Modification in DEBIS search help.

Hi
Is it possible to change the DEBIS search help?Can I check (tick) import and export parameter for the fields VKBUR and VKGRP?When i tried for the same an error message displayed " System settings does not allow you to change the object ".
If anyone did the same plz let me know...

Search helps are defined in the data dictionary (txn SE11). I think you have two options....
You can MODIFY the DEBI search help. Modifications to standard SAP objects are not recommended.
SAP also provides a flexible process to change the search help for customers. This is usually done with help from the SD functional person.
First- check the documentation. In the IMG (txn SPRO), got to LOGISTICS GENERAL -> BUSINESS PARTNER -> CUSTOMERS -> CONTROL.
Select the "document" icon at the far left of the DEFINE CUSTOMER MATCHCODES icon. This is the documentation about the search help DEBI (formally called matchcode).
Second- Execute the icon above this entry labeled CHECK SEARCH FIELDS FOR DEBTORS. Here you can select the telephone number (TELF1) from the drop down list.
This needs to be coordinated with your functional team. Normally NAME2 or ORT01 (city) is replaced. This means that the replaced field will no longer be available in the search help.

Dynamic Search Help in WDA Table

Hello Expert,
I would like to assign the standard search help for Webdynpro abap table in item level,
I know using the below code we can assign the search help for particular input field ,
DATA lo_nd_info TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_node_info.
           lo_nd_info = lo_nd_eqt_partner->get_node_info( ).
           CALL METHOD lo_nd_info->set_attribute_value_help
             EXPORTING

But my scenario is i have one table which is having threee columns,
Partner type   partner   name,
so based on the partner type i would like to call the standard search help ,
if the line item 1 is having partner type 'KU' then i need to assign DEBI search help
if the line item 2 is having Partner type 'LI' or 'AG' then i need to assign KRED search help ,
If the line item 3 is having Partner type 'AP' then i need to assign VKNK search help
so please help me to achieve the same.

One method to achieve this functionality would be :
1. Find out the maintenance screen and function group of the table maintenance generator say 2000 and ZFGRP.
2. Go to SE80 and open ZFGRP screen number 2000.
3. For Field number 1 , it is assumed that there is already a standard search help for it.
4. For field 2 - create a module in Process on Value Request Event in PAI of the maintenance screen ( Similar to any module pool program)
5. Use FM DYNP_VALUES_READ to read the value of field 1 on the screen ( Because this is before enter is pressed and field 1 on the module pool porogram would not be populated with value )
6. While creating internal table for this FM, filter out all the values that are not required based on value obtained above.
call the FM F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST( In Process on Value request event of field 2 in PAI)

Finding all repair in search helps

Hello people,
I don´t know if it is possible.... but.... I will ask!
In our environment, we have a lot of repairs in search helps. When we simulate the upgrade to ERP 6.0, these repairs disappear.
I believe the correct way to do this ampliation is doing the "Append Search Help", that´s right?
So, I would like to change from these repair tecnique to the append tecnique. How can I find all the search helps that suffered a repair? Is there a table with this information?

Search help to fill 2 related fields

Hi
I have a table that I populate though SM30.
I have 2 fields and I have a matchcode for the first one. Since the end one is a description field, I would like that the when I choose a value from the searchhelp, it return 2 values , 1 to each field...one for name, and one for description
Is this possible and how?

Assumptions: The math code you have for the first field is custom (means You created that Match code)
for your req:
you need to go into the search help and do some modifications.
Se11> search help > ex: BUPAP > change
check the check box for the second field (description) IMP (import)
which means when you see the two fields in the search help screen and select ur choice the description will also get imported to the screen.

Match code modification or search help hinding in LDB

Hi all,
I am working on report using PNP logical database.
I created a custom search help (ZSH001) and appended in PERM coll search help.
For field PERNR in selection screen need to have only one searchhep ZSH001 when I use F4 on pernr in selectin screen.
I should get for only one report. It should not change the logical databse. Is there any function module to work on this?

Modifications in standard personnel no search help using FM RH_OBJID_REQUES

Hi Experts ,
I am using the FM RH_OBJID_REQUEST for providing seacrh help of personnel No in ABAP HR.
The Standard Tabs which are displayed when pressing F4 helps are
1)Search Term
2)Structure Search
3)Organisation Assignment
4)Last name u2013 First name
5)Employee Application number
6)Personnel Numbers with trip data by organiz. Assignment
7)Personnel Numbers with trip data
8)Payroll correction run
9)Interface toolbox; Export Program.
Out of these search help criterions ( tabs ) the client for some unknown reasons is asking for only pts no 1) , 2), 3) & 4)only.
How to achieve this ...??

Hello Ankur Gupta,
Go to transaction se11 and display search help KRED_C
Choose menu item Go to > Append Search Help and use "Create" button on following popup list.
You can add specific search helps to collective search helps by this way.

I hope p KRED_C is a collective search help....
select the search help where you want to add the condition....In the elementary search help screen you will have the selection method in the data collection tab.
just double click it will take you to the database view there in the selection condition tab you can mention the condition
table - field name - oerpator (EQ) - for blank ' '.
Make sure the field which you are using should be there in the view fields and the table should be there in the table/join condition.
activate the database view and search help.

How to change the desription of a standard SAP field in the Search Help

Hi All,
In Table T023T there is a field WGBEZ60(Long text describing the material group) and the data element of the field is WGBEZ60.
Requirement is to change the description of the field WGBEZ60.The desription of the field is - Description 2 for the material group.
But the user want as - Description for the material group. He dont want 2 in the description.
we are using this field in the search help of Material group for the transaction ME21N and ME51N.
So please tell me how can we change the description of the field in the Search help.

As search help uses data element , it shows its keyword. So you have to do modification to that keyword.
- Go to CMOD
- from top menu GOTO -> Text enhancements -> Keywords -> Change -> type WGBEZ60 -> change the description -> Save and add it to transport
- now use that data element either on the screen or search help. It will have the descripiton modified.

Need some help in creating Search Help for standard screen/field

I need some help in adding a search-help to a standard screen-field.
Transaction Code - PP01,
Plan Version - Current Plan (PLVAR = '01'),
Object Type - Position ( OTYPE = 'S'),
Click on Infotype Name - Object ( Infotype 1000) and Create.
I need to add search help to fields Object Abbr (P1000-SHORT) / Object Name (P1000-STEXT).
I want to create one custom table with fields, Position Abb, Position Name, Job. Position Abb should be Primary Key. And when object type is Position (S), I should be able to press F4 for Object Abb/Object Name fields and should return Position Abbr and Position Name.
I specify again, I have to add a new search help to standard screen/field and not to enhance it.
This is HR specific transaction. If someone has done similar thing with some other transation, please let me know.
There is no existing search help for these fields. If sm1 ever tried or has an idea how to add new search help to a standard screen/field.
It's urgent.

Entries that are deleted from SHLP_TAB in this step are not offered in the elementary search help selection. If there is only one entry remaining in SHLP_TAB, the dialog box for selecting elementary search helps is skipped. You may not change the next timepoint.
The timepoint is not accessed again if another elementary search help is to be selected during the dialog.
2. PRESEL1
After selecting an elementary search help. Table INTERFACE has not yet been copied to table SELOPT at this timepoint in the definition of the search help (type SHLP_DESCR_T). This means that you can still influence the attachment of the search help to the screen here. (Table INTERFACE contains the information about how the search help parameters are related to the screen fields).
3. PRESEL
Before sending the dialog box for restricting values. This timepoint is suitable for predefining the value restriction or for completely suppressing or copying the dialog.
4. SELECT
Before selecting the values. If you do not want the default selection, you should copy this timepoint with a search help exit. DISP should be set as the next timepoint.
5. DISP
Before displaying the hit list. This timepoint is suitable for restricting the values to be displayed, e.g. depending on authorizations.
6. RETURN (usually as return value for the next timepoint)
The RETURN timepoint should be returned as the next step if a single hit was selected in a search help exit.
It can make sense to change the F4 flow at this timepoint if control of the process sequence of the Transaction should depend on the selected value (typical example: setting SET/GET parameters). However, you should note that the process will then depend on whether a value was entered manually or with an input help.
7. RETTOP
You only go to this timepoint if the input help is controlled by a collective search help. It directly follows the timepoint RETURN. The search help exit of the collective search help, however, is called at timepoint RETTOP.
8. EXIT (only for return as next timepoint)
The EXIT timepoint should be returned as the next step if the user had the opportunity to terminate the dialog within the search help exit.
9. CREATE
The CREATE timepoint is only accessed if the user selects the function "Create new values". This function is only available if field CUSTTAB of the control string CALLCONTROL was given a value not equal to SPACE earlier on.
The name of the (customizing) table to be maintained is normally entered there. The next step returned after CREATE should be SELECT so that the newly entered value can be selected and then displayed.
10. APP1, APP2, APP3
If further pushbuttons are introduced in the hit list with function module F4UT_LIST_EXIT, these timepoints are introduced. They are accessed when the user presses the corresponding pushbutton.
Note: If the F4 help is controlled by a collective search help, the search help exit of the collective search help is called at timepoints SELONE and RETTOP. (RETTOP only if the user selects a value.) At all other timepoints the search help exit of the selected elementary search help is called.
If the F4 help is controlled by an elementary search help, timepoint RETTOP is not executed. The search help exit of the elementary search help is called at timepoint SELONE (at the
F4IF_SHLP_EXIT_EXAMPLE
This module has been created as an example for the interface and design of Search help exits in Search help.

Search help for field in SM30

Hi Experts,
This is a Z table with first field as GROUP and second field as KEY.
User can select values for first field using a search help. It has three possibel entries
1. Purchasing Org
2. Region
3. Coutnry
In second field the user has to enetr value based on selection in first field, for eg. if 1 is chosen in 1st field user will enter name of a purchasing organisation.
Can we dispay a search help for second field based on the selection in first field?
Like if 1 is selected in 1st field second field should display search help for Purchasing Org
if 2 is selected in 1st field second field should display search help for Region....in SM30?
How can we achieve this?

Hi Anubhav,
1.Go to the table maintenance generator screen from SE11 (Utilities -> Table Maintenance Generator).
2. In the Table maintenance generator screen , navigate to Environment -> Modifications -> Maintenance Screens
3. Select and Edit the screen where you need this new search help
4. Create a Process on Value Request module for your second field at the end of the screen flow logic after MODULE LISTE_AFTER_LOOP.
5. In the POV module, use funcntion DYNP_VALUES_READ to read the value of field 1 on the screen
6. Fill your own table with the values for field 2 based on field 1 and display selection using the function F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST

Logical Database - PNPCE - Hide 'Org Structure' 'Search Help' etc buttons

Hi,
We have created a report by making a z copy of RCATS_APPROVE_ACTIVITIES. In the Z version we need to hide the buttons on the titlebar of the selection screen.
Buttons are
- Org Structure
- Search Help
- Dynamic Selection
- Selection Fields.
Can you please suggest if I can do something from the code ?

Thanks for your suggestion. However, there is no title bar method that we can modify to remove the buttons. I have created a Z report Category by copying the existing one and made the modifications.
In that we can hide/display UI elements which are displayed by Logical Database.

Hi John,
A Search help exit is something similar to a user exit. Every search help will have an option of attaching a search help exit under the definition tab( when you view the search help from se12).
For example take a look at the search help VMVA - you will notice a search help exit SD_F4_SHLP_EXIT_SUBSHLP_CHOOSE attached to it.
Basically the serah help exit which is nothing but a function module with a predefined interface which gets triggered before a f4 help is displayed. The exit is used to supress or do any other related modification required.
We have implemented many search help exits and the reason is that we have given a custom interface to our business partners to carry out some transaction on our SAP systems. Though we have given them access to our SAP system we also want to ensure that the business partner does not view any additional data in the system. We have controlled this via many ways like using z objects, using authorizations etc. Still once the user has authorizations to any transaction he or she can do a f4 help on any field and see the data which he should not be able to do. So we have implemented search help exits to supress the drop down only for the business partners. We control this based on the unique login id's we have given to them.
So in short it is used to modify the behaviour of F4 help, mostly used to supress the drop down.
It has to be defined in a specific format.
