Modify Form Number at Bottom of Every Page

How do I modify the form number at the bottom of every page of a LiveCycle form that I did not create.
The form number appears to be below the table that contains all of the form fields and form-field labels and is on the same line as the page number and name of the company that created the form. Thanks.

If the form number field is placed in the Master Page, then you need to change it only in one place.
But if it is placed in each of the page, then you need to modify in every page.
To find out where the field is, first select the field and verify in the Heirarchy tab where the field is placed.

A I do not though understand what a WP document is.
Where do you open that?
Neither can I find a table at the Tool Palette, I´m
afraid...
WP = word processor document (ie. not aspreadsheet, drawing, etc.)
Show the Tools palette by clicking the red toolbox icon at the lower left of the document window.
The Table creation tool is one of the group of four at the top of the Tools palette: Text tool, Spreadsheet tool, Paint tool and Table creation tool.
Click the Table (creation) tool, then drag a rectangular space the approximate size of the table you want. When you release the mouse button, you'll see a dialogue in which you can specify the number of columns and rows in the table. When you click OK, the table will be placed in your document as a Floating object.

Although it might be possible to accomplish this, the game would not be worth the candle.
Automatic numbering is available only for "paragraphs" and in the preset "Outline" styles. When "paragraph" numbering is set, it applies only to contiguous "paragraphs." If you change the format to allow unnumbered paragraphs, then change back to 'numbers', the numbering is reset to 1 for the first paragraph of the new set.
("paragraph" in AppleWorks's understanding of the word is "all the text up to the next return character.")
You might be able to define an "Outline" style based on one of the three provided Outline styles (Diamond, Harvard, Legal) that would label Level 1 paragraphs with number and apply no label to paragraphs at other levels. If successful, this should automatically renumber the headings if they were inserted as top level paragraphs.
See "styles", "outline" and "editing styles" in AppleWorks Help for instructions on how to do this.

Try to do that:
create a new WP document
insert a page break so the doc will contain two
pages.
Create a table from the Tool Palette.
You may set the row number to a huge value: try 100
for instance.
The table will cross the page break.
In fact, defining a table from the Tool Palette is
not the same thing that defining one from the menu
item.
The menu item creates an inline table (which of
course is unable to cross a page break) while the
Tool Palette define a floating one which may be
higher.
We may do that. Is it a good thing is another
question because the application is unable to cut the
table by itself so the printed result will be odd.

Footer at the bottom of every page

I need to place a footer in every page of an application. The footer can be a jspf or html file.
What I want is to place the footer after the last item of each page (can be a table, text field, etc).
I would like it to render correctly both in IE and Firefox.
I need the JSP code clip so I can place it in every jsp because the project has ~150 jsp's.

You could use 'Page Fragment Box'. Check the online help for "Page Fragment Box".
'This component enables you to include a page fragment in a page. A page fragment is a separate, reusable part of a page that can be included in any number of pages. For example, you might want to put a common a visual element like a header graphic in a page fragment and then include it in all the pages in an application......'

How do I stop Firefox from showing that little box at the bottom of every page every time I go from item to item on the screen. It is annoying and reminds me of Bing and all of those other interfering and annoying so called help features.

No matter what site I am on Firefox wants to provide me information about the page or features. I do not want that. I just want to be able to look and move on. Although it is a little thing, I find it annoying and very controlling. I realize that there is no sense of privacy on the internet, but at least let me have that illusion. Furthermore, I hate things popping up while I am reading something. Let me make that choice, I do not need you to make that choice for me. Thanks.

The easiest way is to use the Status-4-Evar add-on. With it you can choose to not display any of the status messages, or display them in the add-ons bar or location bar instead.

Need to have static text on every page of a MS Excel report exported from SSRS

I need to place an object with a brief static text message in a report using SQL Server Reporting Services 2008 R2.
When that report is exported to MS Excel from Report Manager and viewed, this static text object must appear "once" at the bottom of every page without using "print preview."
Furthermore, it must appear only "once" on every page regardless of both the number of groups as well as the number of records in each group.

Hi Mike,
By default, Excel does not have a concept of a "page" in "Normal" view. So when we export the report to excel and open the file, Excel automatically hides the footers as they are displayed in "Normal" view. Since this issue is relevant to Excel, if we want
to see the page footer in Excel, we can try to switch to "Page Layout" view in the View Tab. Just as you said, they also shown up while printing.

Applying unique dynamic stamp to every page

I am trying to add a dynamic stamp to the bottom of every page (over 70,000 pages) that has the name of the file on the stamp, and also is able to apply a number on that stamp. I am able to get the stamp to apply to every page, but it is not grabbing my filename. My bigger issue is seeing if it is even possible for adobe to increment the number of the stamp for each page that it applies a stamp to i.e. AA.001, AA.002, AA.003, BB.001, BB.002 etc.

How to add footer at the end of every page

Hi,
I need to add some text at the bottom of every page in my application. I have made a footer region where i have put that text component. I have simply included that footer region as the last element of every jspx page. This shows the footer at the end of the content and not at the end of page(which is required).
Using css like position:absolute;bottom:0px; shows the text at the bottom of bowser window, not page(so, problem for pages having scoll).
It is not feasible to make any changes in each jspx page. So, what is the way out to achieve this by keeping the change limited to pagefooter region page and/or ss.css
Note: I am using Jdev10.1.3

With JDev 11g, you can create pageTemplate however, in 10g though support for page template is not available, you can achieve basic functionalities like this through web template. See sample here:

Display a field on every page

Hello
I have created a layout using BI Publisher Layout editor (not an RTF template) and have an employee number field which is in a repeating group with other employee details. The report displays 1 employee per page and I need the employee number to appear on every page of the report on its own at the end of the page without other details. How can I achieve this?
Is there a way of making a field to appear on every page in BI Publisher but not as a header or footer? Thanks

Page Number does not display on every page

I am having a problem showing the page number on every page. I can get it to show on the first page if I place the XML tags at the top OR if I place the XML tags at the bottom then it shows only on the last page.
I tried to use the <?body-start?><?body-end?> tags and placing the page number in front of or behind these. I have tried to insert the native word page number functionality as well as <?fo:page-number?> and get the same results.
Any help would be greatly appreciated -

I have inserted the page number in the RTF and it definitely shows up on the first page but not on any of the following pages.
As a side note - if I use Word's header and put anything up there it does not show up at all on the template.

Dynamically modifying the number of Form detail rows

A challenge for you all!
I am building a product details system in Portal forms.
One of the screens is a Product Ingredients form with Product as the master block and ingredients as the Detail block. There can be between 1 and 20 ingredients in any 1 product and as these all have to sum to a volume percentage of 100% the client would like to see all ingredients for a product on 1 screen and not have to do Next/Previous to see them all.
As you increase detail rows on a master detail form the performance of the form decreases dramatically so I would like to minimise the number of detail rows displayed for each product to maximise performance.
To this end I wish to dynamically modify the number of detail rows displayed to match the number of ingredients on a product as that product is queried.
I can handle figuring out how many rows I want to set the page to but have not been able to figure out how to change the number of detail rows displayed at run time.
Anyone know how (or if!) this is possible ?

The rownum pseudo-column hold the number of the row but it doesn't work like you expect. It is assigned before sorting for example and it is not absolute. SQL conceptually deals with sets and sets have no inherent order. See http://www.oracle.com/technology/oramag/oracle/06-sep/o56asktom.html
If you want to have an absolute number in a row you will need to maintain it yourself with PLSQL code.

How do I create a text box or form field on the top of every page of a pdf in XI Pro for titles?

I generate pdf content from another program and then in Acrobat XI Pro I want to add titles to each page.
I'm thinking I can use form fileds and duplicate across all pages but how do I make each form filed unique?
Or could i add a form field to a background and then apply the background to every page in the pdf?

This type of thing is probably best done with a script, either by adding a uniquely named field to each page or by spawing a template page that contains just the form field (like your last idea). There's not a built-in method for doing this. If you add a blank page to the beginning of the document, create the field in the location you want, and make the page a template, you can run the following script in the interactive JavaScript console (Ctrl+J):
// Get a reference to the template
var t = getTemplate("Field");
// Spawn the template on each page, automatically renaming the fields
for (var i = 1; i < numPages; i += 1) {
t.spawn({nPage: i, bRename: true, bOverlay: true});
To run the code, select it all in the console and press Ctrl+Enter, or Enter on the numeric keypad.
To make a page a template in Acrobat 11, make sure you're on the page you want to make a template and select: Tools > Document Processing > Page Templates
and enter a name. I used a name of "Field" in the example above, but you can use anything.
To create a blank page, you can use the following script:
newPage({nPage: 0, nWidth: 8.5 * 72, nHeight: 11 * 72});
for an 8.5"x11" page. Adjust the numbers to match whatever your page size is. It will be added to the beginning of the document and you can then add the field and make it a template. Once the fields have been added, you can remove the template page.

How to insert company logo and page number on every page except the first page?

Hi, I am creating a newspaper and I've inserted the page number and company name on every page using the master page (you know the basic method).
Problem is I don't want the page number or the logo to appear on the first page, how can I do this?
Or will I have to copy and paste it on each page instead...? I'd rather not.
I'd appreciate any help I can get.
P.S. I'm using CS5 and obviously I'm talking about InDesign.

Adobe Form Repeat a Subform Every Page

Hello Adobe Forum,
I'm an SAP user and am creating an Adobe form (my first). I posted this in an SAP forum, but have yet to receive any feedback whatsoever so I thought it may be better to go to the Adobe experts themselves. I've run into an Adobe issue and am just spinning and spinning trying different techniques to make it work. Any hints would be greatly appreciated.
In my content area I have three subforms. The first subform is positioned, the fields have to be placed correctly. The second subform is fundamentally a table header for the third subform, which is the rows of the data. All three subforms are wrapped in another subform that is flowed.
Why would I do it like this? Well, the table in the third subform has control levels so it merges like rows nicely in this way when the first column rows are the same...
So the first page of my document would look like this...which is what I want.
H is repeated for every page. So it is on the Master page. That's easy.
1 is the 'sub-header' and should only be on the first page. This works.
2 looks like a header for the table, but is really it's own table because of formatting requirements and the values are dynamic. It looks nice, but shows up only on page one.
3 is the data table. It works great too.
Page one looks great. Page two looks like this... I can't get part 2 from above to repeat for every new page.
I have tried numerous approaches, but nothing seems to work. I really need to stick with the control levels, and that keeps me from having one nice table with a header that repeats. Perhaps I've approached this fundamentally wrong?
Here is my layout in case that helps at all explain my issue. I truly appreciate any help, this is the last hurdle on my form and then it's done. I'm sure a seasoned Adobe person may quickly see the err of my ways.

Not a solution I'm very fond of, but it works. I created a second page and put the table header on the master page there and moved the content area down a bit. I'd still like to force the subform to simply repeat, but I've got to move on.
