Modified URLs in sent emails

If there was a simple way to flag a URL as non-suspicious, then the malware people would use that to make their dodgy web sites look non-suspicious.
You may need to go through the Cisco security hoops to get the client website put onto the whitelist.

My client has sent an email to one of their customers. In the email, they have a standard signature file that includes http://www.myclientwebsite.com. When the customer replied, they received something like this as the url instead.http://secure-web.cisco.com/1q0TynsQ7cjWaDYMzlKo7VsXNzKpDr7RHQEW2D-OeowFMuGK6KWRTm58GnXOv1sRsyany50o...
It also had the subject line prepended with [SUSPICIOUS URL]. I realize that secure-web.cisco.com and the [SUSPICIOUS URL] is something that is coming from their email server. My question is why? It's just a normal company website. I had the client email me directly to make sure somehow it wasn't her, and it came across as it should.
Any help would be greatly appreciated so that their emails aren't flagged as [SUSPICIOUS URL] and looking all weird.

  • Erec output of mailto URL in candidate email

    Hi
I have a requirement in SAP EREC where I require URLs in the email body to mimic the same URLs in the attached PDF. In the registration document sent to candidates the Smartform contains a text element with text set as a URL. The code snippet below then sets the actual URL to the text link.
data lt_url type table of ty_url.
    data ls_url type ty_url.
    ls_url-name = 'URL1'.
    ls_url-url = 'mailto:[email protected]'.
    append ls_url to lt_url.
    ls_url-name = 'URL2'.
    ls_url-url = 'mailto:[email protected]'.
    append ls_url to lt_url.
    ls_url-name = 'Adobe reader'.
    ls_url-url = 'http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html'.
    APPEND ls_url to lt_url.
    CALL FUNCTION 'HR_RCF_SF_URL_REFRESH_GT'.
    CALL FUNCTION 'HR_RCF_SF_URL_PREPARE_CALLBACK'
       TABLES
         PT_URL = lt_url[].
When the letter is generated this is fine in the PDF but in the body of the email the actual URL value (i.e. mailto:[email protected]) is displayed. In the IMG Settings "SSF_PDF" is set as the format for the output channel "Email". Is it possible to override this behaviour?
    Thanks in advance.
    Jon.

    Hi Nicole
The business requirement is that when the cover letter is emailed to the candidate the email body generated from our custom Smartform needs to contain 'mailto' links to various departments within our organisation.
These links need to take the form of Link1 in the text but the URL is actually 'mailto:[email protected]'. I use the code snippet in the original post to create this in other Smartforms but in the body of the email the text displayed is mailto:[email protected]

  • Please list all steps to rename a URL in an email in Mail

Perhaps I should make this a new question instead of asking it on a reply to another answered question.
    =============
HOW do you rename a URL in an email? Please list all the steps starting with opening a new email in Mail. I clicked on Add Hyperlink...in the Edit menu. I put in the URL. All that happened was that it put that whole URL into my email. Then I typed the name that I wanted to rename the link to in the email and highlighted it. Then I clicked on Add Hyperlink again and put the URL into that box. It LOOKED like the rename was an active link in the email that I sent to both myself and to my husband's computer. NEITHER email was able to access the web site using what looked like the renamed link. There has to be a way to identify the URL...AND "translate" that into the renamed link. All that Add Hyperlink does is let you type in the URL. That does not make it show up as something else. What am I missing here?
So would you mind listing ALL the steps in detail, starting with opening a New email? What do you do to indicate what you want to rename it to?
    Thanks for your help!

I tried the basic copy and paste-myspace to comcast-but it just leaves the site without the highlighted link for people click.
When you are composing an email in Apple's Mail.app email program, if you paste in a full URL, including the http:// at the beginning, it will work as a clickable link in the email you send. However, it will not be clickable in the window where you compose the email, only in the email that your recipient recieves.
Test it. Type a full URL into an email in Mail.app, for example:
    http://www.apple.com
It won't appear to be clickable in that composing window. But send that email to yourself. You'll see that in the email you receive, that link will be clickable.
Note: This is somewhat dependent on the email program your recipient is using. Some will block links from being clickable. That's not something you can control. But most email programs will allow it to be a clickable link.

  • Sent emails disappeared after rebuild

When I try to view sent mail from one of my accounts in Mail, I've been seeing "The message xxx concerning “xxx” has not been downloaded from the server. You need to take this account online in order to download it." Checked the size of the box and it was at 1.1 GB, so I deleted a bunch of emails with attachments, but that didn't help after re-opening the application. Following the advice of a post here, I tried to rebuild that mailbox, and the emails all vanished. Tried finding them in Home/Library/Mail/SentMessages.mbox, but the sent mail files there are very small (20 KB), nowhere near the 400MB I was at when the emails disappeared.
I also discovered that there are two, near-duplicate folders for this account in the Mail folder: one contains a trailing space after the name; dates created 3/25/2005 and 1/18/2006, both last modified today. I'm using POP on OS 10.3.9 and have tried re-importing the mailbox, but got nothing. I still get the message about downloading the message from he server when I try to view Sent emails from this account....
Can anybody help me get those sent emails back in their folder? Thanks in advance--

What appears below is what I would have posted if it wasn’t because of the weird duplicate account folder you mention. You may be able to figure out which of the two account folders is Mail using to store your mail by looking at the modification dates of the mailboxes it contains rather than the modification dates of the account folders themselves...
    <hr>
It looks like you have the problem described in the following article:
    Overstuffed mailbox is unexpectedly empty
As you can see, letting a mailbox grow indefinitely is a really bad idea — and it appears to be too late now to solve the problem doing what the article suggests. If this is a POP account, you may be able to fix it as follows:
    1. Quit Mail if it’s running.
    2. In the Finder, go to ~/Library/Mail/POP-username@mailserver/.
    3. Locate Sent Messages.mbox and move it to the Desktop.
    4. Open Mail. A new empty Sent Messages.mbox will automatically be created within the account folder, and this will allow you to continue using Mail normally while trying to solve the problem.
Although Sent Messages.mbox appears to be a file, it’s actually a special kind of folder (a package) that contains several files. Ctrl-click on Sent Messages.mbox and choose Show Package Contents from the contextual menu to see the files it contains. Of these files, mbox is the most important and is where all your messages are stored. What’s the size of that file? Depending on its size, you may or may not be able to directly import it back into Mail in the next step.
An Incoming_Mail file may also be present, in which case it might contain messages that Mail couldn’t transfer to mbox. Incoming_Mail is also a standard mbox file like mbox proper, just named differently, and can be imported back into Mail in the same way.
    5. In Mail, do File > Import Mailboxes and follow the instructions to import the Sent Messages.mbox that’s on the Desktop. I’m not sure what the import options available in Mail 1.x are, but you should choose Other / Standard mbox or something like that, so that Mail looks at the mbox file only (and Incoming_Mail, if present) and ignores the other files in the package.
If Mail doesn’t let you select Sent Messages.mbox in step 5 because it’s a package instead of a plain folder, rename Sent Messages.mbox to just Sent Messages (i.e. remove the .mbox suffix) so that it becomes a normal folder, and try again. You cannot do this directly in the Finder because removing a suffix by normal means causes the Finder to hide the suffix instead of renaming the file. To remove the suffix from the name, you must do File > Get Info (⌘I) on the file and change the name there.
If the mbox file is too big for Mail to handle it, however, you’ll have to break it into smaller pieces. You can do that with an MBOX Breaker Script available at Allan Sampson’s website, or with Emailchemy. The former will ignore the Incoming_Mail file that I mentioned previously, but you may try importing that file directly if it’s not too big or just ignore it if all your messages are in mbox. Also, if you removed the .mbox suffix from the name of the mailbox, you may need to add it back again for the script to recognize it.
If all is well and you don’t miss anything, the files on the Desktop can be deleted, although you may want to keep them for a while, just in case.
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user’s home folder. That is, ~/Library is the Library folder within the user’s home folder, i.e. /Users/username/Library.

  • Sent emails missing spaces

Hi i am currently using Apple Mail 2.1.3 to send and receive emails. Pretty much since the day i have been using this all my clients have complained that when they receive emails sent from me a lot of the words are joined together and missing spaces. But looking in my sent box they look fine to me.
having tested this a bit further in my office i am the only mac user but my colleagues use a PC and have no problem with sent emails.
Does anyone have a solution to this problem?
    thanks,
    Martin

Hi i changed the font to a standard default (arial) but no suck luck still. I can't have plain text emails as company policy to have a coloured footer.
Here is an example of how one of my clients received an email i sent them. Again most of my clients have this problem with me.

  • READING SENT EMAIL AND RETRIEVING DRAFTS

    Hello; another newby here........
I live in the US, have done so for 3 years, and have never had a problem with BT Yahoo Email. Thats all I use BT for. Obviously my BB provider is NOT BT, it is a local company, but this is clearly not a BB issue. I pay BT a very small monthly subscription for email service.
Using my laptop, I am receiving emails as normal. I can send emails as normal. And my corrrespondents are receiving them. But I cannot open any emails in my sent box. I also cannot retrieve half written draft emails. I can see my sent emails on my smart phone. So, something has gone wrong in my laptops settings. I have not consciously made any changes to my laptop. When I try to open emails from my sent box, a message appears on the right in a box under the heading ADBVERTISMENT and it reads exactly this:
    document write ("smart tag Error: malformed URL - st_rejected_query");
Can anybody offer any advise as to what may have happened? Like so many on here, I am not PC savvy, so it may be glaringly obvious. Thanks in advance for your tips.
    Peter

Its one of a number of Yahoo issues and there is very little BT Retail ISP can do about it.
As your ISP is not BT, all you can do is complain to Yahoo directly.
You may get some idea of the outstanding problems if you read some of the forum messages.
There are some useful help pages here, for BT Broadband customers only, on my personal website.

I have an iMac 3.2 GHz Intel Core i5 with 16 GB memory and 1.12 TB storage running Yosemite 10.10.1 & Outlook 2011 for Mac.  For a while, sent emails went to a sent folder on the iMac so I have a collection of sent emails there.  I have attempted to move those sent emails from the iMac to my email server (IMAP), but without success.  Is there a way to move them to a sent box on my server so I can see them on other devices?  Many thanks for any help you can provide.

Go to: Apple > System Preferences > Universal Access and in the Seeing tab make sure that the Display Enhance contrast: is set to Normal.
Alternatly, try holding the  ⌃⌥⌘ (control command alt) keys and then pressing the , (comma) key a few times.

  • In my MacBook Pro "sent" mailbox emails are listed by my email address but on my iPad the "sent" emails are listed by the sent email address?

On my MacBook Pro in the "sent" mailbox emails are listed by my email address but on my iPad the "sent" emails are listed by the sent email address.  Very hard to look at the address where the message was sent to?

After upgrading to IOS 7.0.3 the problems gone.
There is no mention of this being a bug or a fix so im thinking a software glitch was the issue.
When I look at a message in my inbox and it says "To: JB Manz" - I click my name and it shows my contact info including my 4 email addresses and the address the message was addressed to is highlighted blue, others all black.
Not sure how it got fixed but it's working like it used to.

  • In Mail where can i find my sent emails? How do I open this send box?

In Mail how do I open the send box? I need to find and forward my sent emails.

If you hold the iPad in landscape orientation you should see your email account id (or Mailboxes if you only have one email account set up on the iPad) shown top left. Tap on your account id (or Mailboxes), and then tap on Sent to show your Sent emails. You should then be able to select an email and Reply/Reply All/Forward/Print them via the arrow icon top right.

You would have to ask your email provider, we are the browser not the email service.

How do i delete sent emails in one go? There must be a few thousand sent items in there with large attachments. Of course it would be silly to do it one by one, so whats the quicker solution?

You could always try the Mark All thing again for sorting. Do the same as before, for delete (come to think of it, do it before you Delete All, otherwise you'll have nothing to sort). Having Marked All, instead of Delete try Sort. Does this make any difference?
