Modify Query in Production System !

Hello SDN s,
How ya all ?
We want to Modify a Query by inserting one more InfoObject in the Production System. When we try to Drag & Drop the InfoObject from the Dimension to the Free Characteristics it showed blocked symbol and hence we are unable to modify the Query.
We do have to Query in the Development but cannot use that for Transport as it holds another Query Structure which is used by another Production System.
Could anyone suggest us how to modify the Query ?
Will there be any authorization to maintain for the user ?
Best Regards....

Hello Murali,
Could u list down what are all the Authorizations we have to maintain and where it has to be maintained, in SU01 or some other Transaction ?
Hello Srini,
I got this doubt earlier and checked the entire content, the object is not there.
Hello Edwin Harpino(A.H.P),
I will try this and come back with the result !

• ADHOC Query in Production System

Can I create a ADHOC query in Production system?Coz I can able to do that.
Thanks
Sriram

This is the practice:
1. The project team will build all the reports defined in the project plan, test and transport to production. These queries usually will be set not to be changed.
2. SUper users will be granted authorization to create their own queries, modify their own queries and delete their own queries. For this the auth object S_RS_COMP1 is used.
3. All the other users will be granted to access reports.

• Modify request in productive system

Hi expert,
Users want to modify requests in productive system. These request are been created in development and transported in production.
And, in fact, I would like to retransport request modified in production to development.
No problemes for authorization but I would like to know, what configuration to do in productive system (order BEx, parameters in rsa1/ transport connection).
I tried to create :
- a transport request for BEx
- object changeability : everithing changeable for query element
But changes are not registered in the BEx transport request.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Daniel

Hi Daniel,
In your systems you have something called a Transport Route. This is a route that it says to a request where it would be transported. I think your productive system may be closed for modifications from transaction SCC1, but you allowed BEx modifications from the object changeability customizing, but this won't collect your modifications in a request, because of SCC1 customizing (and that´s correct). That's how SAP works.
So, if you want to transport from PRD to DEV, you may need to create a new transport route from PRD to DEV, but that's not a good option, and i think basis people wouldn't be neither. Then, you should manually copy BEx modifications from PRD to DEV, and to leave the system consistent, then transport it to PRD in a request. If you want to have always the systems consistent, then you should disable object changeability to BEx objects, and always make modifications in DEV and transport them to PRD.
Hope it helps.

• How to find who has deleted the query in Production system

I Experts,
I have an issue. Someone has deleted one query in Production system.
How can i find who has deleted the query??
I searched the ans for the same i the below threads :-
Query deleted in production
How to find out who has deleted the production Query
But it didn't help me as i couldn't understand how to use the transaction SLG1.. Can Someone please explain me how can i find out who has deleted the Query..
Regards,
Pavan Raj

Hello,
Please, remember the date on which date the query has seen last time in the production server. You can use the last date in the From date and To date would be current date and execute the SLG1 tcode. It would list you all the logs in the Object text you can search for BEX Query designer and sub object text column you can check for delete logs options.
Double click on the object will list you the query and name. From the user column you can find who has deleted the query.
Might be this can help you for analysis.

• Will Queries will be created in the Production system?

Hi all,
Is it possible to create queries directly in the Production System. And if there is an issue in the query in production systems can it be fixed in the production system itself nor it should be moved to development and then to qa and then to production???
can anyone guide me on this???
thanxs
haritha

Hi,
I am creating all my queries directly in the production system; it all depends on your strategy.
Of course, when you'll have an issue, you'll have to fix it directly in PROD since your query doesn't exists neither in DEV nor in QA.
Based on our authorization concepts where users are allowed to see only some queries we create new queries in PROD with a certain name so that users cannot see that query. We test it with live data and when it's ready we save it as under another name; the query is now released to authorized users in order to test it. When the query is assessed "valid" for the requester, when save it as again this time "LIVE" which is the final version of it. If they're changes, we go trhough the same cycle.
We also use our DEV (we have chosen not to have a QA) to test special scenarios and variable exits....
hope this helps...

• Query created in production system and object changeability

Hi,
The production BW has the object changeability for query elements set to 'Changeable original'. Some queries which have been created in this system can be changed, others, which have also been created in the system, can not.
All queries are assigned to the development packate $TMP. None of them have been transported anywhere, nor have they been created somewhere else and transported into the system.
The system is BW 3.5, SP 17.
Has anyone got any idea what the problem could be?
Best regards,
Rita

Hi,
The object changeability in the system is set to 'Changeable Original' and I know where to switch from 'not changeable' to 'changeable original' to 'everything changeable'.
The normal development cycle sees reports being created in the development system and then being transported through to the production system. Here, they should not be changeable. However, users with the relevant authorisation should be able to either -
- create new copies of these reports and change them or
- create new ad-hoc reports and also change these
We have several of these reports on the production system. The object changeability is set to 'changeable original', as I mentioned. I would expect that all queries which have been created on this system and never transported (either in or out of the system) should be changeable, based on this setting. However, some are, some ar not. The error message when trying to change the 'non-changeable' ones is 'Operation falied! No error message available from the server'. If I make a copy of one of these queries, hoping to save is as an ad-hoc query and change it, the error message is 'query could not be saved due to a problem in transport'.
How come some can be changed, others can't? Is there anywhere I can check what the difference is between the changeable and non-changeable reports which have been created on the system?
Best regards,
Rita

• Query developement and se16 access on productive system

Hi,
we are setting up an authorization concept on ERP2004s and our users asking for query development rights and se16 on our productive system. I think queries and se16 should be on the test system due to security reasons. Please post some feedback how do you think about it!? I think queries should be developed on the test system and transported.
Thank you in advance!
Best regards
Frank

Hi Frank,
I dont think that you can give access to writing a quaery in production system.
writing a query also need access to:
Transaction Code: SE16
Authorization object: S_TABU_DIS
Activity: 02 AND 03
Risk: The risk here is that users who have this access, have the ability to maintain table data directly in the production system. This includes transactional, masterfile, security and configuration data.
Hope it is useful.
Please award points if it is useful.
Thanks & Regards,

• I changed an existing abap query ME80FN but not find in production system.

Hi,
I have changed an ABAP QUERY ME80FN for user group SAPQUERY/ME in Dev system via transaction SQ01 & SQ02.
But when I am searching for same query in Production via transaction SQ01 it is not existing.
Please give me some inputs.
Thanks,
Jwala

Hi Jwala
1. Check if that ABAP query is transported to production or not.
or
check the versions of the ABAP Query in dev w.r.t Production so that you will know the status of the program in production.

The OSS Note 812002 will deactivate the transport requirement.

• List of modifiable programs & reports in a productive system

Hi everyone,
I am trying to determine what objects are modifiable in a system set as productive. I have identified about 50 users who are assigned authorization object S_DEVELOP (activity=02 & auth group=DEBUG) in the production system. However the SAP consultant says that this is not an issue because program modification is not allowed in a system which is set as productive. This makes sense but is it true?
Is there a report or a table which can list system objects that are currently modifiable? From another forum a user suggested I check table OBJH. This was an excellent tip, however OBJH does not list ABAP programs or reports - just tables, views, etc. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Martin

Hi Martin,
These settings are done at client level. Each client can be configured with below options
We can also view client details from SALE->sending and receiving systems->logical systems->assign client to logical system.
Client Role
Customizing
Test
Production
Demo etc..
Changes and Transport for client-specific objects
options are :
Changes without automatic recording
Automatic recording of changes
No changes allowed
Changes w/o automatic recording, no transport allowed
Cross-Client Objects changes
Options are :
Changes to repository and cross-client customizing allowed.
No changes to cross-client customizing objects
No changes to repository objects
No changes to repository and cross-client customzing objs.
And I don't think production system/client is allowed to do any changes to reports or dictionary objects. These must have to come from development system via quality system to production.

Hi Venkat,

I tried that also. But even those transports are not successful.

Already, I unlocked the transport request to Modifiable status.

• Error when executing a query on upgraded system

Hi All,
We are in the process of upgrading our BI system. Currently we are on Quality system and its a copy of existing production system. I have executed a query on the production system (3.5 system) successfully.
But the same query when I'm trying to execute on the upgraded quality system (BI 7.0), I get an error " warning info provider was changed or activated at runtime. The query cannot be opened". The same message doesn't pop up on the current 3.5 BI system.
Can anyone help me how I can correct this error?
regards,

Hi All,
I activated the Infoset and I could eliminate the error. Now the issue is solved.
Thanks

• Error message while transporting SapScript to productive system

Hi,
I have tried to transport an order sapscript form (modified Medruck) into the productive system. But I got errors in transaction stms.
The error message is displayed like this:
R3TRFORMZMEDRUCKN was repaired in this system
Message no. TW 104
Diagnosis
Object R3TRFORMZMEDRUCKN is in repair status. Therefore, it cannot be imported.
System Response
The object is not imported.
Procedure
If you still want to import the object, release the relevant repair andrepeat the import.
Does anybody know something about that problem?
Cheers

Hi,
maybe somebody has already create your form in the productive system. Now you would like to create something already created.
Maybe, you have to check in the TADIR table (key R3TR / FORM / name of the form) if the form already exist. What is the system source for the form. (in the PROD)
And finaly, you can go to the SE03, select the first line and execute (to find object R3TR FORM ..) in all the request order. That will show you who has play with this form, and if a request was lost between DEV & PROD. (in the DEV)
