Modified voice recording that wont open

I was transferring a voice recording from quick voice to my mac using Diskaid. All successful but i decided to rename the numbered recording with an easy to find name and it changed into a document that will not open or change back to its original format.

Have you tried importing the wav files you did find to iTunes?

Voice recorder that's OSX compat.?

I know this question has come up before, but I haven't found an answer to my question.
I use an Olympus DS-330 voice recorder and it's Mac-compatible. It's got a limit, set to high-quality, of 4 hours or so, which isn't enough. It looks as though Olympus has basically abandoned Mac. (My recorder is four years old.)
I don't own an iPod and it seems like overkill for my purposes. Anyone have any recommendations for a Mac-compatible voice recorder that will record 8 hours on high-quality settings, and that's in the $150 and under range?

I switched this from "answered" because I'd like to hear more. Anyone have experience with the new Olympus OSX-compat. recorders, or other good Mac-compatible recorders?
I'm a reporter, so I'd especially like to hear how they work in that context -- one on one interviews, small groups w/ambient noise.
The DS-2 and WS-300M seem likely choices, but is the OSX integration smooth and useful? Olympus seems to have moved from using its proprietary DSS player to Windows media. Can you slow down playback on that?
Any other recorders worth using? I want at least 8-10 on a high-quality setting.

I have 2 macs connected to the .mac sync and until recently the flow of info between them (mostly iCal) has been smooth. Now it appears to not be working.

Just a floating green box that wont open.

Yep, another issue Speed Grade CC wont open. Just hangs in loading position.
Re installed it a few times. Have used the adobe cleaner tool still nothing?
Is it a bug going round? recent updates that only apply to specific settings!?
Essentially need speed grade to open.

Mozilla firefox will not open, and wen i tried to open the uninstall helper, that wont open either

when i tried to uninstall it, it doesnt open a window to let me uninstall it. when i tried to open it, it doesnt do anything. when i tried to use the uninstall helper, that doesnt open either. idk y Firefox is actin up, ive never had a problem with it before

Did you check your security software (firewall)?
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox without informing you about that, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process.

I have a digital performer file created on os9 that wont open in OSX the file looks like a unix file.

Is there a way to convert old os9 files so OSX can use them? The only apps that will open it is Text edit and Terminal.

Many document types created in OS 9 apps are openeable in OS X, depending on the OS X version.
For example, AppleWorks 6 documents are usable directly in OS X by using the OS X version of AppleWorks 6 (runs in all versions of OS X except Lion). In addition, AW6 text docs and spreadsheet docs can be opened in Pages and Numbers, respectively, in all versions of OS X.
Image files from OS 9 (jpeg, tiff, etc.) are openable by most image-capable apps in OS X.
As for a Digital Performer file, its format is probably proprietary; if that's the case, you'll need to acquire the OS X version of that app in order to open/use it in OS X.
If it's the program itself you talking about, rather than a document created by it -
No OS 9 app can be used directly in OS X, and such an app will often be reported by OS X as being a Unix executable.
In some versions of OS X (OS X 10.4 and earlier) OS 9 (9.1 minimum, 9.2.x is best) can be used as Classic in order to provide an environment in which many (but not all) OS 9 programs can be used. OS X 10.5 and later do not support Classic.

How do I make a simple voice recording that can be attached to an email?

I want to record a short message, mp3 or any format is fine, and attach it to an email. I've tried opening Garage Band to do it, and downloaded Audacity, but I have no idea how to use either one. I have a microphone that plugs into the audio port, and know how to switch to "use audio port for sound input" in preferences. But I want a simple command that says "start recording" instead of the complicated control panels I see in the two programs I've looked at.

No. Not unless you did a backup that included that voice memo, then you could restore from that backup.

I updated my phone but it will not restore so I have a bunch of apps that wont open and all my music and videos are gone.

Depending on what iPhone you have when you get to the connect to wifi you should be able to activate your device over cellular data. Try doing a hard reset by holding the home circle button an power button until an apple pops up and the go through the setup again and when you get to the wifi part a option should be setup with cellular data iPhone 4 and above should give this option sometimes doesn't like showing up that's why u have to do a hard reset first

I have a dozen or so PC Power photos that wont open. How can i open them?

I opereate an iMac desk toop computer. OSX 10.9.3. I have a dozen or so photos on my desktop, not in iPhoto dated 2000. I'm told i can't open these photos because my system no longer uses Power PC software. Is there any way I can open these?

Photos are not PowerPC, there is no such thing, It's possible that you have them set to open with a PowerPC program on your Mac which may or may not exist.

Ipad that wont open Safari

I am working on trying to resolve an issue with this Ipad. The link to the Safari internet app that attempts to open up and the quickly shuts down. Currently, the unit has version 4.3.4 of the O/S and it is an Ipad 1 (MB293LL). I have attempted to reset the unit through the reset app in the settings, but I am unsure of how long it should take.
Any fixes ?

Tap Settings > Safari
Then tap Clear History
Then tap Clear Cookies and Data
Then restart your iPad.
Hold the power button until "slide to power off" appears. Slide to power off. After it is off, press the power button to turn it back on.
I have attempted to reset the unit through the reset app in the settings, but I am unsure of how long it should take.
If a reset helped, it would work immediately.

Just another itunes that wont open!

**** those malware! Been playing the game of finding what its name is so that i can delete it but isn't it tricky. Yes i've opened the task manager but itunes soon disappears. What are some names of malware, spyware, virus's that have historically been causing the problem? I've found "ojzx.exe" to be a problem and cannot delete it permanently because 1.it is not located in the folder where system configuration utilities says it is, 2. I feel another program is lauching it whenever i reboot my computer, but do not know its name. Ahh, all for the love of music! help!

Have had several apps recently that wont open. tried reinstalling and even did a factory reset on my phone, htc m8. suggestions?

recently I have had Verizon mobile, facebook, weatherbug, kill shot, and minion rush all start to open and then close on their own. I've uninstalled them all and that didn't work. Took the sd card out since the Verizon reps thought that might be the problem. I ended up doing a factory reset on the phone, htc m8, and that didn't fix any of the issues. Any suggestions?

Advice on voice recorder attachments?

We have to replace an Olympus digital Voice Recorder that was lost.
Our primary goal is record lectures, classes, etc.
We have an iPod with color display (photos, no video) that was purchased late in 2005.
Are there any of these products that will work well for this purpose? I see iTalk (which seems to have vanished from the Belkin web site?!) iMic, iTalk, iPod Microphone Adapter, iPod Voice Recorder, TuneTalk... And that's just Belkin products...
Any recommendations for these products for recording lectures?

There's no bass settings adjustments on the ICD-AX412 Digital Voice Recorder. It is recommended to attach a tripod (not supplied) or opening the stand on the rear and placing the IC recorder at a more upright angle on a table when recording a music performance (e.g., concerts) so you can adjust the angle of the IC recorder and the built-in microphones more precisely.
Also, you cannot modify the Scene Select settings (page 34 of the manual). If you want to change the setting items, such as REC Mode (page 74), Mic Sensitivity (page 75), etc., for recording situations, use the menu to change each item of recording settings.
