Modified Track Titles Revert back to Original Titles

Purchase Track in iTunes
Modify the title to something else
Observed Bug:
Modified Track Titles revert back to the original Title after time. Playing the track or requesting track info will reset back to the modified title. but eventually the title will revert again to the original title that it was in the iTunes Store.
I do not have iTunes Match on, this only happens to Tracks purchased in iTunes.
Anybody have any suggestions to avoid this Apple BUG?

People in other threads have speculated that any kind of communications with Apple's servers can be at fault, including the Cloud, Genius, automatic downloads, sharing info with Apple, and even making store purchases.
It might very well be a combination of any of these (like maybe it could happen if you make a purchase but only if you have automatic downloads on). I don't know.
I have not experienced the problem since I turned the Cloud option off. Here are my current settings:
Show Cloud purchases: off (turned off when I started having play count and metadata issues)
Genius: off (never liked it, and it caused long sync times)
Automatic downloads: off (just annoyed me; I want control of what to sync where and when)
Share info with Apple: on (never thought about this option, so I left it alone)
And I have made quite a few purchases from the store with these settings and no ill effects.

  • File name reverts back to original file name from camera

In iPhoto I changed all the names of my pictures from what the camera assigned them. I can see the title on each picture. Then when I go to attach the picture  to an email it reverts back to original name from the camera.
It does the same thing when I copy over to an external hard drive.
How do I get the name to change permanetly?

    Sandy:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Another alternative would be to change your workflow. Upload to a folder on the desktop first and use a renaming application like R-Name to batch, sequentially rename your photos before importing into iPhoto. I use the international date format with a brief description of the shoot like this: 2008-06-15-Fathers Day-001. It may take a bit more effort at the beginning but saves a lot of headaches on down the line.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • I installed Lion and now my MS office will not work, is there a way to revert back my original software?

I installed Lion and now my MS office will not work, is there a way to revert back my original software?

Back to Snow Leopard from Lion install method
Read and print out these instructions, your computer is going to be offline and you wil be cutoff from help until your machine is restored.
Clear the Desktop, Downloads and Trash of anything you wish to keep by placing their files in the respective Documents, Music, Pictures, Movie folders.
If you have a TimeMachine drive, update it and disconnect for the duration of this restore time. It will be your second backup system and will have to be wiped and setup again after successfully going back to Snow Leopard if it was connected to the OS X 10.7 boot drive. If it wasn't, then leave it disconnected without updating to Lion.
Backup ALL your Users folders (Documents, Pictures, Movies, Music etc) manually (drag and drop methods) to a (not TimeMachine) external powered drive (HFS+ journaled formatted in Disk Utility) and disconnect, your going to be wiping the entire disk of ALL DATA. (warning, everything will be gone and not recovered)
    Here we go!
Hold c and boot off the 10.6 installer disk that comes with your computer and second screen in just STOP.
Look at the Utilities Menu for Disk Utility.
On the left is the name of your hard drive maker, click it and Erase (format HFS+ Journaled), give it the same name as before, and click Erase...
This should wipe the drive of ALL partitions (GUID, OS X and 10.7 Recovery, Windows if present)
When it's done, quit and install OS X 10.6. Then install all your programs from fresh sources and validate/update.
When you setup a first account, use the same user name as before, this way you can simply drag and drop the content of your previous Users folders from the external drive right back into the new Users folders and everything should work peachy. Links in iTunes to music, playlists and iPhoto links especially.
Update OS X to 10.6.8 using the Combo Update for best results.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399
(Note: If your original machine had 10.5 and you want the free iLife that comes with the disks with the computer, then you'll have to install 10.5 first using the same c boot/erase/format methods as above, then update to 10.6 via the disk, then Combo Update 10.6.8)
Final step optional but highly receommended.
A lot of people use a Carbon Copy Clone of their boot drive to a HFS+Journaled external drive as a "hold the option key" bootable backup in case something goes wrong with their boot drive or need to restore to a previous OS X version..  (in addition to TimeMachine drive for more immediate backups.)
It's not advised to have a Bootable Clone and a TimeMachine partition on the same external drive, as two drives gives hardware protection in case one fails.

  • How do I change a recurring event on iPhone 5 which syncs with Google Calendar.  As soon as I change it on phone it reverts back to original.  Works on pc perfectly.

Help.  How do I change a recurring event on iPhone 5 which syncs with Google Calendar.  Just reverts back to original.  Work perfectly on pc.

Do you happen to have Dial Assist on? This is in Settings>Phone. This is what helps the phone identify international numbers when dialing, based on location. See if turning that off/on makes a difference. Unless you are making a number of international calls, I believe this can be left off. See the User Guide http://manuals.info.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1565/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf  Page 49 has info regarding Dial Assist.

  • Mp3 will not rename - reverts back to original file name. Any suggestions?

I have a bunch of mp3 files that I would like to rename the original file name. Itunes only allows me to change metadata, but to fix broken names and keep organized, I need to change the file name.  Once I rename the file, it shows the new name, and then upon playing it, it reverts back to the original name. I do not have any locked permissions. I have parallels and tried to rename them on the windows 7 side but same effect.  I tried to shut all programs off so the file was not in use. I even tried to export it as a acc file type.  I am exhausted looking for a solution, this is why I am using this forum as a last ditch effort. Please help.

As far as I am aware, iTunes does not rename files (at least nto my older version I use).  Yes, it will insist upon the files being in certain folders which is structured from the metadata, but the files themselves keeep whatever name you use.
I suggest this be moved to an iTunes forum (you choose for Mac or for Windows).  I have never seen anybody else complain about this in the past.
One question, do you subscribe to Match?  Is there anything else using these files, some third party software?

  • Rescheduled meeting will revert back to original time for owner.

Sorry it's been a long day, the simple answer is just have him create new meetings, replacing the ones that are buggered.
I'm assuming these were / are reoccurring, and its a bug in Outlook 2010 and ActiveSync.

    Hey all,
I have a manager who had this issue come up recently. On his local Outlook client (2010), he will reschedule a meeting and it will revert back to the original time. The wrong time will also show up in his calendar on OWA.
He uses active sync and has a company Iphone, but doesn't alter the calendar time on the phone only from his PC.
I recreated his outlook profile and had him create some new test meetings in OWA. He altered the time of these test meetings and they stuck. They show up fine in the local outlook client too.
Is there something on the server side to look at? Should he just recreate the problem meetings?

  • Calendar meetings reverting back to original time

    Hi,
we currently have a few users that are experiencing issues with updating Calender meeting requests reverting back to the original time. We currently have exchange server 2010 and using clients outlook 2007sp3 and outlook 2013.
e.g User A creates an invite. User A or a delegate of user A tries to move the meeting, it reverts back to the original time

    Hi ststtt,
Before going further , I'd like to ask the following questions to narrow down the issue:
    1. Did the problematic user use mobile device to connect exchange server?
If yes, try to disconnect it and let the user connect to their Mailbox from a single Outlook client, and then check if the issue persist.
    2. If using OWA to update the meeting , is there the same issue?
If no, it could be a client issue related to outlook, you can try to re-create outlook profile and check the result.
    3. Did the problematic user use exchange cache mode or online mode?
If using cache mode, you can change to online mode and check if any helps.
In addition , I also found a article related to Daylight Savings Time which may cause this issue:

  • Cannot change Video Titles - Revert back to original

When I import my videos into iTunes they have incorrect titles and when I try to change them by using "Get Info" they don't change. Just seeing if there is something small I'm missing before I reinstall

I can not change the video name from their original titles. For example, VTS014 is the title I can not change. They are not read only and the videos play fine in iTunes and on my iPod.

  • OS reverted back to original image

    Hello,
I am running Windows 7 Professional on HP Elitebooks. We deploy them using Ghost images. On the ghost image, we have programs like Office 2007, Adobe Reader, Winzip. After we image the computer, we add to the domain, install antivirus, and vpn software.
A user called saying that the night before they couldn't shut down their computer, so they pressed and held the power button. When they booted up today, they got a message that it was recovering(or repairing, they couldnt remember the exact message). In
any event, it turns out, whatever it was doing reverted the laptop back to our original image. What I mean is, the computer was set to Workgroup, instead of being on the domain. It no longer had antivirus, or vpn software. It only had the applications that
    are on our ghost image.
How does this happen and how do we disable this feature?
I saw in control panel, there are some troubleshootings settings like "Computer Maintenance" (which is on by default). Also there is this "Allow troubleshooting to begin immediately when started"
I'm not sure if these settings have anything to do with it, but I need to get this disabled ASAP, as it could cause issues for my remote users.
    Thanks

  • Can't revert back to original DataStore Authentication

I have installed Access Manger using SingleWAR installation option.
The default Authectication for this case is DataStore(Flat file repository)
I changed this authentication to JDBC for testing the connectivity to mysql databse and its use for authentication.
The authectication was unsuccessful (even with the valid user names and passwords which I tried). Now I am unable to login to Access Manager console and change the Authentication back to DataStore.
    Any way out ?
    Thanks

  • Rotated photo automatically reverts back to original

I had a MBP that had some issues with burning a 8GB dual layer DVD. The Geniuses at the Apple store uploaded all my information to their server and then the downloaded it to my new MBP. However, I am using my brand new MBP and when I am viewing my photos in iPhoto 08 I noticed that previously rotated photos were no longer rotated in the right position. So I started to rotate them back. As soon as I click on a new photo, the previous one that I just rotated, rotates right back to the incorrect position.
When I export the photo to my desktop and re- import it, it works fine. This issue actually applies to every photo I have (even the ones facing the right way) so I do not want to export my whole library and then reimport it - also editing all the roll names. I have 10,000 photos and I can't afford to have a corrupted library.
I have also thrown out the plist files for iphoto 08 and restarted the program. I have run disk utility and there were no obvious issues. I have also rebuilt my entire iphoto library by holding down command option and opening iPhoto.
    Does anyone have any ideas?

Well given that you have already tried rebuilding the library it does sound like your database has been damaged.
A next step might be Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back. This will not make anything worse as it leaves your old library untouched.
I have 10,000 photos and I can't afford to have a corrupted library.
You'll have a back up then? Why not restore?
    Regards

  • When I rotate an image in Preview and save it, it reverts back to original

This is a really frustrating problem! When I click on a picture in Finder, it comes up in Preview. If I rotate and save it, the rotation isn't saved and it ends up being the same as the original picture. How am I able to rotate and save the rotation?!

What application are you using to rotate the picture? Applications such as Preview and GraphicConverter save the rotated picture, but with others such as iPhoto you need to export the rotated image.

  • Installed Yosemite and my power point bullet fonts have gone weird. How can I revert back to original bullet point menus

Since installing Yosemite the font menu on my bullet points has changed to strange symbols.  I am using Office for mac 2011

so what are you moaning to us about? you want an older JRE, go install it. I don't know why you're taking this as some personal insult or something, it's not like anyone here is either responsible for this or can do anything about it.
Your little playground fight with MS concerns me not in the least.what playground fight? by and large, everyone here is a programmer who uses the java programming language in a professional capacity. that's got absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with the JRE arguments of a few years ago. get your facts straight

  • Contrast adjustments reverted back to original

    Hi Guys
I just did a whole load of contrast adjustments on clips in my Color (FCS2) timeline, only to find that having done them, only a few of them remain changed! Any tips about how I might access autosave in Color please?
    Warm regards
    Peter

    Hi JP
    Thanks for replying.
Just using primary in room and basic light/dark contrast sliders that's all. No keyframes nothing else.
Yep had manually properly saved/archived at least once an hour throughout the entire day, but unfortunately al these have been corrupted.
Luckily the last manual save I did last night seems to have not been corrupted.
Hopefully it's just a random one-off bug in the software.
Exhausting though - have had to restart 10 hours of contrast adjustments from scratch now :o(
Had been doing contrast adjustments for 4 days prior without any problems.
