Modified frame rate properties keep resetting

Hi community.
I have faithfully switched over to Premiere Pro CC and so far so good. One thing that just sucks is that if I modify the frame rate of a clip (or series of clips) in a project (like take gopro 60fps footage and modify it to playback at 23.976) if I move that project to another computer the original settings come back (60fps)
To better explain, I have duplicate projects set up at home, and in my office. They are cloned projects, so every byte is the same (folder structure included). If I work at home, then take the premiere pro project into to work, and relink it to the media files there, all the modified clips revert back. Which is a pain because I have to go through all the footage and re-modify them.
Any fix on the horizon?
Thanks team!

They are just looking past this, Just make sure to modify all the clips so when your project moves and it resets you only need to modify all the clips at once. Only fix I can see right now.

  • FrameAccess.java: Modifying frame rate capture ?

    I'm currently supposed to capture the keyframes in a video and I've managed to find FrameAccess.java that has allowed me to capture all the frames in the video.
    However, I do not need to capture every single frame; just need to capture frames maybe every 20 seconds or so.
    -> Therefore, how do I go about doing it?
    Also, when I ran FrameAccess.java, it seems that when it has reached the end of the video, it will keep trying to capture the last frame and it won't end until I manually end it.
    -> How do I rectify this error?
    I really hope someone can help. Thanks in advanced.

    However, I do not need to capture every single frame; just need to capture frames maybe every 20 seconds or so. You can grab the frames using FrameGrabbingControl. Then why use FrameAccess.java??
    If you use FrameGrabbingControl, then using Timer you can grab frames at whatever interval you want, e.g. try the following code:
    [http://forums.sun.com/thread.jspa?messageID=10595229#10595229]
    It uses a timer to grab frames at 30ms (you can make it 1000ms or anything by changing this line : " timer = new Timer(30, this);" ).
    Now, I don't know what you want to do after capturing images, do you want to save images only or do you want to make a video from this, if this is the case then you can search for "Jpeg to Movie" JMF program example on this site.
    Also, when I ran FrameAccess.java, it seems that when it has reached the end of the video, it will keep trying to capture the last frame and it won't end until I manually end it. For me, there is no such problem. The program ends when the end of video file is reached.
    Thanks!

  • Project properties Frame rate locked

    Goog Morning,
    I have a problem with Motion, in the Project properties I have the Frame rate locked. See pictures: http://www.lightimage.ch/deposito/2
    If I choose CUSTOM I can't modify the frame rate. I tryed to choose HDV 1080i50 but the frame rate remain 29.97, (see: http://www.lightimage.ch/deposito/3) I click OK but if I return in Project properties, the frame rate is again 29.97.
    Anyone can help me?
    The video settings is:
    HDV 1080i50 PAL
    Thank you very much.

    hi,
    you cant modify the frame rate once a project has been created. Once you open Motion you should be asked of you want to start a new project or other. You can select in the general preferences what you want motion to do at start-up. Choose new project, then you should be able to choose custom, from there you will be able to select the frame rate. You can then save this is a default empty project if you wish

  • Can't Change Frame Rate in Properties

    To change project properties in FCPX you click the wrench icon, which brings up a window to select 720p, 1080p, etc as well as frame rate. The problem is, there are no options in the dropdown for the frame rate in all of my projects, it chooses one automatically (seemingly arbitrarily) and you can't change it.
    I thought that when the progam says it would detect the properties of the first clip and adjust the project properties to match, it would actually do that (maybe I should have known better). So I imported my standard 1080p 29.97fps footage from my Canon 7D and then FCPX automatically set the project properties to...720p at 24fps. Curious, no? No problem, I thought, I'll just go to Project Properties and manually correct FCPX. But it was not to be, as FCPX had decided to give me only one  option in the frame rate selection: 24p. But no, I thought, I would very much like my properties to be 29.97 so as to match my footage. But FCPX did not agree with this, and would not change its mind.
    Has anyone found a solution to this?
    Do any pros still use Final Cut Pro?
    Thanks,
    Kurtis

    It may be possible that a .jpg was the first thing in the project, which may explain the seemingly random properties (why wouldn't they just make it default to a more common setting like 1080p 29.97?) but I digress.
    And it's a very stupid move to revoke the ability to change project properties while clips are in the project, that makes no sense.
    I'm begining to think that Apple has really failed with this new version of Final Cut; and I've been using Final Cut for years. I am debating switching to Premiere, but I will give FCP X a bit more time to redeem itself.

  • If I "modify" a clips frame rate is this a permanent alteration, as in Apple Cinema Tool?

    I have some footage shot at 59.97 FPS and need to interpret the frame rate at 23.98.   If I do this via the "modify, interpret footage" menu options, will this permanently alter the clip?  In Apple Cinema Tools, it permanently alters the footage.
    Thanks!
    Ed

    It doesn't affect the original media.

  • World of warcraft/Diablo 3 frame rate drop to about 25% of normal frame rate and I have to reset SMC to get it back to original. But this happens once every 2-5 days. Is this normal!?

    I purchased a 15 inc retina mac book pro in Sep 2012 and everything has been perfect except when I started to play world of warcraft and Diablo 3. After I first installed the games, their frame rates were so bad and the games were un-playable (<10fps). So I spent quite a bit of time searching on the internet and eventually found a solution which is to reset the SMC of the machine. I did this and everything was fantastic, frame rates go up to 30-60 fps on the same settings. However I then realise that I have to reset SMC every few days as the framerate become bad again and again. The frame rate doesn't drop gradually. It is sudden - yesterday the games were fine, today when I turn on the computer they become unplayable.
    Any help is appreciated - I tried to contact apple by going through the solution process they have on the website but it just asks me to take the computer to the apple store but I don't have time to do so. It will be great if there is a phone number I can call.
    Cheers

  • PrE 9.0 wont let me share as H.264 1280x720p 29.97 fps - keeps changing frame rate

    As the title says I am unable to create an export with the following settings:
    H.264
    1280x720p
    29.97 (or 30, neither possible) fps
    I have tried editing the existing H.264 presets but the following happens:
    I go into Share > Computer > MPEG and select the Preset "H.264 1440x1080i 30" then hit the "Advanced" button.
    All I want is to change the resolution to match my project size, 1280x720 which I do - but then something happens
    As soon as I change "Frame Dimensions (pixels)" to 1280x720, the fps is automatically changed to 59.94 and when I click the dropdown box for the frame rate, I can only pick the following:
    23.976
    24
    59.94
    Automatic (based on source)
    Since I can't pick 30 or 29.97 I tried picking Automatic but that sets it to 23.976 - even though it clearly states that my source is at 29.97 fps...
    At this point I don't really know what else to try and any help is appreciated.
    Thanks
    EDIT: Just thought I'd also mention that the source is from a GoPro Hero HD cam which shoots in 1280x720 H.264 AVC so I did select "NTSC AVCHD LITE 720p30" as the project profile
    EDIT2: Found Bill Hunt's premade profiles for the GoPro and Premiere Pro. Trying them out right now and it seems to be working. But I still cannot create a profile with 29.97 fps at 1280x720 myself

    With certain file formats and codecs, you will be limited in the configuration of size or frame rate. It sounds like the output format you've selected is one of them.
    Try going to Share/Computer/MOV and see if that makes a difference.

  • Reading gif animation frame rates and such?

    Okay so I've been coding java for some time now and I mostly just make applications for fun.
    I usually don't have to get help for coding so this is my first post here...
    The current goal I have is a application that displays animations (may turn into a animation editor)
    I've tried searching on google alot for the answer but no justice :(
    Okay so I have the image loading, a semi-nice gui, the image displays and cycles through the animation.
    But the thing that I want is for the image cycle to actually know the real frame rate of the gif instead of having to define it myself.
    Is there anyway to do this? I was reading up and the only solution I found was to read the bytes of the file itself but that would take alot of work and I haven't got a clue on how to do that.
    This is my code for loading the animation:
    public void loadAnimation(String name) {
            final File imageName = new File(name);
            new Thread() {
                @Override
                public void run() {
                    for(int i = 0; i < animationImage.length; i++) {
                        if(animationImage[i] != null) {
                            animationImage.flush();
    animationImage[i] = null;
    if(lastImageDrawn != null) {
    lastImageDrawn.flush();
    lastImageDrawn = null;
    lastImageIndex = 0;
    ImageReader reader = ImageIO.getImageReadersByFormatName("gif").next();
    readingImage = false;
    try {
    reader.setInput(new FileImageInputStream(imageName));
    totalImages = reader.getNumImages(true);
    imageProgressBar.setMax(totalImages);
    readingImage = true;
    int currentImage = 0;
    while(readingImage) {
    BufferedImage image = reader.read(currentImage);
    animationImage[currentImage] = image;
    currentImage++;
    imageProgressBar.setValue(currentImage);
    imageProgressBar.setText("Loaded frame: " + currentImage + " / " + totalImages + " - " + imageProgressBar.getPercent() + "%");
    repaint();
    image.flush();
    if(currentImage == reader.getNumImages(true)) {
    readingImage = false;
    reader.reset();
    reader.dispose();
    } catch (IOException e) {
    e.printStackTrace();
    }.start();
    }If you guys could help it'd be very appreciated.
    EDIT: Oh yeah, I don't want to use any library's I usually like coding things myself...

  • Overcrank frame rate - what was it?

    We shoot frequently with a Panasonic HVX200 in overcrank mode for better slow motion quality. Sometimes we'll experiment with 60fps. Or 48fps. Or 36fps. When we drop them on the time line in Final Cut Pro 6, they'll all look very good. But is there a way to see "which" frame rate you were shooting at within Final Cut Pro - while they're in the time line. We're getting mixed up regarding which clip represents which frame rate? Unless we keep very accurate notes - you never really know which clip is which?
    Is there something to click - like "item properties" under the file menu that will tell you how many frames per second that clip is? "Item Properties" doesn't. I would surely think somewhere I could find that information? Can anybody help us here
    Thanks,
    Larry

    Hi Larry,
    I don't know the HVX200, but with the EX1 you can check that parameter with the clip browser (either in the camera or with the Sony software to ingest the clip).
    The problem is that your playback FPS is 30 and that's what you see in FCP.
    To see how the clip was recorded you need to get access to the metadata associated with your source clip (as you might record 60fps to be played back at 30fps).
    FPC will only show you the playback frame rate.
    Regards,
    Armando.

  • Frame rate, Timer & Delay

    Hi,
    i am still new to flash CS3 and i want to know about
    something about frame rate(default 12 fps) under the properties
    TAB. IF i am to create a flash board game, what frame rate should
    be set for optimum performance? i am using webservice to set and
    get data to SQL Server database. As webservice is passive pull
    technology, i am using Timers to constantly get DATA from SQL
    server after a SET event. Also, i found out that multiple Timers
    with multiple delays will cause some unsuccesful updates or insert
    to database, why is it so? Hope to have a reply asap. Thx.

    Jon, when you convert AVI>MP4, does that compress the AVI at all or keep it the same quality as the original AVI
    File size is directly proportional to the total data rate used. If the same total data rate is used for both files, them the final file size will be roughly the same. As to the case of quality where the files are the same size, this would depend on relative efficiency of the two video codecs involved. In the case of my tests, I used an H.264 video codec at slightly less than the original AVI video codec and did not note any visual difference between the two. However, I did convert to stereo (i.e., two mono channels) at twice the original audio data rate so my target file ended up 90 KBs larger.
    If you have QT Pro and want to go the "extra mile," remember that you only need to convert an AVI compression format that is not already "edit" compatible with iMovie '08 to get it to import. In the case of my test file, the AVI contained M-JPEG video with DVI ADPCM audio so I could have simply exported the Adaptive AVI PCM to a Linear PCM (AIFF) file, extracted the already compatible M-JPEG track, and used the "Add to Selection & Scale" option to re-merge the original video with the converted audio to produce an iMovie '08 "edit" compatible file for import with no loss in video quality.

  • How can I change to a higher frame rate than 12 FPS?

    Just got a good deal on a 15 in MACBOOK Pro running Yosemite with the latest Quicktime and iMovie. Is the best frame rate I can get out of this HD camera 12fps? I can't find anywhere to change it in QT or in IMovie.

    So you seem to correctly understand the information in the linked Use More Light! article.

    Your emotion is irrelevant.  It simply works the way Apple software is written.  Perhaps some other computer system works different from Mac OS X and Apple camera apps?
    If you intend to keep using Mac, you can take manual control of some camera parameters by using a third party add-on app such as iGlasses, Webcam Settings, or Sight Control.

    Whatever frame rate is set by the program of the software application you are using to record those clips.
    You can determine that frame rate by making short test videos and watching it in QT Player.
    The QT "Inspector" window will show you the frame rate for the clip.
    Here's an example for a clip made in my low-light room:

  • Help with sequence settings in final cut for project with 2 different frame rates.

    I really need help with this one! I finished editing a wedding video and realized after exporting that it was filmed in two different frame rates. This has happened before but I converted the footage to match and fixed the problem. In this case, the footage is part 30fps and part 60fps. The majority of it was filmed in 30fps. I cannot convert the 60 to 30 without the slow motion effect which I do not need so I have to find a way to burn this to a DVD without it looking messed up! The video was shot with two Canon 7ds if that helps anything. The first sequence I set at 29.97 and exported as a quicktime movie and all the footage filmed in 60 looked perfect and the footage in 30 looked jittery. Then I tried the sequence at 59.97 and it switched. The footage filmed at 30 looked good and the 60 was cropped in. I am so confused! Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

    Thanks for your help Michael! The frame rates are 29.97 1920 x 1080 and 59.94 1280 x 720. I did a control click on the clips in final cut and viewed the item properties/format to find this info. The Canon 7d is a DSLR but we use it for video. As for my workflow, the first thing I do is import the footage onto my computer and then drag the clips into mpeg streamclip. I choose apple prores 422 and uncheck the interlaced box. Once this is done I import the .mov files into final cut. The sequence automatically sets itself to whatever clip I drag in first so it originally set as 29.97. When I finished editing wedding video, I export it to a quicktime movie and choose whatever settings match the sequence, in this case apple prores 422 1920 x 1080 30p. Once that is done I use iDVD to burn the discs.
    I knew something was wrong when I watched the quicktime movie and all the 30fps footage was jittery and most of the cross dissolves looked strange. That's when I figured out the footage was at two different frame rates. What I don't understand is why whatever the sequence is set at in final cut, the clips of the opposite frame rate look right but the clips set at the matching frame rate don't???

  • Slideshow in QT 7.1.3 in Windows: Frame Rate Fixed at 29.97

    I have my sequentially numbered JPGS, Open Slide Show in File menu, highlight the first JPG, but then the Frame Rate is fixed at 29.97, no opportunity to set to 3 seconds per frame or 10 seconds a frame or anything except 29.97 per second.
    I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program: no change. The program was downloaded recently from Apple and says that it is validating the install when the installer is run. Antivirus is switched off when the program is installed.

    I thought this Windows version bug had been "squashed" in 7.0.4. Maybe not.
    You should get two dialog windows when choosing "Image Sequence". If your files are properly sized and named sequentially you highlight just the first image file in the list and click OK. A second dialog window should then open that offers a "frame rate" for your import.
    You say that it refuses to allow you to edit the frame rate at import? Bummer. A bug.
    A simple workaround would be to accept any frame rate it offers and then open this new file. Select all (Control-A) and Copy (Control-C). This places your image sequence in your Clipboard.
    Open any audio file and trim, or add to it, to fit the duration you need for your image sequence:
    30 images at a duration of 3 seconds each would be 90 seconds of audio.
    Select all of this newly trimmed audio and choose "Add to Selection & Scale" from the Edit menu. This will add your video track to the duration of the audio track.
    Open the Movie Properties window and either "Extract" the video track or "Delete" the audio track and then Save As self-contained. mov file.
    Maybe not what you wanted to hear.
    Does the same issue occur under different user accounts? It may be something we could isolate.

  • Can't set frame rate on animated GIF PSE8 on Mac

    When saving an animated GIF in Elements 8 (running on Mac OSX 10.6 Snow Leopard) I can't modify the frame rate. It is set at the default .2 delay and can't be modified. Anyone know of a fix for this?
    Thanks.

    Thanks Barbara... I have used that very workaround already - but was hoping there was a solution so I could just do it in the app designed for this! So unfortunate that Adobe knows about this bug and hasn't fixed it!

  • Relink project clips with different frame rate

    Somehow the clips in my project sequence ended up with a different frame rate (25) than the original media files (23.95), and they are no longer linked -- maybe this happened during import from iMovie.  When I try to relink project files to source media, I get an error message saying they cannot be relinked because they have a different frame rate.  I changed the sequence framerate to 23.95 (by creating a new project with 23.95 as the frame rate, then copying and pasting the other timeline into it), but all the clips remain at 25, so the problem remains.
    How can I change the clip properties to frame rate 23.95 so I can link to the original media?
    Thanks.

    The media got unlinked importing the project and events from iMovie to Final Cut.
    I've attached screen shots with all the specs.
