Modify Default Workspace in LiveCycle Workbench

Hi All,
I need to modify default workspace(Applications are stored in Local Environment viz, C:\Users\username\Workbench ES2) instead want to store all the files in some other location, sounds the issue is silly but i am not able to find the option change it in workbench can somebody suggest on this.

Thanks Wasil i was looking for this stuff, i still wonder why Adobe has not created a GUI to switch to different workspace or atleast an workaround should have been provided in documentation or help section
well, An one more thing i wanted to ask here is there any possibility of using SVN plugin in workbench so that i can import complete Application from SVN.

Using Powershell in LiveCycle Workbench

Hello Everyone,
I am attempting to revamp a daily process that we do at my job. What I want to do is set up a workflow in workbench which will walk the user through the process step by step. As the user goes through the steps I want them to check the item off and then i want workbench to execute a powershell script or Batch file which will complete that part of the process. Once that script is run, the user can move on to the next step in the process. Is this something I can do? And if not can anyone recomend a software that can?

Yes sorry that is correct, I would be writing the process in workbench and the user would be using workspace. Thank you for the advice, I tried using that and the problem I am having is setting the directory that the .bat file is in. Can I run .bat files that are not on the LiveCycle Workbench Server? For example, I want to run a .bat file in another shared network drive.

When I try running this it uses the default workbench path. So when I try running this, it says that the file does not exist.

Also I am not to familiar with the Webservice Foundation Service, could you please provide an example of how to use this or a link to where I could read more about it?

LiveCycle Workbench ES2 - "Java(TM) Platform SE binary has stopped working" Error

Hi,
I am getting this error when I try to create a new process o open an existing process.
"Java(TM) Platform SE binary has stopped working"
The only option is to click on a "Close" button and end the LC Workbench ES2 program.
Also, when I try to open an existing form, it displays 'garbage' - a screenfull of control unrecognizable characters - instead of the form itself.
When this error comes up, I also get a pop-up window with a list of log entries / errors (please see attached: Java Platform SE binary has stopped working.jpg)
Environment:
Windows Vista Ultimate running on HP Desktop (e9107c Intel CORE 2 Quad Processor withy 8 GB RAM, 750GB HDD)
Downloaded and installed the Trial Version of LiveCycle ES2 package (Windows JBoss version)
The LiveCycle ES2 server is installed properly and is working with the following services. Are there any missing services?
LiveCycle Output ES2, LiveCycle Rights Management ES2, LiveCycle PDF Generator ES2 Evaluation, LiveCycle Process Management ES2, LiveCycle Workspace ES2, Applications and Services, LiveCycle ContentServices ES2, LiveCycle Forms ES2
I already had Adobe Acrobat Pro Extended 9.2 and the associated LiveCycle Designer instaleld prior to installing the Trial of LC ES2.
Basesd on the installation insttructions, I deleted the Designer ES from my Acrobat Pro Extended and instaleld the LC Workbench ES2.
Now I don't see a seprate entry for the LC Designer ES2 anymore on my Start >> Programs.
And th newly installed LC Workbench is not working
Any help in making the workbench 'work' is greatly appreciated.
Are there any tests we can do to troubleshoot this?

Here is some additional information that may be helpful in identifying the cause for this problem.
Here is the Exact ERROR :
Java (TM) Platform SE binary has stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.
Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
Button: "Close Program".
On clicking that button, the error window goes away; the main LC WB ES2 program also closes; but a long error window appears. The full screenshot was attached in my original message. The top few lines are reproduced below.

4. I am ble to create an Application, a folder, and a Form
5. I am able to invoke the LC Designer ES2 from within Workbench (while creating a form)
6. I am able to "invoke" an existinmg sample process in a web browser (not within workbench environment)
The main problem is...
I am NOT able to create a new process or open existing process using workbench.
Since it gives Java Platform SE error, I checked the versions of various Java Run Time Environments on my pc.
Properties of javaw.exe in different folders:
1. My Computer's JRE (common to all apps)

I tried to use the same versions of JRE in all these folders; that didn't work..
I hope someone can throw more light on this and find the real cause.

How to change default workspace in WSAD?

I need ur help? Please tell me How to change the default workspace in WSAD.

the -setworkspace command line arg doesn't show up with that search on my copy of WSAD version 5.0.0.2. We typically have 3 or 4 workspaces running, and of course everybody checked the box the first time out ;)
We did search extensively (google, tech boards, config details, etc), and finally got the arg from a tech call to IBM. If they really want to run a bunch of different workspaces, this is an easy way, but the arg for it wasn't all that easy to find.

Edit the default workspace and actions for a group of computers?

I am a high school yearbook teacher, and I have a group of Windows 7 desktops running CS6. I want to replace the default workspace and actions on them to increase productivity. Where would I place the workspace and action files on the computers so they would be applied to all the users on the computer?

I want to purchase a Macmini with SL Server and create a photo competition solution for a camera club. The solution needs to be able to accept uploaded images and the solution needs to let the user associate a set of images to a competition and from there the solution needs to make sure that the filename, format, size and embedded metadata is correct before storing and processing them further. Friends I have talked to say I need a classic CMS solution so I may need to investigate instead of my planned AppleScript/Automator solution.
Also - thank you for offering to develop, but I had kinda planned to do this myself to build some knowledge and also get to know the server better.
Anyone else using the SnowLeo server for a solution like this?

LiveCycle Workbench ES2 crashing on Win 7

I have installed LiveCycle workbench on my Win 7 PC. Every time I try to open a process in process designer, it crashes with messae 'Java(TM) Platform SE binary has stopped working'

Have you installed Microsoft Groove? I've got the same issue when both Workbench & Designer installed on the same PC.
If so, uninstall Microsoft Groove and try again.

CS3 Bridge - Filter keyboard shortcuts on in Default Workspace?

Here's a annoying differences I notice between CS2 & CS3 Bridge, or am I missing something related to Filter keyboard shortcuts in CS3 Bridge?
I'm used to using keyboard shortcuts to filter the Bridge Contents window, i.e. pressing Command+Option+1 to show just 1-star rated files. But this kind of keyboard shortcut only works when the Filter tab is visible, as in the Default Workspace view. If I in the Thumbnail workspace view none of the filter keyboard shortcuts have any effect. Must the Filter palette be visible for the shortcuts to work or am I doing something wrong?

Changing default workspace removes reference to AIR SDK

Hi
When I change my default workspace to a custom workspace, it removes the reference to the AIR SDK under Preferences -> Flash Builder - > Installed AIR SDK, and won't allow me to add it back in.
The text field is not editable, so I can't type the file location. It should be set to:
/Applications/Adobe Flash Builder 4.7/eclipse/plugins/com.adobe.flash.compiler_4.7.0.345990/AIRSDK
but as you can see in attached screenshot, it appears blank, which results in build errors.
Anyway I can change this?

Hi Dan,
I checked this on my machine. In my custom workspace, evrthing seems to work fine. I am able to import AS projects created in my default workspace. Also, i am able to successfully create new AS and AS mobile projects in my custom workspace. Reference to the AIR SDK is intact and projects are compiling fine.
Is there anything else you did before/after switching the workspace? Probably, changed the installed AIR SDK structure or something similar?

Yes, XML could be generated as here : http://www.adobe.com/devnet/livecycle/articles/building-xml.html
You can merge this XML with the form template and generate the form.

What is the right Community for Questions about Adobe LiveCycle Workbench?

We purchased Abode LiveCycle Premium Print. It included a product called StreamServe which we planned to use to merge xml templates, data, and call a StreamServe webservice to generate a pdf file. It seems theStreamServe webservices are not up to that job but I suspect that Abode LiveCycle Workbench may be able to do what we want.
Bottom line: I can't determine the proper community\newsgroup to send the above issue to. Help!

First explain, I am a Chinese Windows user, my English fighting is only 5（very poor）.Then I will try to use some simple English to tell you my problem.
I use the method used in windows8 to modify default installation path of WindowsApps,but defeated.
Why I want to modify default installation path of WindowsApps?
Because when I installed software that is suitable for the traditional model, my C disc had only 10GB space.
I think Win8.1 is perfect.And I like the traditional mode and Metro interface.(I heard Win9 can’t use two modes at the same time,but I think simultaneous use of two modes the operation is very nice.)
The method used in windows8:
First,Enter WinPE,create a file that is the mirror image of WindowsApps in D disc.
Then,Enter Win8.1,make User get thechanges to the “Appx” folder under theregistry.
Last,Amended registry master key of “packageRoot”as “D:/WindowsApps”
This operation can be completed in Win8,but default in Win8.1.
So,could you tell me how to modify default installation path of WindowsApps?
If it’s impossible ,I hope Microsoft team could solve it.

In my opinion it's a bad idea to change this, as most software is set to install on drive C: and not all of it may be using the proper CSIDL system calls to get the locations.
You can be sure the majority of testing is done with applications installing in the system default location on C:.
A much better idea is to save a few Yuan and buy a much larger SSD for the system drive, then use the default drive C: locations for the operating system and installed programs.

SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio - change default workspace

Hello!
How can I change the default workspace?
When I start the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio there is no prompt to change the workspace dir. But in Preferences->General->Startup and Shutdown Prompt for workspace on startup is set.
SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio automatically load this workspace dir: @user.home/workspace (sit in config.ini)
Then I have to Switch workspace and restart SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio.
How is it possible to show the Prompt for workspace on startup?

Yes. Agreed. But all previous Flexbuilder releases (betas and full releases) have always had their default workspaces within the "My Documents" folder.
It just threw me a bit when I created a flex project (accepted the default project file location) and it wasn't where I thought it would be. Its usually the My Documents folder so I just wanted to know why change? Thanks

There is no "default workspace." You'll have to create one using your admin credentials.

LiveCycle Workbench ES2 keeps freezing up

I have Adobe LiveCycle Workbench ES2 Version: 9.5.0.0.20100908.1.247189 installed on a 64-bit Windows 7 machine with 8GB of RAM and it has been getting really bad about freezing up. At first, it would just get hung up every once in a while, but now it freezes practically every time that I make a process change. My sole job is using Workbench, so this problem is seriously decreasing my productivity. Does anyone know what the problem may be? When it get non-responsive and I have to force quit the application, I see the following stack trace:

Try to increase the workbench memory management settings:
Goto:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe LiveCycle Workbench ES2\workbench\workbench.ini
Change the 3rd and 4th lines to below:
-Xms256m
-Xmx1024m
