    I have a dashboard which contain a few charts. But the legend in the charts is exceeding the length of the charts. Is there a way by which I can wrap the text of the legend within the chart area? I have not been able to find anything in the chart properties.
    Any solution or workaround proposed will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Chart Legend covers chart !!

    Post Author: TimboK
    CA Forum: Charts and Graphs
    I have a chart which is showing support calls from sites over 6 months. The 'on change of'  is Month no. and site, the value is Number of calls. Over the 6 months there have been calls from 54+ sites. The trouble I have is that the legend is so big it overlaps and covers the chart! I have tries setting the legend to the smallest text but this did not help. I tried setting the minimum so that 10 was the lowest result but the legend is not affected.Is it possible to have the legend on another page ? The chart is in a sub-report of a main report.

    What happens if you try the right-mouse "auto arrange" option?
    If all else fails, this could probably be easily solved with our CRChart add-in library. It has an option to limit the legend to be a single column so it can never "overflow". It would just print as many legend items as fit in the one column and then put in some "more data" arrows to indicate that more legend items are charted but not shown in the current legend.

  • Get colors and text from Legend or chart?

    It seems to be impossible ( or at least I cannot find a way to ) to wrap the labels in the Legend control.
    so I will have to write my own legend control that can do this.
    In order to create a Legend control I will need to get a array of the colors used in the Chart ( or legend) and apply these to the new legend control. Can anyone advise how I can do this?
    thanks

    Hi Natasha
    I have tried:
    for each(var item in myChart.series.legendData ){
    trace("series item is : " + item);
    And
    for each(var item in myChart.series.items){
    trace("series item is : " + item);
    UPDATE: I have also tried:
    trace ("legendData is : " + myChart.series[0].legendData);
    trace("items is : " + myChart.series[0].items);
    for each(var item:Array in myChart.series[0].legendData){
    trace("series item is : "+ item);
    And again the trace statement in the for each loop is never reached, and the other trace statements are empty (besides the initial string), yet I can see in the variables window of Eclipse that there should be data.
    And I have a breakpoint on the trace statement, yet in both cases the breakpoint is never reached. I am not getting any error message.
    Also, when editing, when I put the '.' after myChart.series I do not get either legendData or items in the 'intellisense', just methods. Perhaps the intellisense is very limited.
    Anyway, can you advise on another way to get the colors and labels from a chart so I can create my own legend, which can wrap the labels?
    Many thanks

    Hi,
    I would like to know how to put legend  positoning the name inside the chart above marker instead of left botton and right.
    for example in the bubble sample of chart.rpt located in Features example, i would like to have Distrito Federal located above the Circle marker.
    If not is that possible by progamming with the model object of crystal

    I think you can change the data labels but not the legend
    i want to include the name "Distrito Federal" inside the blue bubble

  • Legend does not display with Line Chart

    I have a query that I wrote with Bex Query Designer v3.5.11 for a BW 3.5 system.  When I click Graphical Display tab in the query results, "Column Chart" shows a legend, showing which colors mean what.  However, when I switch to a different type of chart, such as Line Chart, Legend does not appear.  Anyone know how to make this appear?  without the legend, the chart isn't very useful.

    You can create a Web Template, Drag a Chart.
    1) Assign a query to the chart
    2) Right click over the Chart and select Edit Chart
    3) Select Chart Designer.
    4) Look for "Series" in the Overview Window
    5) Expand the Series.
    6) Activate the checkbox "Show Labels" on all the
       series that you want to have values.

  • Pie Chart with Legend

    Hey Experts,
    I have a small issue but cannot seem to find the solution. I have a pie chart with legends which I want to show side by side (horizontally). First pie chart and then legends. My requirement is that when the window is resized, the pie chart should also resize. I am able to show the chart and legends horizontally but when the legends list is long, the pie chart is always aligned in the center vertically. I tried setting all properties such as verticalAlign = "top", verticalCenter = "false", tried putting pie chart and legends in a separate VBox but nothing seems to work. Below is the code snippet.
    I believe others would have faced this problem. Can someone help?
    <mx:HBox width="100%" height="100%" verticalAlign="top" verticalCenter="false">
         <mx:VBox width="100%" verticalAlign="top" verticalCenter="false">
              <mx:PieChart id="pieChart" width="100%" height="100%" showDataTips="true" minWidth="200" minHeight="200" verticalCenter="false"/>
         </mx:VBox>
         <mx:VBox width="100%" verticalAlign="top" verticalCenter="false">
              <mx:Legend width="100%" height="100%" dataProvider="{pieChart}"/>
         </mx:VBox>
    </mx:HBox>

    Hi Dajji,
    Here is the code which resolves the problem...
    Note: In the code below I have removed the percentage width and height for PieChart.....that resolves the problem.....but the thing here is as you resize
    your browser window the piechart width and height will not change accordingly...? Do you need PieChart to change its dimensions as your browser window
    resizes...???
    However if you specify width="100%" and height="100%" for PieChart you never gonna acheive the PieChart to be vertically alined to top.....why because
    as you specified width="100%" and height="100%" for PieChart it occupies the total dimensions of the VBox but the actual visible portion dimensions are
    less... because within the VBox you also have the legends so Flex will assign the sizes proportionately....for PieChart and Legends..
    Hope you got my point...So you should remove the width="100%" and height="100%" for PieChart then you can acheive what you needed...

  • Pie Chart and legend symbols

    Hi forum,
    who can help me to customize legend symbols in pie chart?
    Thanks in advanced

    Look at the last lines in caspian.css
    .pie-legend-symbol.chart-pie {
        -fx-background-radius: 8px;
        -fx-padding: 8px;
        -fx-border-color: null;
    }You can provide your own css for pie-legend-symbol.chart-pie to style the symbol how you like.
    If you need more control, do a css lookup after the chart has been shown on the stage:
    Set<Node> items = chart.lookupAll("Label.chart-legend-item");
    int i = 0;
    // these colors came from caspian.css .default-color0..4.chart-pie
    Color[] colors = { Color.web("#f9d900"), Color.web("#a9e200"), Color.web("#22bad9"), Color.web("#0181e2"), Color.web("#2f357f") };
    for (Node item : items) {
      Label label = (Label) item;
      final Rectangle rectangle = new Rectangle(10, 10, colors);
    final Glow niceEffect = new Glow();
    niceEffect.setInput(new Reflection());
    rectangle.setEffect(niceEffect);
    label.setGraphic(rectangle);
    i++;
    Here is a full example: https://gist.github.com/1422628

  • Charts Without Legend - Still Allocates "Space" for the Legend.

    Hello,
    I created a charted and am able to disable the legend through chart.setLegendVisible(false); However, when I put my chart into the stage, there is this "blank" area beneath the chart where the legend would normally go.
    I tried:
    chart.setPrefHeight(###} but all that does it make the graph area of my chart squished and doesn't remove that blank area.
    Is there a way to get ride of this space that the chart allocates for the legend?
    Thanks.

    If you delete photos from your iPad, they will also be deleted from iCloud and you'll lose them.  Also, having additional iCloud space won't give you any more space on your device.   You can't move any data to iCloud and delete it from your device.  All you iCloud data is also on you device, and if you delete it from your device, it is also deleted from iCloud.
    One option to free up space for the update is to delete the music from your iPad, then sync it back using iTunes after you update.   (You can delete it all by going to Settings>General>Usage, wait for the apps list to open, then tap Music>Edit, then tap next to All Music.)
    Also, if you purchsed the iCloud storage upgrade in the last 15 days thinking you chould use it to free up space on your iPad, you can call the Apple online store for your country and get a refund (1-800-MY-APPLE in the U.S. and Canada.)

    Under the property node _Chart where you have the ChartTitle, add the property PageSetup. Cascade that into another property node and choose CenterHeader and CenterFooter. You can write the strings directly into these properties. Use the following codes:
    Filename = &F, Date = &D, Time = &T
    Be sure to close all references that do not leave the page (ie. Chart, Legend, ChartArea, etc.). Otherwise Excel will hang later on.
