Modify Generic Connector
Hi,
I had a Generic Connector working properly using the Database_App_Tables_9.1.0.5.0 connector.
Now I add some childForms and the provisioning process is getting an error.
Can I modify the GCD_XML field on GCD table to insert the childFields and solve this issue?
Now I have something like that:

OIM SPML provisioning task generic connector
We need to know how could get a custom message response from generic connector. Right now we are using a message like:

</addResponse>
We want to process the message with different status code because with the generic connector always get success when we response with a good formed spml response. We have tryed changing the status to different codes without success.
Is there some sample code or more information to this issue anywhere?

Error while provisioning a resource through generic connector
Hi All,
I installed the DBAT 9.1.0.5.0 connector after copying the mysql-connector-java-5.1.21-bin.jar file in the ext folder of the java installation that i use on the OIM machine. Now when i provision this generic connector resource through the resources tab, it stays in the provisioning stage. When i look at resource history, i see that the create user and child tables inserts are shown as rejected. Also the error when i open the rejected cause is:

1) DB_STATUS.. error was coming since the lookup I gave there was not actually created in the database due to a refresh I did while creating it effectively deleting all the entered data.
2) The error in logs was coming due to wrong input of the GTC database provider during the creation of IT Resource. -

How can I delete a generic connector? I have created a generic connetcor for SPML web service....but due to some wrong input in a text field I am getting OIMAPI error. To prevent my log with this error I want to delete that connector or do I change that value from outside as due to that error I can not edit that connector by selecting manage.
Thanks in advanceIn a request based provisioning, the signature/login of the last approver is used to commence provisioning. Hence when XELSYSADM is the last approver you dont have any problems with Provisioning. What I'd suggest is, instead of using tcDataProvider in your provisioning adapters, use the signature based login code to get a handle to the various interfaces required by your prov adapter. This will ensure that that even though the last approver is not xelsysadm, the proviisoning will still kick off.
Also do not alter the assignment of system validation task. -
Adding a user to group in OID based on provisioning of a generic connector

I have OIM 11g installed. Also I have created a generic connector and I provision it to the users. Now based on this, I was thinking of attaching a task in the process definition of the Generic connector I had created such that when the Create User happens, then I can get the task I created triggered so that I can add a user to a group in OID. I searched for some codes I could use for this but failed. Can someone please guide me as to what APIs and method calls I need to use to add a user in OID to a group. The group will be a static name and hence will not change over time. Say the name of the group is GenericConn so when I provision the generic connector to the user, in the OID the user's dn should be added as a Member to this GenericConn group present there. Please guide me.

However when I provision the generic resource to the user, I get the task as rejected and the following error in the Resource History:

Generic connector with webservice and SPML provider

I have created a Generic connector in Oracle Identity server successfully with Webservice transport porvider and SPML payload provider. But when I am trying to create a user using this connector I am getting following error in OIM server log:

All I'm trying to do is create a SOAP web service (in this case with Java 6, but that's not fundamental) that can intercept that message and grab the SPML request (and then do what I have to do).
I tried with something like the following code:

Generic Connector - Web Services - Format provider other than SPML?
Hi.
Using OIM, I need to "talk" with Windows Sharepoint [Web] Services in order to provisioning an user (actualy, I need to associate a user to a Sharepoint Group).
To do that, I'm exploring the Generic Technology Connector capabilities.
From what I understand reading the documentation, the target Web Services have to "understand" the "SPML" format provider standard, and I didnt have found any evidences that the Sharepoint Services are SPML compliant.
So, my questions are:
1) Anyone knows of a GTC talking with Web Services non-SPML compliant (in particular, Microsoft-branded Web Services)?
2) Are there alternative ways of doing what I need (using the Generic Connector... or not)?
Thanks in advance.the way we did it was to get the wsdl of the service you need to talk to.
try and create the client stubs with axis or xfire (depending on which version of axis you may need other than rpc/encoded format) create the standalone client to test you service.
once you get it working take you client code, jar it up into the ThirdParty directory along with the required jars for the service implementation.
then write your adapter using the code from the your client jar.

Modifying DB connector through the design console
Hi,
I have installed the DB connector through the GTC feature in OIM 9.1.0.2. No modifications are required for the reconciliation and it works fine, how ever, I need to attach my own adapter for provisioning of a new user. Is it alright if I go ahead and modify the process definition through the design console, since Oracle documentation and Oracle support asks us not to modify the connector through the design console? Also, can this connector be exported and imported like the rest of the connectors or do I have to create it in every new environment?

SupreethaIt will work but if you redefine the GTC connector any changes will be overwritten.
On the support side the support for making changes to any artifacts created by GTC has varied by support person and time. It is not officially supported (most of the time).

How to provision an account on OUD LDAP using LDAP generic connector?
I'm almost a newbie regarding OIM (R2 11.1.2.0.0) and I'm trying to learn it, so I think this is definitely a newbie question (please forgive me).
At present I'm trying to provision an user from OIM to an Application Instance of Oracle Unified Directory 11gR2 (11.1.2.0.0).
I've carefully followed the path to install generic LDAP connector (ODSEE/OUD/LDAPV3 Connector 11.1.1.5.0), to create IT Resource and Application Instance and to run Lookup reconciliation jobs.
No error messages here.
Then, using OIM Self Service GUI, I've created an user and asked for "Request Accounts".
After Add to Cart and Checkout, on Cart Details in Catalog I tried to define "Container DN" as pointing to "ou=people,dc=example,dc=com" (using ODSM interface I've previously created ou "people" under the base container "dc=example,dc=com").
I've seen an Oracle example suggesting to search for "MYOUD~people", where MYOUD is the Application Instance name, but in my case the search doesn't return anything.
Same thing if I try to write "ou=people,dc=example,dc=com" into "Container DN" field.
So I've left that field blank and started provisioning anyway but on the Account tab the Status for that operation is since then stuck to "Provisioning" (that doesn't surprises me ...).
Any hints?
Which mistakes I've made? Had I forgot something?
How could I check if OUD server is correctly integrated with OIM?
I tried to check it using Design Console, too, but I'm not skilled enough with the tool.
Thanks.After reconciliations, Lookup.LDAP.Organization displays the correct value (Code="25~ou=people,dc=example,dc=com") but for Lookup.LDAP.Group the expected value ("cn=grouptest1,dc=example,dc=com") is missing (empty list, that one is the only group I've created so far in my test environment).
By the way, after having created OU and group I didn't restarted neither OUD server nor OIM server but I don't think it's mandatory to do that and, anyway, at least the OU value is shown.

OIM 11g R1 - Modifying a Resource Erases Custom Process Task ???
I've created a Generic Resource in OIM that uses the Database Applications Table connector 9.1.0.5.0.
Then I add my own process tasks through Design Console under "Process Management -> Process Definitions". On each custom process task I've attached my own custom adapters, which I created through "Development Tools -> Adapter Factory" in Design Console. These custom adapters use methods from my Java code. My Java jar file is located in "Oracle_IDM1/server/JavaTasks".
Now here is the issue:
Whenever I modify this resource in OIM under "Configuration -> Manage Generic Connector" (E.g Changing reconciliation type from Full to Incremental), all my custom process tasks get deleted.
What is the reason for this? Is there a solution for this problem?This is indeed a major flaw for GTC. Below I found this issue in a Oracle doc.

Customization work done on objects of a generic technology connector would be overwritten if you perform a Manage Generic Technology Connector operation.
Description:
You can use the Design Console to customize connector objects that are automatically created during generic technology connector creation. However, after you customize connector objects, if you perform a Manage Generic Technology Connector operation, then all the customization done on the connector objects would be overwritten. Therefore, Oracle recommends that you to apply one of the following guidelines:
Do not use the Design Console to modify generic technology connector objects.
The exception to this guideline is the IT resource. You can modify the parameters of the IT resource by using the Design Console. However, if you have enabled the cache for the GenericConnector and GenericConnectorProviders categories, then you must purge the cache either before or after you modify IT resource parameters. See "Purging the Cache" in the Oracle Fusion Middleware System Administrator's Guide for Oracle Identity Manager for information about running the PurgeCache utility.
If you use the Design Console to modify generic technology connector objects, then do not use the Manage Generic Technology Connector feature to modify the generic technology connector.
Connector objects that are automatically created are not deleted even if the generic technology connector creation process fails. -
GRC 10 want to extend our ruleset for use by another connector
Hello. We migrated our RAR ruleset from 5.3 to 10.0 and it is working for on our original connector (our SBX). Now we would like to use that same ruleset for a new connector (our QAS). I do not see a way to do any mass maintenance for this. There is a mass maintance for functions where I can add a new system, but it appears I have to do it one function at a time. Is there a better way? I thought about transforming my original export files to modify the connector name, but wasn't sure if that would work since connector isn't one of the fields offered for transformation.

In the meantime I figured out how to load. I took the export files created in 5.3 and manually modified (witha global replace in Notepad) the connector then ran GRAC_DATA_MIGRATION for only the FUNCTION_ACTIONdata.dat and FUNCTIONAL_PERMISSIONdata.dat (append mode selected). Then I generated the ruleset, and that seemed to do the trick. Thanks for your input! -
GTC connectors and SPML compliant

I am trying to integrate a target application using GTC connector transport providers as web services and Format providers as SPML and even i have to create a dummy web service which is compliant with SPML so that it can be integrated with OIM.
can any one pl help me to create a Dummy webservice compliant OIM SPML?
Web services shud be created using Java.The web service needs to store data the in txt file and send a response to OIM.Make sure you are exporting the Generic Connector type object, and not the Resource Object. There are configurations that only come when you export this way. Otherwise you only get the resource and process definition workflow, and none of the configurations.
You might also need to export the provider definition as well and import.

GTC Connectors migration in OIM11gR2

We had exported entire GTC resource object and when we tried to import in another env, we see dependency errors on GTC Schedulers even though the schedulers exists in the xml.
What are the steps to migrate GTC Connectors(Flatfile and DBAPP) from one environment to another?
Do I have to import GTC Schedulers first and then Resource Object,Process Form and Process Definition? Does the reconciliation and provisioning work after import without issues?

OIM 11g+Database Application Tables Resource Connectors+ MS SQL Server 2008
Hello Experts:
I installed DBAT 9.1.0.5.0 Resource Adapter on Linux 64 bit server using OIM 11g, I try to create Generic Connectors to configure Target Resource for MS SQL Server 2008 and after entering all the information on the second screen and click continue the screen gets stuck. This does not throw any kind of error nor any error msg are written to Log files. It's been difficult to debug the problem or know the root cause since there is no error msg thrown. No data is written from the sql server.
I can ping to the sql server and port are open.
Do we have to do any kind of setting on sql server to make this work?
Does any one have ideas? Did any one face any issues like this before?
Has any one worked with OIM connections with SQL server?
Just throwing all these question as I am running out of ideas.
