Modify the ACS database via CSUtil

First, is there a document that will show me the entire CSUtil syntax? I have seen bits and piece, but not everything. Also, can you modify a user account in such a manner that you can actually change it's Group? In other words, can I move jdoe from Group main to group disable via an imported text file?
Thanks

I have found the entry. It is an update entry that can be put into a text file to modify the user's group. Thanks fro the help.

  • Want to modify the Global Database Name in Oracle 10g R2

    Hi All,
I have a global database name like GS77.UK.ORA.COM , I want it to be just GS77.What are the possible workarounds for modifying this.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Gaurav S.

If your problem is really just the global name, yes.
    You can check with
    Select * from global_name;
Check the documentation first to ensure you checked all implications first

  • I am using XNET CAN on a PXI system. When I modify the can database I get the error "the interface has already been opened.."

I have tried both building the XNET session from project explorer and by building a signal list in the VI.
    Any suggestions? Thanks in Advance.

Thanks for the reply. I don't think I have any interface open. But to be sure, I rebooted everything - same result.
Is there some step in the project config that I am failing to do? In the PXI systems I had before XNET, I had to setup some CAN configuration stuff in MAX to get it to work, but I don't see that option anymore with XNET....
I have been sucessful in running XNET CAN VIs reading and writing the data from my database, but I stumble every time I add a signal or rename the database.
I made a simplified VI to illustrate, using a previously working database I now get the empty name message.(screen capture attached)
This is connected to a working CAN link, and I can see these signals in MAX properly.
Thanks in advance for your assistance!

  • ACS database users and passwords.

Hi, i need to get all users and passwords from a acs 3.3 database unencrypted.
    How can i do it?
    Could you help me ?

To get a list of the USers in the ACS database use the CSUTIL tool on Windows platform.
go to bin directory under the ACS install folder and do
    CSUtil.exe -u
this will generate a file "users.txt" in the same folder.
But I dont think you can get the password in unencrypted form.

  • ACS database reporting permissions issue

    Hi,
I have an issue with my testing of the ACS reporting in two test environments (SCOM 2012 SP1). One has SQL installed on the same server as the MS and the other is a separate SQL install on its own server with multiple MS’s. On both SQL servers
the ACS database is running on the same server as the other SCOM databases under an instance called SCOM. When we go live the intention is to run on a separate SQL server so not sure if this would still be relevant at that point.
First off all my normal reports are running fine from the console and from SQL reporting services. My understanding is that the reports are running under different contexts at this point – the web reporting with the account I am logged in
with and from within SCOM console trying to use the data reader account.
When trying from the web reporting services or SCOM console I get -
“An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted)
Cannot create a connection to data source 'dataSource1'. (rsErrorOpeningConnection)
A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote
connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server)”
With regard to the account I am using for the web reporting. It’s a domain admin account. However what I also did was create a global security group called “SCOMACS” and gave this group “db_datareader” permissions within SQL.
I also gave the data reader service account permissions to see if this fixed the issue from the console.
    Wonder if anyone could help?

    Hi,
This seems more like a SQL issue, please make sure your database engine is configured to accept remote connections
    • Start > All Programs > SQL Server 2005 > Configuration Tools > SQL Server Surface Area Configuration • Click on Surface Area Configuration for Services and Connections • Select the instance that is having a problem > Database Engine >
Remote Connections • Enable local and remote connections • Restart instance
Please go through the below blog to troubleshoot this issue:

  • ACS database

    Hi,
I have ACS and is running with windows database integration. But i have some issue the users are created in active directory and then acs ask if the user exists and then it hold the users mappings in his own database (normal operation) but the question is when i delete users from active directory the users still in acs and they can still authenticate i have to block the user in acs or delete manually the mappings is there some procedure that when i delete the user in active directory i do not have to delete the user in acs too?

    Hi,
It is suggest to change the Default retention period of ACS Database of SCOM. By default database retention period is of 14 days, when installing the ACS Services, we can specify days to keep. If you choose to keep the database for long
time and the drawback is the hard-disk may start filling up very quickly.
The retention day option is saved under (ID 6) in the “dbo.dtconfig” table of the ACS Database.
Query SELECT * FROM dtConfig, we can see the retention period.

  • After upgrading ACS 3.3.1 to 4.2 on windows the local database is not working

    Hi,
I have upgaded the ACS 3.3.1 for windows server to 4.2. Everything went fine but the local database is not working.
The CD is an upgrade kit from 3.x to 4.2 on windows. I tried to install directly the 4.2 I was able to install but integration with AD/LDAp is not working. Anysay its an upgrade kit so I cant expect it shoud work when install drectly the 4.2 but by upgrading from 3.3 to 4.2 everything should work fine.
I followed the upgradation path as recomended.
Also we have a requirment that once it is upgraded to 4.2 we need to shift the whole thing from the physical server to a virtual machine on VMware ESX server 3.5.
Can anybody pls guide me if anything else to do after the upgradation.
    Thanks & Regards
    Sachi

    Hi Javier,
First of all I was facing a problem of restoring the old database of 3.3 to 4.2. Somehow I overcame that issue by following the below steps. Now local authentication is working fine but AD/other External database authentication is not working. As you told the setting for the unknown users are configured to fetch the credentials from the external database if it is not in the local database.
Do we need to do anything in the AD itself?
    Regards
    Sachi
Steps for ACS upgrade to 4.2 version
Below are the requested steps mentioned for the up gradation from ACS 3.3.2 to ACS 4.2.
            1)     Take a configuration backup from existing ACS. ACS--->System
    configuration----> ACS Backup
    2)    now if you have  ACS 3.3.2 on server. take backup of the ACS
    3)   Insert the cd or if you have the set up on the system then  Run the setup of ACS 3.3.4. During the process it will prompt you to
upgrade existing configuration. Make sure you check that option else we will
loose the database. Now you need to hit next.next to finish the 3.3.4 upgrade.
    4)     Once you are at 3.3.4, take a backup and keep it handy.
    5)     Run the setup of 4.1.1. During this process it will prompt you to
upgrade existing configuration. Make sure you check that option else we will
loose the database. Now you need to hit next.next to finish the 4.1 upgrade.
6)Once you are at 4.1.1.24 take a backup and keep it handy.
    7)     Run the setup of 4.2. During this process it will prompt you to
upgrade existing configuration. Make sure you check that option else we will
loose the database. Now you need to hit next.next to finish the 4.2 upgrade.
    8)     Once you are at 4.2 take a backup and keep it handy. Now run the
patch 12 and take a backup again.
    9)     Now fresh install 4.2 on your new production server and install patch
    12. Restore the 4.2 patch 12 backup and you should be all set.

  • Can not connect the database via query string (C#). The SQL Server Management Studio is showing the full path of a location instead of database name.

I can not connect to the database via C#. The database is showing full path of the database file instead of the database name. See the pic: a database showing only name 'emart' and the other database showing the full path.
    : Robby

    Hi,
According to your post, I know that the database name is showing file path of the database rather than the database name in SQL Server Management Studio. You were not able to
establish a connection to the database using C#.
As Olaf said, was any error message thrown out when the connection failed? How did you create these databases?
You can use the following T-SQL to attach the database and see if the issue persists.
    CREATE DATABASE
    databasename
        ON (FILENAME = 'filepath _Data.mdf'),
        (FILENAME = 'filepath_Log.ldf')
    FOR ATTACH;

  • How to get the list of database Views modifying the DB tools list tables.vi

    Hi,
I have a problem, I just started using LabVIEW and in particular the LabVIEW connectivity toolkit and I am lookig fgor suggestion regarding how to get the list of database Views modifying the DB tools list tables.vi...
    Thanks in advance,
    Michela

    Hi Michela,
since the VI you want to modify is part of a Toolkit, I suggest you to copy the whole block diagram in a new VI and then save it in a new location.
Place the DB List Tables.vi on a block diagram, double click on it and go to the tab "Window -> Show Block Diagram "
Select "Edit -> Select All" to select the whole block diagram and select "Edit -> Copy"
Open a new VI and select "Edit -> Paste"
    Save the new VI
In this way you can modify everything you want without overwriting the Toolkits VIs.
    Hope this can help.

  • Modify the standard records in database table

    hi folks,
could u say me , how to modify the standard records(values) in database table.
For example in VBAP is one field like ZWERT(target value) , I wnat to modify the values of this field .
    THANKS
    KUMAR

    Hi,
It's not advisable to modify the standard tables through program. If you want you can do using MODIFY.
    MODIFY database_table FROM TABLE itab.
    Thanks,
    Sri.

  • How to modify the database name

    Hi people
Im a developer and it's the first time that I use the Xe version of oracle. I need to modify the database name but I don't know how to make this. Im finding the commands but I don't meet this.
    Anyone can help me?
    Thanks
    Best Regards

    Hi,
XE is XE is XE ... ;-)
If you'd like to rename it you may get a database license for at least a STANARD EDITION ONE database, upgrade your XE to SE-ONE and then rename your database.
But (as it has been noted before) for obvious reasons there's no way to rename an XE database to something else :-)
    Kind regards

  • How to modify the database by Oracle-ridc-client

How to modify the database by Oracle-ridc-client

First of all, from your question it is not very clear what kind of modifications you intend to do - one correct answer to your question could be "call any non-read-only service", which will result as insert/update/delete to a table somewhere. My guess is that this is not the answer you are looking for.
While working with RIDC (or CIS to answer your other thread at once) you have to understand that you integrate primarily with the application layer of your solution. If you want to modify the database scheme, you might, for instance, add a new metadata field - this is OK, because there is a service that you may call to achieve that. On the other hand you might want to change the db scheme directly (e.g. add a new column to a standard table); here neither RIDC, not CIS will help you unless you create a custom (server-side) service that you will call. Note, however, that you should be doing this only if you are really sure what you are doing.
