Modelling approach for Business Content

Hi gurus
I need your opinions about a subject that has been discussed in a couple of threads but I canu2019t formulate a clear opinion.
Is it better to use for e.g. infoobject 0BPartner from business content and make all customizing changes needed there (for e.g. Compounding key for data coming from 3-4 different sources) or make 3-4 copies of it for example ZBPartner, YBpartner , XBPartner and differentiate my data there.

ZBPartner will be a template of 0BPartner. So everything in the beginning will be exactly the same. Customizing of the 0BPartner or ZBPartner depending on the choice we make will follow afterwards. Following that some other BPartners that cannot fit well in the existing model will be modeled in subsequent XBPartners that will be the copy of the Business Content Version or maybe the copy of the changed BI version of 0BPartner or ZBPartner.
So the question remains. At the beginning use 0BPartner and customize that or copy it to a ZBPartner and customize this.

Documentation for Business Content Rapid Marts Reports for SAP R/3

Hi,
As we have technical documentation for SAP BI business content BI reports on SAP HELP Portal,
is there any link where we can find the technical documentation for business content reports supported by SAP BOBJ Rapid marts for R/3 solution like for HR module.
I would like to know what kind of reports are available as a part of rapid mart business content and what are the measures ( key figures ), dimensions ( characteristics ) supported by each of these standard business content rapid mart reports.
I have referred business guide and user guide for HR rapid marts but they just give an overview of what analysis can be done.But there is no technical documentation for each of the possible rapid mart reports.

Hi,
It depends on the KPI you are extracting for,if Business Content Extractor provides you with those then there is no need for generic extractors.
In CO-PA the KPI for profitability differs from client to client.You have Business Content for CO-PA also...

Disk space required for business content activation

Hi everyone,
I'm looking for information about how much disk space is required for activation of differents parts of business content (or ultimately, ALL business content in NW04S). I'm also looking for that information on extractors side on R/3.
Reason why i'm asking is that I am convinced that it is better to activate as much Biz Content as possible straight at the beginning of an implementation project even though part of it should not be used in the first place(mostly because if you activate BC later while already in production you have high risks of overwrite or conflicts with existing objects). However I am often opposed the argument that this consumes useless diskspace blah blah blah...
I'd be curious to know the exact diskspace Biz Content actually takes when activated, so any information about it is welcome.

How to get zdata flow for business content data flow

Hi Experts,
i have done business content installation for mttr/mtbr i.e OPM_DSO2 which gets loaded from 0PM_DSO1 and 0PM_DSO1 gets loaded from
2LIS_17_I0NOTIF and 2LIS_18_I0NOTIF i want to change the whole dataflow to zdataflow
so i have created zinfosources with copy of original infosource and done the datasource assignment , and created the update rules for them and finally want to create update rules from 0PM_DSO1 to 0PM_DSO2 , here my question is i cant get standard routines here so how do i create z dataflow
please advise

First understand existing standard routine, based on that you can maintain custom routine for zdata flow. Take abap expert help.He can analyze for standard routine function and will write required logic at zdata flow.

HowTo provide modifid Business Objects for Business Content Provider in MSY

Hallo,
we are currently working on Reports and hence do need to work with the BCP (Business Content Provider). We now come to the point, were we have issues and have to enhance the Data structure. According to the documentation the Busienss Objects (BO) is maintained in the MAS, but whatever I do I am not able to get the any modification visible in MSY. I only was able to see modification on the relationship tile in MSY, but nothing else.
I realized at least that only attributes are visible in MSY, which are actually assigend to an BDoc Segment field, so I have created my own Z_Attribute and assigend an existing segment field "ALT_ID". I did a generate all, performed an rebuild of the MSY (called in MAS as "Mobile System"), performed an ConnTrans and also did an "Reload Structure" in MSY, but nothing is going to change.
I went thru the help.sap.com Docu http://help.sap.com/saphelp_crm50/helpdata/en/fe/f34456d2672547be0efe4968913223/frameset.htm , but there is nothing that tells the general limitations & rules I have to consider unlike the MSA application. Questions like "Is the BCP based on the BO in MAS or more on the BDoc behind", "How the structure of the BCP is actually determind", ...
Did I missed anything?

Transport request for Business Content

Hi SDN Gurus,
We have a Fresh BI 7.0 System and we are Doing a CRM implementation project. This requires standard Business Content related to CRM opportunity and Activity cubes. I have installed(Activated) the relevant Business Content for the same. As this is my Development system for demo purpose all the relevant Business Content objects are stored in $tmp package.
My Question is whether we need to allocate a separate package and Request for Transporting the same(All the Activated Business Content) to QA system or only custom created Objects required to be Transported as a new request to QA.
Please clarify whether the same Objects ($temp business content) will be available in the QA in activated state or we need to Activate the Business Content in QA also.
Any help will be rewarded.

Hi Vishwanath,
You need to put(collect) all the business content objects along with your custom created objects in a separate package and put them in a new request.
The business content will be activated in Quality system only when you activate these in Development and transport it to Quality.

Grouping for Business Content Installation

I am on a BI 7.0 environment and i have to install cubes and DSO's from FIGL (General Ledger) and FI-FM (funds management). these include 0FIGL_C01, 0FIGL_VC1, 0FIGL_VC2, 0FIGL_O02 and 0FIFM_C01 and related DSO's. When installing these objects which is the which <b>GROUPING</b> should i go for, is it
<b>IN DATA FLOW BEFORE, ONLY NECESSARY OBJECTS</b> or something else.

1. Install Info object catalog , it will install all necessary info objects
     ( Grouping only necessary objects)
2. Install info cubes , ods
     ( Grouping only necessary objects)
3. Install update rules
     ( Grouping only necessary objects)
4 .Install transfer rules.
     ( Grouping only necessary objects)

Transporting Extract Structures for Business Content Data Sources

Hi
We have added a new field to the 2lis_13_vditm data source and when i am trying to capture it in the transport, only the data source is getting captured and not the extract sturcture. When I go to the Object Entry Directory of the Extract Structure, it shows package as MCEX and person responsible as SAP. Should i need to change this and capture it in a transport or is it enough if i capture the data source alone

Hi,
If you transport the DS that should do it . The extract structure is standarad one and it would show as SAP, however you would have added the new filed using an append structure and if you go to the append structure and view the transport request you should be ble to see the transport request and your package in it.
P.S : if the Append structure is not under any transport req then check if it has already been transported

Business Content for Bill Up transaction in CRM system

To all Experts,
I'm currently working on a project that requires Bill Up transactional data ( Source Table: CMSD_BU ) to flow from CRM to BW system. I'm looking for Business Content that can fulfill this requirement. However, till to date, I couldn't find any information of such Business Content. I'm not sure if such BC exist. Can anyone help if you have experience implement this data flow?
When searching for the DataSource / Extractor, I found BW Extract Structure CMST_BU_BW and CMST_BU_BW_C in the CRM system. But couldn't find any DataSource for both extract structure. Not sure if we need to install any support pack in order make the BC available in the system. Please help if you have any idea.

For this document I just want to create follow up transaction in CRM.(I dont want to change the document in CRM)

Does sap BI business content comes with transformation for standards

Hai Can anybody tell me whether SAP BI 7 business content
comes with fully loaded transformations with all routines in place like our 3x update rules.
For ex when i load 0hr_pa_0 and 0hr_pa_1 in 3x iam getting the routine with code in place for business contents when i migrate iam unable to trace the transformations in Business content can somebody help or is it we have to do the coding stuff for age calculation,age range etc in transformations

Where can I find a step by step configuration guide for BW specifically for Business contents
I would also like to know what steps are to be done in R/3 also.
If you could give me a link for configuration guide like what we get in Best Practices for R/3 MM or SD, I would be extremely grateful.

Error while Installing the update rules in business content

Hi All,
I got the following error,when i was installing the update rules : Object UPDR D4C8V3KA00XD5ANPVUAH9KQDJ could not be found in version M. but these update rules appear as inactive mode in bi content-object types-updaterules-selection-inactive status.
Please could i know where we can check version status for business content pdaterules. but it was showing NOT FOUND IN Version M .
please anybody can help me for solving this error.

Hi,
You can check the Content Release and Last Content Modification for your update Rules following thee given path:
RSA1>BI Content>object Types>Update Rules>Select object(search for ur update rules) -->Transfer Selections.
After they are being transfered to the right pane.On right pane (where you can see the its technical name) scroll towards right you will see last three tabs as "Content Release,Last Content Modification and Person responsible".
Change the Grouping as "Before and afterwards" and then try installing.

Hi Nikhil
The datasources remain same, U can migrate them in BI side from 3.5 to 7.0 using RSDS -tcode.
All extractors remains same, Well it again depends on the service packs u r using.
Now the latest for BI is service pack 17 and for Business content patch is Patch 10.
U can find new datasources like 0FI_GL_14 and 0FI_GL_40 and many other queries.
In BI side
1.If you have update rules you will have to create transformations and there is no shortcut here ..if there are routines you will have to write them as well and change the syntax as some of the old syntax of 3.x is no more valid in BI 7.
2.Data loading concept changes as you can bypass the Infosource(but in few places you will need it actually like when you are directly loading from datasource to target and you want to read master data).
3.DTPs will be required..changes in the Process chains for the same.
4.Datasources need migration(first emulate them and test whether the Bi 7 loaidng is working or not otherwise if you migrate you will loose your transfer rule.
