Creative used to have a nice site with technical datasheets years ago, perhaps they can point to a more current list with PCI cards. If you are looking for info on a specific ISA card, that site has been archi'ved here: Audio technical data sheets

My router's model number is listed as WRT54GS on the top and WRT54G v.6 on the bottom. There are two different (I assume) firmware upgrades listed for both numbers. Which one should I use? According to the information on each firmware upgrade, I must be sure to use the correct one.

check the serial no if it starts with cgn, it is wrt54gs, if it starts with cdf, it is wrt54g, you are welcome

Does anyone have a Soundblaster X-fi Fatal1ty FPS soundcard that has a model number SB0

I have had a replacement soundcard sent to me which Creative diagnostics says is an X-fi Fatalty ExtremeGamer Pro with a Model number SB0460 and serial number MASB046654900897C . The origional soundcard that I sent for a replacement was a soundblaster X-Fi Fatalty FPS soundcard with a model number SB0466 with a serial number MASB046654800429F.
Creative Labs returns department?advises me that the replacment soundcard is the same as the one I returned because the serial numbers both start MASB0466, however Wikipedia advises that the model number for the replacement is incorrect http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Creativ..._Model_Numbers. Does this seem correct? Does the model number mean nothing and the serial number advise the type of soundcard I have? Hmm.. weird. I also have a X-Fi Fatalty FPS Pro and it's also the SB0460 but my serial number is slightly different.

How to get ipod/iPad Model Number(Order number) programatically?

Tried out getting it using IOKit framework but could retrive only first 5 digits i.e "MC540".

Generally, Apple refers to it's systems by what part of the year they are released, ie early - mid - late. Some people do provide the model number when they post questions, however, generally, the time of year and year released equals the model number.

Xperia Z1 charging issues/ model number not listed in SUS

Hi there.
My Mothers Z1 (C6903) appears to be charging irregularly after being in for repairs for a broken screen. For example it will not charge when powered on, expect on occasion when plugged into computer, and has a 50/50 basis of charging when powered off and is quite slow at charging too, it is good that it charges when switched off, however this is not convienent for her.
I've read some previous threads and they recommended to use SUS to update the phone, however in SUS's list of phones, it does not include my model number: C6903, i wanted to ask the people here whether it would be safe to use another xperia Z1 model listed in SUS, and wether they have any thought on the issue.

Sorry for the late reply.
I took it to the shop in town, where the broken screen was fixed. When the man had a look at it and plugged it in, the phone started charging no problem what so ever. When switched on, it had no issue with charging either, i felt abit dumbfounded by this because it really was not charging over the weekend at all. I took it to the local 02 shop in town too, to get their advice and tried charging it there too. Without fail, it charged.
Over the week it's been charging no problem and seems to be functioning properly.
As much as this is good news, i'm still confused as to why it wouldn't charge over the weekend, but as soon as the guy at the shop tried, it worked.

i have purchased a Compaq Presario cq61 on the 24/07/09 (uk date) it came with vista home premium and it is in the eligible list on the hp support site for the windows 7 upgrade, but when i enter my serial number and product number into the arvato site, it says "We are sorry, but the Model Number you have entered is not listed in our database. " i cannot see how this is possible as i meet the specifications to be able to upgrade to windows 7, what do i do?

Well, let's hope that nothing was jiggled out of place when you were installing the new hard drive. Your optical drive may just be out of alignment or the disc you have is "dirty." Get a lint-free cloth and some rubbing alcohol, then clean the disc as thoroughly as you can starting from the center and working outward in a concentric circlular motion. See if that helps. In particular clean the inner portion well.
If this does not help, then you have a problem. You have opened the computer yourself. That action voids all support from Apple. If you take the computer in for service the store may refuse to service the computer. This is not related to your now expired warranty.

Trying to purchase some additional RAM for my daughters iMac on the stealth. I have the model number #A1174 and the basics - like it's a 20", 2.0GHZ, and that it came with 512 MB installed - can anyone tell me by looking at the model number if this is one of the new Intel Duo Core machines? I want to be sure and order the correct RAM.

For the money, right now there are tons of the 512MB modules of 667MHz SO-DIMM memory being offered on eBay by individual owners who are upgrading their Intel-based iMacs, MacBooks, MacBook Pros and minis, any of which RAM will work in your iMac. Due to the quantity being offered, one can be purchased for a fraction of the amount as new, usually no more than $35 total, including shipping. Many of them have even been removed prior to ever being used.
There are not too many similar 1GB modules available, although some MacBook Pro owners of the new Core 2 Duo are replacing one of two of their base 1GB modules with a 2GB module (the result being 3GB of memory). Those modules will work problem free in a Core Duo.
For quick purchase of best quality, in fact, one of the best current prices appears to be a sale price with free shipping from one of the four main memory suppliers to Apple - U.S. based Micron, whose fully owned subsidiary Crucial retails their memory to the public at crucial.com. Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself independently backed up against loss. To use a device with a different setup you transfer the old library from a computer or a backup directly to the new setup, not the device to the library. Media syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchases which can be transferred to a computer.
