  • Adding Nikon D750 to Camera Model list in CS6 Lens Correction (Windows 7 64Bit)

How do I add Nikon D750 to the CS6 Lens Correction filter's Camera Model list? (Windows 7 64Bit) I'm running ACR8.7. By default I get the adjustments for the correct lens but with a D3x body. Using the search online tool doesn't find anything.

User lens profiles in program folders will be ignored, so the first four you list, starting with Program Files and ProgramData are only for Adobe-supplied profiles for the particular version of product you're using.  There are .lcp files in those program folders, the ones without Downloaded in the path, anyway, but they have to be Adobe profiles.  Each version of Camera Raw and Lightroom knows exactly what profiles to expect and will ignore any others.  A few years ago that was not the case, but it is, now.
The last path, beginning with Users and ending with Downloaded is where user-supplied .lcp files should go.
If you want to zip up a profile and a raw file you feel goes with it, and upload to http://www.dropbox.com and share a public download link, here, then maybe others can verify if those profiles work for them or not.

  • Pentax Lens Model Data in Aperture

I have finally figured out how to get Aperture to display Lens Model EXIF data for Pentax cameras.
The problem is that Aperture is looking for that date in one specific field, but Pentax stores it in another. The solution is rather like what we did back when Aperture could not import PEF files. Using exiftool, it's possible to copy the the lens model data from the field Pentax puts it in to the field Aperture expects to find it in.
This is a procedure you can use (a) for importing new pictures and (b) modifying selected pictures in your Aperture library.
Assuming you've installed the exiftool library, here are the steps I have used successfully:
    1. Have the pictures you want modified in a folder +in your user folder+. For this example, we'll call the new folder "lenschange." These might have been exported from a project or imported from a camera. I have verified this works on PEF and JPGs.
    2. Open the terminal and type the following command exactly except put your actual user folder name in place of "YourUserFolderName":
    exiftool '-Lenstype>Lens' /Users/YourUserFolderName/lenschange (hit return)
It will take exiftool a while to do this. It will open each file, move the lens model data, and write a new file, renaming the old one with _original at the end of the filename.
    3. Import the new files into Aperture wherever your want them.
You should now see the Lens model data in the "Lens Model" field for the EXIF data.
Clunky, yes; but if you really want that data visible in Aperture, this is (for now) how it has to be done.

clawhammer, OMG that is VERY strange. Given what I have read like using exiftool in terminal and sRGB vs adobe profile that this works is odd. Obviously the theory that Aperture is looking for the lens info in the wrong place is not totally true.
Here's what I did with one Pentax. pef image. In the adjustment HUD in the 'RAW Fine Tuning" brick (Aperture 2.1.2) I switched from 2.0 to 1.1 then back. For a very quick moment I saw the lens info appear in the metadata for Lens. But it went right back to blank. BTW the 1.1 image was awful (green!). So I tried the same thing with 2.0 to 1.0 and back. This time it stuck and I can see the lens info "smc PENTAX-DA 50-200mm F4-5.6 ED".
To me this is very weird. Obviously it is there somewhere AND accessible to Aperture but either Apple or Pentax is screwing up. Now this is only one image but now I'm thinking can I use Automator or AppleScript to run through my whole library to make the correction (man this would take a lot of time). And then how could I automate this on download.
I'd be forever grateful if either Apple corrected what now seems like a very simple problem or some script guru solved the library conversion and the download issue with a one step process. Clearly the info is still there so HEY APPLE FIX THIS!

  • Lens Model

Just purchased a new lens (Canon 24mm 1.4L II) and imported some photos into Aperture 2.1.4.
I use the metadata field for Lens Model in some albums, but what I just noticed is that the Lens Model for this new lens simply says "24.0 mm" and not the full name of the lens. This is not the case with any other Canon lens I own--including some images I have from an older version of the same lens. All the others have the full name of the lens in this field. Anyone else having a similar issue.
I've already tried the update EXIF from master.

    Thanks for the responses.
I think I've figured this out. My camera (Canon 5D) recognizes all lenses by name, as long as the lenses were in production before the latest firmware update. For the 5D, the latest firmware update was the 1.1.1 early in 2008. My new lens (24L II) was introduced after that and therefore my 5D will require a new firmware update in order to recognize the name. The problem has nothing to do with Aperture. I downloaded a trial version of Lightroom and imported some photos in there--same problem.
Does anyone know if Canon ever updates firmware on cameras that are out of production--like my 5D?

  • Lens Profile Sony DT 3,5-4,5/16-80 ZA

    (created using my a700)

Hi Paul.  I would very much like to take advantage of your hard work in creating this profile, but I was wondering if you could respond to three questions.  First, is the Sony model number of the lens this profile applies to a "SAL1680Z."  Second, is this a RAW profile or a JPEG?  Third, while your message indicates that the camera body used for the profile was an A700, the camera model identified in the script appears to be a NEX-5 . . . can you explain?  Thanks in advance!

  • Can I have the camera lens replaced on my phone?

Hi all. The lens on my camera is scratched, can I get it replaced somehow?? Can I do it myself??
Thanks so much, have a great day.

Apple does not service components individually; all service is a replacement of the iPhone with another unit (usually refurbished). They would probably replace your iPhone, but at a cost ($199 to $299 US, depending on the model). There are some independent sites that purport to offer a repair, or that will sell a new lens (search the web for something like "iPhone repair" or "iPhone parts"). You have to take the case apart which will probably void the iPhone's warranty.

  • Export a raw file to jpeg losses lens information

When I export a raw file to jpeg it losses the lens information.

    Ernie,
I have never paid attention to those tags on exported JPGs before, but I have recreated the scenario you described.  I have a Canon XTi, and my CR2 master files have about 12 more EXIF tags than the JPG versions.  Excluded in the JPG is the lens model.
However, the lens information for my camera is Canon proprietary tags.  That is, the general EXIF lens tags are not populated by my camera, so I would not expect them to be translated to regular EXIF tags by Aperture in a JPG.  I.e., I don't think Aperture will take metadata from one proprietary tag and put it in the place of another standard tag.  I suspect that is the same is true in your case.

  • Lens correction

I used to have a long list of lens for my Nikon in Lightroom. Now I suddenly am back to a list of about 8. I am up to date on LR. Any suggestions?
    Thanks, Shirley

If you have changed file format e.g. jpeg/tiff, raw / dng, the choice of lens models available as possible lens correction profiles changes.  Could this be the explanation?  See http://forums.adobe.com/message/3196109#3196109
    Why is a different question.

  • Lens Correction Profiles: Unable to locate matching profiles automatically

In LR3, I can't seem to load the auto lens correction profiles for my Canon lenses, many of which should be readily available. I used the 24-70L 2.8 USM lens and the 50mm 1.4 lenses on a recent shoot and the profiles can't be found. Is there a place to download the stock LR3 profiles to enable this option? I'm not that interested in making custom profiles at this time.
    Here's what I'm seeing:
    Thanks for any help.

The lens profiles coming from Adobe should be installed automatically when installing LR, no need to install them seperately. You can check for files named
    Canon EOS-1Ds Mark III (Canon EF 24-70mm f2.8 L USM) - RAW.lcp
    Canon EOS-1Ds Mark III (Canon EF 24-70mm f2.8 L USM).lcp
    Canon EOS-1Ds Mark III (Canon EF 50mm f1.4 USM) - RAW.lcp
    Canon EOS-1Ds Mark III (Canon EF 50mm f1.4 USM).lcp
    in the folder
    WinXP:
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe\CameraRaw\LensProfiles\1.0\Canon
    WinVista or 7:
    C:\ProgramData\Adobe\CameraRaw\LensProfiles\1.0\Canon
    Mac:
    Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/LensProfiles/1.0/Canon
These are the profiles provided by Adobe for the lenses you mention. If they are there, something seems to be wrong in LR recognizing your lens. If they're not, try reinstalling LR3.

  • Lens Correction Question

Well, I am happy to report that I completed an "optimize catalogue" and my Lightroom 3 appears to be working faster.  Fantastic.
What I don't get now has something to do with the Lens Correction module.
Here's my example.   When I select "Enable Profile Correction" the software correcntly picks out the make and model of my Nikon lens.  Great.
However, previously, I was noticing that under "profile" it used to give me the Nikon D3X ... lens ... etc etc info.
I no longer get that.  All my photos are profiled using the "Adobe (lens Nikon etc etc)"  profiles.  When I click on that box, there is no option to use the Nikon profiles.
Question:  Is this an issue I should be worried about?  I have noticed on various tutorials that the Nikon and Adobe profiles differ ever so slightly.
I am concerned about not being able to get accurate profiles.
I have fiddled with going between "default" and "auto" in the "setup" drop down, but I am only able to load the Adobe profiles for the make and model of my lens.  (I only shoot Nikon by the way).
Perhaps I am overanalyzing this but I would like my software to have the most accurate profiles and I believe the Nikon profiles are slightly more accurate than the Adobe ones.
Can someone shed some light on this for me?
Thanks in advance to all that take the time to reply.
    Fulvio

"There are two seperate "profile" areas now. You need to scroll down to the 'Camera Calibration' panel, where you will find your "camera" profiles.
Your camera lens will be automatically detected in the Lens Correction panel, that is if it is a lens model in the database. Otherwise no lens model will show up and you will have to select 'Manual' to make your own profile. This is the case for my Sigma F2.8 Macro lens – It is NOT listed."
Thanks for the reply however, Under the Camera Calibration module there are no camera's listed.  All I see listed under the profile tab in the Camera Calibration module is:
    ACR 4.4
    ACR 4.3
    Adobe Standard
    Camera D2X Modes 1 through 3
Camera Landscape, neutral, portrait, standard and vivid
My question is focussed on the lens correction.  The correct lens is listed in that module but the Nikon profiles that were present before optimization are no longer there instead replaced by Adobe's profile for the selected Nikon lens.

  • Lens correction works with my RAWs, but not my JPEGs?

Hi all, if I check "Enable Profile Corrections" for any of my RAW files, Lightroom automatically identifies the Make/Model/Profile of my lens. However for my JPEG files (same camera, same lens) when I check "Enable Profile Corrections" it defaults to none/none/none, and my lens doesn't even show up in the dropdown menus if I try to select it manually.
How can I get Lens Correction to work for JPEGs as it does for RAWs?

Update, got it working, sweet! I'll post what I did below, hopefully useful to somebody...
    1) Probably the best thing would be to make my own Lens Profile -- http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/lensprofile_creator.html -- but I'm not quite ready for that now, I just wanted to make the built-in RAW profiles work for JPEG too.
    2) I located the RAW profiles I wanted available as JPEG profiles, in this folder:
    C:\ProgramData\Adobe\CameraRaw\LensProfiles\1.0\[MyCamera]\
    3) In this folder:
    C:\Users\[USER]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\LensProfiles\
    4) I created the following subfolder:
    C:\Users\[USER]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\LensProfiles\1.0\[MyCamera]\
    5) I copied the RAW profile files from #2 above into this new folder.
    6) I set the files to not be "read-only"
    7) I opened those files into a text editor, and I performed a Find/Replace.
    From: <stCamera:CameraRawProfile>True
    To: <stCamera:CameraRawProfile>False
(Note that there are multiple instances, so I performed a Find/Replace ALL.)
    8) I set the files back to "read-only" (probably not necessary)
And now when I turn on Lens Correction for a JPEG, it works! And it seems like my camera isn't performing any lens corrections (such as vignetting) when saving JPEGs, so it's pertty good as-is. Though, per #1 above, probably the best solution would be to make my own Lens Profiles from scratch.
Thanks to all & I hope this helps somebody...

  • DSLR + lens for the beginning

    Hi guys,
I like photography and feel I am ready for my first DSLR (I used only Point-an-shoot cameras before). Read a lot of reviews and discussions but things are still not clear for me which camera and lens to get. My budget is around $1500. I am planning to take portraits (and some weddings perhaps) and some landscape pics (just for pleasure from time to time). Also if possible I'd like to grow with my camera so it should not necessary be a camera for noob, I am willing to learn.
So, I found 2 lenses - Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM Lens and Sigma 50mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Lens (Both are prime, must provide a nice pic in a bad light, fast and sharp). The price for Sigma is 2 times higher then Canon. Does the difference really cost these money? Since there is a rule "better buy more expensive lens then camera" I don't mind to spend more on Sigma, but should I? Also is it better to get 50mm or 35mm considering I am going to use with crop sensor camera?
I can't afford full-frame camera right now, so depends on which lens I'm going to get there is some options with camera: Canon 70D, 7d or T3i.
I would be happy to hear some advice and thank you in advance.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

His budget I think is for Camera + Lens (at least one). Yes, he can buy 6D full frame for $1500 now, but that is without any lens.

please advise how the system use time bucket and to calculate the forecast
i also have question regarding ex-post method and median method and none
whats the difference between these methods
    Regards
    Raju

    Hi Raju,
Take a look of the SAP documentation. Here you have the detail of what the Auto Model Sel 2 is doing:
Automatic Model Selection Procedure 2 - Univariate Forecasting - SAP Library
Anyway, maybe because I don't understand exactly what the system is doing or maybe because I have found inconsistencies, I would not use the automatic model selection models in APO DP.
Take a look of these articles talking about some inconsistencies:
Getting Best Fit to Work in SAP? - Demand Planning
Best Fit Forecasting in SAP DP - SAP Planning
As you can see in the first article, Auto Model Sel 2 uses to copy the data.
If you are trying to identify the model, take a look of the Sales Pattern, then run different methods, play with the parameters (alpha, beta, gamma) and determined what should be the model and the set of parameters base on the MAPE.
For ex-post method (constant), you can read this article:
APO DP - Forecast Model Parameters: First-Order Exponential Smoothing
Looking at the SAP help documentation you can see the difference between Ex-post and Median methods:
Ex-Post Forecast - Univariate Forecasting - SAP Library
Median Method - Univariate Forecasting - SAP Library
    Kind Regards,
    Mariano
