video quality is degraded and jerky, to the point that the video can just freeze while the audio continues. So either I crash or I have poor video playback.
Has anyone found a solution to the BSOD that would enable me to re-activate hardware acceleration?
Symptoms with hardware acceleration enabled: Computer will crash after playing a handful of YouTube or other online Flash videos. Exact number of successful playbacks varies, but it will usually crash somewhere around the sixth playback (I cruise YouTube the way other cruise Wikipedia.) The screen will first flash black on one video, and when the next video starts, the computer crashes.

10.6.2 Died - Blue screen of death for Snow Leopard?
OK. I upgraded Tiger via the SL Boxed Set yesterday. The install went pretty flawless - no hiccups or issues at all. It is a clean install. I had cloned Tiger to an external USB drive - that's why I'm able to type this message now. I upgraded to 10.6.2 this morning and still everything seemed fine.
I had the migration pretty much complete. I was getting used to some of the new features, I had moved/installed everything, etc. I have played games, used mail, internet, photo software, etc. with no problems. Today while using the computer, I noticed I would attempt to start a program, but the icon would just bounce in the dock and would not open. The programs that were already open were working fine - Safari, Apple Mail, and Google SketchUp. So, I finished up what I was doing and restarted my computer. That restart was the last time I ever saw the 10.6.2 desktop.
Upon reboot, I get the Apple logo with gray screen, then the blue screen, then it freezes. I disconnected all connected devices (USB/Firewire, etc.) and unplugged for 30 minutes - no luck. Booted from the SL CD and ran Disk Utility. Disk Utility found no errors and said all was great! I verified the disk and repaired it even though it said it didn't need it. Still no luck. Just the blue screen of death.
Any ideas where to go from here? I can boot via my USB external drive with 10.4.11, but that doesn't really correlate to my problem. I REALLY don't want to have to reinstall everything all over again - it took me ALL DAY to get it all moved over and I still have some to do. Thanks for any tips or tricks.

It might help to understand that the procedure affects primarily OS files, for instance by replacing the existing copies of the binaries the OS contains with fresh ones from the installer disc. It does not affect user created files & settings at all, except possibly for some system-wide settings that might have become corrupt. It won't affect third party items either, except that it may move a few of them known to be incompatible with Snow Leopard in a root level "Incompatible Software" folder, as explained in Mac OS X v10.6: About incompatible software.
So, the most likely cause of your problem was a damaged or missing OS domain file that the installer replaced. How the file got damaged or which one(s) were involved is hard to say. Some third party software can do this, especially hacks & so-called system enhancements that ignore Apple's Developer Guidelines for appropriate entry points into the OS. Improper shutdown, like from a sudden loss of power, can sometimes do it. User error may be involved, especially if you use the Terminal to modify system files & settings or otherwise make changes to the root level folders normally managed by the OS (/System, /Library, & the ones not normally visible from the Finder). -
Persistent blue screen of death problems on Toshiba laptop pc; need help

I was hoping you could help me out here. I have been experiencing persistent blue screen of death problems on my Toshiba laptop since December 21 of 2014. The first two times I started having theses persistent issues, I downloaded a bunch of redundant programs and games onto my computer, some of which were virus infected. I had these programs on my computer for a while before my laptop was taken in for repairs. I eventually uninstalled some unnecesssary programs from my pc, hoping it would have fixed these issues, even tried windows update. I didn't have a clue that my problems were due to virus infections/malware until the two most recent times my computer was taken in for repairs; I had always been thinking it was a defective driver. My laptop has already been in for repairs at least twice due to these perpetual BSOD problems; I had Norton Internet Security installed on my pc before the Geek Squad team (who repaired my computer and found 312 traces of malware in my system during the virus test; I was told by them that I had mistakenly downloaded infected web browsers onto my pc) switched me to Webroot SecureAnywhere (they said it was better at detecting viruses/malware than my NIS), but even after my pc has been through repairs twice in a row, I am still experiencing blue screens (this only seems to have happened once each week, and on one occasion, I went through almost two weeks without it occurring). I am pretty sure, that I haven't downloaded anything onto my computer infected with viruses/malware (each of the scans done by my Webroot antivirus have found nothing), I have only a few games/apps installed on my pc, and what I downloaded all came from Microsoft's official website. I can't afford to be wasting any more money on repairs, and I am desperately searching for any possible way to fix this myself. Any help would be appreciated. I have a copy of two of the memory dumps from my most recent crashes (I also have the dump reports from my most recent crashes dating back to March 6; I got these from an app from NirSort called Blue Screen View, if you need those) I also have my system specs:

Note that many of these earler dump reports (the ones from March) came from viruses. The ones from most recently as last month, I am not sure about.

Thrashing about this way gets us nowhere.
Best to restore the hard disk to its original out-of-the-box contents.
Settings > Change PC settings > Update and recovery tab > Recovery tab > Remove everything and reinstall Windows
Use the freshly restored machine for a day or so before any installations of hardware, software, or updates of any kind. If you get no crashes, the problem is not likely due to hardware.
Then add updates and other things slowly, keeping track of them. If you get crashes after that, give us the corresponding dmp files.
