Modify the index.html to another page

Is there a way to change the index.html page (always the first to the left in plan mode) to another page?
I want the Home to be the index because I have a graphic instead of text so each time people click on the link there are redirected to the home page.
Basicaly you can have a better understanding is you go here http://seventhsensetheband.com/ I want the center button to be my index.html.
Thank you in advance.

Create a manual menu and add the links yourself. For an automatic menu, even if you drag the pages in Plan mode, the first page is always index.html.
Insert the menu, in the menu options choose Manual from the Menu Type menu. For a small site, this is fine.

    Index.html = your domain's home page.  There is only one home page per site.
    To create a new page from your index, go to File > SaveAs > filename.html.  Repeat for other site pages.  Add links on your index page that lead to other site pages.

  • Removing index.html from home page / remove .html tags from all other pages

    Hello All,
    I was wondering if there is a way to remove the index.html from my main page, so that www.mypage.com/index.html is simply www.mypage.com/. This also applies to all the other pages in the site, but only for the .html extension: www.mypage.com/contact.html becomes www.mypage.com/contact. Almost all sites I know do this, but I can't figure out the technique beyond working some crazy voodoo with Apache.
    Thanks in advance for your help!

    if 'index.html' is in your HOST server's default filename list, then you can omit its name from any link, e.g.,
    <a href="/">Home</a>
    That link will cause the server to load the default file found in the root folder of the site.
    This is actually the preferred way to link to your home page.

  • Problem with DOCTYPE tag in the index.html for flex file

    When I have the following !DOCTYPE tag in the index.html file I use to load the flex swf file(s) both FireFox and Orical browsers both become horizontally shortened.  When the tag removed everything works fine.  Given that the !DOCTYPE tag is necessary for good html I'd really like to know what's going on.
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

    Good info on that site about HTML, unfortunatly it had nothing new for me.  I did double check and everything and I was doing things the way they recomend.
    I'm really bothered that this is happening.  The DOCTYPE tag should be used and it should not have this effect when added to the HTML generated by the Flex Builder.  Additionally the new Flash Builder does have the DOCTYPE tag in its generated HTML and this is very worrisome.

  • Captivate 8, HTML5: Unable to drag objects using the index.html

    Using Captivate 8 and publishing to SWF and HTML5. In the published index.html file, I'm unable to drag anything in my drag and drop interaction.
    Disabled Master Slide Objects on Top
    Accept All disabled in Accepted Drag Sources
    Set opacity of drop targets to 0%
    The interaction works in the swf version of the course and the [project_name].htm file, just not in the index.html. When previewing in the browser from CP8, the interaction works, but not when previewing HTML5 in the browser.
    Is there something I need to do to make the drag and drop interaction work in HTML5? Something I need to activate? Edit in the code?
    Thanks,
    Kelly

    I have not upgraded at this time, but I can if that will fix the issues I'm having with the published files.
    To clarify, my project is NOT a responsive project. I'm just selecting HTML5 on the publish. And I am testing it locally, on our company server, and online. The drag and drop does not work in any instance of the index.html any of these locations.

  • Can not edit the index.html site

    I designed a Site www.alter-porthhof.de and maked it ready
    for editing with contribute. Everything works fine, but I seems
    that I maked one mistake: I edited the index.html on my computer
    for testing, and than I gave the user domainowner the admin rights.
    He can edit everything and it works fine except the index.hmtl
    site.
    How can I change this? Is it possible to delete the hole
    contribute thing, and than to from the beginning?

    1. when you use dreamweaver to build and maintain the
    website, check in the index.html file, so the lock-file
    (index.html.lck) will be removed
    2. wehen you use Contribute too, check if you have a draft
    open of the index.html file, publish the draft or discard the draft
    3. check with an ftp program on the server for index.html.lck
    and delete this file, this will remove the lock on the page

  • Command link propagating the Faces Message to another page

    Hi,
    I am facing a problem with a message +(message added to FacesContext Queue)+ being propagated from one page to another.
    I have 2 jsp pages. Both these pages when accessed display data loaded from DB. When the user comes to first page and there is no data found a FacesMessage is added to FacesContext and is displayed. There is a command link on this page which performs the navigation to 2nd jsp page.
    Problem* : If the user clicks the link, the same message that was displayed in 1st jsp page is displayed in 2nd jsp page even if the data is present
    FacesContext display messages that are in the same request and clicking on command link creates a new request, so the old message in the FacesContext Queue should be removed and it should not carry forward that message to next jsp
    Please correct me if I am wrong.
    Thanks

    I don't think you have given us enough to work with here. Try paring down the code to the smallest possible example that still exhibits the problem. Many times that process itself will reveal the issue. If not, post the example here.

  • Search criterias in one page, the query results in another page?

    Hi, can I put search criterias in one page, and get query results in another page?
    Need help
    Thanks in advance
    karman

    If you meant a situation like: Page 1 has some items and page 2 has a report which refers page 1 itemsThen your report _query would fetch proper results provided the page 1 item values are available in the session_.
    That is, after submitting their values(using page submit,dynamic action,ajax etx) to session state , their values would be available in any page (anywhere in that session ) , until the page cache for the item page(page 1) is cleared.

    Then from the table i am doing multiple selection of rows and i have a button, on pressing the button the seleted rows should display in the base page where i called this popup window and popup window should close.
    so i am able to perform multiple selection of row  from the table but how i can display the seleted rows in my base page  and how i can close the poup window after the seleted rows displayed in the base page, please help me on this.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    For navigation data from one page to another  you can use  a hashmap that contains the parameters.
    // processFormRequest()
    HashMap hsp = new HashMap(1);
    hsp.put("myParam", "myParamVal");
    pagecontext.setForwardURL("MY_FUNCTION", (byte)0, null, hsp,true, "N", (byte)0);
    You can then retrieve this parameter in processRequest() via:
    pagecontext.getParameter("myParam")
    //Code for redirect to base page with commit
    Refer to the setPostToCallingPage method, from OADialogPage Class how to make the dialog page action buttons submit back to the calling page. In the example, the OK button commits the changes on the dialog page and the NO button rolls back the changes.
    OADialogPage dialogPage = new OADialogPage(OAException.*, mainMessage, null, "", "");
    dialogPage.setOkButtonItemName("okButton");
               dialogPage.setOkButtonToPost(true);
               dialogPage.setNoButtonToPost(true);
               dialogPage.setPostToCallingPage(true);
               dialogPage.setOkButtonLabel(yes);
               dialogPage.setNoButtonLabel(no);

  • I can't modify the title in my template pages?

    Hi
    I'm developing a site from a template and have most of the site built.  I did have some issues with the template and errors earlier on in the process when I was working when I should have been sleeping, I think I erased the 'doctile' in the head of the template.  The template still updates the child pages, but now I've discovered I can't change the title on the template pages and I think I've made a real mess out of the template.  Can you pleae have a look and possible let me know where I go from here to resolve this issue.
    Thanks..

    Copy and Paste this code into a new, blank, HTML document.  Save As a new template in your Templates folder.  Test it first.  If it works as it should, save it over your old design_template.dwt.

  • In Firefox 4 the dropdown menu next to the forward button in the Navigation Toolbar that allowed the user to select another page in the history to go back to is gone. Why?

    In Firefox 3, the user could access a dropdown menu by hovering over a small black arrow next to the forward arrow in the Navigation Toolbar. This allowed the user to go to earlier pages in the browser history, rather than using the back button to go to the immediate previous page.
    After updating to Firefox 4, this menu disappeared. Was it moved? Was it removed?
    I found this feature to be very useful. Why was it changed?
    Nick

    There are two ways to get this: (1) Hold the back button until the menu appears (2) Right click the back button. See the screenshot below for reference.

  • How to modify index.html for Flash gallery

    I've been hunting around for the past couple of days trying to figure out how I can modify the index.html page which is generated for the Flash gallery. I'd like to add a google Analytics code snippet so I can track my galleries. Currently I'm doing it manually once the export has finished. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks

  • Renamed Home page to "index," now my other pages' links to home won't work

    I made a website on Iweb, bought a domain name from Hosting4less, and got an ftp client (cyberduck) to upload it. The Hosting4less support guy told me to rename my "home" page to "index" so that everything would actually show up once I'd uploaded it. This worked, and now, starting from home, I can go to any page. However, from the other pages, when I click back to the home link, I get this:
    The requested URL /Home.html was not found on this server.
    Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
    I guess the renaming mixed up the other pages' links to the home page. How do I fix this? I don't know code, so I can't really go in and fix it that way. It seems like Iweb won't allow it either... help???

    Hi and welcome,
    with iWeb you don't need to rename any page to "index" as publishing already creates a page called "index".
    I guess you're publishing to a folder, the result of publishing is an index.html file and a folder named with the name you gave to the site in iWeb. You have to upload the folder and the index.html file.
    Pages should never be renamed after you publish as that breaks the whole structure of the website (all the links that refer to this page).
    Republish from iWeb and reupload (also don't name a page index in iWeb as that may conflict with iWeb already generating such files).
    Regards,
    Cédric
