Model Organization

PD provides at least below 2 ways to organize the Logical or Physical Model, namely use of Diagrams and Packages.
I have been using packages within a model to organize my models into subject area that allows me isolate each functionality and also manage it for working in a group and also print a model in subject area. I then use the default Diagram of the model file as the place to organize the Entity/Table at a summary level and all these are shortcut to Entity/Table.
The challenge with this is that I have to keep updating the summary models made of shortcuts as i make changes to model and new Entity/Table are added. The good part is that I just have to make changes to the Entity/Table once in the model and all the Shortcuts reflact the updates. I can also list all Entity/Tables in the Menu|Model option and this lists out all the objects and the property 'Object Type' can distinguish if the entity is origianl or a short cut and visually the entity Icon has a little shortcut symbol at the botom left corner, this way I know when i am dealing with a shortcut.
However, I think Diagrams can help me NOT constantly updating the packages and the summary view and still organize the model into Diagrams as subject areas and only deal with selected objects in each of them. but the challenge is to visually and in a listing be able to distinguish them.
Does any body have any idea as to how to handle this scenario?

Modelling organization as supplier and using in ASCP

Bit lengthy problem but Interesting : Please read on .,
Following is the org structure:
OU1 - Plant D (destination plant)
OU2- Pant S (source plant)
The plants need to be in 2 diff OUs so that invoices can be made.(within single OU its not possible)
We need to have IR/ISO setup so that the implementation is seamless and easy to use.
Plan owning org is Plant D (dest) and though we will be including we should not consider BOM explosion and res const etc in the plant S(source) and there will be a separate plan run there.
I tried modelling the same with assigning supplier name and site to the plant S(source) say Supp A and Site A.
However following are the issues:
1. The supp A and Site A details need to be given in supplier defn in OU2(source plant's OU)
Though in supply demand form in ASCP I see in sources tab :org id (Plant S) , supplier name :Supp A and site name: Site A,after req import and implementing it as PO, the ship to Dest becomes the OU2 and not OU1 as expected.
2. How to prevent planning for the BOM/Comp / Resources at the Plant S(source) level in the plan owned by Plant D (dest) ?
Are there any pointers to use both simplicity of IR/ISO and not planning for source plant as well ?

Customer is created using T-code XD01 / VD01, whereas Vendor by using XK01. Both will have different No. range if you set properly.

How to copy organization / party in HZ

Is there any API that would help me to copy one party record into another new? I am not worried about the customer accounts inside party, just need to copy party and attributes and relationships.
Is there way HZ_PARTY_V2PUB. CREATE_ORGANIZATION or hz_cust_account_v2pub.create_cust_account can be helpful here to accept existing party_id and create new party?

Copying Inventory organization, copies only the following:
When you copy an organization, you specify what setup data to copy to your new organization, including:
a)Organization definition
b)Shipping networks
c)Hierarchy assignments
d)Bills of material and bills of material parameters
e)Departments, resources, and routings
f)Items and item attributes
The Subinventory, Locator, WIP Parameters, WIP accounting classes, Planning Parameters, and Shipping Parameters data from your model organization are
always copied along with the other setup data select. You will be able to change the costing method. But it has to be done before entering transactions.

RAR: Automate Simulation Reports

Hello dear experts,
The Customer has the following role model:
- Organizational Roles - access to Organizational structure
- Functional Roles - access to transaction codes
These roles are not bound using Composite roles. Customer maintain a kind of matrix with possible roles combination that allow to be assigned to users.
Because there are no composite roles, these combination can be only tested for SoD using simulation on test users. Simulation could be done manually in RAR.
The question is how to automate this simulation?
May be using web service call from external system?

Hi Anton,
Yes there are webservices which you can use for that. The procedere is quiet the same, as using the CUP (Compliant User Provisioning).
The process there is similar, before you provisioning the roles, CUP is going to check with RAR, if there any SOD violations.
If you want to can use it foryour simulation as well.
You will find this in the webservices configuration.

We are deploying IPhone model 4s in our organization and we want to have a Global addressbook. I have setup with Google using Gmail and accessing the contacts however this provides a two-way sync. I need the setup to be a one-way sync from Google to IPhone only!

Number range of BP in the Organizational Model

I created in the transaction PPOCA_CRM my Org.Model when i save de data the system assign a number of BP to the unit, but i have two different Number Range; one to create BP's type 3 that is internal range and the second one i want to use for de Organizational Model but when i save de data the system assign the first one. (Note that the second one is internal too)
Do you know any transaction where i could configure what number range the system have to take when i create the Organizational Model??

Hi Susana,
Unfortunately there is no unique transaction that allows the system to distinguish between CRM Organizational Unit and Business Partner assignments. Transaction BUCF is the transaction that you would go to create the number range assignments to busines partners. Whatever range you designate as the Internal Standard Grouping will be used to assign Org Unit BP Numbers as well as other business partners that utilize internal number assignment. What happens is that once you designate an internal standard group assignment in CRM that number range will be used for all assignments whether that is for Business Partners, Org Units, etc. You do not have the option to create multiple Internal Standard Group references.
If you have a requirement to assign a unique number range to an Organizational Unit different than the business partners you create, some development will be necessary. I'm not sure how complex this will be, but I can imagine it won't be easy as you are restricted to only one internal standard grouping. Hope this helps.

Business Partner in Organizational Model Missing

I have added an Org Unit in Development Server and the ID and BP number is generated.
I have Transported from Dev to Quality server by using RHMOVE50 to move the org unit.
The Org unit and ID are transported successfully but the BP number is missing.
Note: Earlier for all other Org Units in Qulaity the BP Number exist.
Please prove me solution and points will be rewared.

Hi,
Apart from the above steps given by others you can also follow these steps as they did work in my scenario, this generally take some hours for the system to generate the BP ids so its better to schedule these activities in the evening so that when the Ids would be visible the next day I dont know whether this is a standard but this did happen in my case as i had to create the org structure twice so i had this experience twice.
Scenario when the buffering is not done and the Business partner id is not getting created in ppoma_crm
Check Settings for Attribute Maintenance
Check the consistency of the attribute assignments to the organizational units.

Setup Buffering for Sales Scenario
Report HRBCI_ATTRIBUTES_BUFFER_UPDATE is used to buffer the attributes of organizational management objects. To enable buffering you have to maintain view T77OMATTR.
Enable Buffering for Sales Scenario
1. Access the activity using the following navigation option:
Transaction code OOATTRCUST
2. Select the structure node Scenarios.
3. Check the checkbox in the column Buffering for the scenario SALE.
4. Choose Save.
Update Buffers for Sales Scenario
1. Access the activity using the following navigation option:
Transaction code SA38
2. Call transaction SA38.
3. Select the report HRBCI_ATTRIBUTES_BUFFER_UPDATE
4. Select the checkboxes for Delete All Buffers and Restructure buffer on Date.
5. Choose Execute (F8).
In note 737315 further details regarding this topic are described. Note you can also schedule a job in transaction SM36 to run this report regularly.

Customer name is not updating in Organization model

Hi All,
One employee is created with the name "test customer" in ECC and it is assigned to organization model in CRM. After that the the employee name is changed fom test customer to __customer test. Now same changes is updating in CRM but not updating in Organization model?
can you plz tell me why the employee is not updating in Organization model?

Hi
The changes to the business partner data flows through the middleware in run time.
But if you assigned the user with some initial name as XYZ. Then change the name of the business partner to X1Y1Z1, then you need to remove the earlier entry in the name of XYZ and assign the new entry X1Y1Z1 manually.
As a standard, it will not update the name in the organisational data in CRM.

I create my organization model from transaction ppoma_crm.
Now I think that I must assign business partner to organization units (first level support, second level support ..) but I can't do it.

Organization of Models in ESR via SWCV

Dear Experts,
I am trying to understand what is the best approach to organize our design objects in ESR. My current strategy up to now consists in having 3 different Software Component (SWC)/Products one for Sender, one for PI objects (mapping..) , Receiver) (interface objects). Now i try to integrate in concept the models. I decided to use Process Component Model (PCM) as the Process Interaction Model as I can generate out of this the interface objects.
But now I have a problem with my concept. I have added the PCM for the sender in the corresponding SWC. Now I want to make a reference to the PCM of the receiver to model a sync interface i can not assign the objects from the receiver as the objects are in another SWC.
I also can not put every model in the same SWC because then the assignments (creation of objects) are all made in the same SWC.
Now I am not sure if the concept is wrong or if there is another solution to integrate the models into the concepts?

Hi all,
the approach works, even with some restrictions.
So I created SWCV A and defined dependencies in ESR to SWCV B + C. A contains common objects (mapping.. models), B+C sender and receiver specific components.
When you create the model you can create the service interface in the underlying SWCV. But if you want then create the operation you must first activate the service interface to be able to create the operation out of the model. And activation is not possible as, when you create the Service Interface you already has a faked operation created which you normaly delete when you create the real operation, but you can not activate the service interface as the faked operation does not contain any message type. So as a workaround you have to assign a faked message type to the faked operation -> aktivate the service interface and then you are able to create the real operation in the service interface.
I am not 100% sure if that is really wanted or I still have choosen an approach which works but which is not really Best Practice... anyway if there are no further coments i thing i will go for it.
Another doubt arose during configuration of the prototype: What is the diference if i define the Software Dependencies in the ESR or in the SLD? I checked for documentation but only found explanaitions in the online help about how to create the dependency in the SLD. For me it is more comftable to create the dependency in the ESR. Is there any impact (transport...)?

Organization - BP in Org Model

Hi,
I want to set up an org model so that whenever I create an org unit the corresponding BP gets created automatically.
I checked the IMG in CRM.
The entry ORGEH PROLE BUP004 Role of organizational unit in business partner is there.
But when I create an org unit the corresponding BP is not getting created. What should I do?
